By far the worst experience I have had in some time. Ordered fried chicken 1/2 $14.99. Was burnt to crisp! Burnt so badly in places the skin was burnt. Table next to us same thing happened with chicken. Also could not get a refill on drinks but in there defense it was very busy day. My first experience there in Daytona and last. Don't order the chicken it will be burnt , dry and horrible! If you like very dark brown with black burnt spots you will love it! read more

So I went to order a curbside pick up order online and when I was ready to order it said they didn't have any more pick up slots available, even though it was 12 pm. I ended up ordering pick up through Door Dash. When my boyfriend came home with the food we realized they didn't give us cranberry juice, our side of fruit, and the hash browns and eggs that came with our sausage gravy meal. My husband and I were visiting for our anniversary from the myrtle beach area... I've been a waitress for a long time so I use Yelp, trip advisor etc ALOT when deciding where to eat.. I wanted to check this place out and we LOVED LOVED LOVED it... it's so cute, clean, food was awesome! I love open kitchens I love a place that feels like an old time diner thats comfortable and friendly and this is it! The obvious chicken and waffles were so good!! We came back for dinner after the daytona 500 and talked with the staff before I'm sure they got slammed. This is definitely one of the local spots to stop and grab a bite to eat and have some real good homemade Southern or comfort food. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in, having lived in Daytona for almost a year now and my 1st visit to the location, from the very warm and welcoming atmosphere to the décor which has a very retro diner style look. Arriving, we were seated pretty quickly and we were brought generous mug portions of coffee and a very generous portion of mimosas. (See the picture posted). The food was really good. I ended up ordering the steak and eggs which, was a decent sized portion. Cooked very well and through. I left nothing on my plate. Everything was cooked exactly the way I wanted it. The waiters were very friendly and attentive of our every needs, checking in on us here and there and making sure that we were having what we needed. The refills were constant and were without any issues of needing to remind them or ask for more. If you really want to have that southern or home-style comfort food that you would find a pretty much everywhere else that has the 'diner feel' but and a clean welcoming and friendly atmosphere I definitely suggest you check this place out when you are here. Thought I would try this for lunch. Had the shrimp and grits. It was just ok, not great. Thought it was overpriced, not because of the quantity of food, but because of the taste. I like our Metro diner! That's a very unique Reuben that they serve and it is good. All in all it's a lot of breakfast/brunch with some home style dinner dishes. The portions are great and are mostly popular things that you would have to try very hard to mess up. They also have some over the top or just things you may not have had as well which is exciting.The working staff is attentive and happy and next to the food being cooked consistently that's the most important thing. Have eaten in twice and get take out mostly for lunch. Usually busy. I hope they keep it up! read more
