Hands down my favorite breakfast place in Indy. The menu is priced very well, open kitchen and the chefs are always on point. I get the 3 egg breakfast w/ hash browns, toast, bacon, extra side of sausage links and then a fruity Belgian waffle. A lot of breakfast places around here have your basic run of the mill Belgian waffles but Metro Diner has the best. I had one bad experience at the Northwest location by Kroger, not even bad just not as good as usual. I was talking to the chef at the one I usually go to right next to Tilly's in Castleton, just joking around that this one is much better bc I've never had anything less than great from him. The manager must've heard me and bought my whole meal. Absolutely did not have to do that and I certainly wasnt looking for any type of discount I was just telling the chef how much better I liked this one lol. Things like that let you know they care about their reputation, even if it was a different location. I thought that was awesome. Little things like that go a long way. The burgers are bomb, the best chicken and waffles for sure. Their fried chicken is insanely good and paired with the best waffles around is a no brainer. The server was great!! The food? Ah, not so much. I got something that I didn't think could be bad: a veggie omelette. It was probably one of the worst veggie omelette I've had. The toast was very dry and over done and the omelette just had no flavor and not a lot of veggies. I work at the Puccinis next door, I'll come here for my lunch break a lot and they do a great job. Waiters and waitresses are always so friendly and nice, on top of refills and whatever else I need. Food and drink is always awesome, I recommend you grab the chicken Caesar salad wrap and peach iced tea while they have them. Overall it's a nice friendly establishment, cheers! read more

The only thing from keeping me from coming back is the music blasting at 8:30am. Lots of good food. See the picture. Wife and I ordered the same thing and the bill was under $17. Butter was not frozen solid as it so often is at other places. My eggs were Not "over medium well" but nobody else seems to be able to handle that either. Excellent breakfast. Great service. The specials were wonderful. The picture was stuffed French toast made from challah bread stuffed with strawberries and then covered in blueberries. It was outstanding. Our server was very attentive and helpful. A nice touch is they bring your bill on a tablet and you slide your card at the table so it does not leave your possession. Yummy!!! We stopped in here on a whim and I'm glad we did. Our server was so fantastic! He was tentative and our food came out in a jiffy! I got the spicy honey chicken biscuit and it was amazing! It wasn't very spicy just perfect. The piece of chicken was amazing. My husband got the 3 egg breakfast. It was a lot of food. Our only observation is that the eggs weren't the best. I have never heard of this place and I don't know how. Today I got a special, the spicy chicken eggs Benedict, and a mimosa. I was not prepared with how full the eggs alone would would make me. I took a bite out of the hashbrowns just to see if they were good fresh just for this review. Now the hashbrowns are ok but that spicy chicken eggs Benedict with gravy over the top was perfect. Though the food and service were good, my niece and I were appalled at the LACK of COVID-19 precautions taken at this café. Large groups were seated next to small groups. No social distancing was possible. The only effort we saw included partial plexiglass shields between booths. What's the point when tables are close together? A server said that Marion county allowed 100% capacity in restaurants. We don't plan on returning and are spreading the word to others about avoiding this restaurant. read more

August 13th, 2021 , After our flight from LAX to Indiana, we stopped by for some morning breakfast, my dad ordered a simple breakfast meal, I ordered sunny-side up eggs with bacon and hash-browns to start my day after a long sleepless night on the airplane, my twin brother was the only one who did not order breakfast but rather fish and chips. The customer service was outstanding, but the food, especially for the price, was meh. I stopped in for lunch with a friend. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. I just had to order the chicken and waffles because everyone raved about them and my friend ordered chicken salad. It didn't take long at all for our food to come out. The portion size was pretty good, but taste wise it was just ok. Generous portion of chicken although it was a bit greasy. The waffle was nothing exceptional. My friend loved her chicken salad. Brunch here is amazing! I dream about going back. I plan to do that very soon. Portions are huge. I think sharing would be best! I got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was hot and fresh and my waffles light and airy and full of butter goodness. Then it came with strawberry butter that was to die for. It just was simply amazing. We went a bit later so after the morning rush, but still waited a little while for a table. But not too long. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile now. I'm a big fan of breakfast places & their online pictures had my mouth watering. So my mom, grandma, cousin, aunt, & I wanted to give it a try. Extremely disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. We were a group of 30.. ages from little kid to elderly. We called the day before to make sure we will have our area ready because this is not a big restaurant. After waiting 45 mins we asked the hostess how close we was to being seated. The hostess said we was yelling at her. There was no one in our group that yelled or even raised our voice at her. The manager which was also the girls father was rude.. we tried to explain that no one was loud or rude.. and he didn't care what anyone said. He said to the group and I quote " none of you are important to our business." We was kicked out of the restaurant for no reason .. will not recommend this place to anyone. Yummy! I love a good diner breakfast, and this one definitely hit the mark. Portion sizes are HUGE -- the two-egg breakfast seemed more like four eggs, and I took half the hash browns home with me. For some odd reason, my picky eater son refused to eat his pigs in a blanket (sausages wrapped in pancakes - again, a generous serving), so I took them home and had them as a late lunch. I've dined at Metro for years and LOVE every meal. They have so many amazing options, it's hard for me to pinpoint one I love. Their breakfast options are great. They also serve mimosas, so grab one with your meal if you're looking for some bubbly. They have dozens of ways to cook your eggs, and it always comes out right. If you're unhappy with how a meal turns out, they're happy to swap it out for you. The service is beyond quick, and though it's a busy place the wait is never extremely long. Staff are usually busy, but friendly and love to chat. Their lunch and dinner menu is also good. Try the pot roast, shepherd's pie, meatloaf or even the fried chicken and waffles. I love that they have rotating specials written on the chalkboard. It's nice to have the option to shake up my usual and try some of their creative creations. I always go for the flavored coffee. The prices can't be beat for the portions. While I'm sad the location nearest to me has closed, this is worth the drive. Today, I got a three egg breakfast. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the hash browns are always delicious and the sausage patties are my favorite, although the bacon always looks good too. I asked for my hashbrown to be crisp and when it was served it was leaking butter. The croissant french toast was pretty good, but I had to lean plate away from my eggs to keep the grease at bay. My husband said his pancake tasted like cake. He said he would come back for pancakes. I come back to try something else. I was really excited to try out this spot, however it fell short of my expectations. I had been craving chicken and waffles, and was told that this would be an awesome spot. I did like the comfortable feel of the spot, however it was a little tight. The tables and chairs were very close together, so getting out to go to the restroom was a challenge. Once my food arrived, I was amazed at how much food was on my plate! I legitimately received a whole half chicken!!! But unfortunately, it had a "burned" after taste that I DID NOT enjoy! This is my 1st visit to Indianapolis and my boyfriend's family recommended this diner for breakfast. My boyfriend and I decided to check it out on a Friday morning. We were greeted with smiles and warm welcomes as soon as we walked in the door. I looked at the menu online before I got to the diner and already knew I wanted to order the Country Benedict. Even though it wasn't on the menu in the restaurant our waitress assured me they had all the ingredients and could still make it for me. My boyfriend ordered the Bissell breakfast and raved about the pancakes and eggs. The Country Benedict did not disappoint. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the Hollandaise sauce was creamy and perfectly seasoned. All of our food was amazing. Yay a diner!! I love diners and I wish this one was open 24/7 but it's a little more upscale than that. Breakfast served all day with lunch and dinner options as well.
