Having asparagus on a breakfast omelette is rare, unique and set metro diner apart from other places that serve breakfast however, they no longer have that option available so now their veggie omelette is just ordinary and boring. So let's start with the positive. We've been here several times and the food is great. If they have a Yohalla on the special board, get it! Chicken & waffels are tasty and you can get strips or bone in! And $3 mimosas that are actually good... The service is normally average to very good, depending on the server. I hadn't had a truly negative experience until today. Today the hostesses were crap. It was a busy after church crowd, so we knew we'd have a wait when we came for brunch with some friends. Fast forward... We have been waiting for about 30mins (quoted 15-20) with a party of 5, which isn't too bad. We were hungry, but waiting patiently. Until we watched a party of 6 leave two tables that had been pushed together, which could have seated 8 max. Now then, instead of letting our party have that table, they separated the tables and seated a partyof 2 at each 4-top , and both of those parties came in some time after us. When I asked the very young ladies manning the hostess desk, they pretty much blew us off. They said they couldn't seat us there because they had to seat the maximum number of people. Which was BS cause they seated 4 people who'd been waiting 5 mins, instead of 5 people waiting 30 mins. Not gonna lie, our group of hungry people grumbled a bit about this. It also didn't help that the hostesses kept whispering and giggling while shooting glances our way while we were standing in the minuscule waiting area. Seriously if you're going to let 16 yr olds man the hostess desk make sure they know how to interact with folks. Finally a table full of after lunch chit-chatters got the heck up and moved on. Now the funny part is that there were 8 people sat at this 6-top, and I was wondering if they would actually give us that table either. Thankfully they did, and about an hour after we get there we are sat. One of the hostesses must have mentioned the issue to the manager, and he did come by towards the end of our meal and talked to us. Apologized for the seating issue, and gave us some coupons. All in all, I really like the food, so I will be back. However, I will not go on a Sunday during this time frame again, at all. I also will not go with a group (4 or less only) again. They can apparently only handle maybe a couple of those per every few hours. read more

Great spot! Stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Service was quick, friendly, and very good. Food was absolutely delicious. Even my 9 yr old was happy! That's a WIN! We'll definitely come back! The Mimosa was, eh, my only setback for this place. read more

First time at this place and thought it would be amazing. Such a let down. The service was good which is the only reason this place gets any stars at all. Had to wait a while for food but the waiter told us up front that the fried chicken would take at least 16min so we weren't in a rush. However, the food was all bland and overcooked/burnt. The biscuit was so hard it wasn't even edible. The roast beef dip sandwich and Mac and cheese were terribly dry and boring. The only thing that was good was the gravy on the potatoes. And on top of it all, we paid 50% more than we would have at other restaurants and gotten MUCH better food. Terrible disappointment. read more

We ate here a couple of nights ago. My husband had the chicken pot pie and I had a fried chicken sandwich. His food was not eatable and mine was over cooked. Our server asked if everything was tasting good and turned and walked away not really wanting an answer. I ate my food but my husband tried his food but just could not eat it. You would think our waiter would have figured out something was wrong when all the food was left and we did not want a box. My fries and ice tea were good but that is all. I don't think they were sanitizing the tables either. We have eaten at the one in okc and it was good food and service. This one had neither of those qualities. It is a clean diner with plenty of space between tables. We had a great waitress name Page that was nice and responsive. We had the seafood plater/ shrimp and cod with fries and slaw. They seemed very nice, but I think the management needs to train more in customer service. Went last night to the Tulsa Hills location was hit by the smell of death as we approached the patio and entrance. Informed the hostess who acknowledged it and said they'd told the manager but no action had been taken she also seemed to shrug it off. It was so bad I had to pop a mint in my mouth from the hostess station to keep from barfing right there. The menu was varied with breakfast and dinner items but seemed pricey for the simple diner atmosphere and the caloric counts were off the chart for every item. We figured they must douse everything with butter or serve family sized portions. The waitress was prompt but didn't offer much in the way of suggestions. We each ordered something different. Eggs Benedict, chicken platter, bacon, grits and hash browns aka cart and monte cristo sandwich with fries. The food came out quickly but my monte cristo was a sin against nature. It was basically fried soggy bread stained with cheese and a thin layer of ham and some putrid dry turkey. No powdered sugar coating no berry sauce. Now I know that sandwich is a specialty item but don't have it on the menu if you can't basically complete the order. It was inedible. Before eating I asked the waitress about the obvious missing accoutrements and she didn't take it back but opted instead to bring me a bowl of powdered sugar and a side of the sauce. Was I supposed to roll the fried sandwich prices in the bowl of sugar? Well I tried but that didn't make up for the slimy tasteless innards. My friend offered to share her extra piece of friend chicken but it was over cooked in lard taste and dry on the inside. She seemed to not notice but then again she will eat anything. My fries were old and cold. I tried the bacon and it too had given the best years of its life under a heat lamp before making it to our table. I feel I should warn you that a glass of Pepsi is $2.99. You pay your server and if using a credit card she hands you an iPad and stands there as you figure her tip which is clunky and awkward. As we left the restaurant we were hit again in the nostrils by the smell of Casey Anthony's car trunk and I went back into gag mode. This MD location was decent. Staff were a little loud and I heard a couple curse words and inappropriate conversation from the cooks while sitting at the bar. The restaurant was almost empty so my food came out only a few mins after placing the order. Food is always good at MD's and this location is no different! My son and I went here this Monday morning 7/22/19, for breakfast. I wanted to try this restaurant out, from our usual restaurant we eat at. We were greeted with friendly people, seated right away ( we got there after 8am). I asked the waitress what she should suggested because I like surprises. I got the San Francisco breakfast, which is eggs Benedict. My son son got something else, with pancakes. When are plates came, both our eyes were big, we didn't realize how much food we received. This is our favorite place to eat breakfast. We take our grown kids here when they come to visit. My favorite is the all protein breakfast. My youngest son loves the chicken and waffles. Our server showed us a trick with the hot sauce and syrup that made the chicken awesome. My wife loves the avocado toast breakfast. The bread is well toasted (Not burned.) The guacamole is well seasoned. The portions are filling and in my opinion a great size for the cost. Some other items seemed pricey but to each his own. The coffees and barista drinks were spot on. We had awesome coffee there and to go. The service was top shelf. Our servers never let our drinks run low. As a plate was emptied they removed it promptly. They always checked for permission to remove plates which is an indication they were properly trained. If you are in Tulsa, Oklahoma you really need to stop and eat a meal here. We have been to both the Tulsa Hills and Memorial locations and were excellent. read more

Its Friday night at 6pm went to Metro Diner.. There are only 7 tables occupied with 5 waiters. We are promptly seated with menus. After waiting 15 minutes and no showed up for our order or drinks. I got up and went to a waitress and advised her of the situation, She apologized and took our order and drinks. ordered seafood platter and c& waffles. After 45 minutes of watching the waitresses stand around up front talking again had to go ask about our food and drink refills. FYI only 3 people had came in during this time. I noticed one meal sitting in the warmer area for 10 minutes , it was mine. Then we got our meal. One piece of fish and 4 shrimps isn't a seafood platter. The shrimp tasted old and mass produced, fish just ok. Chicken was ok, just as good as KFC, but the waffle were cold and soggy. Finally a waitress came to our table, only the 2 time, we bought this to their attention, she said one word, Sorry and went on her way to the front talking The third time we saw our waitress is to bring the check. I also witness another table having the same problems. If you like bad service, being ignored and paying higher prices for fast food, this is your place. read more

We have been to Metro diner several times over the last couple of years. We have always been pleased, moderate to great service, great tasting food. The prices are high for diner food however the portions were large and was able to take enough home for a second meal. We went yesterday evening and were so disappointed. The food portions were so much smaller than during previous visits. My daughter got the Shepherd's pie which looked like maybe a 1/2 cup size ladle and a half of the meat & vegetables with potatoes over the top that didn't even cover the entire portion. It looked like a side dish portion! I ordered the chicken tenders, which is what I always get... It was about half the size of what I usually get. 3 small pieces - I gave 1 to my daughter so she could have closer to a meal sized dinner. The food tasted great as always, there just wasn't much of it. We got there about an hour before they closed, maybe they were running out of food? We would have preferred to be told there wasn't enough left to complete the order. Very sad - probably won't be back. read more
