    Chicken Piccata
    Thiru S.

Tucked in a quiet area off the busy Route 1. Ample parking and a nice setup on the porch and classic ambience inside. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was ok. Few dishes like the Vodka Rigatoni and Ravioli were very good. The rest - meatballs, bang bang shrimp (well one shouldn't order this in an Italian restaurant!!) and Chicken Piccata were average. We couldn't wait to take pictures of the dessert!! But both the brownie and lava cake were sweeter than they should have been. Overall a good place to go with friends / family. Maybe for drinks/ appetizers.

Came here for dinner after work. I didn't know this place though it's so close to work. I love the food here. The place is huge too. So excited work is holding Christmas party here in a couple of months! I can't wait to try more food from here!

Food was quite good. The porkchop was really moist and well cooked. This was also helped by the sauce on top. The mash was very nice and smooth. Seafood was also really really good. MAYbe a touch on the salty side. Service was nice, attentive but not overbearing. Ambiance - have been coming here for a number of years (10+). Have not been in here though for the last 3 or 4 - the place hasn't changed. Might be time for a refresh but overall has been pretty clean, and well maintained. Will be back.

Overall This restaurant is a warm and comfortable environment with a very safe menu. Safe as far as there are solid dishes that don't get too adventurous but are true to classics that everyone knows and loves. The appetizers were average but they do come out quickly which is a plus. Main courses were of expected portions and very well prepared. I highly recommend the Pork Chop Scarpiello (it can be a tad salty) but the pork is cooked so so well. Finishing with the Pumpkin cheesecake was delightful as it was an extremely light dessert as opposed to the normal heavy bodied staple. Service was excellent and attentive and our server was a pleasure to chat with as well. Overall an excellent choice for a night out but reservations are recommended especially on the weekends.

We had a good time here. It's got a casual and cozy vibe. The food was surprisingly good since I was expecting bar food. The calamari was my favorite of the apps though all were good. The ahi tuna entree was good as well. I was wondering about the name of the restaurant when I saw a train go by next door and it all made sense.

Great food and service! Wonderful ambiance. I had a veal and shrimp dish in a Cognac cream sauce over a capellini pasta. It was amazing. I also had an amazing warm chocolate lava cake drenched in a warm chocolate, paired with a vanilla ice cream scoop. It was excellent.

To summarize the experience, for the price, it's not worth at all. The best thing was definitely the calamari (not pictured) or the truffle fries, but the rest was underwhelming to say the least. The pasta sauce tasted oddly fake, the short rib pasta was weirdly sweet but also flavorless, and the chicken was dry. That being said, the service was okay overall. We did have to wait a bit despite the reservation, but it wasn't awful. Overall, wouldn't come again honestly.

It has an outdoor patio, which on Friday afternoon when I arrived was quite crowded. It has a very large bar area and since I was by myself, I just sat at the bar, even though I wasn't having an alcoholic beverage. I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon, which they kindly refilled as soon as it was empty. I've been trying to eat healthy so I ended up getting the blackened grouper sandwich, but without the bun, and instead of the french fries I got a side of steamed broccoli with garlic. The fish was actually quite good and the broccoli was very freshly made in crisp with garlic. They have a pretty big menu with all kinds of food foods and the one interesting thing that they have here that you wouldn't expect is sushi and sashimi! If these system issues are persistent, there should be a temporary process in place to ensure orders are communicated to the kitchen. The staff were already aware of the problem, which suggests this isn't a one-time occurrence. Management needs to address this so employees aren't left dealing with frustrated customers because of a known system failure. The staff apologized and offered to rush our order by moving it ahead of the others already being prepared, but by that point we had already been waiting 40 minutes, had children waiting in the car, and it was getting late. We ultimately canceled the order and requested a refund. This experience wasn't about the employees, they were courteous and tried to make it right. The issue was the lack of a reliable backup process for a known system problem, which created an avoidable inconvenience for both customers and staff.

Everything we ordered was fresh, well-prepared, and satisfying. My absolute favorite was the Summer Refresher mocktail - a zero-proof drink that was incredibly refreshing, with fresh mint and juicy watermelon chunks. It was the perfect sip for a summer evening. To top it all off, the Mini Indulgence desserts were the perfect portion-controlled treats. Served in adorable parfait glasses, they let everyone enjoy a little something sweet without overdoing it. We ordered a little bit of everything--from kids' meals and appetizers to steaks and the duck wings. The duck wings were definitely a standout and were absolutely worth ordering. The only minor issues we had were that the queso arrived only warm instead of hot, but our server took care of it immediately without hesitation. I also ordered a steak that wasn't quite what I was expecting, although that may have been due to a miscommunication on how I wanted it cooked. What really stood out was the hospitality. That level of customer service made a lasting impression and really ended our evening on a positive note. Overall, we had a great experience. J S Foodies is the latter, a small and cheerful outpost of Tokyo imagination where breakfast behaves like theater. I arrived with my boys and my father in law, a man celebrating another year of survival in a universe that has not yet figured out how to improve pancakes. The space is small, and the famous Kiseki pancakes take their time, about twenty to thirty minutes, as if they are being persuaded into existence rather than cooked. These Kiseki pancakes are not pancakes in the American sense. They are soufflé style creations, tall and trembling, as if gravity is only a suggestion. They arrive airy and delicate, with a gentle jiggle that suggests optimism. We ordered accordingly. I had the lemon ricotta, which tasted like sunlight had been filtered through dairy. My oldest chose matcha, green, purple and quietly sophisticated and complex. My youngest went with the original maple, a classic executed so well it made the classics feel new again. All were excellent, the sort of food that makes conversation pause because mouths are busy being grateful. My father in law ordered what I personally considered a cautious breakfast. Regular pancakes with eggs and bacon. A meal that could have been assembled in any roadside diner between here and forever. Yet even this was handled with care. The eggs were perfect, the bacon honest, the pancakes dignified. No irony, no shortcuts. Yes, the prices are a little steep. But this is not a place for routine nourishment. This is a place for occasions, for birthdays, for reminding yourself that breakfast can aspire to something like art. Five stars, because sometimes the world surprises you by getting something exactly right.
