My boyfriend and I go on a date here at least once a month since we met and neither of us have ever been disappointed. Every area of the place is fun to sit and the waitstaff is so friendly, we've also never had to wait to be seated. Big selection of drinks and food to choose from. The only thing I don't love about the place is the outdoor seating area. They don't have a deck area so it's situated in the parking lot. The pizza is nothing like wood fired pizza. It was more like frozen pizza dough with too much cheese. The French Fries were cold, but everyone was so hungry we just ate it. The buffalo chicken dip was liked by those that ate it, but the celery wasn't cleaned properly and had dirt on several pieces. The service was good though. Went by mews this past weekend with my wife and my two year old daughter and a couple of our good friends. The wait was about 30 minutes which was not bad with how busy it was. We stopped in for a late dinner on a Saturday night during a girls weekend getaway. Although the wait was about 40 min, we were able to grab a drink at the bar to pass the time. My mom loved her calzone - crispy crust with plenty of filling - and I loved the warm autumn salad with butternut squash and pecans! Not even a word was said to me, I then said "just two" and they all looked away. Mews, I do not know where to begin. My partner and I drove all the way here to the east coast from LA (roadtrip) and we needed some local eats close by to where we are staying. We've been here before so we were certain to come back again. Next thing you know, we ordered from here 3x in on week. I blame the fooooood obviously. The menu is easy to follow and super flavorful. And the customer service-- freakin awesome. You have a great staff and great organization, especially during Covid. Your methods and protocols on food handling for takeout have been well executed. I've been to The Mews a number of times. However, it's probably been years since my last visit. They have an impressive beer list, and you can choose from their list to get 4 samples. Being pregnant, I was unable to partake, but from my past experience I know it's really cool. We were very happy to see that they have a Kid's Menu. Some places don't (I wasn't expecting one knowing they are a tavern), but was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend the Nachos. They are nothing short of amazing. You don't get cheated on toppings and there's even cheese and toppings in between the layers of chips. They carry quite a kick, so be prepared. I only ordered a salad, as I had a feeling the Nachos would be enough - and they were. My husband and I split them, and I still couldn't finish the salad. I admittedly was disappointed with the salad. The dressing (housemade blue cheese) was delicious and I liked the vegetables on the salad, but I didn't like the fact that it wasn't lettuce - it was greens, of which I'm really not a fan - and it didn't state that on the menu. I don't mind the greens if they're mixed with lettuce, but that wasn't the case. Their sweet potato fries are A-Mazing. Seriously. Put this on your list. Pay the extra $1.50 for them. You won't be disappointed. The wait staff are all really friendly and accommodating. It's definitely worth the stop!! read more

My husband and l thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this cool, funky tavern. Andy crafted a delicious elderberry martini for me while Steve had a beer. My husband loved his shaved steak sandwich and wings, and l can't rave enough about the Tangled up in Blue cheeseburger. The combination of flavors (Carmelized Onions, Gorgonzola cheese, and fried onion straws) had my taste buds dancing! We had a wonderful conversation with Andy, who has an awesome personality! Came here after the URI vs Charleston game and we had a great time. Tons of food and drink choices. Interesting and inventive specials, great pizza, calzones, burgers and sandwiches- plus 69 different beers on tap if that's what you're looking for. It's very popular, busy and loud but that should be expected. Everything is super fresh and delicious. I had a chicken parm calzone and it was enormous. Golden brown, covered in spices and full of great flavor. A side of super fresh and flavorful marinara set it off perfectly. Kids had some awesome burgers and fries, which also had nice spice to them. Prices were very reasonable and service was attentive and very friendly despite the packed house. When you check in they send your phone a text link that lets you know how many parties are ahead of you. Apparently there's an app that lets you "call ahead" for seating, although that was not evident when I actually called to do that... And we had to wait 40 minutes to get in. But it was worth it. We had a blast. It's a great place if you're in the area, great people, great food, big portions and very fair prices. Well worth the drive/wait. read more

The Mews was once a favorite but seems to have gone downhill lately. Tonight's experience was really subpar, with 3 of 4 dinner entrees not as ordered. One included an item that was specifically asked to be left off due to an allergy. Our server (who also forgot drink orders) barely checked back with is, so the item was eaten by someone else at the table and the person who ordered it went hungry. My food was almost as ordered (minor error) but just didn't taste as good as in the past. Overall a disappointment (and a rather expensive one), made worse by the fact that we used to love this place. read more

I haven't been to the Mews in a few decades, but I'm glad to see it's still just as popular now as it was back then. I took my family here on a whim while staying in Narragansett as a change from the beach scene. I expected it to be busy but it was packed, as was all of Wakefield because by happy coincidence we chose a night when Wakefield has River Fire. We ate inside and my teen loved the atmosphere. My husband was impressed with the beer selection and chose the Kentucky bourbon ale and the blazin' saddles burger, which he loved. I had the pulled pork which was delicious with coleslaw and sweet potato fries. The place was busy so a few service items were neglected. We had to request silverware, and ask for a few things more than once but overall a great experience. read more

Nola born and raised. This place has been my favorite bar while being in Ri for nine months. I have been three times now. I love the grit of the bar area. People seem to know each other. A community dive bar! The food is very very good. The red eye burger was cooked perfectly to my specific request. The flavor was really nice. The bacon was advertised as something special but it seems as it is frozen Sysco bacon. The egg that I ordered was cooked through. I prefer runny. The fries were world class. Would order again. I have the chili. Very nice. The nachos are a meal! Very nice. The smoked meat is very good as well. The root beer on tap is WORLD CLASS AS WELL. I would go back to Nola and serve it read more

Always end up at The Mews heading home after the URI Basketball games, but not so much as of late. They have a truck out in the parking lot for walk up take out orders and it's a pretty clever system. Burger hasn't changed one bit but it annoys me every time I try to order they change their loyalty program. I tried to order through their App since I had a coupon, called and they said they got rid of it and I would have to order in person for the $5 coupon. I didn't mind as it was an excuse to be out of the house longer. Really would like to know what happened to the lunch club and the rest of the loyalty program. My next order is supposed to be free. The Mews is one of the best hangouts in Wakefield. You can't ever go wrong. My favorite place is the Tree Room where there is actually a giant tree in the middle of the dining area. Other highlights include the dollar bill bar and Celtic bar. Some fun events here include pint nights and annual ski trips! I would recommend the nachos, any burger and the alligator bowl! read more
