Overall 3.5 Stars Located next to a convenience gas station, the "hole in the wall" has become an Orlando favorite. Ambiance: 4 stars [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you walk in, you are immersed with the Hispanic vibe and it is really fun and relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A quick service when you can use a kiosk or cashier to order your food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor has the regional Mexican colors, flags and music is perfecto.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Colorful metal chairs and tables makes it easy to clean and feels cool as you wait for your food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: 3.5 stars The cashier was friendly and polite. Food: 3.5 - 4 Stars 1. Three tacos - chicken, Barbacoa, and chorizo - 4 stars Favorite protein was the chorizo. Seasoned and juicy. The chicken and Barbacoa were a little bit dry. 2. 5 tacos - 3.75 stars Meats were braised beef birria and chorizo. Served on corn tortillas with onions and cilantro. The corn tortillas were dry and thicker than normal. The tacos had one tortilla to hold the ingredients. Other places would use two tortillas as the base. Also, they would have been better if they were heated and a little bit moist. 3. Steak quesadilla - 4.5 - loaded with cheese and diced steak. It was hot and fresh. Cilantro and diced onions are served on the side. It will fill you up. 4. Steak Taco Bowl - 3.5 Very filling w rice as the base and the diced steak was good. However, it was missing frijoles (beans) which was kinda' weird but each regional area is different from each other. 5. Loaded nachos with carne asada (steak). The colorful Chips were crunchy and light. The steak was good however, the cheese was processed nacho cheese instead of freshly melted shredded cheese. The dish can get messy so make sure to have enough napkins. The best proteins were the braised beef (birria) and the chorizo. Both were flavorful and juicy. Price: pretty reasonable for the different menu items. We will come back to try other menu items.

Went to Mexas Tacos because it was the nearest non-chain restaurant to my hotel. It is attached to a gas station convenience store, which means it's either really good or really bad. Fortunately, it was really good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's decorated like many other Mexican restaurants, with colorful sombreros and pinatas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ordering kiosk was as non-functional as the air conditioning that night, so I placed my order with the cashier located below the displayed menu board. They also have a self serve salsa bar. I ordered the birria pizza, and it came fast. I picked it up from the counter less than 5 minutes after placing my order. It was huge, and absolutely stuffed with birria meat, cheese, cilantro, and onions. It came with a cup of consommé, and it was delicious for dipping. I would definitely return.

Place is amazing. Food service was fast and kind. I recommend it. I recommend chicharron prensado tacos!!!

Very good place for tacos although a bit pricey. Maybe I am just out of touch, but tacos were cheap once, you're supposed to eat a bunch and not pay much, but everything is crazy nowadays. Burritos are also good. I enjoyed the sauce selection with great spicy sauce, this place is really good.

Late night tacos at a gas station, love it. It was a long day after a visit to Magic Kingdom, so had to find some eats after the fireworks. Decided to stop by Mexas and got shrimp tacos, a steak quesadilla and an al pastor taco. I like that they have a salsa bar where you can get your own hot sauces ranging from mild to hot. The medium hits nice in terms of flavor and spice. The shrimp tacos were breaded and were ok. In my opinion, I think they would've been better grilled, but nonetheless it was huge and filling as it came with three tacos. The al pastor taco would be what I would get again as the flavor was really tasty and authentic. Right next to a mart where they sell alcohol. Got everything you need here especially with a tired little one in the car. Food was done in 15 mins and we hit the road!

I ordered DoorDash last night and they forgot half of my toppings I asked for Lettuce tomatoes pineapple cheese and sour cream extra limes and cilantro I only got the cheese and sour cream .

Some of the tastiest Mexican food I have tried. Loved the variety of meats they offer in this small, yet cozy establishment. Open til late. Super friendly staff. A nice little variety of sauces to top off your food with. I especially enjoyed their Tamal. Found their Quesadilla (stuffed with barbacoa) a bit too salty for my taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not giving 5 stars b/c patrons of this restaurant need to use the washroom at the annex grocery store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Order food at counter and they will call your name for pick up. Single tacos are $3.15 ea at time of this review. Glad to have this option bc I did not need the beans or rice or other sides. I had 2 tacos. Beef and chicken. I liked beef better. Not the ground beef but barbacoa. I was full and it was delicious. They also had 4 sauces for the tacos at the "sauce bar". I was on a quick business trip that had me in Orlando for about 5 hours. When I landed, I was hungry and craving some Mexican food. Yelp to the rescue. I went to Mexas Tacos. When I arrived, the small place had a steady amount of customers. Many of them were police officers. This made me hopeful since local law enforcement goes to the places that either a) have great food, b) great value, or c) both. I ordered a bowl and a taco. When I took my first bite, I got the answer to my analysis above. It was option c - the food was great and good value. Both dishes were hot as flavorful. At first I liked the taco more, but then I liked the bowl more - then I realized I liked whatever the current bite was more. This place is a gem. It's connected to a gas station so there isn't a ton of parking - that means get there early. I highly recommend this place!

We were in the area looking for tacos and we stumbled across this hidden gem. Service was good. When you walk in you can order via a person at the counter or via a self service pad. The staff were friendly and the location was clean, the place had a family atmosphere. We ordered chips with salsa and queso. The chips were fresh and both dips were seasoned well and tasted great. I ordered 5 tacos (3 carne asada, 1 chicken and 1 carnitas) all tacos came with fresh cilantro, raw onions and a lime wedge. Carne Asada and Chicken were delicious and my favorite. The carnitas taco was ok it was not my favorite. My husband ordered 5 tacos all chicken and he added tomatoes and guacamole. He said they were delicious. I will definitely come back, if you're in the area check them out you won't be disappointed.

Walked in here looking for great Mexican food. Little did we know this was gonna blow our mind! The owner was super hospitable and very kind. So we already established customer service was going to be amazing. We ordered the taco combo (1 tinga, 1 asada, 1 al pastor) The meat was so juicy and i gotta say this is THE BEST al pastor taco I've ever tasted. It had small cubes of pineapple which was very complimenting to the juicy meat. Such a perfect small hole in the wall. If you're looking for great authentic Mexican food that comes with great service and at a great price, this is your spot!! read more

Very humble looking eatery located next to a gas station. The employees are extremely nice and welcoming. They politely answered all of my many questions and made recommendations based on my likes. The tacos are small but filling. I had the asada and the carnitas. Both were well seasoned and flavorful. Great salsas. The prices can't be beat for the quality of the food and the service of the employees. read more

Can't believe we were lucky enough to stumble in here between Flamingo crossings and MCO. FRESH! Delicious! And I'm no expert, but I'm going to say authentic. The guys are SUPER friendly a d helpful and want to know how it went. They suggest favorite sauces, there are a lot of free salsas to choose from, the fish tacos were SO good! Not "fishy" or that nasty over-breading. Just perfect! The veggie quesadilla that can go so wrong (& is not on the menu, usually a concern) had fresh crisp veggies and awesome cheese! They have horchata! Flan! Rice pudding! Passion fruit juice! Even though it's a "hole-in-the-wall" obvious effort has been put into making it bright, cheery and clean and comfy. I'm always up for finding a authentic taco and we found it here. The homemade salsa and chips and the chicken tacos couldn't have been better. And as good as the food was the service was even better. It was obvious these guys love what they do and they are proud of their food, as they should. Great quick stop for some great food! read more

Extremely quick and friendly service. The staff was extremely kind. The location was a bit surprising since it's next to a gas station but the restaurant had a nice cultural feel to it that made you forget you were next to the gas station. The food was actually pretty good and had some good flavor to it. My only negative is that each Taco costs $3. I took the 3 taco combo which resulted in $9. I finished all 3 and didn't feel full so I don't believe the value is there for the price. But to end on a bright note, this local business is working hard and I was greeted with a genuine smile. Overall, it was an enjoyable place to grab a bite. I would recommend it to friends. read more

This was my second time getting take out from Mexas Tacos. On my first visit, all the food was wonderful! Warm, not burnt and very tasty. My only complaint was they did not give me my flam. Tonight was my second time here and the experience was a complete 180! The tacos and churros were good! The elote was stone cold. The mayo was chunky, over seasoned and had a very strong citrus taste. Theae were inedible. The chips were burnt and the salsa had an overabundance of red pepper flakes. Again, inedible. And this time, they left off my empanada. Both times, items we paid for were not included in my bag! To top it all off, forget about calling them to let them know of the discrepancy with the order. The phone rang busy for 1 1/2 hours. I never could make contact with the restaurant reference the problem with my order Save yourself the headache of getting an incomplete order from Mexas Tacos. Just walk in, give them some money and leave! Might as well since they seem to leave items out you ordered and do not seem to care how the quality of their food that they serve is! read more

Best prices, best tacos, best salsa selection, best queso, best cashier named Eduardo, best juices (pineapple pina, watermelon strawberry just to name a few) and fun music! overall GREAT EXPERIENCE. It is located next to a gas station, but usually the best most authentic Mexican restaurants are considered holes in the wall. Family of 5, was looking for a 4+ star experience in the area. Ordered a bunch of stuff - taco bowl, quesadilla, fish and shrimp tacos, salsa and chips, and an empanada. Service was very good, friendly. The fish tacos were above decent (my wife says excellent). But most of the rest we force-fed ourselves because we were starving and it was late. The taco bowl steak meat was stale, the quesadilla smelled strange, the mild salsa had some strange byflavor that I've never tasted before. This was not what we'd hoped for, but if you must eat here we recommend going for the fish tacos. read more

This restaurant was a little bit hidden since it was connected to a gas station market but the food was great! I got two Al Pastor Tacos and one chicken tostada and they tasted pretty authentic. If you are from Orlando/Central Florida area, this place is located next to the gas station that always charges $5-$6 a gallon by International Drive. Tip: Don't get gas there, but get tacos! I would def come back here again and I love that they gave free churritos for appetizer. read more

Best Tacos ever! This was our first time at Mexas Tacos and we absolutely loved it. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Not sure which to try so we got six different ones. We were told "make sure you try the first sauce" which looks like a lime/mustard and it was AWESOME, our favorite. We were warned that the far right two were hot, so tried the one with fewer noticeable chili seeds, it was HOT. Also got some sour cream, which helped plus the chips and salsa. Seen some other reviewers stating that the chips are thick, they are but we enjoyed them. I expect to see this place on triple D soon. Overall a great cheap meal, definitely coming back to Mexas Tacos. read more

Being from CA, I knew the quality most likely would not be the same as I am accustomed to but I did not expect it to be close to intolerable as this. First, the woman taking our order was on the phone nearly five-minutes as we waited to place our order. When she hang up, stated it's was someone trying to sell her something (you made a paying customer wait for a telemarketer)???? We brought the food back to our hotel and our order was incomplete. The taco salad had the worst consistency and very little chicken. We asked for one of the four taco salads to be dairy-free (no cheese and no sour cream), all had one or both ingredients! The shell on the taco salads were only crunchy in certain areas, the rest of the shells were soggy. Both my wife's tacos were not included when we arrived back to the hotel. Yes, maybe we should have checked all items while at the store but spending $65, I thought they would have been thorough. read more

So so so so good Food (4.5/5): the tostadas are to die for. And the quesadillas are wonderfully cheesy and fresh. I highly recommend the Mayan pork and the tinga chicken for the meats! Docked 0.5 because the corn tortillas for the tacos were a set and a bit hard to chew, the Al pastor was also a tad bit on the dry side. We also got the taco salad and the fried tortilla bowl and guacamole was absolutely delicious! Price (5/5): such a good price for delicious authentic food! Atmosphere (4/5): quick service restaurant so don't expect a fancy dine in atmosphere but everything was very clean. Service (5/5): lovely chef in the kitchen also runs the cash, she was super friendly and gave good tips on which meats go well with which items! Everyone else that helped serve us also did it with a big smile and great attitude! read more

I live about 3 miles from this little hole in the wall and I was skeptical at first. But I was really impressed with the quality of the food and service. The decor was odd but kitschy and fit the type of restaurant. I feel like this place could be overlooked given it's location. This is my new favorite place to eat on my days off and whenever. Now- if they would serve menudo or pozole on the weekends I'd be here every weekend. Now to the food... one would think that tostada are easy to make but unless you're my grandmother you probably couldn't make them right - Mexas is the exception. Very friendly owner that is eager to talk about the menu, ingredients, and make recommendations. The place gets busy, but food is prepared very quickly. No matter what you order, make sure you grab some of the homemade sauces. The horchata and deserts are very good too. To the owner of the attached gas station charging international tourists $6.99/gallon - SHAME on you. read more

How good can gas station tacos be? Turns out not, not bad at all. Mexas is a solid taqueria type Mexican place that serves a few extras like menudo and posole. Tried the tacos, they were good - served on a single corn tortilla that has been grilled. They also offer an assortment of 6 aguas frescas and the jamaica/hibiscus tea was very good. A warning that the papas and chorizo filling is more potato than it is sausage and therefore didn't have the spice or oil I was really looking to sink my teeth into. Probably best to avoid that option unless your looking for more starch in your diet. If you're in the area and hankering for Mexican or are looking for some cheaper eat, definitely try Mexas, but I wouldn't advise going out of your way to eat here. read more

Really wanted to love this place but instead I just like it. I ordered the taco salad bowl with pastor, chips and salsa, and the churros with a horchata to drink. First off, the service was really good and the people there are very friendly and helpful for sure. Now the food. The chips were good and made that day but definitely early that day as they were just a bit getting stale. The salsa was fantastic. The taco bowl was very generic and like one you would find at any restaurant that has that on the menu. The pastor was flavored well but not the most tender and the rest of the ingredients were again nothing special. The crispy shell was very good and held together well. Now here is where this place shines! They have a salsa bar with home made salsas. I tried all five and each one was better than the next. The horchata and the churros were very good. I would go back but I think I would go with the tacos for sure. read more

Misleading Drink Advertising I paid over $3 for the branded Talkin' Tacos water shown on the menu. Instead, the employee handing out food dropped two tiny Pure Life bottles, one of the cheapest waters you can buy. My wife and I were shocked. This felt like false advertising and set the tone for the rest of the visit. Incorrect Order & Staff Attitude My food came out with sour cream, which is not listed as a topping for the item I ordered. I don't eat dairy, and when I pointed it out, the employee grabbed the tray, walked off, then came back and shoved it in front of me while insisting "this is what you selected." Completely unprofessional. The helpful employee stepped in and offered to remake it, but by then the experience was already ruined. Food Quality The food itself was bland and lacked flavor. My son barely ate his meal and said it wasn't good, which says a lot about the overall quality. Overall Value Between the misleading drink presentation, rude staff interaction, incorrect order, and mediocre food, Talkin' Tacos simply isn't worth the price. With better taco options nearby, I won't be returning to this location.

After spending the morning in Animal Kingdom at Disney World, my family and I stopped by Mexas Tacos in Orlando Florida. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable, making it a really easy stop if you're staying around International Drive or heading back from the parks! There is plenty of parking available too. Their menu has all sorts of tacos, burritos, quesadillas and so much more! Some of their tacos include the following Shrimp Tacos Taco de Pollo Taco de Asada Taco de Carnitas Taco de Chicharron Taco de Lengua and so much more! I ended up getting both steak and chicken tacos, and both were delicious! The meat was flavorful, well seasoned, and tasted fresh, and the tacos had that simple quality where they don't need a ton of extras to be amazing! After walking around Animal Kingdom all day, it was a perfect lunch with a soda! I really appreciated was how quick the service was! We got our food fast, which was nice after a early morning at Animal Kingdom where you just want to sit down and eat for awhile! The restaurant itself was also pretty quiet when we visited, so it felt relaxed and easygoing. Mexas Tacos was a great place to stop buy after visiting Disney World for lunch. Don't even tell me you like Mexican food duper not eating here!!! This is one of the best authentic Mexican spots I've found in twenty years of traveling for work!!! Your missing out if you don't go. The green sauce I don't know what it is but it's amazing and their hot Ted sauce will get you but it's damn good too.
