As a family, we've been going to the Dearborn location since the '80s - the Canton location, since 2005. It's a staple, a classic, comfort food, a great family get together, anything associated with feeling good and happiness. For the first time I ordered something different from my standard 4 rotation- the fully loaded tostada. OMG!! This alone could feed a family. I didn't make a dent in it but I got three or four more meals at home out of it. It was DELICIOUS even though maybe not the most beautiful My advice, try out other menu items out of your rotation - you will not be disappointed. Not very happy with Mexican fiesta the last order they couldn't get it right and neither of the other couple of orders that I have for pickup call try to talk to a manager and sounds like you're talking to a high school kid which just really don't care about the issues that they're having with your food and suggesting that you come on back and pick up the right order which ain't going to happen then to top it off I'm dipping my hot chips in salsa and I put it in my mouth and I'm chewing on something and it turns out it's a onion peel, not a small piece but a piece the size of a half dollar. It took another 7-10 mins for us to be greeted by a waitress who had absolutely the worse attitude. Food came out wrong, I asked for a refill and never got it. Last time I did my review was back in 2009... lol yeah it's been a while. I haven't been to Canton area in years, so since I had to go to Ikea, decided to stop by for lunch. There's a road construction at the corner of the restaurant, so expect some delays. Not much has changed, other then their menu and the prices. Now you can order 3 or 2 tacos - wasn't sure if you could still do the the 1 taco order with 2 sides or not... but I opted to order the two tacos. The flavors of the food has not changed, their coleslaw was still awesome. You get chips/salsa - they are now using styrofoam cups for the salsa, on top of that, they provide you with small bowls. This seems like a waste and unnecessary step. Why produce more trash when you can avoid it? If covid is an excuse, then I think it's time to consider going back to the pourable jars. While I won't be back on a regular basis, I'll be back again for sure. Especially once the construction has been completed. read more

We went to dinner here on Friday evening 1/2/26. This has been a staple in mine and my wife's family for 25 plus years. We put our drink order in, Me and my wife got a liter of the Classic Margherita and my mother in law got a diet. The drinks came and I poured my a glass of margherita and instantly noticed carbonation bubbles like it was Soda. When the waitress came back I was told that they have a new recipe and they top the mix off with Sprite. It says nothing of this on the menu. I asked for a different top shelf margherita with no sprite and said we would still have to pay for Sprite Cocktail($24.99). I said we would just take the bill, The lady at the cash register told me that they do not put Sprite in the Margherita and I assured her the waitress told me she did. Needless to say terrible Drinks, Chips and salsa is more like chips and hot sauce and the portions have been cut in half yet the price has went up 40% across the board. On Dec. 17th we called and placed our dinner order for 8 people, when I got there on Dec. 24th, they asked what name it was under and the young lady couldn't find it, then more people came up asking the same question what the name is and then disappeared never to return. I've been going to the Mexican Fiesta in Dearborn Hgts since I was a boy in the 70's and never had one problem, I've been to this place in Canton that I live less than 2 miles from twice now and hated both times, I will never be back to this location. Since none of them seemed to care I just want them to know they almost ruined my Christmas party luckily my son and daughter in-law had some awesome U-Bake Italian Bakery pizza's along with that and the great company we made the best of it. We use to be a loyal customer but done!! We ordered take out today, we're over charged and we were not giving the food we ordered even though it was questioned on pick up. We ordered a dinner that included a tamale. We received in a separate plastic container with was maybe 2 in long and as thick as crayon. How this can even be charged for? When I called the restaurant to ask about the overcharge a girl picked up the phone and started to talking to the man at the other register where I could hear him say, do not answer when we are this busy, let it die down, they carried on the conversation with me saying "hello, hello" and finally hanging up. There is very little bad I can find in Mexican food. Until I ate at Mexican Fiesta. I had eaten here years ago and couldn't even finish the meal, it was so bad. But I was craving tacos and thought maybe they had improved. Or, alternatively, how can you mess up tacos. Well, to answer the questions: no, they haven't improved and yes, you can mess up tacos. I had the three beef tacos with beans and rice. The meat was cooked in some type of sauce and was just gross. The beans and rice lacked flavor. I ate one taco and dumped the rest. Taco Tuesday cravings possessed us once again so decided to try another Tex Mex place in the city of Canton. One thing I noticed about this city is there is a lack of high quality Mexican food. The only way you are gonna get your fix is if you go to a chain or fast food place. Mexican Fiesta definitely falls in the former category. It's the kind of food you would expect from an establishment like this and nothing beyond that. I wasn't very impressed with their offerings, but it did get the job done. Ground beef looked like a used diaper and the lettuce in the chicken taco was too warm (wish they included it separately to keep it from getting soggy). But on the positive this place is better than Los Tres Amigos overall in my opinion. Hope we get a truly good taqueria in Canton one day. read more

You know how there are those places that aren't the best food, but you've gone there all your life and it's nostalgic, so you continue to go there? That's what Mexican Fiesta was for us. We'd been customers since our parents took us to the Dearborn location as kids and we continued at the Canton location, since it's closer to home. But after over 45 years, we are done based on crummy customer service. A couple of months ago, we ordered takeout and discovered when we unpacked dinner that they had forgotten to pack the two pints of rice we ordered to go with our botana. We called and the manager we spoke to said if we didn't want to come back and pick it up (which we didn't), they would note that they owed us a couple pints and they'd "take good care of us because of their mistake". Today, I tried to call and place an order, but they did not answer the phone. I know they prefer you to order online, but I couldn't due to the credit. I drove there, went in and explained the situation. They looked it up and informed me that I only had a credit for one rice because that's all I paid for. To be completely honest, I don't know exactly what I paid for because this was two months ago and I really didn't think I needed to save the receipt. I explained that I know we had ordered two (because we always do) and that the manager we spoke to that day never said otherwise. The manager today, kept insisting I could pay for another, but she was only giving me one because that's all I paid for. It's not like the $3.00 is going to break me, but the point is you screwed up and now you're arguing with me over a pint of rice? That is terrible customer service. I took the stupid pint of rice and left. Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen, and if I'm being honest, Mexican Fiesta isn't even as good as several others in the area. So since they're going to be petty, undependable and impossible to reach, we're done with that old family tradition. I prefer to support business that appreciate their customers. read more

I and my wife like to eat Mexican food from time to time and went to this restaurant because of the close proximity to are home. The day was Saturday evening around 6 and it was not crowded.Ten minutes passed and we're seated and so far so good. We ordered some soft taco and some enchiladas and we started to eat the hot chips and salsa sauce. The problems started with the salsa, because it was very runny and tasted bland,both hot and mild. The food arrived and just from looking at the food, you could tell, this was not going to go well. The taco was soft flour and had a bunch of lettuce and a little meat. I asked for cheese on mine. I guess they ran out. The enchiladas were all cheese and u had to use a fork to cut it.The refried bean had to consistency of soup and all most ran off the plate. I could go and on about this disaster but I want. I just don't see the point. They took my number and said I'd get a text when the table was ready. Then we see a sign taped to a pillar near the check in that says if we intend to pay with a card we have to pay a 4% surcharge?? We have to pay the restaurant's CC fees?? Then I get a text saying my table is ready... and that they have expectations of how long I can stay and eat. 75 minutes. So this has been my family's favorite restaurant for YEARS. Sadly things have changed and we've decided this is not going to be the place we go anymore. I'm tired of constantly having my order incorrect just to some BS explanation as to why. One absolute always wrong thing are the number of chips you get. I ordered a bag of chips for $4.50 (a lot in my opinion), plus we got chips with our $11.00 guacamole (yes I checked the "with chips" option with the guac.). We only got the same standard sized bag we always get. When asked, they'll tell you it's the right amount for your order, but if I'm paying $4.50 for what would be LESS than that bag it's a total ripoff. The reality is they've gotten super stingy with that stuff and good chips and salsa are an important part of the experience for us. We're sadly just done with the nickel and diming. We don't complain about the upcharge for credit cards, and we've accepted the price hikes. What we're NOT willing to accept is paying for those extras and then getting LESS of an experience. I really hope someone from Mexican Fiesta reads these reviews, because I will tell you everyone we know that's been a Mexican Fiesta lover has the same issues, and until you learn how important the customer experience is, it's going to come back and bite what once was a fabulous restaurant. read more

Stopped in to have lunch with a friend! Started out with salsa and chips (5 stars)! Chips were beyond fresh with the oil still sizzling and salsa was great if you don't like any spicy! They did bring a side of hot just incase! I had the wet burrito and she had the chicken enchiladas! For 100% transparency, we were seated at 8:05pm and the restaurant closes at 8:30pm on a Saturday. We didn't realize this until after we had already ordered drinks. Parking lot was completely full of cars. The bad: The food The prices The good: The service The food was extremely bland. The refried beans had almost no taste. On par with canned. Mexican rice is supposed to be dry and fluffy, this rice was wet and mushy. The chips looked freshly made as they still were glistening with oil, but the oil was definitely old. The also were unsalted. To top it all off, the 2nd basket of chips is $3.50! The salsa was a little watery. The Tacos al carbon were ok at best, but for $17 I would've expected much, much better. The waitress was very nice. We ordered queso, but she said that it got scorched, and didn't feel it was right to serve it to us. She is the reason there are 2 stars, instead of 1.
