Going to Mexico Lindo is like stepping into Mexico. I (and whatever non-Latinos I'm with) are always the only non-Latino people there. Definitely a neighborhood haunt and it is always packed when I go. Huge portions. Their Flamingo is great, but not for the faint of heart - it's a deep-fried (and large) burrito. Why other people don't deep-fry burritos is a mystery to me after i first had one, there. Crispy, flaky tortillas should always surround a tasty burrito. Note: do not get seafood on sunday. several friends have gotten sick because of it. apparently, they get new seafood on mondays and stuff on sunday is leftover and often spoiled. read more

Great carne asada! My first time in Pomona and in town for business. My co-workers and I were looking for something authentic and this place seems to be it. We searched for Mexican restaurants and this place popped up. I will say that it doesn't seem to be in the best part of town, but having never been to the area we decided to give the place the benefit. When we pulled into the parking lot, there were two police cars parked, which made us feel a little better about the neighborhood. We assumed that if police officers were eating there for dinner, it must be good. Our assumptions were correct. The inside is small, but seemed clean. The staff was small and their accents were very thick. We asked for the best thing on the menu and the carne asada de la mexicana was the first thing mentioned without hesitation. All of the dinner meals come with soup or salad, which was different than any other Mexican restaurant any of us had been to. The food is amazing. They only have bottled or canned beer, but we didn't mind. This place is highly recommended and the next time I'm in this part of town, I'll be back. read more

Wow, just had this for lunch with my coworkers and it was amazing! Got the lunch combo with the cheese enchilada and the carne asada taco with rice. I just knew there had to be a gem of a mexican restaurant near my house and Mexico Lindo is it!! Decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. I ordered the steak picado plate. Husband ordered three crunchy tacos plate (chicken, shredded beef, fish tacos). My kids ordered carne asada & been/cheese burrito. Our friend had the taco enchilada combo plate. You can always tell the quality of Mexican restaurant by their retried beans. Once I tasted Mexico Lindo's beans i knew we were going to have a good meal. EVERYTHING was delicious and when I say everything, that includes the chips & salsa & the horchata drinks. My steak picado was the best I've ever tasted. Husband said all three tacos were delicious and the fish taco stood out as fabulous. We were all so stuffed and happy after our meal. We found our home for Mexican food at Mexico Lindo. Just finished dinner here on our Sunday drive back from Palm Springs and I am thoroughly satisfied. The shrimp cocktail photos on yelp lured me in and Mexico Lindo did not disappoint. I had a medium shrimp cocktail with avocado and it was delicious! Extremely generous portion of succulent shrimp. Didn't even need the crackers that came with it. I also tried a grilled fish taco a la carte but it was a little bland. Don't bother. Boyfriend got the carne asada mexicana, generous portion. The steak was decent for the price but the peppers and onions on top made it shine. I tried his rice and beans and I really enjoyed both; great authentic taste. Since my meal was so healthy I capped it off with a slice of flan. It's the very thick, almost cheesecakey type which was tasty but I just have a natural love for the more eggy type. Overall, good food, good service. Highly recommend the shrimp cocktail with avocado. Oh an the chips and salsa were good too. Nice kick to the salsa. read more

Placed an over the phone order, when I arrived to pick it up Gloria told me to wait while she was on her cell phone. Then she asked if I was there for pick up and I said yes. She then gave me my food and said my order came with soups and/or salads which should have been asked over the phone as I was just there to pick it up for my wife. I waited another 10 minutes by the counter while I wanted for my sides, someone offered to help her and she neglected it as I felt she was trying to waste my time and get me to react to her negative energy. We spent $63 on food tonight and deserve some decent customer service, this is unexceptable. I then asked for a plastic bag to put the side orders in ,she offered me a box. I first said yes but figured it was to much. A plastic bag was fine so I said never mind but she insisted and grabbed my food after I said no. I am eating "The Flamingo" lunch special as I type this, I am taking little breaks because I don't want to eat it too fast. It is THAT good. It's a deep fried chicken burrito with rice and beans. They put guac, sour cream, and cheese on top and it is a decent sized burrito. I think it could definitely last for two meals, but I don't think you will want to wait to finish it. This place is one of those diamond in the rough restaurants. It doesn't look like anything special from the front, but checking yelp is proof that you can't judge a place by its curb appeal alone. They have pictures on the menu which really do look exactly like the food when it comes out. The food is great, prices are really good, parking is okay, salsa is good, and the staff is very friendly. I ordered food to go and the lady was so nice. I thought she was going to look at me all weird because it's mostly Mexican customers. I have been discriminated against in the past so I include it in my rating at some restaurants. This is one of those restaurants that gets regulars for a reason. They care about the food and how it is prepared. There's no filler in the burritos and plenty of meat. YUM! I will definitely be going back and this time I will sit down at a table instead of take out to see how the rest of the wait staff treat people. It's not the best area, but if you go during the day it feels safe. Quaint & fast. From sit down to walking out it was exactly an hour, which for my family of 5 is fast. Michelada Corona & Horchata lived up to the hype they were both delicious! Maybe I need to start a list of restaurants that I review when I try their chilaquiles. If I do, I believe Mexico Lindo would be near the top of the list for best chilaquiles. The tortilla in the chilaquiles was freshly fried, just a little soft from the sauces, but still crunchy on the edges, making for a very tasty composition. The chilaquiles are available in both red and green, and you can choose how your eggs are prepared. The beans were also really good, not bland, not too salty, nice and smooth and clearly fresh. The waitress was sweet, she kept coming by to refill my coffee and water. If you are in the area and looking for a lunch spot here it is!!! Seriously the best part of this restaurant is the service. The waiters are always on top of the drink refills and chip refills. The food does not take long to come and they will get you on your way quick and back on time for work. I usually get the "Q" which is a cheese enchilada, chile relleno and rice and beans.... It's somewhere around 5 to 6 bucks and comes with a drink. It may be a little warm but it will not be unbearable. It does get crowded during the 12 o'clock lunch hour. I am a seafood fan and i have been coming here for a few years and i have never gotten sick. A good hint that the seafood is fresh, clean and well cooked!
