Went last night for an early dinner around 530. We had made reservations a week or so ago but there…read morewere free tables so you probably could just walk in as well. The place is super cute and decorate well! It's clean and a everyone was so nice and attentive which made for a really welcoming environment. I really wanted to love the food but my Italo Peruano was way too spicy when the description on the menu/the ingredients listed didn't indicate anything that would give it that much heat. Also the steak was cut very large for being served in a pasta dish and in a bowl where it was very difficult to cut it. The Lomo was good but too salty. The dessert we shared however was amazing! We got the churros which came with chocolate sauce, strawberry puree and Lucuma ice cream! They told us it was a South American fruit! It's hard to describe the flavor but it was awesome! Kind of like a caramel/butterscotch with notes of sweet potato and maple syrup! It doesn't sound like it would all work together but it absolutely does! Overall we had a good experience and would be totally willing to come try the food again next time we are in the area!

I am all in on Lima 32 Peruvian restaurant. Back in January, I noticed the Lima 32 sign in the old…read moreTacos mi Nachos space in Meriden. Something about the sign aesthetic made me think it would be a good place. I Yelp-Searched it, and Lima 32 damn near had a perfect rating based on less than 50 reviews. I'm a Food Blogger. So I try to explore new places and avoid repeating spots I know. I've eaten at Lima 32 three times since January. Lima 32 is a small casual Peruvian spot located in a very small plaza in Meriden. Parking is tough, but they've done a nice job with the aesthetics inside. Lima 32 is also available on DoorDash within a certain area. I've now had the Lomo Saltado, the Arroz Con Marisco and the Chaufa de Pollo. Best Lomo Saltado I've ever had, and I've had a really expensive one at a famous CT spot. It's basically a beef and veggie stir fry. You can see the chef making it with fire in the pan if you have the right seat. The soy and oyster sauce based glaze is good salty. So flavorful and everything is perfectly cooked. Best Arroz Con Marisco I've ever had. It's a saucy Peruvian paella. The sauce (Aji Amarillo) has a well rounded creamy pepper flavor. The seafood, like crab, mussels and shrimp really stand out. I suspect the seafood varies depending on what's available. The Chaufa de Pollo, a Chinese fried rice style dish, was very good too. Huge pieces of chicken. Eat it with the delicious Aji Verde sauce. Is Lima 32 hidden? I don't know. But it sure the hell is a gem. It's must visit. 5 Stars

This delicious dish is called Polla Saltado a lo pobre. I substituted the french fries for another scoop or rice.

We actually didn't know anything about and what they served. Inside was beautifully decorated and we were seated quickly. We looked at the menu and saw they served Peruvian food. We never had it. We started with the trio empanadas and each one was delicious. If I had to choose one I pick the chicken as the top empanada. I didn't know what to order for the entree and the waiter recommended the Seco De Tría and Lomo Saltado. One was a short rib and the other was a beef stir fry. Both were very delicious! The waiter was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back here again.

The beef empanadas were flavorful and satisfying, while the cheese and guava had more of a sweet, dessert-like vibe, which was a nice surprise. Both were delicious in their own way. I also loved the roasted corn they serve at the table. It is such a great touch. The dipping sauce had a nice little kick to it that added extra flavor without being overwhelming. The space itself is beautifully decorated, creating a really inviting atmosphere, and they even have a drive through, which is super convenient. On top of it all, the service was excellent. I would definitely come back, even if it is just for a quick bite again!

I have been wanting to try Los Andes and was thrilled to finally pay it a visit…read more We sat in the courtyard patio, which was absolutely lovely. The ambiance (and the service) is the star of the show at Los Andes. The relaxing South American music, the koi pond, the hum of happy diners all contributed to a lovely atmosphere. Our server was a true delight, very attentive, making great recommendations. We did not order desert but one of our party had a birthday and when we informed him we had no room for desert he brought out a plate with happy birthday drizzled in chocolate with a small mound of whipped cream and a strawberry. A very nice touch. I ordered a steak dish with the goal of getting as many South American flavors in my dish as possible- it came with a delightful cold salad, very good chimichurri, fried yuca, and a side of cheesy rice. The steak was cooked rare to my liking, which isn't always the case. It was a lot of food, beware. We started with some empanadas- which were also good, and this made it a Thanksgiving level feast. My party also enjoyed their dishes. Overall it was a lovely dinner! We look forward to returning.

We arrived about 6pm and were lucky enough to score a two seat table. It was almost filled to capacity with lots of diners enjoying their meals. With great Latin music playing and laid back vibe, I was looking forward to a great meal. John our server was polite and efficient. We started off with traditional Peruvian golden lager, Cusquena. Crisp and delicious! Two ceviche appetizers and two steak entrees. We're ceviche lovers and throughly enjoyed those dishes. The Honey enjoyed his Lomo Saltado. The traditional Peruvian stir fry dish. Strips of beef sirloin, red peppers, onions and tomatoes. Served with French fries and white rice. My Tacu Tacu Steak with rice and beans was a hit, and miss. The steak was tough and the rice and beans, really "starchy". It's hard to explain they tasted heavy and sticky. The portions are generous so I had leftovers for home. Surprisingly, the dish tasted better the next day. The menu highlights their Happy Hour and Wine Down Wednesdays. We're looking forward to returning for one or both :) of those! For some warm vibes, good service and fresh food this place is worth a visit. Thank me later.....
