I've eaten here many a time, and generally the food is pretty good - so much so that occasionally we've ordered take out, and have used their grab and go and online ordering to get our meals. Fast forward to today. Ordered dinner for the family and went in to pick it up. On my way out the door I looked in the bag and some of the dishes seemed very small - like less than half full. So I popped off the top and looked. My dish had chicken shawarma in it. Missing; corn? missing; spicy hummus? missing. I walked up to the counter and started asking questions. First the response I got was "we made them to order", then I asked about the missing shawarma, and was told "Oh, that's my fault - we are out of a lot of things and so we left it off". No attempt to call me (my number was right there on the ticket) and no attempt to notify me when I picked up the order. Apparently their policy is "if we don't have it, and you ordered it, we just leave it off" I asked why they didn't call, and was told "we didn't have your number." I pointed out to them that they online ordering system indicates they'll call for problems with the order. I asked when I picked up the order why they didn't notify me - was told "well, sometimes we have a lot of orders and its hard to keep track". I asked why they didn't substitute chicken kebab for chicken shawarma, or regular hummus for spicy hummus (both of which they did have) and was told "we don't want to give you something you don't want." At the end of the day, there wasn't much of an apology, or interest in keeping me, the customer notified of when they leave stuff off. That entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth (or perhaps lack of taste from my missing spicy hummus, corn, and shawarma.) We will go back? Probably not likely. Management doesn't care about giving you what you order, and that kind of callous attitude to the customer stinks of carelessness, and if they are willing to short change you in one way, it's likely that attitude is pervasive throughout the restaurant... We each chose the bowl offering for lunch and each chose which of the excellent variety of Mediterranean items was to be included in our bowl. Considering the amount of food in each bowl, the pricing was appropriate. The service line staff were friendly. All said and done, we each chose our options well and enjoyed the meal. The items were fresh enough though, in my opinion, they would have been fresher had the table where items were on display was of a better design. Each item was open to the air and subject to drying out, most notably the rice. While we were there the room temperature was probably cold enough to hang meat. We will return. read more

We ordered the custom Wrap with Falafel and "Mezeh had a little Lamb" for lunch. Let me start with the Lamb bowl, the lamb had no taste, half the ingredients that go in the bowl were absent like the pilaf, turnips, mango, all missing plus there was no Tahini sauce. It was dry as paper. Secondly, the custom wrap was also missing most of the toppings like the eggplant, cucumber, turnips, roaster vegetables and the worst was they did not put any of the sauces. Without the sauce its just impossible to eat this since its so dry. And the sauce we had asked was nothing fancy, just tahini and tzatziki which are like the most 2 common sauce of the Mediterranean dishes. In short - DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. We really enjoyed Mezah. Stopped there on the way to Wegman's last night (it's right across the street). I found the food was fresh and wholesome. Lots of veggies, grains and lean meats on the menu. We were headed to Panera when we drove past poor Mezeh's sad little burned out sign, and I said to my husband "How bad could it be? The sign is already promising 'Eh'!" And just as I was hoping, our experience was leaps and bounds above what we could have expected! Mezeh is a new Mediterranean restaurant with a setup similar to Chipotle (or Cava). You pick if you want a bowl, wrap, or flatbread, and then pick your protein, rices, vegetables, add-ons, and dressings. They have a huge assortment of delicious options, and I think between my husband and myself we must have tried nearly 75% of the salads/vegetables. For protein, I had the chicken kabob, and my husband had the shredded lamb. Both of our bowls were delicious, and we felt like they were also very healthy. Plus, the bowls are so large that I saved half of mine for lunch tomorrow! I am now a huge fan of Mezeh, and will be back often! They just need to get their sign fixed! read more

My husband and I went on opening day and have already been back at least 3 times it's becoming our go-to "we don't wanna cook at home but don't we wanna eat greasy take out". I go for the chicken bowl- I'm still torn between if I like the shawarma or the kebob better, I have switched it up a couple times. My husband goes for the steak. The toppings are fantastic and we love that you can get as much as you want- job extra cost. Now for the cons- The staff are still working on consistency of service but food quality has stayed consistent. This place is OPEN -- notwithstanding Yelp's status Mezeh continues to add locations in the Triangle with the latest in Apex at the junction of 64 and 55. This location just opened on 8/26 with friendly staff and fresh food. This is a "build you own bowl" type of place with one of more base (greens, spinach, rice, cauliflower rice), protean (chicken, lamb, falafel, steak) and a TON of toppings to choose from, the most I've seen of any place like it. You can also get it in a pita or wrap. The best thing is the food is fresh AND tasty -- full of flavors from that part of the world. The hardest part is to choose which toppings, sauces, and hummus you want, given all the choices you have. Not sure if there is a limit on the number but it's higher than the number of toppings I asked for (around 10). Check out the eggplant topping - excellent! The roasted chickpea is also very good and adds a nice crunchy texture to it. The décor is inviting, and very nicely themed. The price is on par with other restaurants of this type but the food and the selection is much better. The portion size is generous. Many will be able to get a meal and half or two meals out of one bowl order. We ate there on opening day and was told the outdoor seating area will be installed shortly (within a few days) so by the time you read this, it's probably done. This is a great addition to the Apex / Cary / Morrisville area. We now have two of them -- one here in Apex and another one at the Wegmans plaza on Davis Drive just over the Cary border in Morrisville. Both are excellent places. read more

Similar issues as noted with ordering pickup. I ordered 3 lunch items for a group, picked up a few minutes past the time stated and was quickly handed my order in a sealed bag and out the door. So far awesome and easy. After getting back one of the 3 items was missing entirely and the other 2 (bowl and wrap) missing ingredients we custom ordered. Before we even ate I called the restaurant directly for a refund of the missing item and tip... and was told the item is at the store and came out after I had picked up. Then get this.. they told me they cannot do refunds but will give me a credit I can use attached to my phone number in the future or they could deliver it. Yeah nope....first thing in customer service is when you screw up you fix it. So 3 of us shared the remaining two lunches and no one thought it was very good as we searched for missing items and referred back to the receipt where we clearly added them to be included. So avoid this place... on my side I sent an email to their website contact us and the credit card company can deal with the dispute for the missing food. read more

Ordered via Uber Eats two chicken shawarma bowls with felafel, original (not spicy) hummus, chickpeas, lemon & garlic dressing, tzatziki, plus an extra "freshly baked pita." We ate two bites from the bowls and it was so spicy that my lips started getting numb. Called the restaurant, nobody answered, left a voicemail. No response from the restaurant, not even 24 hours later. Completely inedible food: bowl far too spicy for human consumption, "freshly baked pita" ($2.50 extra charge!) was a stale supermarket pita cut in half; flavorless felafel tasted like it was a heated-up leftover from two days ago. Why no answering calls from a delivery customer? What are our options when delivery food simply cannot be eaten? read more

Mezeh food is delish and healthy. But this review is for this specific location. They seem to have a serious inventory management problem. Frequently out of chicken or some such key ingredient. As early as 7pm, when they supposedly stay open till 9 or 10pm. I'm sure they'll cite reasons such as "we keep it fresh, so small-batch it". But that doesn't help a hungry soul who's driven some distance, dreaming of chicken kebab, and now has to scramble for chick fil a. Improve your stock management or consider shutting down at 8pm, so you don't have to turn people away. read more

Worst service, had to wait outside the facility for 12 min because the doors were locked with a handwritten sign indicating they were "short staffed" and wouldn't open till 8:50 pm - Looking inside 3 staff were sitting at the tables. Online ordering is horrible placed an order at 11:58am for lunch. App said it would be ready by 12:13pm. It's now 1pm and it's still not ready. This is ridiculous the owner needs to look into how to manage this business. This is the second time it's happened. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told they didn't have one there. Wonderful little gem in Apex, NC. Amazing service and our server Lashea was completely awesome. The food was absolutely delightful and very filling. We ordered for our whole family. I wanted so badly to like this place...we were on a road trip with 5 kids & this looked like a healthy option. All the kids got bowls with rice, beef shawarma & some veggies. We took the bowls to the park & the kids wouldn't eat it because the beef was so spicy! Not advertised as spicy, & the girl serving us never mentioned a spice level. The burnt out sign says it all - "eh". It was good when it first opened, but it seems like they don't really know what's going on. The offerings have changed (no more small bowls), bowls don't come with pita like they did when they first opened, and their card reader and cash register rarely work. They are usually out of more than half of the meat and topping options, not because of covid supply chain issues, but because they forgot to make more or didn't feel like making more. I've been here when they didn't have any meat/protein options available, and this was several hours before they close! All in all, if you get lucky and they have what you want and it's fresh, it's really good, but good luck getting that. read more
