How could this place get any better???? They now serve salads topped with any of their meats, sauteed onions, peppers and other standard toppings. I only wish this place was closer to home but then we'd likely never get in since it would be so crowded. It takes a bit of a field trip to get to this place and that's an okay thing. read more

Great sandwich! I had the Beef Brisket which had melt in your mouth beef on an onion bun. I put horseradish on my sandwich that took it to another level. There are many topping selection, but I wanted to just taste the beef on my first experience. My only complaint is that the sandwich cost too much for the amount of product that you get. The staff behind the counter are not too friendly, and they kind of push you for a tip on a grab and go product. While I had no problem giving a time, I held the tip down to a minimum because of their lack of engagement that would give the customer a good experience. I probably will go back if I am in the area, and hungry, but I will not make a special trip to the establishment because of the service staff. read more

I love the sandwiches here and I come here often but the Customer Service is lacking. Its a bummer because although I am loyal, I can rarely find someone who will come here with me twice because of the service. I guess I'm used to it...which probably isn't a good thing. After driving past this oddly situated pointy shaped dining joint, I finally gathered the drive to park (once I figured out WHERE to park it) and slipped inside MGM for a quick breakfast. The first thing that struck me is that the place was spotless...I mean CLEAN. No sticky mystery residue anywhere. AND...they accept VISA !! The waiter was properly professional, capable and attentive. The timing of the order taking and meal delivery was swift. The food was delicious and FILLING. They do cook with Peanut oil, so nut allergic types beware and don't order anything deep fried. The food is fresh and tastes great. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The prices can't be beat. Why didn't I know this place existed? I was searching Washington Post online and saw an ad for a WETA program for great breakfast spots in DC. Well I clicked on it and as I scrolled down the list I noticed MGM Roast Beef. I have been looking for a good breakfast spot near my area that wasn't pretentious like most of the breakfast spots in DC's posh areas. I checked their website and saw the prices were unbelievably low for breakfast in this area!! I grabbed my friend and went down there immediately. My expectations were low at first. I went in and met Ryan and the rest of the friendly crew at MGM. When I saw Ryan carving real meat and not processed meat to make his sandwiches, my attitude changed about what was to come for breakfast as me and my companion started to salivate. The food was great!!! Simple and good!! I had turkey sausage, eggs, grits, home fries, and French toast, and she had blueberry pancakes, turkey sausage, and home fries. I had sweet tea to drink that was actual sweet tea!!! My total for both meals was under $20!! I was so impressed. You can't beat the price for the high quality of food we were served. And the portions were not small. We had a hard time finishing our meal. I tasted my friend's blueberry pancakes, and the fruit was fresh and juicy! We were so impressed that we decided to get some of those made to order sandwiches to go and I can't wait to taste it! The place is really packed during lunch, so I'm sure they will be awesome. I'm so mad that I didn't find this place two years ago! I hope they extend breakfast hours and open up for breakfast on Sundays. Great sandwich shop, you get a ton of meat and they have daily specials, food is great, but when you go here you must have time, the lines are long especially on Fridays when they have crabcake sandwiches. Parking can be a pain, but you can park across the street in the post office parking lot. read more

Very good spot for a quick lunch. The meats are always fresh, and the other fixings are quality as well. My go-to is the chicken salad sandwich, Iove adding the jalapeños to this as they use the fresh ones, not pickled. The only drawback is the prices are a bit high- sandwiches are reasonable but the pricing on the salads is a bit much. The staff has always been nice and they get you through pretty fast. Man i love this place. I go whenever i have free time at the home depot. One of my favorite places to bring friends who think theres nothing in northeast. The meat is cut right there, not prepackaged in plastic rap yesterday into little weighed out portions. The fries are like boardwalk fries, with vinegar at every seat. The staff has always been nice and helpful. I think its the best sandwich joint in town, who needs fancy "gourmet sandwiches" on 14th st. I stopped by MGM for the first time a few weeks ago and was met with a pleasant surprise -- a free sandwich! Apparently, that particular day had been extraordinarily busy and MGM was almost completely out of available sandwich meat. Rather than run the risk of serving me a potentially "average" sandwich, the owner of MGM just gave me one on the house. This is the greatest sandwhich shop ever created. Now, I've had my share of tasty sandwiches but this one takes the cake. The staff is the friendliest I have ever encountered. They will create and form your monster sandwich into your liking. They also create some of the biggest god damn salads I have ever seen. Seriously, you could feed a family of four with these things. They have a large range of different meats including top round roast beef, turkey, honey ham, brisket, and they do occasionally do daily specials that range from crabcake sandwiches and pulled pork. I have been to this place at least a dozen times and have never had a negative experience. You watch them slice and dice the meat in front of you and form it into a tasty sandwich of dripping happiness. They also have a very good homemade iced tea, and a couple of beers on tap. I work down the street from this place, so I'm fortunate enough to be able to eat these godly sandwiches almost two or three times a week. The prices are also amazing and the seating has the feel of an older diner. This place is legit. I reccomend it to anyone who likes a damn good sandwich. read more

Sandwiches are good...but I'm not 100% convinced the quality justifies the price. Though I'm not lost on the fact that they are carving freshly roasted meats right in front of me and making everything to order. That's why it still gets 4 stars in spite of the price. This time I got turkey and bacon on rye with lto, banana peppers, mustard, mayo, oil & vinegar--$13.52. It wasn't as flavorful as the last time, but still did the trick!. The cooks skips over orders, so you may someone who arrived 15min after you receiving their breakfast before you. I have been ordering food here for the past three years. On several occasions, I have place online orders for breakfast sandwiches and then I get a call telling me that the restaurant has run out of basic breakfast menu items, such as wheat bread and croissants. Considering that this is a sandwich shop, it's odd to get a call from the restaurant saying that they have run out of bread. If items are no longer available then customers should not be able to order them on the online menu. It wastes customers' time. MGM should think about ordering more items for the breakfast menu since it seems that they regularly run out of items way before they stop serving breakfast. For example, I placed my order before 10 AM and their breakfast service ends at 10:30 AM, so why would they be out of bread at that time. The service is also very slow once you go in there to pick up your online order. It seems that you have to wait the same amount of time as people who go in to order at the counter. The food is OK, but it's really not worth the hassle when you can't even order what you want to eat because they keep a low stock of menu items. read more
