Mi Cancun is fantastic! Awesome queso and guacamole and delicious margaritas. I visited Mi Cancun for the first time on Saturday with my husband and friends. I checked in on Yelp, and we got our free queso right away. Then I ordered table side guac and the Top Shelf margarita (PS - ALL margaritas are just $5 on Saturdays). The guac was delicious and the margarita was too! It was much larger than expected. The service was great. They checked on us just the right amount of times and kept the chips coming. I ended up ordering another margarita, this time one called the Cadillac, and it was soooo tasty. I highly recommend that one. I would give Mi Cancun 5 stars, but my husband did not like his California burrito. It fell apart upon picking it up, and he said he didn't like the taste. However, my other friends and I thought our meals were tasty. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We will definitely return! read more

Totally over hyped. We were sitting in upper section without ac in 90+ degrees. Utensils were sticky to hold so not cleaned. Staff was sweating as well as customers. Not sure if AC is broken or its like this only, but in such heat they should let customers know upfront and may be don't use such areas for sitting, its all closed up so no air circulation. May be its cheaper food so people crown in but not worth for few dollars to seat in heat and use uncleaned utensils. Food was ok, not unusually good. read more

I wondered why this restaurant had a consistent 4.5 stars on yelp and after two visits, I see why. The salsa here is delicious. The chips are always fresh and hot and I always find the quality of chips and salsa to be a true indicator of the food quality. This restaurant is one of three locations and is always busy. The service is always prompt and very fast. Today we came in before 3pm for lunch and their lunch specials are plentiful and priced below $10. I had the two tacos and you cannot mix and match. I had the chicken tacos with guacamole and pineapple salsa and I was amazed. They are served in a nice silver taco holder and all ingredients were fresh and tasty. The drink specials here are great and if you like beer, they have a draft special on Wednesdays for $1.99. They also have margarita specials and extensive cocktail menu. If you want to watch a game, they have a large projector screen on the far wall and televisions above the bar. Tropical tree photos line the area above the bar and trickling water fountains add a soothing feeling near the hostess stand and bar. Mi Cancun is among my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. My favorite here is the ACP which is amazing and has poblano peppers and onions along with the queso and grilled chicken. It or served over delicious Mexican rice and with tortillas. I also quite like the nachos - I usually order them with refried beans and grilled chicken. My fiance really likes the carne asada - it's very tender and tasty. I do want to try tht stuffed poblano peppers at some point because they sound great. The queso is also really good and the chips are always hot and fresh! We did try two things recently we weren't super impressed with. They weren't bad but we wouldn't order them again - we tried the steak and cheese which is what it sounds like. It was a bit overpowered by the bacon. I tried the pollo chipotle and was disappointed in the spice and the sauce just wasn't The service is pretty standard, nothing special. I will say it's very difficult to use Groupons here. They almost always have them available but they're never easy to use. They will honor them eventually but it takes some effort. read more

This is our go-to local Mexican restaurant in the Morrisville area. Tried so many things on the menu and they're all good. My wife and kids always go with the vegetarian combos and it's great that there are multiple options for them to rotate through. I typically go for Chimichangas, Fajitas, ACP, or chori pollo. Again, recommend it all. Good ambiance and service also, but I've been sticking to take-out most of the time and accuracy of the orders has been really good. read more

Came here tonight with my mama for dinner and was seated with no wait no reservations on a Saturday night. We started off with the cheese dip. OMG so good. Salas and chips nice spice level and FRESHLY made guacamole dip at the time authentic style. Portions are hugh sonwe have so many leftovers. For our main dish we had the salmon tacos with a salad that comes with a vibegerette and steak tacos with rice and beans. All we add was a little salt and pepper and it was delicious. For drink I have a blue coconut margarita it was OK definitely could use an extra shot of tequila. I saw some many drinks float pass me that LOOKED amazing. Such a vibrant place in Raleigh, NC. Loved the giant margarita and the savory luscious chorizo queso. Salsa picante was on point and so was our server. We were a group of 3 people with one being vegetarian. He ordered a veggie burrito and it was a huge burrito that came filled with various vegetables and cheese and beans. He didn't look up from the plate or offered anyone a bite to taste . He just licked the plate clean and concentrated on his beer . Testament of deliciousness. Delightful discovery! First time in that particular part of Morrisville. Cool how the restaurant and other businesses surround & are a part of the houses / townhomes in this subdivision. I'm sure residents walk to this spot regularly. Mi Cancun is suitable for a date-night, a family dinner, lunch or just to have a drink with friends, since they have a bar also. The menu contained great, descriptive selections without overwhelming. The food was fresh and prepared well. I would have preferred a little more flavor but I realize that's a personal choice. Great food + Excellent Service Truly a Morrisville Must. What a delightful surprise Mi Cancun was. My wife and I were looking to eat someplace not too far from the airport on a Friday evening and the Yelp reviews for Mi Cancun raved about it. On a friday night this place is crazy busy, but their servers are quick and we were able to get seated under 20 minutes. Rarely do we eat in this part of the triangle area but Morrisville seems to have a lot of gems hidden away in these various strip malls and shopping centers. Mi Cancun was a fantastic experience. Pro tip for Yelpers - check in and you get a free queso that's actually a decent size amount of queso. Their in-house chips were fresh and had some tasty seasoning on them too. They are so quick to get you chips, salsa and refills on those chips too. It's like a well-oiled machine. We started by splitting their seasonal Watermelon margarita which is a margarita served in half a watermelon with fresh seasoned fruit on the side. It was truly incredible that it only cost $10 for such a massive amount of liquor and fruit. A perfect summer beverage. For our main courses we split Alambre (Strips of grilled chicken or steak (we got the steak) Onions, poblano peppers, mushrooms, bacon, chorizo, pineapple and melted cheese. Served with rice and beans. Along with the Camarones A La Diabla (Grilled shrimp cooked with our spicy diabla hot sauce. Served with rice, beans and tortillas). The Alambre was a very large portion of food. Served steaming hot and goodness was it delicious. The Camarones A La Diabla (were very spicy) but not too spicy for me, but they were too spicy for my wife. So beware, they have some kick to them. Both dishes were a sizable amount of food that honestly we could have easily split one and been fine. I'm glad we got both since their prices are very reasonable for that amount of food. I absolutely loved our experience here. The food was exactly what I was in the mood for and their service is excellent. Hopefully they open up a location in Durham since I'd love a closer location, but would also make the drive to eat here a again. Highly recommended. read more

Best Mexican in the triangle in my opinion. I've been here numerous times and each time I always leave satisfied. They're always very crowded which is a great sign. They start you off with chips and salsa as a starter for free like many other Mexican restaurants. Their salsa has a good spicy kick to it which is always a plus in my boom. Make sure to get the sopa de tortilla for the side if your entrée comes with a side. That soup is delicious! That and the sopa de elota is fantastic as well. read more
