Es bueno! I am not from West Valley City, nor have I ever lived there. However, I feel like this place is hidden. It seems like a bit of a hidden gem, hole in the wall kind of place. There is not a lot of signage telling you where it is or what it is. It also just doesn't seem to be in an urban area like many restaurants. Most restaurants are located in strip malls or in a centralized location together. Mi Casa Tortilleria is located in the middle of an area with warehouses and I am pretty sure they are in a warehouse themselves. It definitely doesn't look like it is zoned to be a restaurant but they have made it work. When you walk in, there is only a small handful of tables and chairs. They have "grab and go" items in a fridge, they have latino based snacks, and then they have the ordering area. I am going to be honest, when I was looking at the menu, I was not entirely sure what the items were. I used to be pretty good with Spanish but I guess I don't know enough about the cuisines themselves that are usually served here. My friend that went with me (that introduced it to me) got some kind of sandwich item. I had no idea what I wanted, it was only like 9am, and nothing else really appealed to me, so I got a quesadilla. I will say, the quesadilla was actually really good. They put this sauce on it that made it taste really great. I feel like it was a bit pricey for just a quesadilla but everything else seemed to have a better price point. The food did seem to come out pretty fast but when you are catching up with a friend, time passed differently. The staff was nice but it definitely helps if you speak spanish because that's everyone's native language here. I am not sure if I would go again. Not because it isn't a great place but it just isn't really my style and there is not much here for me personally. However, I still appreciate the authenticity of this family restaurant and think it is a great place for people that love the menu items they offer. read more

This place is not pretty, its not fancy or nice but it is authentic, food taste 100% Mexican. I tried almost everything on the menu and was not disappointed, this place makes tortillas and that is their main business but their tacos, menudo were delicious. I decided to try this little hole in the wall in a whim, and I'm glad I did! I got the asada burrito and a couple of asada tacos. The tacos were incredible! They were packed with meat, which may be the most flavorful asada I've had, and the salsas that came with it were spicy and delicious. The burrito came with a side of rice, and was very tasty, but also pretty small. I was expecting something in size comparable to what you see at some of the chain Mexican restaurants like Beto's or Rancheritos. This one was probably a quarter of the size. For the price, I would say it wasn't worth it, so that was disappointing. I will definitely return for the tacos though, and I'm anxious to give the tamales a try too. read more

They catered our school event. We ordered 200 tamales and we drove from Saratoga cause we heard raving reviews. They took care of us and we're even able to get the order done early when I last minute requested it. Definitely loved the tamales the texture and flavor was perfect. The families loved it! not sure about other foods but the menudo had a weird smell to it as if it was old and tasted funny as well as the carme asada. Dealt with a terrible upset stomach and vomiting issues later on. I'm sure they have the potential to be better. read more

Someone recommended us this place for tamales. And the first bite already had me. The tamales smelled amazing and tasted even better. I walked in and saw that they had bags packed of masa for tortillas to make a home. It really is great. I will definitely be back to try the rest of their food.
