Mi Dia is new to the Flower Mound area...a true gem and great addition. The customer service of course is steller...I mean it is Texas! The decor has an elegant class. We started with the table side guacamole, made with fresh ingredients. For my main course I ordered the Duck Carnitas Enchiladas-House made corn tortillas filled with roasted Maple Leaf Farms duck, topped with mole coloradito. Served with guajillo rice, & Oaxacan black beans. The other two dishes ordered were Carnitas De Michoacan-Roasted pork carnitas, onion, micro cilantro, chile arbol salsa on corn tortilla. And last the Relleno Al Carbon-Roasted poblano stuffed with pulled pork, topped with queso asadero & crema, served over New Mexico red & tomatillo sauces, Oaxacan black beans & guajillo rice. And a single cheese enchilada All of the food tasted fresh and simply amazing! This restaurant is definitely a favorite. read more

I've been to the Plano location SEVERAL times and I am always pleased with the food, environment and service. However, I am very disappointed in the Flower Mound location. The food was mediocre, at best. Service was not that great. Not sure, if it's the management at the different locations, or if this location has not been open as long. This location just needs to get it together. read more

Everything is great. The steak nacho app is amazing. Drinks are pricey. Guacamole is made from scratch.

I love this place. But they have a fly problem outside. Please get some fly traps, not great to have a dozen flys attacking us while we eat.

I had an early dinner here with my cousin and we both enjoyed it a lot! This is the first time we've been to this location and we both thought the service and food were great. We got the table side guac with no jalapeños and next time I would get it with less or no bacon. The bacon was very salty but the guac overall was really good. They were able to make a few substitutes and alterations to or order with no problem and overall I thought everything was great. read more

It was busy on Friday night but so worth it! Drinks are fantastic and food....oh man the food is so good. Table Side Guac is so of the best EVER! Service was spot on. Nice surprise y'all. Husband got the ribs and it was a serving for at least 2. I had the street duck taco and YUM! I ate it too fast for a pic. Excited to go back again and again. read more

I am super confused about all the 5 star reviews because this place consistently stinks. I have had better, more consistent Tex mex from Chipotle, which is ridiculous considering the average price of an entree. All fish entrees taste and smell rotten here (their salmon being smothered in spices just barely covering up the fishy taste to where it was edible), and just about the only passable thing I ate today was the flan (which was embarrassingly small). The service wasn't great either, I don't mind being carded, but don't offer me a "virgin" beverage before asking for ID. Never coming back or recommending this place to anyone. read more

So, had a rare date night and took a chance on this place. Not disappointed by any means! Started with some drinks at the bar and was told by the hostess that our patio table would be ready soon. The decor was modern, the staff was super friendly, and we really enjoyed every aspect of the night. The spicy margarita was the best drink we had all night. Hatch infused tequila mixed with some blood orange liqueur and "lemon water" was perfect for the patio. The ceviche I would give 6/10. It lacked flavor and the tostadas seemed to be old. I ordered on the phone at 3:04 to pick up at 4:30. The guy asks if I am sure I ordered from FM. I shared the girl who took my call said FM. Then he comes back and says it will be a 20 minute wait. So not impressed! I am thinking an experienced Manager might want to walk out and apologize for this error, comp my meal or send something extra? They did manage to either find my order, or take someone else's order to get me ours in less then 20 minutes. Food might be good, but service and management needs a refresher course. The food over all was really good. The only thing bad I have to say is, they fried the shrimp (on the Baja tacos) way too hard. Maybe if I get them again, I'll just ask them not to fry them too long. read more

Ehhhhhh. It's okay and the food is edible. Tortillas are good. Our guiso was ground instead of stew meat and so it had a chili vibe instead of guiso vibe. The cilantro lime rice was old, and the enchilada del mar that our waiter recommended was chopped shrimp, salmon, and crab with cheese covered with cream sauce and sesame seeds(what! Sesame seeds???). You could see the grease film... just not a very fresh taste. The cocktails look great and fancy on the menu but the execution table side is totally different and not elevated... like I should have gotten a cilantro ice-ball in mine and there shouldn't have been any simple syrup but got a dried orange rind and simple syrup. Better to muddle some serranos and stir em in a margarita than whatever I got. I won't go back but that's because there are better Tex-New mex places to go to ten minutes from here not because it's bad or anything. Just not great. Edit: day two... food did not sit well. We have visited Mi Dia twice. Both times very enjoyable. First visit we ordered the guacamole---there was so much that I could only order soup for dinner, and really did not want that!!! The special margaritas were great, the next visit we had the house margaritas--no comparison. Have one special rather than 2 house!!! Food is excellent and fresh, service it great. Wow! Best Mexican restaurant around. Sat at the bar while we waited for a table (Saturday night) and had a really great Jalepeno Margarita served by a great funny bartender. Mi Dia has the best Mexican food in town. It is a little more elegant than your average Mexican restaurant, but by no means a formal experience. The ingredients are top quality, the menu selection is extremely varied, the prices are good and their liquor selection is incredible. You may spend a little more than the average Tex Mex spot, but you truly get what you pay for. read more

First and foremost....The environment at Mi Dia is amazing! When you walk in it's very welcoming and the staff is welcoming and the restaurant is buzzing. It's beautiful on the Inside with all the open windows and the lighting is perfect! We sat on the patio and it was way too much fun people watching! This is a great place to go and have drinks... I gave 3 stars though because the food was not as good as I thought it would be. We had the table side guacamole with bacon which I was super excited about but it wasn't as good as I thought it would of been. I kind of felt like the person making it kiiiind of didn't know what he was doing because it was not blended all the way. I mean I never knock a chunky guacamole but this one just wasn't done right. I was pretty basic this go around though and ordered the taco salad which fit my basic needs. Nothing too out of the ordinary, I literally could of just went to taco bueno across the street and got the same thing. I'm definitely going to have to give it another try though bc I have hope in this restaurant! It's way too cool for me not to love the food! What a great lunch experience. We are new to the area and wanted Tex mex for lunch. This restaurant seems pretty new and has a great modern flair. Our experience started with amazing fresh salsa and chips. The salsa is so fresh and crisp- mostly red and a dash of green tomatillo in the same bowl. Truly loved the flavor. I had the steak fajitas which were great. Tender well seasoned with sizzling onions. Plus rice and beans for 15- good deal. Plenty of lunch specials for 10-13. Service was very friendly and on top of everything. I did look at the dinner menu at it's a little pricy for cuisine at 15-25 a plate. However a great find for lunch and worth a stop! read more

My husband and I love this place! It has been a wonderful addition to Flower Mound restaurants. The restraint has a stylish but casual atmosphere, the patio is large and very nice, and our service has always been outstanding. I've tried several different dishes, and I've loved all of them. My husband always orders the same thing: the New Mexico Tampiquena. You'd never know the steak is skirt steak. It's so flavorful and tender! I especially love the chipotle bacon chimichanga. Get it with steak . This is a wonderful restaurant for a casual lunch with friends or a romantic dinner with your spouse! read more

For entrees, get the traditional Steak, the Duck Taco is unique and extraordinary, as are the stacked blue corn enchiladas. This is our favorite date-night spot! We were so happy when the flower mound location opened up! It's more expensive than your average Mexican place, but SOOOO worth it! Amazing cocktails which we managed to suck down before I had a chance to take any photos of them. Mine was a "When Hell Freezes Over" which always garners an "Awe" from the group, a supposedly spicy margarita but it was all watered down, and a sweet Mexican Candy which is a Rum drink. Apps included beef fajita nachos which were so filling and tasted delicious. Table side guacamole was prepared to be like a show and we enjoyed it. The ceviche was refreshing and served on top of a leaf. Queso was disappointing because it was so small in size. Entrees were Cochinita Pibil which really needed the dots of sauce to kick up the flavor, however not enough sauce. Two orders of N.M. Tampiquena which is grilled skirt steak but there was a blue tortilla hidden by mole sauce covering the top of each steak. If you're not a fan of dark chocolate (definitely not sweet), then this mole is not for you. You can lift the tortilla off the steak and use the salsa to cover the steak instead. You can ask for the green salsa which is much spicier when you get the nachos. I didn't realize I wasn't a mole fan until I ordered mine so guess what I did. Smart person ordered Baja shrimp and got huge shrimp which was so refreshing. Overall a very good place for a lot of money but fun seems expensive nowadays when family comes to gather! read more

I have been driving by this place for awhile now on my way to work so when my husband and I had a child-free date afternoon I told him to take me here. This place is trendy, and cute. We sat out on the patio since it was a relatively nice day out. Our waitress was nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. We tried their table side guacamole which was okay. Food was mediocre at best. Lot better options in the area. First time at location and don't have any plans of returning. One thing that I disliked the most about restaurant is when you order a soda it is in a bottle. Therefore no refills. If you can drink as much pop as I do this is a terrible thing. The Flower Mound location disappointed me a bit. Interiors are same as Grapevine, the staff is friendly & the server was great. What was disappointing - cocktails were not upto mark, too sweet or maybe the server wasn't able to describe the cocktails & what to expect. - food, zero customizations. Can't sub steak for chicken or vice-Versa. - sub veggies for rice had an upcharge & our server forgot to order the veggies. Didn't expect this from a restaurant that claims to be an upscale one. On the positive note (why 3 stars) - the ribs were very tender, probably the best I had in a while. read more

I am a fan of Mi Dia for several reasons. First, it is the nicest atmosphere of any restaurant in the area. Next, it has an incredible patio. I like their selection of margaritas and find that I don't need to order an upscale version because their house tastes great. Finally, I love that it is not limited to just Tex-Mex fare.....their new mexico dishes are delicious and provide something different for dinner. The parking is easy, but there is usually wait during peak hours. It can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, so no issue here. You would be hard-pressed to find a place nicer or more original in their selection in the area. read more
