We hadn't been here in a long time. Food we had was really good. However under new ownership and they charge for chips and salsa after one tiny bowl of chips and tiny tiny bowl of salsa. We asked why and were told they cant afford to keep giving chips and salsa for free! They nickel and dime customers. Unbelievable for a Mexican restaurant. Made us feel like we were under pressure to not eat to much salsa on our food. We did order a extra tiny bowl of salsa. Service was ok but not like the old owners. We wish them luck. We came with a group of 5 of us on a Sunday night and the place was dead. They serve margaritas in 3 different glass sizes. Our server was very nice and took our orders quickly. I forget the name of what I got - but it was a chicken breast covered in cheese, chilies and onions. It was pretty good, but certainly not the best Mexican I have ever had. We ended up in Catalina to go to Sammy's but they were on vacation. We noticed Mi Tierra had a completely empty parking lot around noon on a Saturday... maybe we will go there?? We hadn't tried Mi Tierra so I headed inside to see if they were finally mask free, read a menu & get a feel for the ambiance. A couple of customers were headed in at the same time so I asked if they had been there before. They ended up being neighbors from our neck of the woods & said they loved the place. I took a glance inside & knew I would be good. The decor is gorgeous. My better half said "Need to see you happy bounce, I take you to a well decorated Mexican restaurant with great food"......is ........true. Our server was Amber, she was right on top of everything..quick with waters, chips, salsa.. we loved the food..but I'll start with why only 4 stars & not 5. Prices are high! I mean.. high for any place like this we have tried before.. They do have lunch specials & they're worth it, but it was the smallest fajita platter we had ever experienced.. for the normal price of around $18, $11 on special, we expected far more.. especially after experiencing the size of the nachos which were delivered way ahead of the fajitas. The salsa, white person bland. I say that to make fun of the better half who isn't a heat guy.. I'm the firey one. We needed to add salt & pepper to the salsa.. if you like things spicy, ask for the habenero salsa & mix it in with the regular.. it's awesome with the chips that way. Our super nachos were served first. We thought there would be meat, but no. Nice to see real cheese, loaded with jalapeño slices, olives, green chilis, Mexican sour cream & gaucemole. We will order it again. We pulled off the jalapeño...the green chilis were enough. The steak fajitas were delicious, meat was very tender.. The beans & rice were well seasoned...just overall small on the portion side. Other than that, adorable, friendly, delicious food, large place for parties or a date experience. After playing pickleball, our group of 16 headed over to Mi Tierra for dinner. Carolina was our server - she was efficient, friendly - overall an awesome server. Our dinners were delicious and the sopapillas were excellent! Carolina was very attentive to our needs - we were a fairly loud, disorganized group, but Carolina was very kind and patient with us. It is not easy to find a good restaurant that will accommodate a large group - we were all pleased with the food, drinks, and service. We will definitely go back! read more

The one chili rellano was good, the plate was full of salad, rice, and refried beans. My husband and I chose Mi Tierra for dinner on a whim. The place was pretty much empty (I'm not sure why). The service was good and our server was friendly. My husband had the sea bass and it was delicious. I had the fish tacos, which were just OK. The fish was great, but too much pico and no sauce to speak of.
