Went today for lunch was so overpriced for the amount of food I got. 2 items on a combination plate were $18.95. Ridiculous!! A huge plate with hardly any food. The rice was so plain. No flavor at all. Same for the beans. The taco I got with shredded beef was so salty I couldn't eat it. The chicken enchilada was just ok. I asked for mole. I think I've been to about a dozen restaurants now searching for my "perfect" fish taco. IMHO, the Mi Tierra fish taco comes *really* close. Soft, fresh corn tortillas, a gently cooked (sautéed?) fish filet, chunky, brightly flavored pico de gallo and shredded lettuce. Mouth-watering, soul-satisfying deliciousness in every bite. Happy birthday to me. I picked up a carnitas dinner for the SO and he liked the delicate spiciness of the meat and thought it was well balanced by the accompanying rice, beans, pico de gallo and tortillas. On the down side, the tortilla chips were stale. However, reasonably priced, friendly staff, clean and nicely decorated, great assortment of salsas and a parking lot (!), this is an excellent choice for a north Santa Rosa Mexican restaurant. read more

Loved it. Good talking with the new owners as well Updating my previous review, second time coming here and this time I was disappointed. I don't want to be a troll, but I think Mexican food in the area as a whole has taken a tank. I'm from San Diego where they actually put meat in the burritos. That being said, I had the pastor California burrito. Wrong meat inside, and I would say that there may have been two ounces of meat. The rest was rice beans and other BS. $9.99 for a burrito that cost $1.5 to make is a little ridiculous. In San Diego you get a solid California burrito with mean, guac, cheese and fries for $7.00. Not sure I'll return, but options in the area are limited. read more

Honestly very disappointed. Let me start by saying I usually don't leave reviews, especially negative ones. However this was not a good experience at all. We choose this place because of the reviews, however I'm not sure why people raved about this place. We wanted to dine in, so we walk in and they look at us like we were stupid... I say, "two of us for here please." Still nothing. Then I say, "do we sit wherever?". Finally a response, a very short one but that said "yes". I ordered a mango margarita and my girlfriend a michelada. The margarita tasted horrible like it was just mango juice. My girlfriends michelada was good. We ordered our food which is very simple. I got a bean cheese and rice burrito and added guacamole, my girl got the same thing but added sour cream and avocado. Immediately heard them talking shit about us when the server walked away. None the less was it obvious by the order lady staring at us and laughing. Our food came out and was cold, like everything came out of the fridge cold. We asked if they could re make them because they were cold... what did they do.. they microwaved it to the point where it was scorching hot now, mind you with the guacamole and sour cream and avocado inside. Gross who wants hot guacamole or sour cream or avocado. The food would of been delicious if done properly. The extensive menu and amazing reviews got us really excited only to be extremely dissatisfied and uncomfortable by the way they were talking and had even the whole kitchen staff looking and talking about us. In addition we never once were asked how everything was or if there was anything they could get us. We also watched the lady throw a fit when a table walked in 40 minutes from closing and was it obvious she hated her job. Definitely will not be coming back to this place. Consistently good, never disappointed, we always get burritos. The salsa bar is great even though it's not open right now!

I don't really leave reviews but this place really made me go out of my way to write one . This is probably the worst burrito I've had by far. I had to go in not once but twice in because they got my order wrong. First I had called to place an order I was greeted by a rude lady on the phone that wanted to take my order super fast she kept on cutting me off horrible customer service to say the least. I get to the place to pick up my order and I made sure that I let her know I had asked for no beans. Mind you when I had called I made sure I told her no beans ( she was in such a rush she probably forgot) Once I was there she said "oh I didn't know" so she had it remade. I took my order and once I started eating I noticed almost half way my burrito that there was no sour cream or guac. Mind you I paid almost $17 for a super burrito. I called and let her know there was nothing in the burrito but rice and meat. I told her I could bring it in and have it checked by them. So I did and she had the cook inspect it and there was sour cream all the way in the bottom (out of no where ) mind you before taking it I had made sure that I stuck a fork all the way down to make sure there was nothing I was missing. She threw it on the counter and said "make sure you check next time", and advised me to take it so I can see for my self and told me to take the other one she had remade. I have attached a picture on how she gave me back the burrito. This experience at this place was horrible please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!!!! read more

Mi Tierra is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. They really make you feel like you are part of the family. Doesn't hurt they have the best carne asada around, you can tell they use high quality meat. And they have mole! Everything on the menu is good and the service is awesome. I recently went in and the owner said "oh I have a surprise for you!" He held up my check from last time and said "last time you overpaid by $9.45!" That kind of honesty has made me a huge fan. Love this place. They also have a really good happy hour(m-th 4-6). $1 tacos and cheap beer read more

I happened to be in the area looking for breakfast. I didn't want to go to Piner Cafe. The food is bland & the service is terrible, but it's always packed because there aren't a lot of options in the area. I happened to notice the sign on the front of Mi Tierra that said "breakfast." The restaurant was empty, but I figured I'd give it a whirl. I was not disappointed! I had the breakfast burrito with chorizo & it was large & delicious! The service is also very pleasant. I had my 2 year old boy with me & the waiter was very friendly. My only complaint is that coffee was weak & not very tasty. But seriously people! Stop going to Piner, drive around the corner & get your breakfast at Mi Tierra. You won't regret it. read more

I went on the recommendation of yelp's "hot and new." I read a few reviews and the huevos rancheros caught my eye. The service was good and the food arrived nicely plated and hot. The salsa/sauce on top of the eggs was not a usual ranchero sauce. It was greenish and had a tang to it. It tasted very good. The rice, beans, and salad were very good also. read more

Great food! The service is really good, yummy salsa bar & a very diverse menu. The appetizers are really good, we started with queso con carne this time, great melty cheese with chorizo & fresh jalapeños sprinkled on top...amazing. I ordered a Sopes with steak and it was really good. Husband had a chicken enchilada & taco combo which was great, his gauge on Mexican Food is always enchilada sauce and this place really scores high. Dad had a fish dish that he loved and it was in a great, hot, homemade sauce. Can't wait to go back again and try new menu items. read more

It'll be a tough choice between Brinquito and this place, being that they're so close, and Brinquito is the best in town and Mi Tierra is the new comah! But bravo, they delivered. I've been there twice and the first time I ordered a grilled chicken super burrito which was bomb BUT it came wet, covered in sauce, and I didn't ask for that nor did they ask me if I wanted it; it just comes like that. It was delicious, but next time I will ask them to hold the wet. The second time I ordered chicken enchiladas trio plate and it was good again. This is the real deal, folks...the food is fresh, hot and not served in styrofoam. Service is quick and friendly. The menu is extensive and imaginative--not limited to "burrito/taco/enchilada." My last time there I had "El Tapatio"--large, crispy fish fillet on a bed of sauteed mushrooms, onions and shrimp in a spicy Tapatio-based sauce. Fluffy rice. Creamy-fresh refried beans. If half-stars were a thing, I would have rated Mi Tierra a 3 1/2 out of five. I ordered a carne asada super burrito to go and waited in the restaurant while it was made. The menu is robust, and easy to follow. The burrito had a very generous amount of meat and rice, but very little else - which made it pretty dry. I order super burritos specifically because I like sour creme and guacamole. I thought perhaps these two items were left out of my burrito in error, but then there was like one drop of each at the end of the burrito. I am not exaggerating. I have several other favorite taquerias that do not charge as much for a super burrito and that are far more generous with the "super" extras. The woman at the register was not very friendly either - again in stark contrast with my my favorites. I won't be returning. read more
