The are the best known retailer for a dress designer I purchased my wedding dress from (Rene Altier) and I was exhausting attempts to hear back about my dress. She explained to me the designer was making a transformation to not sell directly to consumers any longer and go in touch with the production manager. She tracked down my dress and gave me an update, and is making sure it gets shipped to me. This is my dream dress, and I was getting frantic. I should have read the dozens of 1-star reviews before ordering a dress. I ordered a dress 6 weeks ago and still haven't received it. I understand that they are waiting for a shipment to come through, but the most frustrating part is their CUSTOMER SUPPORT is literally terrible. I had a great experience at Mia Bella today. I walked in without an appointment and was still assisted and treated kindly by both women that were working at 11 am this morning. Haley was especially helpful with selecting dresses that fit the look I was going for. I had my eyes on a specific dress that I found online and they had it in store (just not my size). Although I tried on 6 different dresses, I chose the dress I had been admiring. The only issue I have, and currently face, is ordering the dress in my size. It has caused quite a bit of confusion. It's available online but the women that work at the store in Del Mar told me that they could only get the next size up because the designer stopped making smaller sizes. If the designer isn't making it, then why can I still purchase it online? I ordered the dress before hearing of the possibility that the designer ceased producing my size. Nonetheless, this is a great shop and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a stunning dress. I had a great experience here, I went in person to the shop and two great girls helped me try on and pick out dresses for a wedding I'm attending in Italy. They were so friendly and helpful. I ended up showing them a dress online that they didn't have in store but they said they could get it ordered and rushed for me. I ordered it on Wednesday afternoon and by Friday at 2pm I was picking it up from the store. It was also a great price for the quality of gown. If only I could give this zero stars.... We ordered a wedding dress 03 Apr 2021. When paying we agreed that the dress would be altered and ready for pick up on the first week of June because we were flying out on June 17th for our wedding. The first week of June rolls in and we call the store to ensure the dress was ready for pick up. The manager told us they have been busy with prom so they haven't got to our dress yet even though we paid in full two months ago and the agreement was the first week of June. They told us we would be able to pick it up on the 10th. Next we call on the 10th to confirm pick up and the store told us they were a tad bit behind but we would be able to pick the dress up on 14th. Yes, 3 days before we fly out for the wedding. After going back and fourth with them about how close they were cutting it we had faith that they'd stick to their word. Now it's June 14th and we call the store 20+ times and no one answers the phone. June 15th we call the store a total of 8 time but this time we leave messages and guess what.... No one gives us a call back. So on the 16th, yes one day before the wedding we drive up to get the dress. In route while stuck in traffic they finally answer the phone. They tell us they haven't received the dress yet. But they'll make sure the seamstress delivers it in the next hour for us. Pissed I hang up in their face. 10 mins later we call back and they say "oh we have the dress, it's been here the hole time". Twenty minutes later we get to the store to try on the dress. Guess what..... The dress hasn't even been altered. We purchased the dress back April 3rd and the dress hasn't been looked at yet. Time roles by and I curse the assholes out. The come up with a quick solution. They suggest we Drive to National City to their seamstress and have her do the alterations on the spot. So instead of packing for my wedding and honeymoon we are in a run down neighborhood at a woman's house who barely speaks English getting the dress altered at 7pm , 12 hours before our flight. Thank you Mia Bella for making our experience everything we ever wished for. Thanks for the constant stress. Thanks for sticking to your word. Thanks for answer your phone. The worst! Last year my daughter and purchased a dress for her pageant at Mia Bella Couture. We met the owners there. Customer service was great! Had a great experience! Mia Bella moved across the street to a new store. My daughter, her friends and I went to the store to purchase a dress for their prom. The store was messy and the worst customer service. So, my mother in law finally connected with someone about the dress arriving in the wrong color. She let them know that, given the disaster everything leading up to her dress arriving in a completely different color than she selected and paid for, she wanted a 50% discount. The refused because it would not be "profitable" for them, despite these dresses being cheaply made in India and China and then marked up exponentially. So instead, my mother in law left with no dress at all and Mia Bella will have no profit whatsoever rather than rectifying the situation and getting half price when that's honestly the least they can do for all of this false advertising, dishonesty, evasiveness and laziness. The dresses are all stunning and priced perfectly, they also had many color options (up to 70 depending on the dress) which was so helpful when placing my order for the dress I picked. Can't get the store to respond to emails or answer the phone about a formal dress order. Love the fact that they excuse their poor customer service with "low staffed and overwhelmed ". It's 6 days away from the event and I have not received the dress yet and no clue if I will. There isn't even a tracing on the dress delivery. She found a dress, we asked the sales lady if we could order it. She told us to do it online so that is processed faster. I had the sales rep make sure online the dress was available. She assured me it was all going to be fine. She gave me the dress name, she watched me pull it up online on my phone. I felt very brushed off but regardless my daughter was able to try on and find a dress in her XS size. We ordered the dress and the sales lady assured us we would get the dress in time for the event. I was super nervous about that fact but the sales lady was confident I would be fine. I even paid extra to have the dress shipped in 3 days instead of the free shipping. She was very well aware I needed the dress in 3 weeks so we could alter the length. I bought 2 dresses 1 month before Senior prom. Mia Bella Couture's website said "3-5 business days" for shipping. Right away, I got a shipping notification which said "label created." HOWEVER, 2 weeks before my event, 1 of my dresses were randomly cancelled and I was refunded. I did not get any explanation as to why it was cancelled. This made me frantically email Mia because my 2nd dress still has not shipped as shipping still said "label created." Mia has TERRIBLE customer service as I wrote around 5 emails before I recieved a 1 sentence reply, saying how "they were unaware of the situation." Moreover, when I tried calling, their voiceboxes were always full (almost like it was on purpose). Keep in mind that at this point, my event was a couple days away and I did NOT have a backup dress because I was reassured by the Mia team that my dress was on overnight shipping and that it would reach me in time. HOWEVER, the dress ended up not even being shipped and once again I reached out by email and NO ONE responded. I have sent over 14 emails and I am being ghosted by Mia. I asked for a refund and it took 4 days for their team to respond to me. Please do not order online from Mia. This company gave me so much unnecessary stress, anxiety, and frustration, and I literally felt so hopeless because no one responded to me and I had no where else to turn to. And over the phone I told her what I was looking for and specifically asked for a certain dress to try on. There was a lot of senseless talking and she again asked me what I was looking for (after I told her over the phone, and I just didn't want to waste my energy trying to explain AGAIN what I wanted, which I'm used to already having the dresses pulled out when I get to a store that I have to make an appointment for!) and claimed that they customize A LOT of dresses, and basically told me to imagine what I want with one of their dresses that they had in store that was NO WHERE NEAR WHAT I WANTED TO TRY ON...wth....then she tried to get me to try on a size 2 or 4 dress and I'm bigger than that!!! No common sense, and flat out STUPID. And the main dress I wanted to try on they didn't have it in ivory, but another color, which I had no issue with because I could still see how it looks on me. Come to find out the owner took the dress with him to another location as well as the majority of the A-line dresses (so the sales associate claims)! I kept it real cool in the store, but I was LIVID! A lot of red flags with talking about making custom dresses and blaming her boss, but this could've all been avoided by getting up to see if the dress was in the store or what I asked for (classic/modern dress) and giving me a call that you don't have the dress....again, common sense. Another major red flag, she stated that a custom dress or any dress I order will be in 8-10weeks or 3-4months...8 weeks is 2months...already a LIE BEING TOLD. She also took my measurements and she didn't know what the heck she was doing! The measuring tape was slanted and loose...NEVER AGAIN! She is Unknowledgeable about fashion (didn't know what classic/modern wedding dress is) and I asked do they have any dresses with a bustle and she said that all wedding dresses have them...THAT IS FALSE! MOST do not HAVE THEM when you first buy a bridal gown, that is done in alterations! Again, I didn't want to waste my energy explaining how wrong she was. BIG THING, if you see a dress online, the likelihood of them having it in this store is LOW...it might be in one of their other locations and they only have ONE SAMPLE. PLEASE! Take this review as a learning lesson and if you are coming here from ig please AVOID THIS PLACE. The sales associate I dealt with was Grace, she didn't take any accountability on her part, kept saying sorry, but didn't mean it, the lack of empathy was mind blowing. Really ruined my dress shopping experience here on out. And remember, when you're in customer service, the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT! I went to Mia Bella for the first time in 2019 for a pageant dress & came back for my bridal gown because I had such an AMAZING experience. Every time I've been to the store, everyone was so nice and Derek is awesome! He even remembered me from when I bought my pageant dress-the color, the pageant I entered in all the way down to the alterations that had to be done. I really appreciated it! Mia Bella is the only place I wanted to shop at for my bridal gown & I knew I would find it! I was able to schedule a bridal appointment within a week and I loved how they already had some notes on what styles I'm interested in when I came to my appointment. I had a wonderful experience because Derek gave his full attention and really listened to what I liked in a gown. I could tell that he's best at what he does because his first pick ended up being THE dress. I said yes to a René dress! I apologize if I spell her name incorrectly, but Ellerie, one of the consultants helped me get in & out of dresses and she was so sweet! I could write pages on the details of what happened, but like many others that have written reviews, I was promised the sun, moon, and stars in terms of a custom wedding dress. Placed the order in January, was told it would be ready in March, I made THREE appointments to see the dress in March and all three were cancelled THE MORNING OF. The dress never arrived. Every week I was told the dress would be in next week (whenever I could actually get someone on the phone) and each week I was told lies. Owner constantly made excuses as to why he couldn't call me back and why the dress wasn't in the store. Now, so close to my wedding I was left scrambling to find another dress. The dresses on the website ARE NOT THE DRESSES THEY SELL. They use PICTURES of the designers original dresses, like pictures straight from the designer's website, and sell dresses that they make on their own (from their own manufacturer as I was advised) . The dresses will be loosely similar BUT NOTHING like the dresses you believe you bought. I'm not clear how this isn't fraud or an issue of Copyright infringement considering the clear bait and switch. Perhaps a legal loop hole given that the website says nothing about being "designer inspired dress" AND the prices aren't knock-off prices. The dresses on this site, even on sale, are designer prices Also, I contacted customer service, sent them photos of the dress that was clearly a knock off and after we spoke, they never took any action to resolve the issue. I was told that they "would get back to me", but they/customer service/ anyone obviously never did. I would not recommend this site. Also note, the dress quality I did receive, given the price of the dress was poor. If you find yourself in this situation I recommend you ship the dress back and dispute the charge with your bank. I was out of over $100 to ship the dress back and they didn't return the full purchase price. As a whole, this was very disappointing because I was preparing for a big event. read more

We had a hard time finding our daughter a prom dress this year, because of COVID...but we were thrilled to happen upon Mia Bella Couture in Scottsdale. It's a family owned & runned business (even their dog and baby were in store) and they have an incredible assortment of dresses in styles & sizes. The dresses fit my daughter like a glove and my daughter even made friends with the girl in the fitting room next door...I would highly recommend you check out their San Diego or Scottsdale locations if you're in need of a special occasion dress.
