The two women in the store pulled a bunch of dresses that met all my requirements, helped me try everything on, and were super helpful and patient with me while also being very efficient. I would NOT recommend this place at all. (DALLAS LOCATION) PISS POOR customer service, inconsiderate, unprofessional just a horrible experience. Derrick the owner is not very kind or compassionate to be running a business. Customer satisfaction is not a priority for them. 6 of my bridesmaids ordered custom dresses from them june 17th (wedding 10/6) with a 6-8 week estimate for arrival. Aug 9 we called because we had not received dresses or any update. They told us Sept 14th would be arrival with claims of "covid delays in china" LOL. Fast forward to the week before my wedding and still NO DRESSES. NO UPDATES from the shop unless myself or bridesmaids reached out. everyday there was a different excuse & the date of arrival kept getting pushed back. when i asked for the remaining balance of dresses to be covered for compensation/accommodation they stated all they could do was cover the "rush fee" for the tailor if the girls decided to use theirs. a joke. dresses where received 9/28 (way longer than 6-8 weeks from june 17) & were TOO BIG, LONG & did meet not the expectations we had for a "custom dress" half of the dress had to be cut off to fit properly.Their communication SUCKS. Well, where do I start. I have so many great things to say about this gem of a business. I called up for a bridal appointment asking if they could accommodate me for my wedding, which was in less than 6 weeks time. They got me in immediately and had an abundant of STUNNING gowns fit for every bride's taste & preference. They assured me that alterations would be done in house speedily and to a great standard - they did not disappoint! I'm British & due to the COVID pandemic, my mother could obviously not fly in for my appointment or wedding. They were so accommodating and allowed me to FaceTime the whole experience. They followed me around showing her the gowns on my tripod & made her feel so apart of the experience. Something I will always be eternally grateful for. They made it so special. Ahh finally, my month saga with Mia Bella Couture ends. And it only cost me about $40. The whole experience I would say was neither terribly good nor terribly bad. Hence the 3 stars. About 2 months ago, I like many others had been eyeing an Andrea and Leo dress. Called in and they didn't have it so ordered it from their website. Expected 5-7 days per their website. The dress arrived 17 days later. I wasn't surprised based on the reviews here, but I did have to call in to ask about it before they sent it out. Upon arrival, the dress was too large. FYI Andrea and Leo dresses commonly had a large bust and small waist and mid-size hips. A lot of people will probably need alterations. The dress also definitely looked more expensive online. Oof. Had to make an appointment to return the dress, which happened within a week. Called about where the refund was a week later. And received it about 4 days afterward (they said they "expedited" this for my case). If you're like me and thinking... how could this gorgeous dress be anything but perfect! Whatever you do, try it on in store to avoid the 10% return policy (where the $40 was spent). Though service is pretty slow, I thought everyone who helped me, from emails to phone calls to in store, were really really nice. Especially when it's about an important event, if we're not satisfied we shouldn't be forced to take store credit instead of a refund to my original form of payment. That's so stupid! One of the ladies called me and told me my dress was out of stock in the color I wanted.. ok thinking I was like okay I'll try a different color, maybe I can get a refund if I don't like it. NOPE. My daughter and her friends decided to try to get their prom dresses from Mia Bella in Del Mar. We originally tried to get in on Sunday with no luck, and again the next day, also with no luck. They are super busy. 3rd time's a charm... Tuesday. From the moment we walked through their doors the staff there was unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Yvon (hope that was her name. Tall, thin, dark straight hair) was an absolute sweetheart and so very helpful. She was wonderful! At one point she even said "I love working here" and it really shows. They all went above and beyond to accommodate us and we were very appreciative. Now let me tell you about Derrick, the owner. I Absolutely loved his kindness, patience, and help and advice every step of the way. Every time my daughter said "I wish it had this... or that" he would confidently say "we could do that". Best customer service ever! In the end one of the three girls walked out with a dress in hand, my daughter purchased a dress in her size and will be available for pickup in May or sooner, and the third young lady went home a bit sad, but will be returning for another round. While some people may have had good experiences, I can only speak for myself, and mine was not great. I went to Mia Bella Couture in late 2017 looking for a wedding dress. The appointment went well and I found a dress style I liked. I asked for a train similar to one on a different dress, and I trusted the stylists to lead me in the right direction with an appropriate length for the train based on the dress I chose. Everything was ordered and I was told my dress would be here by January 2018 for my May 2018 wedding. Come January, nothing. February, nothing. In March, my custom dress arrived and I went to try it on. The dress was difficult to zip up and I couldn't walk or sit. I was confused why the measurements were so off, but I was reassured that it's a simple fix by a seamstress - "she can let the seams out." Okay. Next up, I wanted to see the train. It was ridiculously long. I wasn't even sure how I was going to function in the dress. The stylist showed me how it could be put up in a bustle which was pretty bulky, and she also mentioned that the seamstress could cut some off. I paid extra for a train just to cut it off? I don't understand. Nevertheless, I trusted them and paid for the dress. I picked it up in the beginning of May bc I had to wait for a veil to arrive. Beginning of May, I made an appointment with a seamstress closer to me and I learned the surprising reality that there was no give in the hem. The hem was cut exact and the train was nothing like she had ever seen before in her years of service as a seamstress. She sat me down and gently told me that the dress was going to be impossible to fix before my big day, and I should go back to Mia Bella and demand an explanation. The one option she recommended was to take the whole dress apart and add another panel of fabric. In her professional opinion, this solution isn't fair for what I paid and the dress was manufactured poorly from the beginning. When I called Mia Bella, I was told that there are no refunds and all sales are final. I was also told that "their seamstress" could fix it, and to be frank, I didn't have the time to go down there just to hear the same thing - there is no seam allowance. Long story short, I had to get a new dress the week before my wedding and if I could go back in time, I wouldn't work with Mia Bella Couture. Whether this was intentional or not, they ordered me a dress that did not match my measurements, the dress came in two months late, they charged me for a custom train that isn't reasonable, and all the while, they assured me everything would be okay. Don't go there. Go to BHLDN. They're much more considerate and their dresses, in my opinion, are way better than boutique shops like Mia Bella. read more

I love this shop! The whole staff was friendly and inviting, and gave amazing recommendations for my dream dress. I live in AZ and drove all the way to California because I've heard such awesome things about Derek and Daryl. My visit didn't disappoint. When my dress came in and needed alterations, the seamstress in AZ tried to catastrophically over charge for what needed to be done. I had such a great first experience that I went all the way back to have the alterations done in house. Derek is a couture genius. He made some amazing assumptions and my alterations were done in house with time to spare. So thankful to have gotten my dress from Mia Bella! read more

This is my first and last experience with them! I tried ordering from them online as I needed a dress by a certain date. I was told by Derek that they had a certain Abyss by Abby dress in stock in navy BEFORE I ordered. I placed the order on Thursday. Come next Friday, the order hasn't shipped. I contacted them and I was told by a different rep that they are waiting for the dress shipments to arrive and it should be here by Monday. First red flag because I was told it was ALREADY in stock so it should have shipped. But okay, fine. Come Monday, I contact them again and they said the dress shipment STILL hadn't arrived so they asked if I wanted a refund. I of course accepted as it was clear my dress would not be arriving on time. I don't know what type of shady business model they got going on here, but it seems like they're willing to tell a lie to make a sale. Was originally contacted quickly via text, phone and email checking on my event date and stating that delivery was now expected at the end of February. Began trying to contact them at the beginning of March via email asking for updates with no response. Have emailed and left VM asking to cancel/refund and have not received a response. Tried to contact countless times on chat, sometimes getting a response that they can't refund me but will check on my order, but most often having the chat time out. Still no response. Extremely apathetic that they did not care that they missed the date by over 20 days when they said it was a 4 to 7 day delivery. They didn't even on the product they are just drop shipping the product likely probably from China and very cheap. When I talked to them they did have no problem refunding the money but they were clearly blaming me for not contacting him soon enough when I did send them emails almost a week ago that they didn't get to and then cried about not having enough employees to answer their emails. I would like to give a shout out to Mia Bella Couture. It's not often we get a chance to brag about exceptional customer service, however, @miabellacourture proved excellence in delivering my mother-of-the-bride dress. I went to the shop in Plano, and I tried on many dresses. The owner Derek took note as I was trying on and brought an absolutely gorgeous dress for me to try on. That was it! The dress! He orders these dresses from India that have exquisite beading and just gorgeous. When shipping over the holidays, the dress was lost by DHL in Germany. He called me himself, explained the issue and promised to order a new dress and have it delivered before the wedding. The dress arrived late Thursday night before the wedding. He brought the dress to the hotel on Friday to measure for alterations himself. I asked for a few extra add ons on the back and front, he delivered the dress on Saturday morning with a perfect fit. Horrible customer service. My daughter picked this store to go Prom dress shopping. We checked online and my daughter called just to make sure we did not need an appointment. She was told no. We walk in shortly after opening and are rudely greeted, by Jane, who doesn't seem to enjoy working in customer service. She explains there is a wait list and if we wanted to try on right away we should've arrived prior to them opening to get in line. This was the only time we had to shop so we put our name down. During the course of our waiting we heard them tell multiple people coming in the same line and, like us, we're not too thrilled to find that out upon arriving. If they don't want to have to explain that every time a customer comes in and don't want to deal with the unhappy response back they should put that online and tell them when they call asking about appointments. She then explains that we can go and look through the dresses to start getting an idea of which ones we'd like to try on. We sit and ask will we be called when it's our turn and are told yes, 5 min before they will get the list of the dresses we picked so they can pull them and be ready to go when it's our designated time. We sit and watch the other associates happily going and picking the dresses for their customers and even hanging them up and putting a cute chalkboard sign in front of them with the customers name on it. Jane approaches us and tells my daughter to show her the dresses she picked. Once we finally get the dresses she hangs them in the room and walks away. Normally I wouldn't care much for the small details but being as we were prom shopping and this is a one time experience I was pretty disappointed she didn't make the effort to add the sign with my daughters name. Everyone else seemed to be having a better experience than we were. So we start trying on dresses. Being as these are formal, they take some finesse and caution getting in/out of unless you want to destroy it for the next person. Especially the delicate ones. Which by the way a lot of them are. The seams are coming out everywhere and the bottoms are disgusting from being dragged all over the floor. Thinking we had 30 min we carefully started trying them on. Apparently not. They started our time when my daughter had to go and show her which dresses she wanted, which took about 10 min, and they didn't even bother to tell us that. Another associate comes up to let us know we need to finish up because our 30 min is ending even though we only got about 15-20 in the actual room. At this point I'm done with this place and Jane. If you want to enjoy your shopping experience go elsewhere. Or at least don't work with Jane. Also, if you've taken the time to read the reviews you'll notice the owner not ONCE even bothers to respond to anyone's review, both positive or negative. At first we were really impressed. We found a nice dress, and the lady named Daryl assured us that it could be altered to fit perfectly & then mailed to us since we came all the way from Hawai'i. When we received it in the mail, the alterations were HORRIFIC & INCOMPLETE! We were in total shock and my daughter was in tears. After leaving unanswered messages & emails, i finally got a hold of Derek (the owner) who made excuses that I must have come at a busy time & said he would refund me for the alterations only. That did not help me at all since I was still stuck with a dress that my daughter could not wear & that I still paid full price for. I had to buy a dress for an awards show and I needed one fast. Since I am new to San Diego, I took to the internet where I found Mia Bella. Let me start with I am a bit of a service snob. I expect excellent service when I am spending my money. Since I am rather attached to my money I'm selective who I give it to. I have to be honest when I say I thought I might not get good service because San Diego has a track record lol. The dresses were BEAUTIFUL. They even have sale prices. The 1st day the girls were BEYOND helpful. I asked them to hold my dress until the next day when I came back and actually met the owner. (Derek I believe) He was super helpful and the staff was just as helpful and kind. I unfortunately needed a ready to wear dress but fortunately, they totally delivered. You can custom design dresses If I didn't find my dress, I would of used their services to custom design a wedding dress. Most bridal stores have "assistants" that sell, but this place has women who have fashion design expertise and degrees! They're professionally experienced! 4. Bridal Suite It's perfect. It's private. It's couture. You can invite your close fiends (2 is enough) and you're not sharing the mirrors and having random guests stare at you. You want this moment (trust me, I didn't think I "needed" that attention and privacy, but you will remember this day that you found your dress). CONS: 1. Don't purchase online!!!! Should've read all the terrible reviews before purchasing. I ordered a dress for my birthday this month back in November. Was told my dress should arrive end of December beginning of January due to designer manufacturing. Ok no problem I need the dress closer to end of January. Wrong!! The amount of stress and anxiety this place has caused me by not returning my calls or answering me. Takes forever to get ahold of anyone and when you do, you're told "the shipping label should be sent out soon" and we're not worried your dress will get there on time. Well I finally received my dress January 16 after being told they would over night it on the 11th which was obviously a lie, and I'm pretty sure they didn't send the correct size and probably just stuck a size 2 tag on a size 4 and sent it to me. Not only is it way too big but there was no designer tags attached to my dress and the beading is falling off or hanging by a thread, tiny holes in the mesh part in the dress, wouldn't be surprised if the dress they sent me was used or at the store for people to try on. The dress already cost me 1,200 and now I have to pay a ridiculous amount in alterations because I don't have time to find anything else or to have them ship me a different dress before my event. The dress shed everywhere, when I requested a refund it was denied. I can't remember the last time I had a genuinely pleasant experience in a pageant/prom gown shop. Between the jacked up prices, gowns from 10 seasons ago still on the rack, the constant and unnecessary pressure to leave with a gown in my hands, and overall poor treatment from associates/owners, I've almost given up on gown shopping in store all together. Today was so refreshing and eye opening to me. I just left my appointment at Mia Bella Couture in tears- happy ones!!!! The store is owned by the sweetest couple I've ever met who went above and beyond working with me today + they bring their 7 month old golden doodle to the store so I received dog therapy hehe. All of their gowns are sooooo reasonably priced, HIP/fashion forward, well taken care of, and their availability to do custom work is honestly SO next level They hand make custom pieces right in their store!!!!! I cannot express how thankful I am to have had such a wonderful, relaxing, positive, uplifting, and NON FORCEFUL experience in their store today and I can say without a doubt that I will be a returning life time customer as long as I am competing in pageantry. The little things really do go a long way and I hope the owners know how much hope and faith they've restored in me!
