We love their cupcakes. I love the varieties and that they have gluten free and vegan. My niece is vegan and loves them. So whenever we want to get her something sweet we come here. I have been here a handful of times and have tried around 10 different flavors and only fully enjoyed one cupcake. I purchased 6 different kinds yesterday and ALL of them were very dry and only a couple of them had a delicious flavor. I keep returning in hopes to have that one perfect delicious cupcake that I once had months ago. I follow Mia Bella on Instagram and commented on their post about my experience with them yesterday and they deleted it! A simple response would've been nice. My partner and I stopped by this morning for cupcakes as a birthday treat and were blown away by the vegan cupcakes! We tried the birthday cake and peanut butter chocolate flavors. The cake was moist but also light and delicate, with creamy delicious frosting. I normally scrape off most of the frosting when eating cupcakes, but this was so good I'd eat it with a spoon. I was able to call long distance to pre-purchase a dozen cupcakes for my son in Arcata as a gift...and he then walked in and chose his cupcakes from the day's selection. He said they were all excellent...from the salted caramel to the mint chocolate to the peanut butter. Really appreciated the flexibility to make this work by phone - very friendly and helpful! I come here often, if I could afford once a week I would. As someone who can not eat gluten without getting sick for over 12 hours, and loves baked goods, life can be hard. I hate giving bad reviews to local businesses, however maybe the owner will read this review and it will be a wake-up call. Yesterday at around 4 PM my daughter and I walked into Mia Bella Cupcakes for the first time. We wanted to order cupcakes for my daughters birthday. When we walked in not one person was in the store. I greeted the girl behind the counter and said I wanted to order cupcakes for my daughters birthday. She promptly told me she could not take my order in the store that I had to phone my order in and speak with the owner. I asked if the owner was in, she said yes. I said, well may I speak to her now. She said no. I walked out of the store and called the number on the window. The phone was answered and I asked may I speak to the owner, the woman who answered said, I am the owner. I said I wanted to order cupcakes for my daughters birthday. She said do you know what you want? I said no I was just in your store and I am standing outside your store but I have no menu. She said we do not have a menu you will have to go on-line and look at our on-line menu. I said well can I order on-line. She said, No you have to look at the menu and then call me back. My question is are you interested in selling cupcakes? Do you want to stay in business? Making it this hard to order cupcakes I doubt you will be in business much longer. Fantastic!! Went to my niece's birthday party at Mia Bella today, and everything was fantastic! The staff is the nicest, most helpful and professional I think I have ever encountered at a children's birthday party. The owner Bonnie taught a wonderful hands on demonstration for decorating cupcakes with fondant, which the kids loved! Everyone who was assisting Bonnie was also very patient and great with working with the kids. I would absolutely recommend Mia Bella for any kids birthday party! The cupcakes were cute, but the lady's mood behind the counter did not match the lively decor (she seemed miserable), the coffee cups had a fine layer of dust over them that I discovered AFTER I had already had a few sips, the free water was in open containers that I'm betting had dust in them also, and my chair was super wobbly. We were so excited for this store to open, we are cupcake lovers. While the 3 that we tried today all had a good frostings, especially buttercremes, none of the cakes were tasty, rather dull and dry, the rasberry filling was very good but only a tiny amount and no other cupcake offered a filling today.
