Avoid! So many issues. 1) When purchasing a new car from them they upsold a "Team 23" maintenance package that was supposed to include 6 free service appointment but when time came to utilize it they acted like they never even heard of it in the service department. Actually took pictures of that offer and every time I went in it was such a headache to deal with. They honored it only twice and played dumb afterwards. Service manager unresponsive to any messages. Didn't have time to deal with them anymore and took my business elsewhere. Felt very shady to me. 2) Nissan is going way down hill. My 2023 had issues and service never addressed them (like rattling speakers on a brand new car). It was a warranty repair and they said they "fixed it" but I don't even know if they did any work on at all because nothing ever changed. Again huge time waster. 3) The salesperson misrepresented the optional extended warranty. They said to my face it was being offered from Nissan directly but if you look at the fine print it was actually from a 3rd party company called Fidelity Warranty Services and it runs concurrent to the 3 year manufacturer warranty. So in essence you are double paying those first 3 years and only after that does the extra warranty kick in. Bottom line next car is not gonna be a Nissan and next dealership certainly won't be Michael Jordan Nissan. If you do deal with them, do not believe anything they say and read over every document very carefully. I suggest just not going there at all. You've been warned! read more

Alice in the service department is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Having our EV fixed at this location has been a huge headache. It seems like they're more annoyed with having to repair the issue with our battery than wanting our business. No one has been clear with expectations, and when we call to ask they give us attitude. Our car has been in the service dept for five weeks, and apparently will take "weeks, maybe even months" to simply replace an EV battery. First, the *one* EV tech they have was in the hospital for two weeks. Then they tell us that they'll have an answer for us in a few days... yet it took us calling multiple times over two weeks before we got an answer. Now they're telling us it will possibly take months to simply change an EV battery. They communicate with us via text, which I find ridiculous. You can't pick up the phone and call me? Yet you get irritated when I have questions or need clarification? Cool. Needless to say, I'll be servicing my Nissan at a different dealership moving forward. That is if I even get the car back at this point! read more

You take your car to a dealership and pay a premium because you expect things to get done and get done right. I recently moved to VA Beach and had only Friday 6/3 and the weekend to find out why my car was making a weird noise. After making an appointment I found out that I I had to get my alternator replaced. An employee told me on Friday that they didn't have the part but if we ordered it then it could get there on Saturday 6/4. He went even further to say that he would give me a call on Saturday when he had his hands on the part. I drove my car home and the next day, Saturday, I waited and waited for a call. I never received a call so at 1pm I called asking for an update. After quite a wait the lady on the phone informed me they had the part in but because it was so late they couldn't fix it until next week. I was furious! I drove back to the dealership and talked with the service manager Rick. He listened to my concerns took ownership of the miscommunication and lack of professionalism. He made sure that my car was repaired promptly and that I was able to get back to VA Beach so that I could commute to work at the hospital on time Monday morning. Rick provided the "award winning customer service" that the rest of my experience was lacking. Because of this stellar instance of accountability and excelling expectations to correct a wrong I give them 4 stars. read more

What a distasteful experience at Michael Jordan Nissan Team 23 in Durham. I spoke to a very nice gentleman and then we texted that this car was for my Son who I had to drive 2 hours to get him and come back about 6 hours. The car was in the price range .I asked what would be the take home price with fees and all. I told them what my budget was and that I already had a pre-approval check with a limited amount. They agreed to an amount I declined the $250 deposit that was asked of me to hold a car. I told the salesman that my husband said if the car was not for us then it will sell. I never paid or asked them to hold the vehicle. I just commicated via text that I was coming . I explained that I would be driving to Jacksonville,NC to get my son and then to Michael Jordan Nissan in Durham. I told the salesmen that this dealer would be my FIRST stop. Meaninf we are shopping around.That took me from 11:am till about 5:45pm 6 hours and 45 minutes. We arrived and my son test drove the car. While waiting for the key another sales rep was like" this is a nice car, we had 3 hits on it today and we said no, we are holding this for someone. That felt weird. It made me feel like I promised to buy a car that I never test drove or even seen. The car door was loose and the seats and the sun visors were soiled and dusty with a funny smell in the car. My son wanted to explore his options which is what I taught him to do. Everything went south once we said thank you , we will go to our next stop at westgate. My son said if I do not find anything at Westgate, I will come back. We asked if he was working tomorrow (Saturday) and he said no but to mention his name. He said but let's make a deal today and before he could finish that statement, This guy came bussing through the doors waving his arms like a referee Chris crossing and yelled " THE DEAL IS OFF THE TABLE" THE DEAL IS OFF THE TABLE I looked in amazement. I was confused and was like who is this? I said you seem a little upset. He said yes we held the car for you and two other customers wanted it. I said ok, call them back. He yelled again " WE WILL! WE WILL as he is shaking his head like he had it up to here with us. Like we committed a crime.He literally ran us off the lot with that attitude. I truly did not want to provoke him any further. I said "C'mon son He's mad". I felt embarrassed at the same time, enlightened to how he does business . This was yet a teachable moment for my 19 year old. He said wow the true colors come out when there is no deal. At that moment he said " Mom if I don't find anything at Westgate, I am still not coming back here. What happened? How disrespectful to your co-workers and the general Public. After all said and done we went to Fred Anderson/Toyota- Nissan and we were greeted with a calm personality. We were offered coffee and we sat down to look at our budget. From the first Salesman to the finance manager and the paperwork detail. I felt appreciated, validated as a customer and to top it all off we are happy with our purchase in the price range. CROOKS Nissan's quality control led to a class action lawsuit. Because it was NOT a recall, MJ Nissan felt no need to inform me of my faulty parts endangering my family. Despite the fact that I was IN MJ NISSAN FOR SERVICE MULTIPLE TIMES SPENDING MONEY during the time period where my car/parts were eligible for replacement. They did not mention this to me until long after the time period ended, after spending thousands on regular services. They asked me to pay about $1500 for it while refusing to run tests to check my faulty parts. Never giving them or Nissan a dollar ever again. BUNCH OF CROOKS! read more

Originally bought my van from here and back when I bought it the place was great but over time had just gotten worse. I took my van to get repaired due to a loss in power and was told it was the timing chain and needed to be replaced and the a timing sensor and paid $6,200 in parts and labor just for me to pay and pick it up exactly the same way I originally brought it in! Called and the said just now that my catalytic converters may be clogged and it'll be another $3,700 to repair that so I basically am spending close to $10,000 in repairs. UPDATE got the catalytic converters changed by my own mechanic and issue still didn't get fixed the other mechanic states that the timing chain wasn't installed properly causing to misfire and cause issues with it and make more damage to my engine read more

Really disappointed with the sales department at this "dealership." I have had to use their service department before and was pleased with the results. As for purchasing a car here, stay away. First their online pricing is misleading unless you qualify for every type of discount Nissan offers. They also try to charge you for many items you do not want like phone charging cords for $90, all weather mats for $400 and a first aid kit for $200. Then the "sales" manager will tell you that you have to get their Team 23 Service plan for $2500, not an option but a requirement. Next, they offered us $3000 less than 3 other dealerships offered for our 2016 Trade in. They offered $5100 for a car they will sell for over $10,000. At this point I'm more than a little upset. I begin to question the charges and the "sales" manager interrupts me. At that point, I was done. My first thought was that perhaps he didn't understand we were serious about purchasing the car today so I told him we paid cash for our last car to point out he's missing a sale by not dealing in good faith. I guess he assumed incorrectly again, this was me bragging(Since he said Congratulations) when I was just trying to buy a car today.....it's not contingent on loan approval, etc. We went to Fred Anderson Nissan in Raleigh. Everyone there was much friendlier and straightforward in their pricing which is where we purchased the new car today. Way to lose a sale. I called back about 10 times before someone finally answered the phone. I spoke with JULIE MARTIN about getting a service price for an oil pan gasket. She sent my call to the Parts department and I spoke with a guy named DAYTON. I told him why would her a** send me to Parts when I specifically asked her for pricing for this service. DAYTON places me on hold for approximately 5 minutes. He connects me back to JULIE MARTIN and I say, Hmmm..back to you again? She says "yeah back to my a** again and hung up the phone without helping me. I reported my experience to Corporate headquarters. I found out that unfortunately I needed a transmission and gave my business to Millex Transmission who did an absolutely fantastic job. They have hired an entire new staff at Michael Jordan Nissan and I needed to trade in my kicks to lower my monthly costs after Fred Anderson took advantage of my naïveté on a trade in. The first one to meet me was Tony at the door and ushered me right into Mia who had been so kind reaching out to be with options. I was then sent over to Michael who spoke to me as a person not through paper and Jonathan is just an outstanding, compassionate and sympathetic man went to bat getting the numbers where I needed. When I changed my mind about the initial car after I signed the papers, there was no anger or debating, just a good human wanting to help. They repaired it but we have had problems with this vehicle every since. If you are looking for a great vehicle don't go here but if you want cheap you get what you pay for. Back in April we bought a Ram Laramie from Michael Jordan Nissan. Within hours of leaving the lot, the vehicle began having problems, starting with an alignment that pulled extremely hard to one side. After driving it for almost two hours to get home, it was very apparent that the alignment needed corrected. Within the next couple days, the charging pad in the front console began not working. A couple of weeks later, it started raining and we noticed a very large leak in the rear window. At that time we took the vehicle in to Michael Jordan Nissan since this was all within a very short time. The used car manager, Jonathan, was very hard to deal with and almost didn't seem to want to make it right. Eventually he gave us a loaner and they ended up keeping the Ram for close to two weeks. Supposedly the Ram dealership in Durham fixed all of these issues and said the truck was good to go. We make the trip back up to Durham from Fayetteville to pick the Ram up. (All the while the other vehicle we purchased from them was in the shop for a sensor issue when we had JUST purchased that vehicle just days prior) So we had TWO vehicles that were purchased within a month that were both now in the shop. Both used cars. Jonathan was less than compassionate in this situation. We picked the Ram up and a couple of months later we notice the truck smelling really badly. The back window was still leaking, water pouring in the vehicle just as if the window wasn't there. We take the Ram to the local dealership only to find out this vehicle has been in an accident that wasn't reported on the carfax and now there are tens of thousands of dollars that are not covered under warranty and we are expected to pay for it on our own. I contacted Sabrina Hemby, who is literally the most amazing person, who immediately told the manager, Jonathan. The manager assured me that if I brought the vehicle to him right that moment, he would work out a deal and get us in something the same, if not better. He had a 2023 Demo he could get us in with no problem. Needless to say.... Many problems! I rushed up to Durham only for Jonathan to advise me that without another 13k down, there was nothing he could do. Excuse me?!? You had me drive two hours to tell me something you could have told me over the phone? Then I find out that while I'm there, he runs my credit WITHOUT my approval to see what I could be approved for. Jonathan then told me that without the 13k down, I would just be stuck with the Ram that was in an accident without my knowledge. Jonathan was "so bothered" by the fact that I wouldn't fork out 13k that he had to immediately leave the office not to even return. He sent in a finance manager (who is a very close friend of mine and is one of two reasons we have bought over 8 vehicles from them. Corey Hemby and his wife are the ONLY reason we continue to do business with the dealership) in to just buy our truck back and call it even. I really had no choice at this point. So we've paid on a vehicle since April to only drive for three of the four months we've had it and now you will pay off my loan but I'm now screwed with no second vehicle. I purchased a used Xterra yesterday and would not recommend them. I do feel that I got a reasonable offer on my trade and the car I purchased. However, the guy that worked on the numbers tried to charge me 1,000 over the internet price listed. Also, I let negotiating the price go because they would not budge and were pushy, but the one thing that really irritated me was that I said ok to all their terms but asked that they install the stock Rockford fosgate system that wasn't in the car I purchased, and they would not do it. Had to be $200 at most and they acted like I requested something so unreasonable. *bottom line- if you find a car that is perfect at the price and features you want and cant find else where then go, otherwise I would try somewhere else. read more

We had a great experience at MJ in Durham. We started out at Leith in Cary yet were not getting the option, pricing or even service we were expecting. I made an online appointment first at MJ and was then set up with Lisa in internet sales. She greeted us and then introduced us to our saleman, Javier, who showed us the vehicle and all the technology and features of the Rogue. The showroom is very clean and modern and they had the car we were interested in pulled up and ready to go. Javier was extremely kind and knowledgeable about all the features because the cars have so many upgrades and features that a tutorial is extremely helpful. The sales process was not very painful and I would say what makes MJ stand out is all the accolades and awards they have won for best Nissan dealership in Central NC. No one else can claim the number of awards and consecutive years as they can. They also offer a lifetime warranty on the powertrain that goes beyond the traditional 3 year/36k mile warranty. Chris was our next point of contact and he was very thorough with the paperwork and professional. We also met the top salesman named the "champ" and he needs no introduction. The team here is great and we look forward to coming back for the service and car of the new car. read more

I am not satisfied with the service at this location. I came all the way from Ms. with the intent on finding a job and possibly making this place my home. I went in to get my oil changed. I was greeted so friendly by Chris who gave me a run down on the best services. If I get the oil service for $121 as opposed to the cheaper one I can go an extra 1000 miles. Now I'm wondering if this was true. I go back to my hotel to wait for them to call me to pick my car up and while I'm waiting I get a call. I was asked who usually changes my oil I told him the Nissan dealership back home. He said my oil pan was dented and there was no possible way I would make it back to Ms if I tried to drive there. He said the oil pan had a dent in it and it was leaking oil on the inside. I have a 2021 Nissan Kick it had 10,000 plus miles. I wasn't having a problem with my car it was time for an oil change. I was told it would be $700 to get this fixed and the part would be in the next day and he would have me ready to go by 2pm. I felt something wasn't right. When I questioned him and asked to see pictures he came back with glared pictures I could barely see and the dented oil pan looked old. He said the tech had led him to believe it was worse than it was and I could make it home but to stop at another Nissan half way through and let them put a quart of oil in there to top me off. Not good. I checked half way through oil levels were fine. Car drove good. There was no smell of oil burning. To be safe I took it to Firestone at home and the guy showed me my oil pan and it was not dented. He said it was not leaking anything and I had been lied to. Don't buy a car here. They are super nice and helpful and responsive - until you actually buy the car. They sold me a NEW car covered with scratches. "From them ripping the plastic off too hard." Said their paint team would fix it, took it in & they didn't fix anything. Sent me somewhere else but the scratches were so deep, it barely made a difference. I waited for months for my weather mats that came with my car. Said they'd install them during my service appointment and somehow forgot. So got them shipped weeks laterEvery time I come in for service, I somehow need something fixed that isn't covered under warranty. ON A YEAR OLD CAR. The door stripping has come off countless times. It gets fixed but then falls off again. "It's just a problem with the Rogue. It sucks but it's just a common problem." Is what I was told. I just left this last weekend from getting an inspection. Somehow I need 2 new front tires, an alignment, and brake fluid. I just bought this car a year ago. There is no way possible I should need new tires. They should last double the mileage I have - if not more. So either they sold me a car with used tires, which I wouldn't put past them considering the scratches. Or they're lying to make more money and think I'm an idiot. I was texted by the service director to see if I was pleased with my service. Which obviously is just an automated message. Because as soon as I shared my concerns, I haven't heard anything back for days of course. I wish I would've bought a car somewhere else because this establishment couldn't make it anymore clear that they only care about you/your car before you to buy it. I received a mailer from MJ Nissan for which I had qualified for a loan based on my increased credit score from Frank Boekle. The offer made it seem like I would get a really low interest rate and when I spoke with Boekle he went even lower and convinced me to make an appointment. When I arrived we discussed my situation again with my current vehicle and that I was seeking a lower payment. Instead of giving me the offer advertised in the mailer sent specifically to me based on my good credit history he did a bait and switch. He decided that I could not qualify for a vehicle with lower payments but ran a credit check anyway even though they already knew my credit scores. I am very disappointed and would never recommend this dealership to anyone. They should practice truth in advertising and not waist peoples valuable time. read more

Pretty disgusted with MJN; power windows and locks went out on my 2013 Altima in 2020, took it to them and they said it was a master switch and charged me $500 to "replace" it (after billing me more than they'd quoted and I had to argue to get them to honor the original quote). Two days later the windows and locks went back out- had to take the car back again, leave it with them etc.- obviously the repair hadn't been done correctly. Got the car back, windows/locks mostly worked but froze up for a few minutes or hours here and there. I was mad about it but just didn't have the time or patience to deal with it and MJN. About 18 mos later windows/locks went out for several days- MJN is like sorry, work is warrantied for 12 mos., tough luck. I'm thinking, you never did it right the first time and why should this replacement part last less than 2 years?! Finally, windows/locks went out altogether this week. I went to MJN in person, told them I was aware of the 12 mos. warranty but they obviously didn't fix the problem to begin with, maybe they could just recognize that and get the issue resolved. Nope, sorry you're dissatisfied, have a nice day. Punchline: went to Wallace Auto Electric in Durham, they pried off the armrest to get to the switch/wiring and fixed it in 10 mins., charged me $40. Screw Michael Jordan Nissan. They're either dishonest or incompetent and I'm not sure what they even did when they charged me that $500 in 2020, or if they replaced anything. I purchased a 2015 Nissan Rouge with MJ Nissan last March. The deal was fine and the financing went well or so I thought. I was talked into purchasing a maintenance package that could be used at any Nissan dealership, that is not the case. The dealership or company has to accept the coupons that they send you in the mail. I was not made aware of any coupons so I accidentally threw away the first set. Initially, thinking that the maintenance package was under my VIN number, I called another dealership to try to schedule an oil change, as I had been paying out of pocket for them since I purchased the car a year ago. Well the package was not under the VIN. I had to call and have MJ Nissan send another set of coupons in the mail. In the process of all this, I asked to speak to the sales manager in order to discuss the lies regarding the maintenance package. He was very condescending and told me I should be a little nicer if I want things done. I explained to him, I am not being rude but this is not a friendly call because we are not friends. This involves business and business is not a social call. He could not disagree however he had no resolve for my issue. He told me that the financing guys do not lie. Even though I explained to him in detail the situation, he still did not offer an apology or resolve. I also explained to him that I bought a friend to MJ Nissan to purchase a car and the deal was bad. She was driving the car around for a month without actually owning the car. The bank was calling her asking for a down payment but she never agreed to a down payment. She had to take a day off work, drive back to MJ Nissan from Winston Salem to redo her deal because the guy was selling bad deals. She was told he was fired for embezzlement, while she was there at least 5 other people had to come back in to redo their financing deals because of that same guy. While she was there no one offered an apology or anything. They treated her like it was her problem the guy was writing bad deals. If it were me, I would have left the car there. I told the sales manager about this incident and he flat out called me a liar. He said no one has ever been fired for embezzlement and they are honest people. He said all this not knowing I was with my friend the first time she purchase the car and the second time when they had to redo the deal. However I just let him gloat about their honesty policy, knowing the truth. I have always been a Honda driver but I decided to try something new. I will return to Honda because of this experience. I will never drive another Nissan! If I could give this place zero stars it would have definitely earned that or even less. Negative stars would be even better because of the time and money they take away from people without remorse or regard. I said all this to say this, stay as FAR AWAY from MJ Nissan as possible. It was so terrible, I had to leave. I emailed all day with the 'internet sales manager,' told her about my situation and was told to come in and test drive vehicles. When I arrived, I told them...again....that I had my own financing, explained my situation....again... then while explaining to the lady, who had to walk out of the room 2 times to talk to someone else, a man came in. He squeezed the mess out of my hand and loudly proclaimed he was the 'problem solver,' they kept insisting they run my credit. I didn't want that! I wanted to see cars and numbers. It was very intimidating. Needless to say, I have a brand new Honda Civic, with a rear camera!, 53 miles, decked out!! Think twice before going by MJN, I would not recommend them, especially if you have your own financing.... I guess they get more money if they use their financing companies! read more

My first car from MJ Nissan was a brand new 2007 Altima. It was my first ever brand spanking new car (love that new car smell). At the time I lived in Brooklyn and was driving a 1991 white lincoln towncar (fancy name for a Gypsie cab) that I inherited from my uncle. After being hailed down one too many times and having someone jump in the car at a stoplight saying, Nostrand and Union, I decided I needed an upgrade. A friend recommended MJ Nissan in North Carolina. I humored her and called. So glad I did. The price for my Altima was lower than what I was quoted at dealerships in NYC and New Jersey. AND, they had someone drive the car to down to me free of charge. Sure I could have had it shipped but that's a cost I did not want to deal with and MJ Nissan guaranteed that my car would be in good hands. They were right. Fast forward to 2010. I was engaged and we had babies on the brain so we decided to upgrade to something bigger but still hip. We first went to a dealership in NYC (I'm notorious for not learning from past mistakes), and were appalled at the pricing for the Rogue. We walked out and I called MJ Nissan. The quote MJ gave us for a brand new rogue was so much better. So we traded in our Altima for a brand new Rogue. The Rogue was driven to us and the driver drove the Altima back to the dealership. I have never stepped foot in this place nor have I met the person that sold me the car, but my impression is extremely positive because of their excellent customer service via phone. The process was seamless. I did everything over the phone. I already knew what I wanted; it was just a matter of getting a better deal, which I did at MJ Nissan. I was also debating leasing over financing. They gave me the pros and cons of both and allowed me to make my own decision. They also try to get you the best interest rate. In our case, it was phenomenal. We are now in the burbs and are thinking about getting a second car. Once we make a finally decision, we will buy from MJ Nissan. We may actually go down there ourselves this time. read more

I got yo-yo financed, twice. Didn't realize this is such a common tactic. They sold me a new 2013 Altima for $21,700 at 0% financing and zero down. A few days later, Ken Massenburg called back, claiming it was Nissan financing's fault but that interest rates would have to rise to 0.9%. He calls back again after several days asking for $4K down. I paid both times--just to get them off my back--but I'm complaining to the Attorney General's consumer protection group. Beware, this dealership will use these sorts of tactics on you - I learned my lesson: never leave the dealership and sign the paperwork UNTIL the financing has been approved. ADDENDUM: I was contacted by Rick Simonette--who I'd originally agreed to the deal with over the phone--and he explained the mis-communication clearly and reimbursed me the interest difference. At this point, I believe that this was a lack of clarity regarding the specifics of the deal, rather than specific utilization of yo-yo finance trickery to con me. I commend the firm for being pro-active in resolving the issue, and would recommend the dealership with the caveat that less experienced car buyers not rely on them to cover all bases. Do your homework, know exactly what to expect, and minimize the opportunity for these sorts of nasty surprises. read more

Horrible service, and dirty crooks. Never going there again. New to town, first time oil change WITH an appointment took 3 hours!? Second time, for an oil change the service guy came out and tells me fairly new Rogue (w/low miles) is unsafe because of belts and brakes needing replacement, but don't worry it's only $500 worth of parts/labor. Fortunately, I am not an idiot and got a 2nd opinion. I took it to a local mechanic and they checked it bumper to bumper and not one thing was wrong with it. This place gives mechanics and Nissan a terrible name. It makes me sick to think of all the people they swindle. read more

New to North Carolina, I took the effort to secure my financing before I arrived at this dealership. The first salesman that took me for a test drive wanted to bully me into only test driving to where he wanted me to test drive, I asked for a new salesman who sold me a car but didn't tell me that he changed the financing to have financing through this dealership? My apr was higher and it didn't seem legit to me. When I went to sign the papers Bhobie was very talkativie, telling me what each paper was for, then he asked me to sign off the computer while still making light talk, he had me sign this arbitration and never explained what it was. These people are very slick be very careful with them. When I went to return the car they were very rude and told me that the law only applied to Kirby vacuum buyers. read more

Please BEWARE when taking your car to Michael Jordan Nissan. My husband took my 2012 Murano in to get the front brake pads replaced. First of all they tried to talk him into getting a $150.00 brake fluid replacement job,then they told him I needed my rear brakes replaced. SURPRISE to them when he told them I had just gotten them replaced 4 months ago. They said well whoever did it did not turn the rotors and the brakes were not Nissan parts. We called Leith Nissan in Cary (the ones that did the brake job in October) and they told us not to believe anything they say that they were only trying to get our money. So we took it the same day back to Leith Nissan and the manager said the back brakes were good as new. I would never recommend Michael Jordan Nissan to anyone. I will drive out of my way anytime to take it to Leith Nissan in Cary. I guess you can't trust anyone anymore. Let's just hope my brakes are o.k. after paying over $300.00. read more

First time back here in I want to say over a year since the terrible sales service I got the last time I was here. Why I expected it to improve, I don't know. But trying to tell me I NEED to get two air filters and a corrosion treatment on my new car's battery for $35 each and $80 respectively, in addition to attempting to get me to pay another $140 for a brake fluid flush, ALL AT ONCE? Ridiculous. Why would I come out of pocket for over $300, when I came here for an OIL CHANGE. And if it was actually the case that I needed all of this work done, Fred Anderson Nissan would have told me that when I was there less than two months ago. MJ Nissan is absolutely ridiculous and service and sales Customer Service sucks. Sorry to use such language, but I don't understand why Nissan service is so bad. Or maybe it's just urban areas? The Nissan dealership in High Point, NC never treated me like this. If this wasn't the only dealership in Durham, I would DEFINITELY go elsewhere. Visit at your own risk. Brief update...after pulling off the lot in my car I realized that the associate gave me significantly incorrect information. I have a lease, so I am required to regularly maintain this vehicle. I was told that I could bring my car back in April, naturally assuming that the little reminder sticker would be in my front windshield. Not the case. I don't know at what mileage my car should be returned for an oil change. It's the little things, and I wish I could reduce the one star given to half of one for the inconvenience. read more

My experience with the service department is always fine. Not great, but not terrible. They are always friendly enough. Maybe not as speedy as past dealerships I've gone to, but not the worst either. However, I'm not sure why they bother to ask questions about what you need when you call in to make an appointment, because it's clearly not noted. This has happened a few times where I call prior to my appt to make note of an issue, but when I come in to get service, I have to repeat myself. This most recent time they didn't even bother to check on the issue until I asked about it for a third time at check out. ***I'm updating this review to 4 stars, because they ended up not charging me to the diagnostic inspection. read more

DO NOT BUY HERE! So I have bought 2 cars from this dealership. Honest opinion how I felt. They do not care about the customer at all. My first car was a 2015 Nissan Versa. It was my first car purchase I didn't have no experience whatsoever in buying cars, instead of showing me and making me feel welcomed they pushed me a pressured me,and the sales guy took advantage. So pushy to sell me a car, aggressive too. Sold me a car at 12.99% no discounts or nothing, and manager added a bunch of extra stuff without my consent. Ok learned lesson., my fault for not reading about purchasing a car. I was ignorant. Service department was ok. They kept ignoring my statement that my car had something going on with it with a sound , seem like belt or something (not car savvy here). They kept saying it was "normal" for cars to have sounds like that, aha. Dragged for 6 months. Turned out it was the timing cover and serpentine belt, was slowly leaking oil.I had to take car to AAA for them to diagnose it cuz nissan would keep brushing me off. Told them that was covered by warranty, they come out saying its not warranty worthy cuz is from normal deterioration. In my head Im like well if you guys had not ignored me For 6 months and inspected the car like you were supposed to , it would have not worn out so fast. Anywho, I like Nissan and bought another car, (gave them second chance) . Bought a Rogue 2019. Fought a lot for a good deal. And yet again sales manager was trying to add extra stuff saying "what comes included in your vehicle " making you think is included in price .When signing the contract, he purposely make you sign the extras electronically (again saying it comes included with your car) instead of printed like the rest of contract and does not show you those papers and quickly changes to more papers to sign so be careful. Sales manager is sketchy and scamming, and will try to get you somehow. Made my 2 car purchases a dissatisfying and disappointing experience. DONT BUY HERE!!! Within week nissan rouge camera stopped working , we took it to services. Took about 4 weeks to get it repaired cuz they couldn't get part. Every visit I go is a bit disappointing, even when I was in the right they don't apologize for nothing. Almost finish paying rogue, will never buy from here again. Honestly if you like nissan you are better off at fred anderson nissan, they give you family plan, extra ameneties for your money like lifetime oil changes. I just got a new car at Fred Anderson Toyota, switching it up for a change see if they were better at customer service. Not once did they try to add extra crap to my price. They did offer. Nice customer service and made my car purchase experience feel like heaven compared to Michale Jordan Nissan. At the end of day is it your choice were you buy , this is just a summary of my experience here as someone who has bought from this dealership and used their services for a few years. I thought car dealerships were supposed to want to sell cars. Adequate assumption, right? Apparently Michael Jordan Nissan has other priorities. Like not greeting customers and taking them for a test drive avoiding the highways after being told that highway performance was a priority. However, our salesman, James was nice and knowledgeable. I explained that I did not have my title and it was in a former married name, however, I have the court documents relinquishing the rights of my car (specifically listing the VIN) and I did not know where my ex-husband even was considering we divorced in 2005. The salesperson didn't think it would be a problem (and we were already assured it wouldn't be at another dealer) and went to get the financial manager to discuss the title and my trade in. Now when this guy shows up - his first words out of his mouth were extremely condescending and it went downhill from there. He kept speaking over me as I was explaining what type of documentation I had to tell me "I know how the DMV works and they won't care." He refused to even look at my car (which is in very good condition) because "it was a waste of [his] time." Additionally he told me not to go to another dealership until I have a viable title. He spoke to me as if I was 5 years old through the whole two minutes he talked AT me. With my dad sitting right there. As if we were beneath him. I understand that it is an unusual and difficult situation. But Sport Durst was confident that they could take care of it, perhaps at an additional cost. I am willing to go to the DMV myself but after he refused to "waste his time" looking at my car I won't waste his either. See ya. read more
