This js a great place to get work done. Miles, the general manager, is friendly and keeps you up to date on the service of your vehicle. Their financing options are great in case your repairs are beyond what you have in the bank. I've been coming here for years. However, they have had an overturn of customer reps as well as mechanics. My most recent service took two days to address my issues, but I was would still recommend them along with anyone else. You can only go off of your own personal experience. They did my most recent job that was not to satisfactory levels I've experienced in the past. However, one negative experience does not negate the many positive experiences I've had. I have never written a review but this place was the worst experience i've had. I went to firestone about a week ago on the 24 of october 2025 for an alignment. simple. Then after 3 days i need to come back for another alignment. the steering wheel was worse then when i took it. I took it back the next day and i wait 1 hour for them to tell me that they can't do the alignment because the technician wasn't there. So they told me to come back tomorrow at any time and after waiting an hour i need inner and outer tie rods on both sides. Okay that was fine my uncle is a mechanic and he could do it. i knew if i would do it with them they would over charge me or maybe it wasn't even necessary. Somehow when i left firestone my steering wheel was back to normal even though they said they couldn't do anything. 3 days after my car has a flat tire. My entire left tire was gone. My right tire was showing the threading. My front left tire was wearing out from the inner tire. They also left a loose bolt. I had so much trust in them and they put me in a car that could've put me in danger. I was driving the far places not knowing that my car wasn't safe. If they saw my tie rods how did they not see my tires were ripping apart because of them. They did replace the rear tires but that doesn't justify the fact i was driving that. After they put the tires on my car they didn't even do the alignment again(which was fine), they didn't even want to touch my car anymore so I honestly need a refund because i had bought the 12 month alignment. just for them to mess up the first time and i am never going back. read more

After a long wait for a change of tire I was given the list. You know the one, here is everything wrong with your car, list. They said because I blew a tire I needed all of this work done. I had no problem breaking, my breaks did not even make noise, I had new break pads put in less then a year ago, but low and behold my car had NO, that's 0; break pads. They brought me out there to look at the spot where break pads should be. My breaks worked perfectly before I hit the pot hole and now suddenly I had none? They told me that because I had no breaks, they would need to replace my rotors. I looked at them, they were silver, smooth and upon Googleing pictures, they looked to be in pristine condition. I showed them and they stated it was damaged even if I could not see it, but they could try to buffer them out instead of replacing them. I said I didn't want it, and they said they could not send me home with messed up rotors. I eventually agreed to the buffering. They stated I had to get my car aligned as a blown tire (which I pulled over for, immediately) messed up my alignment. I only agreed to this because it was already on my list of things to do. They talked me into a life time alignment plan. They had to go buy my tire which took half the day, then when I got into my car, my steering was jerking hard to the right! I went back in and was told to get another alignment I would need to come back another day. I told them that they just DID the alignment (or said and charged me for it.) And it obviously was not done or done very, very badly. (I just dished out nearly $1000 for what was supposed to be a simple tire replacement!) He just shrugged and walked away. Do not deal with this shop. I loaned my daughter my Toyota Sienna and she had a screw stuck in the tire. She had used this shop before and I told her to have them patch or plug the tire. They said the screw was in the side wall (I have a picture and it was not). They just wanted to sell a tire. So I asked them to put the spare on the van and they said okay. They called me back and said it was done and ready for pickup ($26). My daughter went to pick it up the next morning and it still had the same wheel on it, with the screw stuck in it. I called them and they said they couldn't get the spare down and didn't have the tool. The se guys are a rip off. The tool is in the back of the van with the jack. "To lower the spare tire on a 2000 Toyota Sienna, gather the jack and tools from the rear passenger side panel. Locate the access hole in the rear passenger-side floor, under the carpet, and insert the adapter into it. Then, use the jack handle with the hook to turn the mechanism counterclockwise, which will lower the spare tire from under the vehicle. TLDR: Firestone can't honor appointments, don't go here. Needed to take a car in and got an appointment on a Monday to go in on Wednesday at 11am. I thought that my car had a nail in its tire so I wanted to make sure and take it back to the place that I got my tires from. A day before my appointment someone calls me from this firestone and tells me that they are booked and that I do not have an appointment because their books are full. So I called the call center customer service for firestone and the lady goes into this location's system to check their schedule and shows that I did have an appointment for Wednesday at 11 AM at the correct location. So I show up on Wednesday for the appointment regardless of what the lady said at this location and she again insists that I do not have an appointment. At this point I have to work basically from Thursday through Monday and cannot come back to wait and can't drop my car off. They almost DONT let me stay & wait for my car but thankfully they wanted to keep one to the techs busy so they assigned me to him. So I waited and asked to also get my headlight checked and my window checked (it's not going down). The tech checks my headlight /changed the turn signal but then says to me "oh it's raining outside (sprinkling) so I'm not gonna check your window you'll have to make an appointment for that." It's ironic because I would love to make an appointment and DID. It's more so a matter of, will they actually be able to stick to MY appointment. Don't go here. Most likely if you make an appointment they won't actually have you in their system anyway for that time and day or at least won't honor it as an appointment. I rarely write reviews but felt like I should share my experience so other women don't go to this shop. As a young woman, I always get a little nervous to go into mechanic shops to get my car worked on in fear of being manipulated and coerced into getting work done that I may not need. When I recently went to get my oil changed, the staff informed me, quite rudely, that they recommended a new battery since it was reading low and my key wouldn't come out of the ignition............ it's a mini cooper and they didn't know to press it in to get it out......... The second time, a gentleman was being very condescending and told me "your alternator will blow out and cost more to fix than the price of your car" (!!!!) that didn't sound right to me so I called up my mechanic friend and he said that talk was absolute bogus talk!!! I went to AutoZone to get my battery tested to be sure and it was at 94%.... It's very frustrating seeing businesses try to take advantage of customers and not keep the customers best interest at heart! Very disappointed with my experience. read more

This place is NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN!! Do not come here! The employees are PREDATORY!! I'm a young, single mom and was continuously sexually harassed, taken advantage of, lied to and defrauded by this Firestone- all of which I have proof of. They had my car for 5 days and worked me up a $2,000 bill of services I did not need, and they did not perform- yet charged me for. On the test drive I took with one of their mechanics- (after they said they fixed the problem and charged me) the mechanic immediately starts having a screaming fight with his girlfriend- cussing and punching himself, all while I'm trapped in the car...MY OWN CAR terrified. (And I have this on recording).And surprise surprise, the test drive showed they did NOT fix what they said they did. They have my car for 3 more days and supposedly fix it. I end up paying and getting my car, I didn't trust them and immediately drove it to a different mechanic. They found several more services that I was charged for, that they simply did not do. The owner and district manager of this Firestone have ignored my several attempts to contact them to fix this situation, both as it was happening and after I got my vehicle back. Then had the audacity to send me a survey from contacting their "support" email- that they never responded to! Called about a front wheel alignment and was told my tie rod was broken after just barely looking under the car outside for a minute. Was told that it would be an extensive 2 day repair and the alignment was not the only thing needed. Took it down the street and just got an alignment and the truck is running fine. This could have been an expensive trip for someone else if they didn't know better. It's a shame! read more

Here's another review about the lousy service. Today I made an appointment online for a simple oil change at the store I've used for decades. The email that I received said that IF there was a problem with the scheduling, then THEY would call me. They didn't do that!!! When I arrived I was told that I did NOT have an appointment. The guy made it seem as if I had messed up. I said I could wait, but he made it seem like there was NOBODY in the shop who could do an oil change (but there were only 2 people in the waiting area). I asked if I could get an appointment in the next few days. NOPE--it would be about a week. This guy didn't look at me, he didn't say that he was sorry, or anything like that. He just stroked the stubble on his chin and treated me like I wasn't even there. BUT I came home, and called another store which is closer to where I work. YES--I have an appointment in two days. I've used firestone a few times and they always take all day to work on the car even if you have an appointment. My tires were well within the warranty's mileage (only about 20,000 miles opposed to 50,000) but I was told that I had voided the warranty by getting my oil change somewhere else and therefore they could not know if I had my tires rotated. I asked if I could bring in receipts from other places and they said no. I was only told this after they had worked on my car and there was no other choice but to pay the over $600. Seems sketchy that I am roped into using them for all services and was not given an option of going somewhere else for my tires with a fair quote. I recently made an appointment with these guys to honor a coupon for a $9.99 special to do a AC system check. I was having a few problems with my vehicle's AC unit, so I decided to give it a go. IT WAS ALL A RUSE FOLKS... They got me in there and wanted to charge me $119.00 for an electrical system diagnostic check on my AC system because they couldn't figure out why it was cycling on & off. I asked, did they do their initial check as stated on the coupon...like checking for loose or blown fuses, loose wiring, or something to that effect? The little fella (who was the service rep) was like, "I imagine the technician did all of that" (which latently means he didn't), and I stated, "why don't you guys just do the initial visual inspection for 'the obvious' first before you hit me over the head with a bill for something that I was only supposed pay $9.99 for initially. You guys see where I'm going with this!? Well, the little fella looked at me like I'd stole his first-born or something and coped an attitude with me...as though, 'how dare I ask them to do something so trivial and simple without them charging me an arm & a leg for it?'. I know, right...I guess I should have been ashamed of myself, huh!? I saw that I wasn't getting anywhere with this guy, he would not budge on the service charge or even giving me the benefit of verifying that they checked the obvious visual culprits. So, I told them to pull my truck out of their shop and bring it around. I have had similar run-ins with Firestone before in Raleigh as well, but I was just hoping...this one time...just this one time, maybe it will be different. I stopped by this location, no appointment because my tires for some reason were very loud. You, would think I was driving a truck. Even though they had several people waiting for their cars, the technician came right out and inspected my tires. Lucky for me the manager was passing by and overhead my issue and knew exactly what the problem was. Manager Miles, is a great asset to this company, he not only treats the customers attentively but talks to them as a friend, and in a professional way which is hard to find anywhere anymore. After having worked here as a mechanic and service writer over a span of about 6 years, leaving, and continuing to bring my car here for it's maintenance I can say they have greatly improved their service over the last year. When I brought my car in for service [oil change, tire rotation/balance/alignment] today I didn't have an appointment, but did have a ride home planned. However my ride was not able to pick me up, I informed the service writer and he said they would try and get me out as quickly as possible. I was in and out within an hour even though I didn't have an appointment and they had not planned on me waiting in their lobby. They informed me of a few issues with my car and provided me with quotes on further repairs and service, but were not pushing the sales as I have seen before. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful including the tech I spoke with. I was overall extremely pleased with my visit today, the fairness of the prices, and the friendliness of the staff. On another side of this, I was also very pleased to see some of the more discouraging employees I had encountered on previous visits no longer here, and I felt a better overall vibe in the shop and service room. read more

Please note that I am reviewing this particular store and not Firestone as a franchise. I have been getting my oil changed at Firestone for 10 years now and have never had an issue until I went to this particular store. And when I say 'issue,' I really mean multiple issues: 1. I was given a hard time for being 10 minutes late for my appointment. I apologized and they still accepted my appointment but made some smart a** remarks before I left. 2. I was told it would take 1.5-2 hours despite having made an appointment. When I don't make appointments it usually takes 1 hour. 3. I was given the wrong keys when I returned for my car. 4. I felt pressured by the sales clerk to open a Firestone credit card. When I declined he made me feel uncomfortable about the decision. 5. I was charged for an oil change and for a coolant flush totaling $117. I had gone in for an oil change only. When I tried to contest that I made an appointment for just an oil change and also stated verbally when I came in that I wanted an oil change, I still had to pay for the total amount. They said if I could bring in my email confirmation of the appointment they will refund me. However, they did not have the capability to look up the original appointment I made online or by phone so I would have to go home to get the proof. 6. I was told never to make an appointment online because it causes problems. I think this is a bigger issue that the franchise needs to take up with this particular store. If making the appointment online causes problems, then it shouldn't be offered on the website. 7. When I left and finally got the right keys to my car, they somehow forgot to give me back my keyless entry. I did end up getting the refund (upon bringing back the email confirmation) so I am grateful for that. All in all, the customer service strongly lacks at this store. I haven't had such a difficult time at a service store in a very long time. I don't plan on ever coming back to this location (even though it is closer to my apartment). But I will go back to the location on Duke Street. I have been there one time and had excellent service. read more

I got charged $760 for: - 2 Front Brakes - 2 Front Rotors - Lifetime Alignment - Brake Fluid Flush and Fill ($60 labor for this?) So in regards to price I have not idea, but seems like a lot for me should be close to $500. Next my car smelled like oil since who ever drove my car got grease all over the driver side door handle and steering wheel. Plus no mat to cover the flooring mat on the driver side. Probably the most unprofessional service job I have experienced. The people at the desk wereOK, nothing to write home about. They are crooks - the mechanic said I needed new shocks b/c my 1 yr old tires were already wearing down (during a tire rotation). I didn't believe him and told them just to pull my car down and let me leave. I got a 2nd opinion and I just needed better tires for my Volvo. When I called the store to complain, the service manager (Chris) said he didn't see anything in his system about shocks being recommended. Well, of course not b/c I didn't even want to stay around for a quote b/c I knew the mechanic was completely wrong. Douchebags! Went today to have my mother in laws car inspected. Wait wasn't bad however I got to the front to pay and they added testing of window tint to the bill. Said it is required by NC inspection. If so every year that she has owned the vehicle no other stati ok n has ever charged for this service. Price $10. You can see through the tint it is obviously not to dark to pass the laws of NC. Then they wanted me to sign saying they informed me of the increase to the original quote. I was never informed of the price or the increase in the price until time to pay the bill. The tech just stood there shaking his head as the checkout guy tried to talk me into signing a form saying I was informed. Never again will I take any vehicle we own to this place. If they are that dishonest there is no telling what else they are dishonest about. read more

Good, professional service. Brought in my late model Ford for routine service. The price was about the same as Jiffy Lube but the service was far more thorough. The mechanic even told me about something that would likely happen to the car at sometime in the near future. The repair would entail replacing a small vacuum hose that the Ford dealer would charge quite a lot to do. He showed me the hose and suggested that I buy one online and put it in the glovebox for its inevitable use. It's a very simple task to replace it, even for a mechanical moron such as myself. For what it's worth, they used Motorcraft (Ford-brand) semi-synthetic oil. Frankly, I don't know whether it's a higher quality than Pennzoil or Castrol, but I've never seen a service center other than the dealer use the specific car's brand-name oil. They also do general repairs and, after talking to the mechanic, I was impressed enough that I will be taking another car there for brakes and A/C repair. I highly recommend this Firestone for routine service and repairs read more

The Store Manager Eddy is great as well as his staff. Myself and my wife drive extremely old corollas, and he was able to find a tire that was about to blow out and gave us an amazing deal. On the same hand he was able to find which fluids needed to be replaced, and which were ok. He found multiple things wrong with our cars that other places missed, but was able to tell us what was important to get done, and what could wait. He was very HONEST and knew we were students that needed help. We left their with feeling that our cars were safe to drive, and he gave us a great deal on all the services. I can truly feel the difference, and they definitely do an honest thorough inspection of the cars. I would highly recommend this facility and definitely make sure to ask for Eddy, he will thoroughly explain everything to you, and let you know exactly what needs to be done in the most COST EFFICIENT way possible. I made an appointment for 10 am for an oil change and an inspection. Around noon I'm wondering what is going on it should not take this long. I ask what's taking so long and the gentleman said "oh he had a lot of inspections before yours so he should be getting to yours next" sooo is there only one guy who does the inspections? If that's the case why allow me to make an appointment or they could have told me it'll be hours so I could have left and came back. I sat until a little after one and at that point my fiancé was just coming to get me so I didn't have to sit anymore. As I'm about to leave I was called back up and told my car failed inspection because of poor tires and a new battery was needed. They wanted to charge me over $2500 for all of this. So I said no I just want my car back and the woman said okay it'll be under an hour ... what - just give me my car?! So I left and they called around 145 to come back and get my car which I was able to do. I ended up taking my car to advanced auto to check my battery and I do not even need a new one so good thing I didn't buy it. I was charged $118 for my oil change and part of the inspection and was told I could come back after I fix everything and only pay $6 more to finish the rest of the inspection but after that fiasco I will not be coming back to this location. Went in for a regular oil change and was told they could start it at 2pm. Upon dropping it off at 2, I went to the store and came back ~45 mins later. I sat in the waiting room for another 45 minutes until I finally asked whether it was almost ready. The attendant seemed unaware that my car was in the garage and on the lift and told me it would be ready in 5 minutes. Thinking I would soon be out of there, I sat back down and got my things ready. Because I was already annoyed with how long it was taking, I decided to time how long it took to be ready after they gave me the 5 minute heads up. All in all, it took another 42 minutes for them to have my car ready. It would be one thing had they told me they hadn't bothered to service it on time, but instead they chose the lying route. This was the icing on the "God awful service" cake. Take your money elsewhere and get a standard oil change somewhere like Jiffy Lube or a dealership. read more

Okay. Long story short, I was driving from Tampa, FL to Maryland and I had an unforeseen contingency when I was entering North carolina--a blown rear tire. I drove another 200+ miles to my friend's house in Chapel Hill, NC to spend a night and hope to find a nearby auto repair shop that's open on sundays. As per my friend's recommendation, I drove my car here to get my tire replaced without an appointment and they took me in first thing in the morning. They were very helpful and despite others' reviews on yelp, they were actually nice folks! I recommend knowing at least few basic specs about the car that you want to bring in for repair because it saves so much time on both ends (looking up tire size, windshield wiper or anything that you can find on your part) They'll ask you if they need to certain information from your car. The price is fair. I know about car decently to tell if they're duping or not. They have a TV there so you can kill time while you wait but i recommend bringing a friend (with a car preferably) there with you so you can go get Durham's finest chicken and waffles at Dame's :) read more

Before I moved to Durham, I always went to the Firestone in Burlington,NC. Since I never had any issues with that location, I figured I would have the same satisfactory experience I had in Burlington. I was wrong. I took my care to the Durham location on University Drive 4 times. The first time I waited 1 and 1/2 hours for an oil change. The second time, after waiting over 3 hours, the front line person realized my paperwork had been sitting there all along and that a technician had already looked at my car. The third time I called to see if I could have a battery put in right away. My car had just been jumped by AAA for the second time, so apparently my battery needed to be changed. I have a 2012 Hybrid, my car is not that old, but the battery is a very small one. The person that answered the phone asked what year and model, I told him and he immediately told me the battery was in, it was $250.00, but they couldn't put it in that day, that I had to come back the following Monday (this was on a Friday). I told them I just had a jump and I wasn't sure it would start again and he said he didn't know what to tell me. I called the Burlington location, he said come in right away, and he would make sure he found a battery for me at a reasonable price. I paid $102.00 at the Firestone in Burlington instead of $250.00 at the Firestone in Durham. The 4th time I went was today, Sept. 24, 2014 at 5:15pm. I waited just outside the garage so someone could check my tires since my tire pressure light was on. There were 3 people working in the garage and 2 people standing off to the side and 1 person walking in and out of the garage. I sat in my vehicle, at the entrance of their garage for 15 minutes. Not one person asked me if I needed help. I've had air put in my tire once before and they told me the next time I need air, drive to the entrance of the garage and someone would take care of me since it only takes a couple of minutes. I guess that was just the one and only employees idea of good customer service. I have a Firestone charge and have used it frequently. It is convenient for unexpected car repairs, which is why I've had the majority of my repairs done at Firestone. I will NEVER go to this location again. I will drive all the way to Burlington or Raleigh before I spend another dime at this location. read more

Let me break this down for ya'll. Here is how it goes with my 3 star rating on this place. 1 star = Online appointment setting, that is just great. Convenient and quick for me to check my planner to make a time. 1 star = Getting my car in and inspecting it immediately to find out the issue and told me what was causing the noise first. 2 stars = Above all else they fixed the issue, my car sounds great, and I have no complaints in the service. -1 star = It is clearly corporate policy but they racked up about a billion (recommended) charges on my initial bill. If you don't do previous research on what you think is wrong with your car or get a second opinion they could screw you over pretty hard, so i had to turn down about 6 different extra services. It is also probably super corporate that they do offer to open a credit card for you to help pay for these charges on your own time. Real weak, no I don't want a credit card from my local mechanic shop. 1 star = Nice customer service as long as you are nice to them. Come in on time, don't be rude and they will help you. Imagine that, a place gives good customer service if the customer isn't irate and rude. -1 star = They aren't very good at updating you on the status of your car. I had to call in to find out it was done, and was told there that they ordered the wrong part so that delayed stuff a little bit. The employees are slow and lack customer service. I brought my car for an alignment check. After they "aligned" my car, it was pulling to the left more than when I walked in. When I called to come back in and have it looked at, Eddie and Travis were NOT helpful. I was leaving to go out of town the next day and they couldn't give me an appointment but told me to drop it off in the morning. That morning, there was one person working out front, working as slow as molasses. After waiting in line for 30 minutes at 7:00, we had to leave to get my husband to work. I asked if I could just leave my keys and was told that I needed to wait my turn in line and everyone is in a hurry. I ended up going to the Apex store that morning. They could get me in immediately. read more
