Again, I trusted yelp with uncharted territory. My new car was hit and I called the dealer for a recommendation and both shops Renton Honda suggested had questionable reviews. Considering the entire transaction with Renton Honda was questionable, this was par for the course. I found several local shops with positive reviews, but unlike several shops that had less than 10 review, Michael's had a healthy amount of extremely positive reviews. I called the shop to get an idea of what to expect and I have to say, Mike wasn't very talkative. I was trying to ensure that I was getting more than a job that looks good, but is good. Mike told me to expect a great job that is guaranteed for life. When I considered this with pictures and reviews, I felt safe. Mike took photos for me to document all damage found (by request) and emailed me with updates, also by request. The repair itself took longer than I expected, but I suspect that was due to issue with the insurance company. The finished job looks good and Mike couldn't have been more professional throughout the process. Hopefully, I never have to return, but I wouldn't hesitate to use Michael's again and will be recommending him to people I know who are more concerned with quality than a more convenient location. read more

Thumb downs for this very shop. I came in last week because of good reviews from here. As I'm deaf, they were supposed to email me once they heard back from my insurance company for an approval. Never heard back for over a week, even after several days I got the confirmation message from my insurance. And not long ago, I returned to this shop to ask what's going on, and it turned out they're locking up. I knocked. Saw the guy in there. He'd not come to the door. Amazing customer service! Mike provided a repair estimate for a used car that I just purchased. I told him that I would have to wait until my budget allowed since I was paying out of pocket. He then emailed me and told me that he called a local junkyard and found the parts needed in a matching color! He explained how to swap the parts and even walked me through the replacement. Went here to get a quote for touch up job (had some misfitting chains during winter, scratched up around the wheels). Received a reasonable quote, and help with finding a cheap rental car. So far so good, but the reason for the 5 star review is that Michael really went above and beyond -- I was running car errands this day, and my next stop was to a service shop to get a headlight fixed/replaced. Michael took a look at that while I was getting the paint job quote and replaced it himself! I offered to pay, but he said it was no problem since he happened to have the right light lying around. Definitely saved me an extra trip and probably $100. I haven't had my paint job yet, but scheduling within the next couple days. I brought my Tesla Model S P85 to have Michael repair a major scratch on the bumper. The vehicle's color is a "Signature Red", which requires three coats of paint, each of a different color, to achieve the signature red color match. He did a perfect job. Mike and team replaced the two driver's-side doors on our 2016 Honda HR-V in January. I took it back in about a month later because we could hear a whistling sound on the driver's side door. Mike held onto the vehicle for a few more days and was absolutely meticulous about getting to the bottom of the road noise and getting it right for us. Missing one star due to them not able to put my aftermarket bumper on my Infiniti g35 other then that good work. I have gone to Mike two different times now and the service has been amazing. My insurance company really jerked me around the first time and he helped me get it all taken care of. He also fixed some other stuff he noticed that was broken that wasn't even related to the accident. The second time everything looked great but one of the parts he used went bad. He immediately ordered a new one and scheduled a time for me to come right back in. He also offered to paint a part on my Mustang that was starting to fade just so it looks nice again (again totally unrelated to the accident)! He is always honest, super personable, and his shop does great work. I took my BMW to Mike after a woman backed into the front grill with her trailer hitch. Mike was terrific to work with. He was very personable, honest, and most importantly, did fantastic work. Like another reviewer, if I could give Michael a 10 star rating i would. I needed a small paint job done on the passenger side mirror on my scion TC. I had taken the job to a couple of other Burien area paint shops and received quotes for what i thought were ridiculous amounts. Basically, i dont think they wanted the work. I drove into Michael's parking lot on a Monday morning. Michael came out, took a look at what I needed, quoted me $75 AND offered to take the mirror off the car and paint it so i wouldn't have to drop the vehicle off. He finished the job in a couple of days, did fantastic work, and reinstalled the mirror. I've found my collision repair and paint shop! I cant recommend Michael's Collision any higher! read more

A few months ago I scraped the side (near my back right tire) of my BMW on a parking lot pillar. doh! I finally got around to investigating a repair shop. Had my 2003 Chevy Silverado in the shop to have the back end of the truck completely repainted and to have them do the Rhino lining inside the truck bed. And WOW!!!! Michael's Collision Center the only auto body shop to go in the South Seattle area. After going to a large collision shop who were very rude, and quickly dismissed me, I went looking on yelp for a better option. Found Michael's and their reviews were exactly what I got. Honest and helpful. After taking a few photos he gave me not 1 but 2 quotes so I could choose from. I needed a new front bumper and he found a used option or after market one. The difference was only $200! I was so surprised they didn't jack up the price, since that was my last experience. Also surprised it was going going to take a day. Mike called and said there was some hang up on the paint color and could I pick it up later. After letting him know that this was my only car, he said they would stay later to ensure the paint was dry and I could pick it up! Talk about customer service! Once it was ready, I picked up my car, which looked brand new, and he also told me I had a brake light and replaced if for FREE! No one does that anymore!
