Great store with good stock - I am definitely a fan of their Order Pickup service, which is super helpful in making sure your items are in stock and available -- sometimes, website might show in stock but it's not on the sales floor and we all know (unfortunately) how difficult it can be to find an associate to do a stock check besides the poor cashier. That being said, the only downside is how busy this particular strip mall is and therefore it can be a bit difficult to find parking without stressing out for a minute. read more

Such a wonderful assortment mix of craft items and picture frames, I only wish I used Michaels more in the past. Came here around 20 minutes before closing and was thankful they hadn't closed or locked the door early. It's a perfect place to pick up a 24x36 poster frame and I make a beeline towards the back of the store where the frames are. I was already armed with a 40% discount for a single item from the Michaels app and yet these picture frames were 50% off the $32 price. Hey, never pay full price at Michaels! Does it seem strange that Michaels always has a sale? It's like those marketing gimmicks that intentionally bump the price off and then has a permanent "sale" so you as a customer can feel like you're getting a bargain. Anyhow I pick up the frame and head back to the counter. There's like only 1 person in line. The cashier somehow convinces me to sign up for their rewards program even though I already have the app and digital coupons. When complete, I'm out of the store before it closes. This review is for Valentine at the framing center. I had a canvas frame that I ordered from another company that had the hanging wire installed incorrectly. The online company was no help and this was a Christmas gift so I was running out of time. Went to make a return with a receipt and they refused to accept back because I did not have the original package. If I saved every package my home would look like a hoarders house. This is a new Michael's in Woodbury. It's next to the HomeGoods. It is painted gray, as opposed to all of the other Michael'ses which are painted cream. There are plenty of good sale deals going on around the store. It appears slightly smaller than the one at the District, but maybe it could just be due to perspective. I was in awe of the restrooms because they were brand new and very clean, and functioned well. (They're gender-separate, for reference.) No one I was shopping for needed anything. I'll have to come back when someone actually requests me to buy something. read more

I called in 3 mins to 7pm (their closing time) and told them I'd be there right at 7pm and that my daughter knew exactly what she wanted (a journal). They put me on hold and we arrived on time and they locked up right in front of us. Still on the phone with me the associate said the manager would not reopen while they saw us walk up to the door. I have never had a bad experience at Michaels as I am a frequent customer and this was my first time at this location. I've always been thankful for the close proximity to craft supplies and be able to pick up things before or after my Trader Joe's run. I was especially thankful for them this week when schools closed and I was in need of a cart full of arts and crafts projects. I've been back nearly every day this week stocking up on different projects as the expected extended spring break stretched longer and longer. They even looked through stock to make sure I had everything I needed. When two of my online orders were out of stock, the closing manager kindly applied the same sales offer against two similar products. He totally made my long exhausted day. This comment is strictly on the framing department. I'm new to the area, and it seems like so many Michaels in the area are absolute duds. Irvine was a little out of my way, but still not that bad of a drive. I came here for the good reviews, and got exactly what I was expecting .....and more. Nichole spent a good amount of time with me on getting some framing ideas on some of my posters I wanted framed. She was an absolute pro, and immediately had a few ideas on what to do. She helped me stay within my budget, and showed me some work that she recently did. I trust her 100% and will definitely be back for some more prints! Wow...I am speechless. I visit this Michaels' location on average once a week every week of the year. Spending hundreds of dollars on personal items and school arts & crafts since I am the room parent for my son's class year over year. I came in this evening with a bag of items I was considering returning or exchanging. As I picked up a few items and approached the register, the sales clerk asked immediately if I had walked in with the items I was returning! I was in such disbelief that I was just asked such a ridiculous question as I recognized the clerk from all my visits to her store. I'm pretty sure her theft doubts would've been resolved had she let me return the items after seeing proof of my receipt/rewards member history. Needless to say, as a frequent and loyal customer of this store, I am very offended that this is the manner in which the sales clerk handled the situation. Unbelievable. read more

The other day I went into Michaels not expecting much as I'm not a very crafty person and felt like I'd get a little lost. However, I was greeted very nicely by some wonderful employees by the name of Tyler and Brianna. They made me feel at home in that Michaels and I swear I will never go to another Michaels except this one again. Solely because of the employees that work here. Both of them made sure my needs were met, and showed me where everything I needed was and if I needed anything else to not hesitate to contact them whenever. They just made my day. This Michael's is fairly smaller than its surrounding ones, but that is what makes it so nice! its super easy to get in and out, and all the associates seem to know where everything is! The other reviews of this Michael's that aren't so positive seem to be ones regarding policy problems, like people have never worked retail before and aren't aware that the helpful associates are just doing what they have been taught to do. Having worked retail it can be hard getting the customers to understand that you have to do whats right in order to not get fired. I personally have never had an a issue here and neither have my circles of friends! Every time i come in either Alexandra or Courtney are so great and always go out of their way showing me new products so i can get my project done more efficiently. The store is always so clean and absolutely beautiful with all of their seasonal decor. They also have a great selection of fine are supplies, of which i shop frequently. I highly recommend this Michael's and all of the associates are so willing to have you leaving with a smile :) its always a joy to come here. read more

After having been sick (along with a knee injury) just prior to Christmas, I made the mistake of going there on the 23rd to try to get some gift wrapping supplies. I was hobbling along leaning heavily on my cart when I made the HUGE mistake of asking a clerk who appeared to be nice. I asked if they happened to still have any gift tags in stock. Get this - she LAUGHED at me and made a rude comment. Really? Is this customer service? The store was not as busy as one would expect just before Christmas. I will NEVER go back to this store! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Michaels! It's close to the house, walking distance, and near everyone's hangout spot. You could just walk to Trader Joe's, stop by at Micheals for some crafting tools, decorations, Valentine Cards , etc. And, on the way back home, settle for a Starbucks which is near Micheals, and get a Frappuccino. :) read more

Mostly one person, whose name I have of course forgotten, but every one I dealt with in the frame shop went to great lengths at one time or another during a couple months of heavy framing / lots of projects. This is the new store in the Woodbury Center. I went in to pay for my daughter's birthday party and I was told that the reservation could not be honored. They gave me a few reasons and to make a long story short I left home that night a bit frustrated. I decided to come up with a new plan in the morning. 1st thing in the morning I got a call from the manager named David. He was courteous and apologetic and professional and authentic and took the reins of the situation and said that he realized it was their human error and that he would take full ownership and honor my daughter's birthday even though it goes against their scheduling policy. I was so pleased with his professionalism and kindness and openness that I told him I would recommend this story to anybody who wanted to do birthday party at the craft store. I highly recommend this store because of my experience. And thank you David for making my life easier and honoring your word. :) read more
