Have been a few times mostly for HH and once for dinner. I like sitting at the bar with Brandy and the guys. The happy hour specials include drinks now and there are some nice martinis. I love the sirloin burger, firecracker shrimp, the crab cake on salad is very good. The calamari is just ok. The sauce is too heavy. I enjoyed my first experience here. I was very impressed with the renovations that they made on the interior. Very eclectic and inviting. We had a reservation at 8p on a Saturday and I was thrilled to see how packed that they were. Always nice to see a restaurant outside of the downtown beach towns that is doing well (and there are more and more of them now). I will first continue with the positives and say that overall, I was happy with MY food choices, which were the heirloom tomato salad (fresh and plentiful), a shared plate of calamari (big plate, lightly fried and came out piping hot with a buffalo type sauce on the top- quite good) and a pasta bowl with fresh ricotta, veal, lamb and sausage. HUGE portion (half of it went home with me) and quite tasty and full of wonderful flavors. One of my friends was not as thrilled with his chicken dish. He said that the chicken was bland and the salad that accompanied it was uninspired (I have to say, though, it LOOKED fantastic). The BIG negative for all of us was the service we received. The woman was amiable enough but she made all kinds of errors (for each course, including drinks, we were given the wrong orders, in two courses, the wrong order that belonged at another table! There were also long gaps of time where the server did not come back to our table. BUT, these seems to be freshman mistakes, and again, she was nice enough and apologized each time she made an error. We had no room for dessert when the time came but the choices looked enticing. Despite the service issues, I was happy with my meal overall enough to rate 4 stars and I would definitely head back. For those looking for a good restaurant that is not downtown (with easy parking and shorter waits) you should check this place out. read more

I went there for the first time since it opened in May, and glad I did. I just wanted a place to grab some appetizers and a couple drinks. Upon arrival I noticed the eclectic decor, and friendly greeting from the hostess. I opted to sit in the bar area instead of a table, glad I did. The bartender, forget his name, couldn't do enough for everyone at the bar. Although I ordered a couple of appetizers, however you could have made a meal out of them. I had the Poached Pair Salad. The food was served promptly and couldn't be better. Although this was my first trip there you can be rest assured it will not be my last. Firstly, they could not find our reservation, even though they called us at home to confirm. Second, happy hour is not too happy. You have to order at the bar, which is in a small room adjacent to the restaurant. Other people have the same idea, so it gets a bit push shove in there. The waiters trying to work the small space are constantly asking you to move etc, not the best way to relax and start an evening. Only domestic beers and a few drinks are happy hour prices, not the entire selection, which in my mind a mistake. The food was pretty good. I had the halibut special. It would have got top marks except the chef decided last second to drown it in broth. So the fish was swimming in rice and mushrooms. Very tasty however, just to much ocean. Our server was great. Did not miss a thing, told us she had only worked there a month. Overall, Michy's is typical of most restaurants. Not awful, they just fall short making fundamental errors and almost getting it right. read more

Found this great restaurant on Yelp. So glad we did. The food was outstanding! I had the special seared snapper with polenta cake and roasted vegetables. Incredible favors. Had the bread pudding special although I should have skipped it. Amazing. Warmed with white chocolate and ice cream! Would definitely come back when we are in Rehoboth again. Location in a strip mall may have negatively impacted our decision to stop here but luckily it did not. The atmosphere was casual and yet upscale. Really good food in a casual but very nice setting. One of the best values for quality dinner in Rehoboth. Don't be put off by location in a strip mall. Key lime pie was exceptional. Michy's is a wonderful surprise. It is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall but has incredible atmosphere when you open the front door. It is cute and beachy with an amazingly friendly staff. The food and drinks are wonderful. We always start with the clams because the broth is the best I have ever tasted. Another favorite appetizer is the calamari which is done with an Asian influence. All the fish dishes are done well with lots of layered flavors. I have a picky 12 year old who is always happy with the kids menu choices. This is a fantastic restaurant AND they take reservations. Main advantage: they're in a strip mall with parking.The food seems to have devolved from last year. Mediocre tomato/mozzarella salad. Smallest serving of salmon ever experienced--thrown together with a little rice and bok choy--absurd for $25. This place is amazing. I had the beef tenderloin, with a Hendrick's martini on the side. The beef was cooked perfectly, and was paired with a perfectly cooked au gratin potato on the side. All of it was amazing. We started off though with the firecracker shrimp. Unlike other places, there was just enough shrimp for an appetizer portion, and the sauce was great. The staff was very knowledgeable as well. Our waitress knew the specials, and could tell us how much she enjoyed every dish we ordered. All in all, a terrific dining experience. It's clear to see by the absence of feedback on every other bad review that the management of this place sorely lacks professionalism. As you can see, there are MANY reviews referring to a disrespectful 'owner/manager female' - each one describing how she conducts herself with aggression, malice and crudeness. We have been to this restaurant when we visited from out of town and had fairly good experiences. Since we have family members who live in Lewes and holidays are approaching, we decided that mailing them a gift card from Michy's would be a nice surprise. BIG mistake!! I called over the weekend in hopes of speaking with someone regarding the gift card and my phone call was returned. From the onset of the conversation, the woman on the phone was short and downright NASTY. We shared with her the purpose of our call and she made it clear that she couldn't be bothered. In trying to figure out how much we should make the gift card for, she couldn't have been less helpful. After enduring her abrasiveness for nearly ten minutes, I honestly couldn't take it anymore. I expressed my frustration with how rude she had been, and her solution was to hang up on me! What?!?! The food is so very good, I will eat here at every opportunity. Tonight we tried the Beef Tenderloin which was cooked to perfection served with incredible potatoes/cheese/garlic (yum) and a fabulous salmon dish with a spicy crumb topping which was beautiful to look at and had an incredible taste served with jasmine rice - mmmm. The service is very good at this restaurant all servers attend to all tables and act like they really want you to be a satisfied customer. If I had a complaint it would be the Strawberry Sangria - yuk, but I suspect that is just me and next time I will just order wine. read more

We cautiously went to this strangely named place last Friday night. And were very pleasantly surprised at the friendly atmosphere, and genuinely nice owners and waitress we had. Seated directly and food service was, 1,2,3. I had the scallops and my wife had the steak with mushrooms. and I must say, second to no one in the Area. Salad was a very large and sharable wedge, desert was Key lime and perfecto. We know have the hard decision whether this is our #1 Delaware "must go" every week, or one of the other fine restaurants. read more

We ordered the firecracker shrimp, without peanuts due to allergy, and was still excellent; tasty, perfectly spiced with good kick. Full bowl of clams with not enough bread to soak up the delicious broth. The sashimi tuna was delicious. Entrees included special salmon and menu salmon and flat iron steak. All were perfectly portioned, prepared and flavored. The service was attentive enough, although, we all felt like we were rushed through. We tried to delay ordering entrees, to no avail. The atmosphere is designed to be "relaxed" but we felt like they were trying too hard to service too many incoming guests. It's uncomfortable and you get to watch the bartender traipse back and forth from the kitchen to the bar, carrying buckets of ice and 6-packs of beer. For the price, I would have expected more. I also had the cheesy grits-delicious, grilled root veggies-filling and the lemon steamed artichoke-coulda been cooked just a touch longer. The desserts were worth the calories: pistachio gelato, bourbon bread pudding, hot lava cake and vanilla ice cream. Specialty drinks and super wines. I have been meaning to dine at Michy's for 2 years since I've heard good reviews but didn't give it much effort because it's in a strip mall and I imagined it different than what it was. WOW, this place knocked by socks off! First of all, get reservations because the dining room fills up and there aren't many cancelations. The service was nice, friendly and had a sense of humor. The food was AMAZING! Everyone loved their dishes but voted mine the best.. I ordered the Barramundi Bass. We are a very picky Key Lime Pie group... it was totally worthy. I can't say enough how nice the atmosphere was and nicely decorated. Best of all the prices are very reasonable and nice wine list. We did not feel like we were in a strip mall. We go to Michy's at least once a week because: The food is amazing, including the regular menu items like made from scratch soups, roasted golden and red beets, firecracker shrimp, barramundi bass, pan seared chicken Milanese and the shrimp and grits or specials such as the best pork chop I have ever had and perfectly cooked lobster tails. The staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. The parking is easy and free (even during the summer season) and the restaurant is decorated in a warm casual beachy theme-and there's a wall dedicated to Jerry Garcia. Chef Rich, Michel and Vivian greet us as if we are family. Bartender Brandy has our drinks ready as we are walking through the door. If we're in the mood for something different all we need to do is tell Brandy what flavor we're craving and she will create a drink. Michel and Brandy take the time to introduce people at the bar and this has led to some strong new relationships. We go to Michy's Relaxed Dining at least once a week and on our birthdays, our wedding anniversary and whenever we have a guest in town. read more
