After a dozen or so visits getting superb food with superior staff - Chef, Richard, Sous-Chef, Shawn, and Extremely fine Wait Staff Viviane, Hunter and their support team included, we have to rate 5 stars to Michy's. By the way Michy is almost always there overseeing that all is at peak for customers! Smart even off season to make reservations especially if after 5:30pm. I am an intense foodie about quality of seafood and red meats especially along with being a red wine connoisseur. So, I am difficult to please when any little thing is not right. I do realize that no person or place can be perfect. Michy's comes closest! Michy's is accommodating to special food needs and switches for accompaniments when requested. Being such a particular diner, I do insist on fresh, tasty, consistency as well as appetizing presentations and variety of food menus so that frequency always has something new and interesting to order. This is all very true of Michy's. How wonderful also that because they are in a shopping center just off Route 1/main highway in Rehoboth, DE, free parking is never an issue. I have been to the restaurant 4-5 times and until the last time the food was good. On my last visit I went with a burger, the server had to make sure they still had one available, they did so I ordered a medium rare burger. When it came to the table I noticed it had no juice or even pink to the burger meat, it almost looked steamed. Not being a person that would complain I didn't say anything to the server and proceeded with my dinner. After my second bite I realized I wasn't going to eat anymore cause it wasn't overlooked, it was rancid meat. The server came over and noticed I wasn't eating and asked if everything was ok because he noticed it looked over cooked. I told him it was over cooked but it was ok I just wasn't that hungry. After they cleared the plate the owner came out of the kitchen and almost confronted me about the burger and if I thought it was really over cooked because he was the one that cooked it. Not trying to make a scene I said yes it was but it was ok at which point he asked again and couldn't understand how I thought it was over cooked. I haven't returned but I heard from others they love it, I just wouldn't get the burger if I go back. read more

My friend and I went there last evening for our (early) Christmas celebration after going to a few outlet stores. Our waiter, Patrick, was the BEST--friendly, knowledgeable, attentive but not overbearing--he really added to our enjoyable experience (thank you for the side dish of Cheese Grits. ;-) We ordered the Filet and the Short Rib entrees along with a bottle of Malbec. The dishes were visually attractive, everything was well seasoned and delicious, and our meats were oh so tender! Even the bread and dipping "sauce" was a notch above what you'd expect. The place is truly relaxing and comfortable, not stuffy. Someone called Michy's unpretentious and that truly describes this gem. The prices are decent for the quality of the food you get (although wine by the glass is a bit steep). We'll definitely go back, and hopefully have Patrick as our waiter again. read more

When a friend told us to try out a new restaurant several years ago little did we know it would become not only our favorite restaurant in the area but also our number one recommendation for anyone visiting Rehoboth. We can honestly say the food and service run rings around any 5 star restaurant we have eaten in over the years. All the staff are extremely friendly, making you feel part of the family. The food is off the charts good and the ambience and warmth comes straight from the top. What an amazing dinner we had last night at Michys. We have been going to Michys for years and last night we had one of the best meals ever. All 4 of us had the halibut special and it is the best meal we have had in a long time, fish was cooked perfectly and served on a bed of orzo with peas, carrots and asparagus. Everything was so fresh and the flavors were amazing.
