Great music and good service from what I experienced. The Bartender Alex on the second floor was great! Provided great service and was very kind. I enjoyed that the second floor played a lot of Spanish music, great DJ and also played the music videos. First floor had English music, hip hop and EDM. Overall, great to go dancing. * This review is strictly about Ceaser Visited Micky's for the first time this past weekend and of course with the drinking and dancing I ended up losing my wallet. I came back here during a weekday and was greeted by Ceaser, the security guard at the door. He took the time to ask me thorough questions about the description of my wallet and what it contained. He went upstairs to look for it and thankfully they had it! He confirmed with me that everything was in there, and after I told him my ID was missing he even went the extra mile to go back upstairs and double check just to make sure he hadn't missed it. Ceaser is such a great addition to this establishment and made the nightmare of losing your wallet a little less scary. read more

Mickeys is the best gay bar to visit when you are in the mood for dancing, great music, cute bartenders and strong drinks. The weekends are packed so make sure you are in the mood to deal with a large crowd. Anthony is my favorite bartender, he has a great smile, serves up the drinks fast and he is always happy to see you. Johnny is my second fave. He always has his amazing in shape body to show off, shirt is usually off later at night, can we say yummm-eeeee. The Go Go boys. Ok they are always great. Wow, just read a review that her phone was lost (I don't know her), but so did mine, last Friday 9-4. And my friend's 8-29, and my other friend's, 8-22. Yes, every week. You might ask why we still went here after phone was lost the first time, 'cause it's the only bar open 'till 4 around the area (not sure if there are other places open) The thieves were very very fast. Me and my friends we're smoking on the smoking area, and we decided to go to the dance floor one last time before going home (my friend's favorite song started playing before we finished our cigarette) The song playing wasn't even done when I noticed my purse was open. While in the dance floor, I started digging in to my purse, and I panicked when I couldn't feel my phone. I ran to the restroom to check (there's a light there compared to the very dark dance floor) as my friend ran after me. I was right. My phone was gone! I asked my friend to cal my phone, and to our surprise, it's already turned off. All of this happened in less than 3 minutes. We were all surprised that every week, one by one of our group is losing our phone in this place. Drinks at this place are okay, bartenders and dancers are hot, songs are good, but I/we will NEVER ever return to this place. BE VERY CAREFUL when you go here. I was calling the management the day after (Saturday), even up to now (Tuesday) to inform them with what's happening to their establishment, but no one ever answer their calls. I left a voicemail to Adam (extension 10- I actually have memorized their contact number and extensions, as I called them a million times cause no ones answering) but never received a call back. I rarely give feedbacks here in Yelp, but I am so mad and angry at this place's security (even after reading all the Yelp reviews), I have to warn everyone about this. My Driver's License picture is just nasty. I think I should have it retaken. Every time I have to show my i.d, I feel the need to apologize for some crime I didn't mean to commit. And this happened again the other night, meeting some of my fellow mates at Mickeys in West Hollywood. I apologized to the nice doorman for my horrid photo felony, and he just chuckled and said his was worse. My friends and I hadn't seen the completed renovations since their reopening, and needed to satisfy our curiosity. The improvements they made, including the second floor, all seem pretty posh, right out of a Showtime television show, in fact. My companions and I stayed mostly towards the front, by a small bar with an absolutely gorgeous bartender. Their drink special were pretty good for a Thursday night. Including a vodka tonic (my drink of choice for the evening), I also tried one of the specials, which was a new take on a Tequila Sunrise, I believe. It was very, very good. Parking is always atrocious, so allow for extra time. The cover (for a Thursday) was inexpensive, as were the drinks, and the dance floor was a sea of writhing bodies fornicating with the music. Will most likely be back to gyrate to the impulse rhythms on another night of debauchery. read more

Not only do you have to pay an outrageous cover to watch a TV show (Rupaul's Drag Race, Mondays), but as soon as I walked in and asked an available bartender at an EMPTY bar for a couple of drinks, I was told with attitude "I'll let YOU know when I'm ready." So then the server told me he was READY, he refused to give me drinks because he didn't like that perhaps a lesbian was throwing the same kind of verbal exchange that he had started with a PAYING CUSTOMER. He thought that the word "serve" was offensive. I'm sorry SERVER, would it have fit YOUR needs better that I asked you if you're ready to "tend" to me? You seem to be in the wrong profession - service industry. Hmmm what word is that derived from? Oh yes. SERVE. I had to talk to the manager to ask for a refund on the $8 cover (for a bar, no music), although he couldn't give two shits about how paying customers were being treated by his disgraceful staff. This is a naughty naughty place, and I LOVE IT! I don't come here often, but when I do, usually I have a good time. The boys are friendly and I don't have to worry about being groped by nasty men.... even if I get groped, it's mostly because, "bitch, where did you get them shoes?!" The go-go dancers' are new addition after that fire they had a while ago. and oh my.... I have no idea they make speedos that shapes your junk like an elephant trunk! and I had a semi educational conversation with one of the boys over a 2 dollars tips, on how they maintain that... trunk... it's.... interesting.... but I guess if women have to stuff our bras, its' about time men do something to enhance their junk. There's also a new upstairs area now, they covered up their high ceiling and make room for more people. And guess what kind of music they play here?? GAY TECHNO!!!!! (okay, actually there are no other kind of techno...) I love it!! I like this place, I always have a blast here. But as far as the facility goes, it's dirty, it's sticky, and it's expensive! You have to pay a fee to get in and then after that the drinks are well over 10 dollars to get it in a plastic glass. People sweat like crazy here too, so if you're gemaphobic, shouldn't come to places like this. I used to love coming here, until Friday night. I set my cell phone down when washing my hands in the bathroom, turned around to talk to my friend for a second and phone was gone. I tried calling it and it was already turned off. I had full battery, so it's not like my phone died. I got the club manager and bouncer involved, but they were extremely rude and did nothing to help. After reading other reviews, sounds like this happens often here and it could be an inside job. You'd think with all the theft here, that the company would do more to tighten security. I also noticed that several of the go go dancers were flashing there packages off and that's been the cause to why they place gets shut down so often. Is there a prostitution ring being run out of this place too?? Seems like a lot of criminal activities are being run out of the place - so BE CAREFUL when visiting this place! I'm all for a good time, and Mondays are drag show/RuPaul nights at Micky's. You make reservations for the TV show viewing and the drag show separately, just in case you are only interested in the televised event or the live one. Totally cool. My friends come here often to do both, so when we made reservations for both events, I was stoked. I never come out to watch TV with big groups, but who doesn't love hearing everyone laugh and boo and gasp and ooooooh at the same time. It's like we are all in the same high school clique. Anyway, the night starts off fine. We arrive about an hour early, so we are near the front of the line. We are on the reservations list, so we get seats for the viewing of RuPaul's Drag Race; it gets pretty busy, and it looks like a lot of people are going to stay on for Show Girls (the live drag show). Weirdly enough, the bouncers and the host ask everyone to clear out so that they can "tidy up" the area and then re-seat everyone. Here is where the poor planning came in. While the security guards are rudely trying to "push back" the crowd (and there really is nowhere to go unless you want me to crawl over the bar and hang next to Jack, Jose, and Captain Morgan), people are sneaking into the seating area near the restrooms. We're getting anxious and just want to make sure we get seats. The bouncer keeps yelling at us to get back, but lets a group of drunk girls grind on the stage and then promptly take the first row seating. Already I'm upset. I see the host start to go over the reservations, but we have been shoved back so much that I'm afraid he won't get to us. We try to come up to the host to get our seats, but again, are rudely told to "get back." The seating is getting really full and we keep getting shuffled back as people surge forward and claim seats without waiting. Nobody says anything to them, but apparently me trying to get my rightful place on the reserved guest list is a problem. We got so fed up with being pushed around and yelled at that we left. I didn't buy a single drink. I didn't tip a single queen. And I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I still want to come to Micky's for another drag night. I just wish you guys would get your shit together and figure out how to serve those who made reservations FIRST. And doing so without attitude would be pretty nice, too. read more

I'm very upset, not sure who the bartender was, but today, Tuesday December 1st, around 8:00pm we walked in to get a drink, and when I asked what the special was, the bartender kept on saying "what?!", he did it three times until I stayed quiet and he responded with "I'm just kidding," I just walked away, my boyfriend stayed at the bar because he really wanted a drink, he was all serious because of what the bartender did to me, so when the bartender asked what was wrong, my boyfriend said you were being a dick, to which he replied "I can't have a little fun?" My boyfriend then told him "he simply asked what was on the happy hour menu and you kept giving him the run around". Story time! So this was my last stop of the night after bar hopping all over Hollywood to celebrate my birthday weekend. After all the bars were closing my friends and I decided to come to Micky's because well it's the only place I know that's open past 2. You know (if you watch) how the show How I Met Your Mother says that nothing good happens after 2am. They might be right.... Why? Well the go-go dancer I saw at The Abbey a few weeks back was working here the night I came. He was definitely some nice eye candy--until his shift ended. After his table dancing session was done he stepped down and it killed everything! He was way shorter than I imagined, dressed way worse than any go go dancer should, and made the moves on me even though he said he had a girlfriend. Horrible! Enough about the go go dancer. The next eh part about Micky's is the cover! 10 bucks!? I probably won't come back unless they stop charging & the only reason I came in this night was because my friend offered to pay. But I will say that it was nice having some past 2am dancing time available! Not many clubs play a good mix of girl power music (kelly clarkson & britney mostly) so it was nice having that! Also, it was a nice surprise when guys didn't ask me to dance rather grabbed me and started grinding with me. I really thought that being a straight female would be a disadvantage at a gay club but I was definitely proved wrong. Oh and the best part, my lady friend met her soulmate-except that he said he was strictly gay but loved women's vagina's. How does that work? Final statement: I had fun dancing x-rated with some boys that claimed to be gay, and learning from my friend's gay soulmate that loves women's vagina's/ fortune teller that I will find the man of my dreams when i'm 27 & learning why straight men are idiots. read more

I'm not a gay male, but I am a pansexual female who absolutely loves to dance. If you're anything like me, then hopefully this review will save you from being overcharged to enter a bad club and be met with completely awful service. The first problem of the night occurred when I tried to pay the cover with a card and it didn't go through. Instead of asking to try another card or asking if I had cash, the guy told me to get out of line -- just get out, even though there wasn't anyone behind me. I tried to then let my friends know that I would be inside in just a moment, when another bouncer told me very firmly I couldn't loiter in the lobby and to go outside. So, after rudely being rushed out of the club for no reason, my girlfriend & best friend (the birthday boy) went through the line and got us in. As she was designated driver for the night we went to the bar to ask for water...we were told by a bitchy male bartender that we could buy some overpriced water but that no, their establishment didn't just give out free water...Pretty sure that California has a state law requiring establishments to provide tap water, free of charge to patrons? Had he given us the water, we would have gladly tipped him -- as former baristas, we both understand that tipping is important. The whole club is overpowered with both the smoke coming in from the patio, as well as all of the fog machines. My girlfriend has asthma and the rest of our party was upset after receiving similar treatment from staff members...we stayed maybe 15 minutes and then decided to take our patronage elsewhere. We didn't try to get our money back because we figured it would have been utterly futile thanks to how "helpful" their staff was being that night. Go-go dancers have never quite turned me as perhaps someone studying really intensely or doing calculus. To each their own and I guess this is why I don't go to gay clubs often. But that's not the reason for 4 stars. I just don't really love the music here. I came here on a Thursday night which my friend tells me is Latin night but it just seem schizo between pop and Latin music. I didn't buy my drinks so I can't tell you about the price. Water was bought for me so I can't tell you if the drinks are watered down. I can say parking is always terrible in West Hollywood though. Expect to pay $5-7 for parking lots and $10 for parking structures on average. Still, there's fun to be had here. read more

I used to go here alot in the late '90s either on a Sunday with my friend twice a month or, at night to dance. [Then] I always had a nice time, met cool people and worked off a lot of calories too. So, I went a few weeks back when I had (and I mean I didn't want to go near WE-HO) to meet a friend from back east whom I hadn't seen in 4 years who was on layover for a few days. Since he wouldn't take no for an answer I obliged out of friendship not out of the desire to go to this interesting piece of Gay Americana that is The Abbey's twin and just as pretentious. Attitude from the staff, especially the bartenders but, that all stopped when the bartenders remembered me as a fellow bartender from down here in Long Beach from coming in on Sundays about a year ago. Since this was at night I knew it would be crowded and dancing would definitely not be in the cards for me because of the crowded dance floor and, I parked at the valet around the corner to save the aggravation of parking in a non permit area. Also, my friend is not into dancing so that made things a little easier. Add to that, a few comped drinks from Eddie and things were pretty much okay. When this place burned down a few years back due to an air conditioning malfunction they should have let it stay a vacant lot for a year, saged it and then built another eatery along this posing part of WE-HO. Just not my scene as is all of the WE-HO scene in general. I'd go up again but not here to meet my out of town friends, I'd rather go to The Gold Coast than come into this neck of the woods again. read more

Oh Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind! Hey Micky! I came here for Monday's Rupaul Drag Race party (obviously) and it just happened to be Raven's (season 2) birthday party! Apparently she usually hosts the night, but since it was her birthday she got to party as a guest and perform, she was awesome! There were lots of special guests to perform for her, and balloons and they even had a cake and a singsong. I gotta say, as someone from another country where the drag shows don't get as much love as they should, I was super impressed with how many attendees tipped the performers, cheered on their favourites and were just fucking awesome. It really made the night so much more fun for an out-of-towner like me. I even snuck up on stage when Raven called up all the other birthday people, sure my birthday is in 11 days, but for me that's close enough! I got to do a shot onstage with the other birthday people and it was so much fun! They showed Rupaul's Drag Race (season 4) live at Micky's before the drag show got started, it was the episode where Latrice Royale got asked to sashay away. They were having "testical difficulties" however because the sound was not quite synced up with the show. Latrice Royale ended up performing that night and she got so much love from everyone in the room for being cast off that is was truly a heartwarming experience. I also got to see Morgan McMichaels (season 2) and Raja!!!!! OMG!!! (season 3). I made sure to tip the ladies whenever they came close, cuz I don't know anybody who can do hair, makeup, and make an outfit out of scraps look that fabulous. All of this for $5 measley dollars at the door, I was surprised it was that cheap! The staff were super nice too, I had a mojito, blueberry martini and recomended by the server a wildberry martini, you know, cuz I'm so wild and all! I wished that I lived in L.A. if only so I could go to this event every week. I wanted to stay after the show as well, but we had an hour drive out to Disneyland in the morning so I had to be up at the ass-crack of dawn to cake on my own hair and makeup. I come to Micky's often and decided to celebrate my birthday there. I ordered two Tito's Sodas (the same drink I've been ordering for years). I paid, tipped, walked off with my drinks and then realized they were Tequila Sodas, not Tito's. Easy mistake as the bar was loud. I immediately went back to the bartender and kindly told him I think he misheard me (this has happened once before in a bar in Austin and the bartender quickly replaced the drinks). Not at Micky's. The bartender loudly, in front of other patrons, said "I've been bartending 12 years and I've NEVER made a mistake - if that's a tequila soda you SAID tequila soda" and LITERALLY made a shooing motion with his hand. I was absolutely floored. I tried explaining to him again that no, I would never order a tequila soda. I never have in my life. And he completely ignored me. So I ended up leaving two full, paid for drinks on the bar, and went into the corner and cried because I was so shocked and embarrassed. Happy birthday to me. *EDIT* Just read all the other reviews - it seems this bartender has done this more than once. I like this place for its atmosphere and layout but that's about it. It is also male-oriented. Every once in while they hold an event that's worth going to. They play good music and it gets pretty packed. The other night I went here and I actually witnessed a shower set up on a platform with a naked male dancer getting his nuts fondled by a random guy! I couldn't freaking believe it. It was a turn off so I probably won't be back until I can get that image out of my head. read more
