I've been a loyal GYMBar regular for years, a place I called my haunt. But today, the mask slipped. I saw a woman in a wheelchair turned away--no compassion, no bathroom, because she couldn't pay. That set the tone. At 12:30, I entered, expecting my usual. Instead, three managers confronted me. They refused to explain why I wasn't welcome. When pressed, they threw out a California law excuse and then told me, verbatim, "We don't give a shit--get the fuck out." In front of everyone. I was humiliated. After years of being a patron, I was tossed aside without dignity. GYMBar's energy has gone from welcoming to cruel. The fact that a very sweet woman in a wheelchair, about the age of 82, with one leg and class, wearing a beautiful dress, beautiful hair, and a smile, had no money to use the facilities in an urgent situation, and she was not only kicked out--the door was not held for her as I walked in. I had to hold the door so it didn't slam on her wheelchair, because the waitress didn't care. She just opened the door and pushed her out, essentially. I'm not being dramatic. I'm being true. That, to me, is one of the saddest situations I could ever see. And the people that run that place not only don't have compassion--they don't have humanity. And that's all I can say. read more

You'd think with a name like Gym Sportsbar that Jamie W. and I would pooh-pooh such a jock-centric place. Well, we were three bars into our night of debauchery in WeHo, and we didn't think we had enough energy for the gigantic margaritas at Fiesta Cantina. We sauntered a bit more on Santa Monica Blvd. OK, 'staggered' might be the more appropriate term. Anyway, we noticed this bar was relatively empty compared to the other bars. Not sure why, but to our cumulative delight, they had three slushie machines in operation with three alluring flavors - Cherry Cosmo, Frozen Margarita, and our inevitable go-to Pina Colada. Half the screens were showing an NBA game, and the other half "Girls Trip". Jamie and I were frankly too busy staring at the meat parade passing by. Some were quite well marbled. This place has a very friendly vibe where people are always running into friends. The music inside is loud but on the patio it's loud enough to be fun while still being able to have a conversation. The bathrooms are super clean and well-decorated. The food is solid, basic pub food. The biggest drawback is they don't enforce the no smoking on the patio rule. read more

Gym Bar is 100% a Sportsbar with my kind of Happy Hour and Happy Hour specials including a buy one get one deal. You'll get a Gym Sportsbar poker chip for your second beverage you can redeem after the first before 8PM. If you're unable to make their H.H.... don't fret they have great deals/specials all week and weekend long... Not to mention drag shows, karaoke nights (like Monday's with Ben and Jen) and game days frequently! The space is pretty intimate, so if you're unable to find a seat, you'll definitely find a new friend to stand by who might even kindly offer their seat. Darts and Beer Bong set up, inquiry within. Make sure you have your ID ready at the door with security, super cool (and easy on the eyes). All the bartenders are lovely and ones along with the bar itself I'd come back to support. They have locations in New York and Fort Lauderdale I'd be curious to checkout. The vibe here is amazing! I went for a watch event and it was amazing! The staff is amazing! Food and drinks are above amazing.

If you're a sports fan this is the bar for you. Plenty of TVs to watch multiple games and I felt like they had every sport on that day. We ordered our food at the bar and then it was brought to our table. I would definitely go back for that burger and the tator tots were so good. Went to have drinks with family yesterday Monday 11/4/24 we walked into this bar and got Nothing but an attitude by the woman bartending while she talked crap about myself and the two people I was with to her rude friends. I can not believe how rude she was. We were very nice And just wanted a bite to eat with drink. I don't live far from this location but will Never take my family, friends or anyone I know to This bar. I hope she is removed from her position and finds a job in a warehouse where no one can see her so she doesn't have a chance to give bad customer service. Tried this place on a whim as I was walking by. Love their menu! I got the old bay and lemon pepper wings. They even offer all flats, but I forgot to order that until the end. They're truffle Parmesan. Fries are interesting. They are thick cut with more of a powder consistency oppose to grated Parmesan, but this is a bar not a restaurant so I get it. Flavor was there and they have lots of sauces (ranch and hot sauce). The veggies on the side that they came with was delicious and reminded me of Wingstop. I really enjoyed it. Oh yeah did I forget to mention that two of my friends got their personal belongings stolen? One had her phone stolen from her purse and the one had her whole wallet stolen. Having just visited the gym sports bar outside of Ft Lauderdale I really needed to try the Gym in West Hollywood. If only you could drink beers and earn exercise credits. The Gym Bar is chill and a good place to hang out with the gurls for a beer or two. There is an outside and inside area so you can enjoy both.
