When you drive a "luxury" car you often times get inflated prices. That is to be expected however to be so obvious about it was very disappointing. Woman before me water pump needed to be replaced he quoted $1550 about then by the time she agreed to it was only pay $1100 after a series of discounts he just handed her and the price of the part was $400 So my quote also for water pump right after was $400 for part too but then my total was $1700 plus the $200 in diagnostic fee. So my part was the same her car was not an older car that wasn't all computerized but just because mine is bmw he charged me for essentially 6 hours and her 3 hours. And then I called bmw to see how many hours in labor it is maybe I'm just super unaware nope bmw charges 3 hours. So long story short don't take your car here if you drive a bmw or luxury just go somewhere they won't slip in more hours just for fun's. read more

I took our Chevy Malibu into Midas to have the entire brake system redone, including replacing the drums and related components. After getting the car back, the brakes quickly started feeling unsafe -- the pedal would go almost all the way to the floor, the brakes no longer felt tight, and we later discovered the emergency brake had never even been reconnected. When I called and brought the vehicle back in, the representative informed me that the employee who originally worked on the car was no longer employed there because of issues like this. That immediately raised a major concern for me: if the company knew this employee had performed unsafe or poor-quality work, why weren't customers proactively contacted and asked to bring their vehicles back in for inspection before a potentially dangerous situation occurred? To make matters worse, when I asked whether I was going to be charged to correct THEIR mistake, the employee had to "check with the manager." There should have never been any question about that. If the issue was caused by improper work performed at your shop, it should have been made immediately clear that the repair would be corrected at no cost to the customer. Brake work is a safety issue, not a cosmetic inconvenience. I appreciate the representative being honest with me, but the handling of the situation and the lack of accountability from the beginning was extremely disappointing. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I had my vehicle towed here and they performed an initial assessment. Did not have the right equipment to do it. Did work that did not need to be done. Communication is terrible, don't return calls, keep you updated. Steve blames the younger staff, no clear lines of communication of what is going on. Told not to do work and still do it. Called me back and tried to lower the price to convince me to do it. They do not know the first thing about customer service. They do not get authorizations to do work. Promise to have things done and then don't call when it can't happen. Went into the shop to remove personal things from my car and windows are down and smelled like smoke since all the mechanics smoke in the shop. They have no vm system so you can't leave a message when they don't answer the phone and no recording of their hours so you never know if they are open when you call and they don't answer. When you make an appointment for a routine service such as an oil change, one should not expect it to take over 90 minutes. While Kevin at the front desk was nice and cordial at first, after the first hour when I asked for status, it went downhill from there. I should have realized when the technician sauntered at what could certainly be considered a snail's pace to take my vehicle to the bay that we may have an issue. This guy was working like the job on my vehicle was an hourly rate, not flat rate. That tech needs to find a different profession. And if a customer complains about time it is taking, offer more than benign lip service. We cancelled our other vehicle appointment and will take it elsewhere. This location us crap. read more

Front desk guy lies and tells you what you want to hear to get you in and I honestly wouldn't doubt if none of the services they say they are providing are done. Second time in and I'm not surprised. Whoever runs this place should consider who is representing there business. They say they do oil brakes headlights and "full service" but they'll say they will perform whatever you ask, but then when you come and pick up your vehicle they'll have only changed your oil and make up lame excuses as to why they couldn't do anything else. Like what's the excuse for no tire rotation? No brake check? No alignment? No inspection? No reciept as to what work was performed and why other items weren't. I think the people here are lazy and do not take pride in there work. I mean if you can't perform the work and don't have the parts to do so why not just say that. We've taken our vehicles here for maintenance and have always been respectfully treated. Written estimates are prompt and clear. The wait time is reasonable and they are efficient. I appreciate a business that respects that my time is valuable. They've never done a multipoint inspection though as a part of their oil change service which would be helpful. We do use the dealership as our primary location for milestone services but this is a convenient repair shop for an in and out oil change and other basic services. read more

Came in here for an inspection on my ignition control module, because my car was randomly shutting off, and sometimes wouldn't start. Was recommended an oil change/ignition control distributor/ignition control module to get replaced. The total of JUST the ignition control module was $446, and when factoring in all of the items in my list of recommended fixes, came out to almost $1,000. Went to a competitor, and got a quote of $227, half the price for ALL of the items to be done. Happily will never step foot in this Midas location again. read more

It is disappointing to be in a situation where I feel compelled to leave such a negative review, but I wanted to ensure that other potential customers don't have to go through the same experience I have. We have been a loyal Midas customer since moving to Bonney Lake several years ago, and have spent thousands of dollars to have our vehicle maintained over those years. At first, Lynn was a terrific manager that always kept us updated, ensured our car was serviced properly, and it was a joy to do business with Midas, of which we recommended to our friends in the area. Once she left, things became inconsistent, but we stuck with them knowing that they had been solid in the past. This past service experience has been a disaster. We brought our car in for a very small oil leak, and ended up being told we needed to replace power steering line and some seal for the oil. They had the car for over a week, but finally got it completed for a cost of around $1,600. Within a week, the check engine light came on, and we also noticed the oil was still dripping on our driveway, now much heavier. It again took a week for them to figure out what was causing the check engine light, and then they told me it was the coils that was causing the light to come on. We had them repair those for over $600, and they assured me the oil leak was also fixed. We decided to wait on a pump they said was wearing out, which would be another $800. Within days, the check engine light came on again, and there was a puddle of oil, worse than even under the car. Brought it in, and they said it was the line into the turbo that needed replaced that was causing the oil (remember this was the original request) and they said the pump is causing the check engine light. I was told that for $1,800 both the line and pump could be repaired and we would be all fixed. We went from a few drops of oil on the driveway October 1 and here we are November 15th over $2,200 later being told we need another $1,800 repair to fix the original problem from 6 weeks ago. That would be over $4,000 all in. Needless to say we had zero confidence that the $1,800 would be the final fix, as we have now been told that each time. When I asked Randy the owner to show good faith and credit some labor back or anything to show that as a customer we are cared about after being loyal for years, the response was we don't see anything that we did wrong. Sorry, no credit, nothing we can do. For the past six weeks, Midas has had my car for 3 of those weeks, it POURS out oil now after we have spent well over $2,000, but they haven't done anything wrong? Um, ok we'll certainly not be using ANY Midas or affiliate ever again. It it also worth mentioning that I usually had to call for updates, otherwise it was very rarely that I would hear anything from Midas as to what the status of my car was. Thanks for having me sink money into a car that I now have to go try to trade in and buy a new one. Great customer service. If I treated my customers like this, I'd be looking for a job. My advice to potential clients, look elsewhere. read more

I scheduled an appointment to get an oil change, tire rotation and my brakes checked. The day if my appointment I went in 15 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment. The man at the desk just looked at me when I walked in. No "Hi", "Hello" or anything. I told him my name and that I had an appointment. He then informed me that he had a guy call in sick and he wouldn't be able to get to my car for at least an hour. He told me I would have to reschedule. I asked him why I wasn't called and told this before I got in to the store so I wouldn't have had to leave work early. Again, he just looked at me to tell me that I would have to reschedule. Needless to say, I left without scheduling. I tried calling back again and got Lindsey on the phone. I asked her if I would be able to drop my car off to get work done and I could pick it up by close tomorrow. She cut me off and told me there was no way she could guarantee I would get it done by then because there were others with appointments and then chuckled. I was a loyal customer to Midas before this week. Lynne was always great to deal with. After these experiences, I will not be going back. read more

I came in for a diagnosis on my car, I was leaking some pretty major oil underneath the oil filter. Took it in and set a appointment up for the next day at 0800. Due to me working graveyard I would come at 0700 and wait till they opened, I was always the first one there. 1st appointment comes up and I drop the car off. I missed there initial phone call and called back later that evening where Dennis told me it was a gasket above the oil filter. So he ordered the kit which was gonna be here the following day. I picked the car up that night and dropped it off the following morning. I call in at 430 and Dennis tells me he was really busy, didnt fix it but I could come pick it up, Id be the first one in the morning. Picked my car up, and we repeat this again. This time the part was replaced. As I left there place and went back home, I noticed a puddle of oil. I took it back and we both decided to schedule it for Monday as the weekends were really busy for him. Monday comes along and I drop the car off with them again at 0800. I called at 430 again and the Dennis says "oh the alignment?" I was extremely agitated at this moment as Ive been really patient and polite. Dennis told me was busy again and didnt get a chance to look at it. I asked how many times am I gonna set a appointment up, have to call to get rides back and forth here and I'm going through roughly a gallon of oil a week. how long before I get the car fixed that I already payed to. I told them I would be leaving the car overnight and would expect an answer the following day. I was okay with the work that was done this time. Still had a minor oil leak that was a different problem what I was told. My grandfather drove my car home and I was able to drive it the following day where I heard this unusual sound. So tired of missing appointments, I went to another mechanic. These guys at Midas, revved my car to such extreme measures, I now have a bad lifters and am having to pay more for there lack of care and respectful of there clients. I wish after the 2nd time they told me they were busy I would have taken it to somewhere else, because now I'm paying to fix my original problem and to undo/fix there work. I called for appointment to get a belt tightened and to have a check on a leak in the intake side of the motor. $65.00 was a estimate on the work to be done. I left my truck in their hands at or before 8AM on the 12th. I called the store early afternoon and they gave me an update, stating that i needed a few parts they would have to order out of California and that they needed the truck for a extra day to do the repair {Monday}. I tell them I would have to wait until the following week to do such a repair. Needing the truck for work Monday morning. They stated at that time the they hadn't done anything to the truck that wouldn't keep it from running and it was ready to go. At 3:20 pm I get a call from the Midas shop asking if there was a cut off switch they needed to know about because they couldn't get the truck to start. I told them no. Telling them I would be there around 4pm. They were scrambling around trying to figure what was up with this truck. Kevin the store manager invited me into the shop to try to start my truck, click click. Their ASE certified mechanic told me to try it again while he was under the hood touching wires around my starter solenoid and arched a wire that threw sparks over the hood. "opp's that was the wrong contact" he stated. Kevin afterwards says you should replace the starter sign here $405 after taxes and labor. Wait what? I sign...they replace the starter around 5:30 pm and tell me they are having problems and at no charge they will replace the starter solenoid to get me up and running. OK fine! Still problems the lights won't turn on and they are having electrical issues. I go outside to wait to while they replace the starter. I hear my truck running and go back inside the shop with a joy of relief, the lights are on and the wipers are going. YAY! Wrong, they had to bypass the electrical system to get it to run and the lights, wipers only worked while they had it started and running. Long story short they had it Monday and Tuesday to find a short behind the dash they blew out. ASE CERTIFIED MY ASS. I paid $435.00 for the started solenoid to be replace along with the starter and lost 4 days without my truck. I'm Pissed! read more

Midas replaced my front brakes, calipers, rotors, and pads. I received the lifetime warranty. The rhythmic sound that I attributed to a warped rotor got quieter, but did not disappear. Just under 5000 miles later the front wheel came off as I was on my way to Southern Oregon. I would think that a good mechanic would have noted play in that bearing at the time the brakes and rotors were replaced. Bearings don't fail suddenly. I went back to the Bonney Lake location today to ask what they might do. I did not expect a refund, but I certainly did not expect a "sorry, we are under new ownership and we can't do anything about it". I won't be going back to Midas. read more

I asked about the synthetic blend I put in my car last time and she said I was wrong that they don't make 0w20 in blend. Then I asked again about a wait time, and with an attitude said she was already 4 days out. Let's just say I'm at a competitor down the street having 0w20 synthetic blend put in my car. read more

I can change my own oil, replace belts, headlights, etc., but I'll readily admit my knowledge is very limited when it comes to auto mechanics. So you can understand my apprehension when taking my vehicle into the shop. I just assume I'm going to get screwed, especially after my description of problems usually involves a lot of guessing, a range of imitated noises, and a small amount of charades. My boyfriend and I have taken a couple of our vehicles to this Midas location and were blown away each time, not just by their level of knowledge, but how ridiculously friendly they were with a genuine concern for our predicament. That being said, I have NO IDEA what prompted us to take our van into a competitor when it began riding rough and the brakes started to squeak. This shop, informed me my rear shocks were original to my vehicle and needed to be replaced, and that due to a cracked brake shoe, the shoes, drums, and wheel cylinders would all need replacing. Grand total: $1,190. This wasn't sitting right. So we decided to take it to Midas. There, they looked over their competitor's evaluation and estimate, then took a look at the vehicle for themselves. Not only did they have a difference of opinion, but they brought me out to the shop and SHOWED ME what they saw. The shocks that were 'original' to my 2001 vehicle had a manufacturer's sticker stating they were made in 2007. Hmm. Then they showed me how one brake shoe was indeed cracked, but they'd tested all other components and concluded the shoes were the only thing needing to be replaced. We will never take our cars anywhere else. The kick ass crew at the Bonney Lake Midas saved us about $800 of unnecessary work today and continues to give me the peace of mind that I have honest mechanics to take our vehicles to that will not take advantage of us!!! Also, this was our fourth trip to their shop and each time I've had my 5 yr old son with me. They were always super nice to him and have toys, coloring books, AND video games to keep him entertained. I took my truck in to get the AC checked out because the compressor clutch would not engage. I did run a jumper from the battery to the compressor and clutch engaged, I also explained this to the mechanic and all he said was might have fried it. He is not a people person..... I was later called and told there are electrical alterations to the truck so he wasn't willing to work on it past what he had done. He did check high and low pressure and found a bad ground at compressor. I think the alterations were the canopy lights I wired up or the tachometer I put in. When I got there Lynn the front desk lady said well at least you have a starting point and suggested a Puyallup business that does electrical diagnostics. When I asked what I owed she said nothing.... I was hoping to get my AC fixed but, happy I didn't get the usual shop run around where they just replace parts or try convincing you the part that isn't working is the most expensive possible part, thank you for your honesty Bonney Lake Midas! read more
