I came in the time of the rodeo last year about an hour or two before closing. It was a break inspection and they were in a hurry to close. Customer service was fine. When I was driving on the way home my tire was wobbling off and the bolts were in the middle of the highway and I almost crashed. I do not recommend. I called them after and told them what happened and they offered a free oil change which I didn't need thought that was odd. I didn't go back there and went somewhere else. Went in for a free brake check being that it's close to my house. My front brakes needed to be resurfaced but they told me that my front and back routers needed to be replaced new. They tried to charge me over $1,000. Went to another shop and they told me that I only needed to resurface my front routers but my back brakes were fine. I only paid 1/3 of the price Midas was trying to charge me. I have nothing but distrust for them. Thankfully I have some learned experience from my parents having to replace the brakes from their cars. They will bleed you dry of money. I'm glad I called around to to compare prices instead of just paying what they told me. read more

They only service full synthetic oil and that's it but yet they still sent me a coupon I've been going there for years and there was no explanation. No nothing Not happy. MIDAS CLOVIS CALIFORNIA So, November 22, 2023, I dropped off the car to have Midas check the front rotors/brakes. The brakes were done earlier that year, at this location. We (wife & I) walked to get breakfast a block away and since it was my birthday we wanted to eat early as we had plans. I did not get a phone call after 90 minutes of waiting so we waited a bit more and shopped after breakfast. It was now 2.5 hours since drop off and we decided to walk back to the facility to see what was going on. The car was in the same spot as when I left it. Inside was a non-polite individual who seemed to be running the show there and rudely told me we havent got to it yet- this as I see another worker just standing around outside and talking to another employee sitting in the garage area. Needless to say, They WASTED nearly 3 hours of my day and I could have dismantled each and every one of them like the HULK seeing red- My car to this date STILL needs to be looked at as Im afraid the idiots at this location SEVERELY do not know what the hell they are doing, let alone their SEVERE lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE- In a letter I took time to write, I received this response from a "Sherwin Hojjati" Midas Corporate: Good morning Darren, We apologize for the inconvenience that occurred in November, and that the Clovis location is temporarily closed. Horrific experience! Did not properly tighten the lug nuts on one of the wheels after their brake inspection. Put my family at risk in a traumatic life threatening experience when the lug nuts and wheel fell off on the highway! Lost control of the vehicle and went over the double yellow lines when the wheel fell off. My family is lucky to be alive. We are still traumatized and extremely upset. We have warned all of our family and friends not to go to this Midas location because their life may depend on it. Negligent workers who were in a hurry and were just joking around the whole time, and stated they were in a hurry to get to the Clovis rodeo. Will never ever return to any Midas location ever again. I made an appointment after hours when I went in for my appointment the man who greeted me asked me my name and stated my appointment was for 1:00 when in fact when I made the appointment it was between 1-3. I told him the appointment was between 1-3. He then went on to say they confirmed with a phone call, I told him I never received a phone call. He corrected himself (not correct at all) saying they send a confirmation email. I never received a confirmation email, being that they were closed this store never sent me a confirmation email for my appointment. He said he could fit me in after 2 hours when there was only 2 cars in the five bay shop. He blatantly lied to me to my face. Very unprofessional. Absolutely disappointed at the level of dishonesty from this location and the employees who worked on my vehicle. I brought both vehicles here for an oil change. The young man over the counter advised me everything will be taken care of in one hour. I was ok with it even though he quoted me 30 min over the phone. They were going to rotate my tires, check all fluids and of course change my oil and oil filter with full Synthetic oil. So I went across the street to visit the book store to pass some time. After returning back both my wife and my car was ready to go. I checked out and we headed home about a short 10 min drive. Oh! My oil change on my dashboard wasn't reset... well maybe they just forgot... thinking to myself, it's ok, I'll just do that when I get home... I get home and thinking I should pop the hood to check if my oil did get changed. Opened the hood and pulled out the oil dip stick and my oil was a medium dark color. I get oil changes regularly every 6,000 miles and I know how my oil looks and smells after 6k miles and this oil wasn't changed. Well let me check my oil filter just to confirm... I slide under my car and see the old white filter used from the last oil change shop. It's got dark oil stains on the lip of the gasket and the bottom of the filter (not a new oil stain. CHECK OUT MY OIL FILER PIC)...Then I checked my tires..... MIDAS CLOVIS DID NOT CHANGE MY OIL, OIL FILTER, OR ROTATED MY TIRES as promised. I then checked my wife's car and hers was the same as well. I have been a Midas customer - at the Visalia location - for nearly 10 years. I have always received excellent service and fair prices. I scheduled an appointment with the Clovis shop, expecting the same level of service. However, I was quoted a price that is 4 times the amount that I'd normally pay. When I get explained that I am very familiar with what the routine maintenance should cost, he acted as if I were completely naive. Needless to say, I am taking my car elsewhere. read more

I had taken my car to another shop and they quoted me a ridiculous amount as well as tried to upsell me. I quickly got fed up and took my car to Midas. The people were so friendly over the phone and didn't mind taking the time to explain everything. I was greeted by Juilian v. With a warm welcome. She and the mechanic Nacho made me feel at home as they took the time to show me the failing parts on my car. I asked them if they could get my car fixed before 3pm. They made no promises but were able to pull it off for me to have my car back by 3. I am very used to getting treated in a ridiculous fashion in mechanic shops because I'm a woman and shops try to take advantage. I did not have to worry about this at Midas. Best thing of all, was they have all the parts under warranty. I WILL RETURN. read more

They diagnosed and fixed the problem and went above and beyond by installing a couple of parts I had bought to replace inside of the car (for free). While the technicians preformed at least some of work that was suggested, they broke other parts on my vehicle, then tried to weasel out of fixing those parts. Also, after taking my vehicle in, my check engine light wont go off. My vehicle ended up being in this shop for 4 extra days, MISSED a day of work, and had to rent a car for another day of work. There was very little communication from the manager regarding what or when the issues would be fixed. Additionally, when I did eventually get my vehicle back, I was not given any paperwork on what work was performed, and I had to call back later to actually get the paperwork, which took three phone calls and being blown off by the staff. read more

They found an oil leak from my transmission that had obviously been there a long time, yet no other shop took the time to mention. I've visited Midas for an oil change about 3 times but this past time the service was horrible. The first problem was when I arrived at 5:00 pm, they close at 6:00 pm, but I was told that they would not have time for an oil change and I HAD to leave my car overnight. Mind you, oil changes usually take 15 minutes, but because I needed an oil change urgently I decided to leave my car overnight. While filling out paperwork inside a news story was covering the recent change of transgender protections, one of the employees made lewd remarks about the LGBTQ community that were unprofessional and uncalled for. The next morning I get a call that my car is ready and that unfortunately my rear two tires were basically shot. The employee on the phone said that the tires were so bad that they were going to blow out on the highway and I could roll and that a new set of tires would cost me $400. Considering I only needed the two rear tires replaced I felt that was a bad price and advised them that an oil change was all I needed. When I went in to pick up my car I examined the two tires in question and they were not as bad as Midas was claiming. In fact the tires were fine all the way to LA and back and for another week until I finally got them replaced for $250 elsewhere. Overall my recent experience felt like the classic mechanics preying on female customers. I felt disrespected and that the service was severely lacking. I gave Midas 2 stars because at least I got my oil change even if the service was lacking. read more

The assistant manager, who assisted me, was friendly, straightforward, and accommodating. My car was done in about an hour and they also rotated my tires for free. They gave me a run down on the other services that would benefit my vehicle but didn't pressure me to complete them on the spot. I walked out the door paying only $20.86 including taxes. The guy told me that they couldn't do it bc they were full and tried to schedule me an appointment on Monday. How long does it take to do an oil change? Boo for liars! I came in with a coupon, of course. And the guy said my type of vehicle ONLY takes pure synthetic oil, and if we don't use synthetic oil it will void my warranty. Really?! I call GMC, and it's untrue! They recommend my vehicle have a blended synthetic oil, but they said by using non synthetic it wouldn't void the powertrain warranty. What a butthead! read more
