While I left a raving review on this shop about 9 months back, I felt the need to update it accordingly after a recent experience. Got a routine oil change and was told I had a plethora of issues with my brake pads, and they needed to be replaced ASAP since they were apparently "under 1MM". Asking over $600 total for the fixes. Ended up not getting serviced that day and instead took my car to Brakes Plus down the street. Ended up finding out that my front brake pad is at 5MM and the back at 8MM. They also were very informative and I ended up not having to spend anything on a fix and know what's needed when I do. Even if I had to fix it now, it would have been about half the price compared to Midas. Safe to say I won't be stepping foot in a Midas from here on out. Overpriced, shady, and untrustworthy to say the least. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Brought my car in because the oil pressure was at zero and alarms were ringing. Later that day they called to say the car was done and I owed $550. No phone call to tell me what was wrong and ask if I wanted to drop $500 at Christmas-time!! Who does that?? Stupidly, I just forked over the money and left, glad my car was fixed. But it wasn't. We didn't drive it over Christmas weekend but as soon as we started driving it, same problem. We took it back and they said it was "probably" the oil pump and quoted us $2000 without even looking at the car!! We just took it to another mechanic who said it doesn't need an oil pump. He just adjusted the sensor. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!! read more

This was before COVID. They had acted as if they knew what was wrong with my truck. I also asked them to do brakes. They overcharged, they didn't fix the issue with my truck, just a scamming business. They wanted to change a battery that i checked before hand and was fine. Get this, they tried to charge $25 per spark plug as well. That should speak volumes right there. Breaks they use are cheap as well and never stop making noise. Took it to a different shop, they said they knew exactly what the issue with the truck was, and to take it to the dealer because it was covered under warranty. And that mechanic was right. Midas is a joke. Don't even bother. read more

While traveling through the Denver area I had a warning light come on in my Ford and lost my power steering. I read the manual and restarted the car to reset it. The manual also said to see your dealer ASAP. After talking to 3 different Ford dealers, each giving me a 4-6 week estimate on when they could repair the steering module. I left the dealer determined to travel on and pray for the best. I hadn't driven more than a few blocks and my tire pressure light came on. So I drove another block or two and saw the Midas sign. I figured they would have air and could check my tires. My husband asked me to have them check my steering as well. They were able not only able to replace my tire that had a nail in the side wall but also replace the steering module. It was on the pricey side but I was glad to have peace of mind heading west through the mountain passes that my steering was not going to go at any moment- which was what the dealer had told me could happen. I was able to continue on my journey and made it safely to my destination. read more

Crooks. They take upselling to a whole new level. Unbeknownst to the person that I was speaking to, I had gotten a tire change and a full inspection done by a Midas owned by a separate franchise just a few months ago. Everything that they recommended to be fixed was done so immediately on that day (nothing which was unreasonable or that I didn't already know about). Now, just a few months later, somehow I have over $1,000 worth of repairs that need to be done on my car lest something catastrophic will happen. They also managed to break my door. I suspect that they loosened something to create a new leak, but I'll find out about that tomorrow when I take my car into the franchise that I typically go to with honest mechanics. I STRONGLY recommend avoiding this shop at ALL COSTS. Or it will cost you. read more

Went here on a Friday at lunchtime when they were very busy after I got an oil change at another shop because the shop told me I need ed to have my brakes checked. I went to Midas and asked about getting my brakes checked then gentlemen said they were really busy and he didn't want me to have to wait and to come back the next day at 7am when they opened. I came back the next day at 730 and they were not busy and he told me what they were going to do is just check the brakes for no charge and then call me and let me know. I received a call and they found some work but I knew there would be. Very quick and fast. Great customer service. Have been here numerous times for work on my car and I love it. The ole lady brought her brand new F150 to this shop for a simple oil change. She made an appointment ahead of time and even dropped it off early. About 3 hours past her appointment time they get it in. When she picked it up they said, "the outer left tie rod end is FALLING OFF". I get home and inspect the truck, mind you I'm a level 3 diesel and crane technician, there wasn't a single piece of hardware loose. And they couldn't even clean the oil off the oil pan once done with the service. Last time I have unprofessional lube techs work on her vehicle. read more

No reviews since 2010 means it's time for an update. I called ahead to see if they had any openings on a Saturday and I was told to come right down. Pete was extremely friendly when I arrived and made me feel comfortable. He asked about the mileage on my car in order to pick the right oil change package and didn't attempt to guilt me into a more expensive package. I got my car back quickly without any attempts to push additional services on me. All in all, I was extremely happy with the service. I guess I would give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the waiting room looks exactly the same as it did nearly a decade ago when I was in. Instead of waiting there, I headed to the Diamond Nails down the street for a pedi (I'd hugely recommend it!). read more

I had two previous oil changes and they went without incident. On the third I found a puddle of oil on the garage floor the day after the change. I brought the vehicle back and they told me that the oil pan plug was not tightened sufficiently. That could have been a catastrophic mistake if I had driven any distance. I felt they also tried to sell me on questionable brake repair which I declined. Be careful with this location. read more

They quoted me $1,600 to fix struts and shocks. I told them I didn't want it and that I wanted a FULL synthetic oil change. They called me back and told me they did a semi synthetic. I asked why they didn't do a full. He told me that once you do synthetic oil, you can't switch back to conventional. Everyone I have talked to said this is straight up a myth. I broke down in front of this Midas 5 mins after they closed and the mechanic was inside, with the open sign still on. They locked the door and refused to even talk to me, instead they pointed at the lock and yelled at me. I had two strangers and my girlfriend help me push my car off the road into the Midas parking lot. I took my car to get an oil change and investigate a leak. They identified the problem and fixed it for about 10$. They informed me the part I bought was unneeded and cleaned and returned the part to me to return . I planned on spending hundreds and left with a 40$ invoice . They were honest , showed me exactly what was wrong and where and got me out quickly . I will be going back to this location for all my automotive needs . One thing is to check price on parts before you purchase them from an mechanic , you can always get them cheaper on your own. This is nothing against Midas , they allow you to bring parts in for them to replace which is very kind and then charge only for labor which is fair and kind . Appreciate these guys . read more

Regardless of any other review you read, this is the best shop you will find. I have never had such personal, honest, and hospitable service in my life. They took care of my wife and made sure she did not leave the shop with her car in it's (then) current state which was incredibly unsafe. Today, they drove me to a store to buy the needed part for my vehicle, installed the part, and let me drive away without paying a cent to Midas.If you want the best mechanic at the best shop, ask for Ian. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. SCAM ALERT!!! I bought a "gold card" for three oil changes at this Midas. I brought my car in a few months ago for one of the oil changes, and they told me that my rear differential was leaking slowly. They said it was not bad enough to fix at the time and that I could wait to see if it became worse. I brought it in for the 2nd oil change on July 13, and they said the leak had become much worse, so I made an appointment for the 20th at 3:00 to have that repaired. I showed up at 3:00 and the guy behind the counter had no idea why I was there. There was no record of the service I was needing done, and I had to show him the estimate from the oil change so he knew. He showed another employee that there was no record in their system of anything being wrong with the differential. That guy claimed it was because it would only show up when he printed it out, to which the guy behind the counter returned a questioning face that started making me wonder if I was getting scammed. Then he told me it would take until close for the repair since he had to order a part. I asked him why a part had to be ordered when I had an appointment, and shouldn't that have already been done? He said it wasn't a big deal because it was a part he could get in 20 minutes. Since the guy the previous week told me this would be a very quick repair, I hadn't planned for sitting at the shop for 3 hours. I called my boyfriend to pick me up, which he had to leave work to do. I also had to miss a meeting at work to even make this appointment. Then I received a call a couple of hours later saying that they hadn't even been able to take a look at the car yet, and that they wouldn't get it done that night. I asked what the purpose of making an appointment was, and the guy's response was "we were just too busy with other repairs and didn't have enough mechanics". Ok....then why did you allow me to make an appointment for a time when you already had too much going on and/or didn't have enough staff? And you also didn't know this when I arrived?? I wasted an entire evening and changed plans for that appointment. This was also a service they said "should not wait" because it was a $250 repair now, but if the oil ran dry, I would have to replace the entire rear axle for upwards of $1500. When I arrived back at the shop to pick up my car (because I sure as heck wasn't going to leave it sitting on west Colfax for the evening), the guy just handed me my keys and gave me a weak "sorry". No attempt to earn back the business, no understanding of the inconvenience he had caused....nothing. Extremely poor customer service. NOW COMES THE MAIN PART OF THIS REVIEW- Thinking I had a major and imperative repair, I immediately brought the car from Midas to the actual dealership. I had no appointment, but the gentleman there said he would be able to take a look at my car the next morning. The next afternoon I received a call from the dealership saying that they had looked extensively at and around my rear differential and there was ABSOLUTELY NO LEAK. He put it in a report to verify it and said he was really glad my appointment with Midas didn't work out, or I would have spent money on an unnecessary repair. I think the Better Business Bureau might be interested to know that this Midas location is fabricating car repairs, and I hope this review prevents many people from being ripped off by these crooks!! I was told during appt scheduling that service (a single cut pipe from a failed cat converter theft that just needed to be welded) would be quick and I could wait for my vehicle while they did the work (I provided to Midas on line scheduler that it was a Ford e350 box truck). When I got there they told me I would have to leave it. I reminded them they said they would repair it while I waited. They said they didn't have a bay big enough for my box truck. I asked why then did they tell me they would do the work quickly while I waited when I scheduled the appointment. They said they didn't know how big my truck was and suggested I rescheduled. If the size was the issue, they should have asked during scheduling. Midas' mishandling of the scheduling caused me to make additional arrangements which put me out. The $140 weld job was eventually performed ok. The serviceman said he didn't even have to lift the truck to perform the weld. read more

The first time I went to this Midas was for brakes and they did a good job, even though I thought it was a little expensive, That is not the issue I had. When i needed brakes the next time, I decided to go back as the service was good and they are close by. I dropped of my car first thing on a Saturday morning and I noticed that around 2 o'clock that I had not heard from them. I gave them a call to get an update and they said that my tires had just gotten there and that they should be done in about 45 minutes or so. What? I told them my car was in there for brakes and they said "Yes but we noticed your tire tread was getting low so we ordered you 4 new tires." Huh...they were going to put 4 tires on my car, for over $800, with out my consent. Needless to say I told them put my tires back on and I would be right there. I went in, paid for my brakes and have never been back. read more

No one bothered to tell me that their radiator flushing machine was down until after I arrived for my appointment. Furthermore, he acted like that was a "non-issue" and was planning on having me keep my appointment anyway. I thought it was a strange question when he first asked me "why do you want to flush your radiator?", but I just told him it had some rust or something in the fluid and I wanted it cleaned out. He then proceeded to tell me that we're just going to do a "dump and fill" and he thought that would be adequate. I guess he thought that my time and money were abundant and so didn't mind wasting both of them. I was so pissed I just said "never mind" and walked out. In the end, it's better to air my grievances here than in the Midas office anyway. read more

Midas has gone from my best to the WORST possible place to have my car service. I had oil chance that they supposed to give me a sticker of what mileage I went there the last time. When I got home I checked that the sticker is 3000 miles INACCURATE. Apparently it's a sticker reminder for another car. WTF. They put a sticker last time my car was in service 126,332 mi while my car was only 123,543mi. I live far away and they unwilling to help me to investigate it to make it right so I know when I have to change my oil since I lost the receipt. Never never never I had a friendly response. This's NOT the first time they make mistake. I'm disappointed! read more

Not a good experience. Took my truck in due to a failed CO emissions test and was told that they could fix the Knock sensor for $1,100 and that would fix my issue with the CO problem. I had them do the work and returned to the emissions center only to be told my problem with the CO got worse. I had the State of Colorado "AIR" Program do an independent evaluation of my truck and found out that fixing the Knock sensor was not the correct procedure for fixing a CO emissions issue. Basically I feel like these guys fixed the wrong problem and sent me on my way with an $1,100 bill. read more

Stay away from these guys. I started going there in 2011 and they did some service and sold me some fairly expensive tires. I quit going after they started pushing expensive "repairs" I didn't need. (I verified with another, long-time trusted mechanic that the "repairs" they were promoting were unnecessary.) After about 25,000 miles, one of the tires they'd sold me proved defective, so I returned. After giving me a song and dance about aspects of the tires that, in fact, were not discoverable by a visual inspection, they admitted I'd qualify for warranty coverage and that they'd get back to me. They never did. I bought new tires elsewhere. Sleaze factor is high, in my opinion. read more
