My latest experience at Firestone Complete Auto Care, on Colfax Avenue, in Lakewood, CO was not a good one. As I was getting an oil change there, I asked the service person to check my tires for correct pressure. I noticed upon check out that the person who worked on my vehicle had marked the pressure in each tire as 35psi. I noticed on the way home, that my low pressure indicator on the dash was still lit. As this did not blink off, after driving for a half an hour or so, I stopped to check the pressure in the tires to see which one was registering as having low pressure. I found that the pressure in each tire was not at 35 PSI, and in actuality, only one tire had 35 PSI. I also noticed upon inspecting my tires, that the tread was rather low especially on the two rear tires, where it measured at 2/32nds to 3/32nds of tread left and not the 5/32nds they recorded on the service report. As to verify the tread depth accuracy of my device, I stopped at another Firestone located some distance away, in Lakewood for a second opinion. Upon speaking with the service person at that Firestone store, and their checking the tread depth on all four tires, it was found that all four tires needed replacement as the tread depth was at an unsafe depth measurement. I immediately scheduled an appointment to change out all four tires, as I had noticed in the recent snowstorm that I was not having good traction in packed snow,or slushy snow, on the road. I feel that the Firestone Complete Auto Care store on Colfax in Lakewood, Colorado did not provide good service, in accurately inspecting my tires for correct pressure, or observing the tread depth on those tires. And that they may have just signed off that they were all okay, without actually inspecting all four tires. This oversight on their part, could have led to dangerously underinflated tire pressures, and a tread depth that was unsafe to drive on, especially in snowy and icy conditions here in Colorado. As I generally receive good service at that Firestone store on Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, CO, I am unsure whether to chalk this up to oversight by the service person, or just inaccuracy, on their service report. read more

On March 18, 2021, I took my car here to get a tire patched. Everything seemed fine. I have gotten my car serviced here before so I thought I could trust them. The next day, I was driving and started hearing loud thuds and then the car would shake so I pulled over. It turns out that the tech didn't torque down my tire. When I checked all of the lug nuts, THEY WERE ALL LOOSE. If it weren't for my wheel lock, I'm pretty sure the entire tire would've fallen off while I was driving on the highway. I called the store and Richie, the manager, picked up and advised me to try and tighten them on my own and drive back to the store so they can check everything. So I did. Supposedly, everything looked fine. I can't even trust that. He gave me a card that was supposed to be for a free oil change, said he would write up the tech because this shouldn't have happened and that there is supposed to be protocol for another manager to check the tires after work was done. This was when I found out that the tech also lost my wheel lock key. Richie told me that they would look for it and that they would call me once they found it. One week goes by and I don't hear anything so I decided that I would follow up. I call Richie and he tells me that they haven't found the wheel lock key. I asked him if he would replace it and he said yes but it would take some time and he would call me when he did. Another week goes by and I don't hear anything. I call back to follow up again because at this point, I get anxiety driving around knowing that I don't have a wheel lock key to change my tires if something were to happen. That puts me in a difficult position. Again, he tells me that, "it's on his list of things to do but they don't have a new wheel lock for me yet." He says it should be easy to get ahold of it and that he would call me once he got it. It's been almost 3 weeks since I last followed up and I still haven't heard anything. What I'm wondering is if it was so easy, why hasn't it been done? Why am I, the customer, having to follow up for something that you said you would do? The trust has already been broken but the lack of communication and sense of urgency is really what makes this situation even more unacceptable. The fact that ALL of my lug nuts came loose after they patched my tire is not ok. That put my life and other driver's lives in danger. I am appalled at how this has been handled. My friend even looked into what it would take to get a new set of wheel locks with a new wheel lock key and it's so simple. Yet why hasn't it been handled? People and service like this is why consumers don't trust third party stores in the first place. It is now 4/30/21 and I still haven't heard anything. read more

Showed up for our tire install and guy said we needed to pay for installation when we already did pay for an install. Then they said we needed an appointment but we had one! Then they messed up on the installation! Richie, the manager said we needed to warranty a tire he installed incorrectly and damaged these brand new tires we just bought. Then he said he installed a damaged tire on my boyfriends wheel and it came damaged from the manufacture but he installed it anyway. Then he said his equipment may be damaged and that could have damaged the tire. He had us drive off the parking lot with a damaged tire and said we needed to use the manufacture warranty to replace it. When Richie took the tire off the wheel in front of us, and it was clear that his shop installed it very incorrectly and damaged the brand new tire and he was not owning up to it and said it was not their problem. Richie kept making up excuses about why it was a warranty issue and wouldn't simply replace it but kept digging a deeper hole. This place is very sketchy and I would never get a vehicle worked on there ever again. This is a HUGE liability issue. Driving the jeep around with a ripped tire and bubble in the tire can cause serious damage and problems. Not just to the keep but other drivers and us as well. She said they would take care of me she said she didn't care if was difficult she wasn't going to leave anyone without transportation in this cold. In less than an hour and a half my car was ready. So it started with a flat... and then a spare was also flat... and then i had to wait for a tow truck and then they arrived without enough time to arrive at Firestone for them to fix my flat (we have the protection plan with them, that this would be free) I called up and Troy answered my call and my plea for help. There was already a line but he's see how it looked when i arrived. As it got closer to 7 i called again and told Troy i would not make it and where could i drop the key for me to get my car worked on the next day. He said he had some work to do and would probably still be on site when i arrived but if not it was near the door. (Pretty sure this nice man waited for me and my car to arrive) We arrived about 7 min after closing and the tow truck fell dropped my car in front of the bay doors, Troy kindly and gently moved the car into a parking spot and had me wait inside where it was warm After that he apologized that there was not a tech to help me - mind you i arrived after closing. Very sweet. He got me all ready to go, key in the plastic sleeve and the card of the morning manager to check on the status of my car the next day. He definitely turned a crappy afternoon/evening into something less so. Alas, the awesome service stops there. The next morning, i had to take the bus to work (obviously) Hubby agreed to call and check on the car. Ray - the morning manager was not amazing. My key that has been so property left to be added into the work in the morning had to be found and added to the queue.. Ray was gruff and not kind. We called back later to indicate one tire was shot and go into a whole big thing about getting the hubby to buy tires. If he had looked at the car or out account he would see that we get out tires elsewhere and ship them to firestone to install... Eventually hubby had to shut him off and ask if there was a way to patch the spare so the wife could get the car home and we would think about what to do. Next, i arrive to obtain my car. I indicate my name, he looks at me weird, and i say - the double flat? back tire and spare? Oh yeah. He started to explain to me that we should get new tires. Having no info on the conversation yet, i say, oh yeah, he ordered them already and they are being shipped to the place downtown, cause that is closer to our house. Ooops... not the way to start it off with ray. Obviously he was cranky about losing the commission and basically shoved me out the door and did not indicate where my car would be. Luckily i could see my pod and knew where it was. Sadly we would not come back here because Ray was such a bad customer service rep. I've been a Firestone customer for 10+ years. I currently own two vehicles that I've had serviced at Firestone. Both have tire packages and lifetime alignment packages with Firestone, which has been a major time/money saver. I've used several different Firestone locations in the Lakewood/Littleton area, including the location at Belmar. I've had problems with bad service, slow service and generally absurd behavior by the staff at all three locations. I used the Littleton location for awhile until they messed up a simple oil change, then used this location at Colfax for awhile. But doing business on Colfax makes any reasonable person nervous, since you might get attacked by homeless psychopaths at any moment. When the new Belmar location opened, I started going there instead of this location on Colfax. Unfortunately, service at the Belmar location hasn't been great either. I recently had to call a regional manager just to deal with an issue regarding a basic service. Firestone really needs to work on their customer service throughout the whole company. read more

Absolutely fantastic service and fair prices. Great deals on oil changes, alignments, and general preventative maintenance. Oh, and tires, too. I've been into this location for over a year for everything the car has needed, from emergency morning tire repair or replacement on my way to work to oil changes to diagnosing and repairing a busted CV axle. I've always gotten a fair appraisal, a good price, and great service. There's probably cheaper repair places out there, but you run the risk of shoddy service for the low price point. Or they'll have a dozen other things they'll badger you to add, from extra services you might not need to fancy designer air filter markups. These guys will get you back on the road, will be up front and communicative about the status of your service and be fair on the price, and while they'll tell you what could use a replacement, they won't talk down to you or make you feel bad for putting off non-vital repair work. They even suggested I replace a special headlight myself, because while they couldn't get one on short notice, they're not terribly hard to find or hard to replace. Just uncommon and more expensive for the part than the labor, for once. I'll be coming back. And I recommend giving them a try. read more

This could have been a 4 star review, but it's not. And Nate saved it from being a two star review. I stopped in today to get an alignment and an oil change on my husband's truck. I didn't have an appointment, so I give them credit for getting me in right away. The time estimate was about two hours, so I walked down the street to do some shopping. I came in about the two hour mark and the truck was still up in the bay. I sat and waited until my husband came in, which was a half an hour later. We asked how much longer it would be, and they said about 20 minutes. Approximately 5-10 minutes later, it was done. So the total time was about 2 hours and 45 minutes for the alignment and oil change. To Nate's credit, when the truck was done, he gave us a discount off our alignment for it taking so long - all without us asking for it. This gesture will keep us coming back instead of swearing off Firestone all together. We'll make sure we have plenty of time to spare when it comes to repairs. read more

Worst customer service and diagnostics! I had my van towed here by AAA for repair. The engine overheated and there was radiator fluid leaking. I said I thought the radiator was cracked. It took them 3 days to assess. 3rd day gave me a laundry list of stuff that needed fixing, but said the cause of the problem was my air filter box was cracked. They could not get the part, but if I could find one, they'd install it for $248. The other stuff, replace belts, change oil, new battery, fuel system clean, brake package, etc. is $1200. I asked about the radiator. They said it was fine. I didn't trust their diagnosis, so took it to Meineke down the road. They had it fixed in less than a day. All it needed was a new radiator - mine was cracked. Runs like a charm! These folks at this shop are clueless! read more

I installed new ball joints and outer tie rod ends over the weekend, and came in to get an alignment. After an hour the tech told me that they were unable to perform any changes to the alignment, because the components were maxed out in their adjustments. They still charged me $87, though they didn't actually perform adjustment and instead did the equivalent of an inspection (which is free according to their price sheet). Car thieves love this place! My daughter dropped her car off Saturday. She checked in Wednesday since she hadn't hears from them. She called Thursday afternoon to see if the car was ready and told her it had already been picked up. They had the only set of keys. Once it was ascertained the car was stolen, Richie , the manager REFUSED to file a police report. I asked for camera footage. They don't have cameras. Or appropriate security controls for the cars in their care. After talking to another location, NOTHING was done in accordance to their corporate procedures AND they are denying responsibility. I've come here many times and encouraged many neighbors who live close to. I have NEVER experience such awful customer service before now. Tony told me to hang on a few minutes while she looked up my account. She then hung up, no big deal, she forgot to mention she was going to call me back (so I assumed). I didnt get a call back for half an hour so I called and asked for an update. She then proceeded to rudely explain she had a line out the door and she's busy. I told her her attitude wasn't appreciated and I wasnt aware of she was busy AND SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and asked for the manager of the store and she said she was. I asked if she was actually the GM and she said she was just the manager running the store right then, then tried to back track while still being disgustingly rude saying I could have just given her 20 minutes more and she'd call. Then hung up again. I'm completely embarrassed for Firestone employing such a rude individual. Their customer service has always been great and this is just disappointing. These guys are okay for basic work. However, if you have a complex issue, go somewhere else. I know it can be annoying to read long reviews. However, if you are searching for a good repair shop, do yourself a favor and read this review before taking your business to Firestone. A few months back, we started having problems with our driver side window on our Toyota Sienna. We took it to the Firestone on Colfax. We explained to the manager, Murray, that the problem was complex: upon rolling down the window, it would clunk (like metal against glass) and catch (sometimes getting stuck for a second or two). It occurred only on hotter days (never cooler days) and in the exact same spot on roll down. It occurred only on the first roll down, and in order to make it happen again, you would have to roll it up and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Lastly, it only happened when the door was shut, never when it was open. Murray told us that it could only be the motor or the regulator- the only replaceable parts in the door. After testing the window, Firestone claimed the problem was the motor. They said it was struggling and overheating (just FYI, the motor was only 3 years old). They admitted that they did not experience any issues with the window and were only guessing that the cause was the motor. We gave them the go-ahead to replace it. The problem occurred again shortly after I left their parking lot. I returned to Firestone to tell them that the problem had not been fix and made another appointment. When I returned for the second appointment, the technician who worked on the window informed me that he had rolled the window up and down at least 30 times, consecutively, and couldn't make the window do what I was describing. Question: If you roll a window up and down 30 times in a row, wouldn't it make the motor hot- especially if something was obstructing its movement? Also, didn't I explain that it only happened on the first roll down and wouldn't happen again until you let it rest? Hmmm.... On the second appointment, Firestone replaced the regulator. They admitted that there was nothing wrong with it, but stated again that the problem could only be caused by the motor or the regulator. We gave the go-ahead with the understanding that if it didn't solve the issue they would put the old one back in and give us a refund. They agreed. The problem didn't occur upon leaving their parking lot, but occurred again a short while later. A few days later we returned to Firestone to let them know that the problem had not been fixed. As we were leaving the driveway to head to Firestone, something broke in the door. The window shifted and slipped and became stuck in a down position. My husband and I had to pull together on the window to get it to come back up. Murray told us to take it to Toyota (which we won't do because they are seriously overpriced). He agreed to a refund for the parts, but kept the labor charge. They did not swap out the new parts for the old ones- just gave us the refund. A week or so later, we took the problem to Sun Valley Automotive. Upon inspection, they informed us that the regulator had bent (we have it, it is bent). They looked up the information on the regulator and informed us that Firestone had used an "aftermarket" part. So, we had to pay for a new regulator. The original issue occurred again as my husband drove the car out of their parking lot. He turned around and came right back. Jere, the owner, came running out of the office when he saw our car return. They made another appointment for the next day. The next morning, Jere called my husband to make sure he was coming back. He said the technician (Matt) who worked on the window was "up all night" worrying over it (no doubt an exaggeration, but nice customer service). Well, to finally end a long story, Matt quickly figured out what was causing the issue. The door catch had broken and was in the path of the window as it rolled down. Simple repair. Our window works great! As far as we are concerned, Firestone still owes us money: $91.80 in labor and $255.98 (a total of $347.78 down the drain) for the window regulator we had to replace again because they used an aftermarket part that broke. If they had fixed the problem correctly in the first place, we would never have had the motor and regulator replaced. I am tired of dealing with Firestone and this issue. Therefore I am not going to fight for a refund. If this review dissuades at least a couple potential clients from using them, I figure I'll get my refund karmically. Believe me, there are significantly better shops out there. At any rate, Sun Valley Automotive has officially earned our business and our endorsement. Firestone has lost our business forever. And, it is good business- our Toyota is old and tired! Please, if you are looking for an excellent shop, look no further. Take your problems to Sun Valley. At the very least, avoid the Firestone on Colfax. read more

I bring my vehicle here because I work in the area and I have a Firestone card. They don't tend to up-sell me, which I appreciate, and the staff is friendly, but they are SLOW. I've only ever had routine maintenance done, drop my car off in the morning, plan to pick up after work, and I've yet to have my car ready for me. Always have to wait, even with a simple oil change. Last trip was told "be ready 45 minutes" (when I called THEM for an update at 4pm - no word all day to that point). I waited until an HOUR past that time, showed up and still had to wait 30 more - which I knew was obvious when I walked up, saw my car on the lift with all tires off. No regard for your time. They get 3 stars because I can't fault their mechanical work, but customer service needs an overhaul. read more

For the record, this is my third time here for completely different services; tires on my 4runner, alignment on a RAV4, balance/rotation. All times they have courteous and professional...
