This place is great! Very friendly, helpful and professional. They took me same day without an appointment, stayed late to honor getting the work done in one day as promised (which was incredibly gracious of them). I will not go anywhere else from now on. Sure there were some extra things added to the bill BUT it's because they were entirely necessary fixes that they were able to take care of quickly and affordably. I had to write this review, as my experience was so unpleasant and the merchant so unscrupulous and slimy, that I needed to balance what I read that made me try this Midas shop. BEWARE, they don't honor their coupons, they don't list their prices, which CHANGE after your car is disassembled. They withhold how long it will take for service until it's too late. Adrian, the lump sitting at reception, does make a great first impression...UNTIL you bring up any irregularity, or ask what's taking so long. Then you wake up the real Adrian, the short, defensive liar who plays (God I hope so) dumb, knowing they have you by the curlies. The shop manager, an even larger lump of a man, got to where he was by being even better at being defensive, making up COMPLETELY false facts, and rewrites history straight to your face. I called in advance, was told to come in, and they could get my oil change & brake fluid flush done before closing (2 hours). I KID YOU NOT: After I arrived, and had waited 50 minutes for my car to even be brought into the bay, I was told that it would take 2.5 MORE HOURS to do an oil change (15 minutes of work everywhere, including any other Midas, and change the fluid; that that was the standard time (a bald faced lie), and that they would stay open for an extra 90 minutes to do it--that's what they meant by before closing. They just wouldn't close. THREE AND A HALF HOURS to do 30 minutes' work. They had one tech. They knew all along how slow they would be, but Adrain grinned, the shop manager smiled widely, and NO one, not ONCE, said how short-handed they were, that it would be an hour before the car was even brought in, and 2.5 hours longer to do two ridiculously easy services. They didn't honor the coupon from Midas--they said it was a typo (wtf?); they didn't know how to reset the change oil indicator that I SPECIFICALLY asked if they could; they charged MORE than even they quoted when I arrived, which was over TWICE what the Midas on Sunset quotes. I truly don't know who the patrons are that wrote such glowing reviews of this place. I now see it's the lowest rated of Midas shops in the area--I clearly know why. They are amoral charlatans who revel at taking advantage of people's time and money. You are an idiot if you go to this place rolling the dice that somehow they rise to the occasion and do a piss poor job without robbing you blind. I can't wait to see how they change facts, go on the defensive and spin this against the customer. They have a lot of experience doing it, and no doubt will put lipstick on the pig so as to keep the unsuspecting public coming in to get screwed. read more

After waiting over 4 hours for an oil change and another simple repair I still hadn't received a call stating that the car was ready. So I called and was told the car was still not quite ready. I showed up 45 minutes later (5 hours after drop off and still no call) and picked up the car. I'm guessing that they prioritize cars for people who are waiting in the shop. Whatever the reason for the wait, there is no excuse for keeping a car for the better part of a day for (I'll say it again) an oil change and simple repair. Midas did a solid job (oil change and simple repair), but the wait time was excessive. I can get an efficient oil change anywhere in town. Took my truck to the dealership where I bought it. Had an issue with the engine light. My vehicle was diagnosed as having a bad engine. Decided to have a second opinion since they couldn't give a solid answer on what was the exact issue. Paid $65 to have the truck towed to Midas and the tech found an issue with a spark plug. Went in to get a quote on a spark plug change. The first price given was $119 then they changed it to $329. So then they say it won't guarantee to fix the problem so I had to pay an additional $100 for them to tell me the exact same thing I went in for. And now the price went up to $1150. Ridiculous place and Adrian is full of shit. He quoted me for wiper blades as well when I don't even have a month with the current ones now. And last time I was there I asked how much it was for a power steering fluid change ( which I didn't need because it had been done recently ) just out of curiosity, and now on my quote it says I need one. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND RUDENESS & GETTING RIPPED OFF, & UNLESS YOU WANT TO CONTRACT PINKEYE. According to the rude bald-headed guy with PINKEYE (nasty) who was manning the counter, ownership of this place changed a month and a half ago. It was pretty obvious to me as soon as I walked in. The bald guy just stared at his computer screen, and when he finally looked at me, he had a condescending look on his face as if I smelled bad (I shower twice nowadays with the heat, and I wear deodorant... last time I sniffed myself, I smelled of Secret Tropical Breeze). He goes, "What can I do for you?" with a tinge of sarcasm and then looks right back at his computer screen. I asked if they do brake pads and how much they cost. He said, "Well it depends on what kind of car you have," without looking up from his computer screen. I told him the model of my car, which is a 10-year old economic Asian car (don't wanna state the model for privacy reasons). He said, "$170". I immediately knew he was full of it because I've had brake pads changed before for much less back home in Hawaii (plus, higher prices back home). I said, "I'll just go for the oil change." Again, without looking at me, he points at the oil change ad on the counter & says, "Well, pick one." Rude son of a bitch, I tell you. I ask, "Is the other guy here, your manager?" He responds, "I don't know what 'other guy' you're talking about--we just bought this place a month and a half ago." Embarassed, I reply, "That makes sense, I came here before you took over. My mistake." Then I leave. 1) They will overcharge you. 2) They are rude (or am I mistaken & was he actually being RACIST?!??). 3) The bald guy has PINKEYE (look it up if if you don't know what that is, but it has to do with your eyes coming in contact with feces) for crying out loud, which is CONTAGIOUS. read more

I brought my tahoe in for them to check my brakes 3 weeks ago and paid $60. The brakes locked up on me, and the caliper bolt came off, so I called and told them what happened. They told me they were not responsible for them at this point, and said I must have tampered with it, and have been blaming me since I called. If I bring something in to make sure it is safe, they tell me it's safe, and this happens, I'm not ever coming to this location again. read more

What the Heck !!!!! Mike was a good man but the tech.needs to be fired !!! lucky I did not file a fraud complaint with the Bar. If you go there make them show you proof of whats needed. Had a coupon for a free oil change, called in the morning to make an appointment and told the guy on the phone I had the coupon and wanted to upgrade to synthetic if he could give me the price he said he would first have to look at what I have before telling me the price so I made my appointment. I get there 30 minutes early, so I'm assuming I will have to wait until my scheduled time. I told the guy when I walked in I was really early for a 2:00 oil change, he didn't look happy or even great me, name? I give it to him he grabs a clipboard so I pull out my coupon and have it on the counter, he asked year make and model so I give it to him and then he walks away without saying anything and goes out looking for my car comes back and starts ringing me up. He offers me a free tire rotation which is included with the oil change so I say sure. He prints out a receipt and it's for $89. I'm in shock and say I have the coupon and he tells me you didn't tell me you had that, I say your not even asking what I want and I asked did you ring me up for synthetic and he said yes and then he said oh I talked to you earlier. So he takes the coupon and prints out another receipt and this time it was $68. For a free oil change? I said never mind and I left. I have gone tons of places to get my car worked on and my oil changed but this was ridiculous, I don't know if he was upset that I was early to my appointment and I interrupted him in the middle of something but his customer service sucked. I took my 4Runner into this MIDAS. I had a groupon which they did not honor but sold me on a full synthetic oil change bogo for $89.07 but with the next one free it was almost the same as the Groupon so I had it done. In the meantime I traded in my truck so I returned with my spouses car and the paperwork and my ID but he said it's only for the same car. Now I ask you what difference what car the work is done on? He wouldn't honor the second free oil change. This is not the type of business I ever want to deal with again. Unfortunately I'll never ever go to another Midas ever again. As I arrived in the parking lot of this location I was surprised how clean it was for an automotive place. As I was opening my door John the service manager was waiting with a smile and a hand shake. Wow! I asked for an oil change and he gave me 3 choices, Regular High Mileage or Synthetic. I own a newer Honda so I chose Synthetic. John showed me and explained the inspection sheet his tech would be using to check all of the under hood components etc as well as a free visual brake inspection and tire rotation. All of this included in an oil change? Wow again! He escorted me to the lobby where they had a huge waiting room with a flat screen TV free WIFI popcorn etc. Very nice! I was even handed a copy of my factory scheduled maintenance so I knew what in the future I would need to maintain my vehicle properly. I was even escorted to my car as the oil was being changed and John went over inspection sheet. No shop does that anymore! I will be back!! read more

Went here this week and was very dissapointed. They charged me $163 for a oil change basically. They said it would be 1500 to replace a compressor, but when I asked a differnt place I was quoted $800. There seemed to be a dissention opinions of what could be done to fix a leak I had. Anyways I will have to go somewhwere else that is cheaper I guess. The people were cool but the prices I cant afford. read more

My boyfriend got a coupon at work from Randy for a free oil change. I went to this location because it was very close to my house. Unfortunately, my car only takes synthetic(2011 Corolla), so I knew that there would be a charge. Mike greeted me as I walked up. We walked into the lobby as i told him what i need. He used the coupon as a discount, told me it was going to be an hour. So I prepared to wait. I made myself a coffee and sat in the lobby. Mike was finishing some paperwork and we chatted as I waited for my car. They didn't have the filter and had to order it. No biggie, it was delivered quickly from AutoZone. Mike kept me company while doing his manager duties, made me laugh and just made me feel like I was talking to one of my uncles. Before you knew it, my car was done. I don't even know if it even took an hour, it didn't feel like it. All thanks to Mike and his exceptional Customer Service. Thank you Mike. I'm making this my main location. I'm surprised this place doesn't have a full 5 stars. Adrian was who assisted me and he went above and beyond with other issues my car had. Very friendly, attentive and timely. As a woman most auto shops tend to think I'm not car savy when it comes to these things and they will manipulate to squeeze more money out of you for something you don't necessarily need but here I actually felt like I was treated with respect and handled like a lady. Bought a 3 oil change coupon from Groupon, the first one went fine, no charge along with great customer service. On the second one, I brought my other vehicle and I encountered a different person, a bald headed guy who quoted me $60. I told him I had two more oil changes left to which he replied that they weren't covered with a synthetic blend. I told him I didn't want synthetic, I wanted what came with the deal. He said 5w 20 oil doesn't come with that coupon. I told him I wanted 5w30, which is what is recommended in the owners manual. He told me to show him, so I headed towards the door to get it when he said it doesn't matter it's a different vehicle so it wasn't covered. I said, 'are you telling me that you won't honor this coupon?' He said 'that's right', and I walked out, and will never be returning. The Groupon deal clearly states that up to 5 quarts of 5w30 standard oil and filter are included in the oil change, exactly what I was asking for. Not only was I denied the use of the Groupon, but this person was extremely rude and unprofessional, as if he was pissed off to have to give people all these oil change deals. Too bad for them, had the last two oil changes went as well as the first, I would have continued to bring them all my business in the future. Oil changes, 30k service, brakes, whatever. When I first pulled up, all the grease monkeys were just sitting around on chairs in the bay with nothing to do, now I know why they have so much free time and aren't getting any business. Not sure who the first guy was who did give me good service, but in my opinion, its not worth running into a loser who doesn't know how to treat a customer to bother with this shop. Nice owner! Helpful! At this point (if you find my other reviews), I've had a history of very helpful Midas owners. I'm coming from middle-of-nowhere Ft. Irwin (2.5 hours away) to pick up my family at the Las Vegas Airport. My maintenance lights come on and was worried something was wrong being hours away from home. I picked up my family and we went straight to this Midas and I explained the situation. The owner (I'm sorry I forgot his name!) almost immediately took a look at it even though he had other cars getting looked at by his employees. He said all I needed was to reset the system (I had an oil change at a place close to where I lived that week prior so that's probably what happened). He did that for me at no charge and was very sweet! THANK YOU!!!! read more

I bought a deal for 3 oil changes on livingsocial.com and had pretty good experiences the first two visits. Yesterday my boyfriend took my car in for me for the third one. I called the day before to schedule and ask how much it would be since I upgrade to synthetic blend. I was told it would be $19.95 plus tax and disposal fees which add up to less than $30. Well, when my boyfriend got there they told him it was going to be almost $50. I called and spoke with Matt, the guy my boyfriend was dealing with there, and I was appalled at how rude he was to me. I explained to him that I was quoted a different price on the phone and he kept giving me excuses as to why I paid that price last time but it's different now. None made sense and he was very arrogant in his communication with me. He wouldn't take any ownership for what I had been told by the other staff member, Pete. I finally told him I wouldn't be bringing my car back there again and he responded, "Well, I didn't think you would be because you're out of free ones now." Unbelievable! First, the oil changes were not free; I paid for them even if they were discounted. Plus, not only did I upgrade to synthetic, I also had them change my brakes and do a throttle body service, so it's not as though I was only going there for cheap oil changes. I thought they offered those deals to try to get new business. Apparently this guy missed that memo. I will NOT be giving this shop any more of my business. read more

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation, waited approx 45 min and was done. Or so I thought. Upon hearing some new noises coming from my car, I found that THEY DID NOT EVEN PUT OIL BACK INTO MY ENGINE. Was offered and refund of the money spent on the "oil change" with nothing further and was made to feel that I should have known right away that they didnt do their job. Strongly advise against this place - They tried to charge me $1100 for replacing a fuel pump. The part was $250 at Autozone and labor for the same repair at another shop was $300, so I know they were trying to charge twice as much as what it should have been. I will never go back, and strongly recommend not going to this establishment. i went in for a coolant flush. as my car was being pulled into the bay, i was standing on the side watching. the guy stepped out of my car and went straight to the office. as i was standing near my car i smelled something burnt so i went to check if something is burning under my hood. suddenly the same guy who pulled in my car came out from the store and came yelling like to a 6 year old boy (i'm 45) to stay away from the car. i was pissed because he could have came up to me and asked me nicely to stay away from my car, we were just about 3 cars apart. i went in the store and confronted the manager of how ill-mannered his sidekick was ( i learned that the guy happens to be one of the owners of the shop which led me to believed that its the manager (mike) son or something. the douchebag eventually came in and "apologized" and i accepted his apology. i thought everything was ok then... so we parted ways and little you know after driving 8 miles my tire pressure dropped, so i went to air up and continue to head home. early next morning as we were about to go to our doctor's appointed, guess what... my tire was dead flat and so went to a tire service nearby my apartment and the guy who worked on it said that it seems to him that the tire was intentionaly poked. i would never go back to midas e tropicana. the last time i went there for a oil change, they told me i have to change my battery, water pump, thermostat, coolant flush (just imagine how much it cost $$$$). they gonna rob you if you dont say no. so stay away from this place. read more

i received a flyer on my door and took my car for an oil change special that they are running for $21.99 but forgot the coupon and they still gave me the offer. great service and great customer service. they are not like jiffy lube who try to confuse you and over charge you. i highly recommend this facility. very honest people. read more
