I began to hear the squealing from my breaks. I knew my front pads were due for service. Called the Toyota Dealership just to get an idea on cost - they quoted me $250-280 parts and labor. Yikes! I then called Albert at Midas, he quoted me $135!!! Service was fast, considering my dealer wait times. It took approx 30min to get my truck on the post car lift. Another 60 minutes for labor. They will drive your vehicle around the block, before and after service. Here is the thing... do yourself a favor and youtube videos on potential car service. Develop an idea of whats entailed regarding the service you might need, ie., break pads, rotors, etc. I was recommended additional work, which i did not mind tooo much, they are running a business - but i kindly declined. I knew i only needed front brake pads and that is all i got. However, I decline to give the additional star because the recommendations for extra work were sooo blatantly nonessential they made my eyes roll, shake my head and think... really dude? In any case, very happy to recommend this place to anyone. As with everything - do some homework and be informed about your potential car service. Empowered customers pays less. I'm a regular customer at this Midas. Albert ,the manager, always gives me a discount and appreciates my business. Hes honest and fair. You go in for an oil change, you get an oil change unlike some businesses that always show you some new repair they have to do. Sometimes Albert will tell me I need new tires or some other fluid but he always says youve got time just come back in a couple months. Once Albert actually said Costco has really cheap tires which made me laugh but that's why I know I can always trust him. He reset the program and did not charge me. His prices were always lower than other estimates I got. I had changed brakes for Audi Q7 and Honda Accord. Fair, Honest and Accommodating! I was recently on my way from Newport Beach to Mammoth Mountain and my check engine light came on, electrical warning light and I was losing power on my 2011 Jeep Wrangler. I as running late and knew that the Jeep dealership would take hours if they could even get me in that day and what ever the problem was, it would most likely be expensive and I would have to rent a car to make my trip. I stopped in the Autozone auto parts store hoping maybe it was a battery issue. They checked and couldn't find a problem or reason why it was acting up. The manager suggested I go to Midas, the owner was a great guy who would be very reasonable too. I went to Midas Auto Service and he (Albert), not only moved me in front of other cars that were already in the bays getting repairs, he pulled a mechanic off another job, diagnosed my problem and assured me it wasn't a major issue and they could have it fixed in 30-45 minutes, he made numerous calls and found the part (accelerator sensor). I was shocked that he was so easy to deal with, honest and very fair on the price. I made my trip, had a great time and my Jeep was fixed correctly, very quickly and at a fraction of what a dealer would have charged. Dishonest service try to scam a customer. I had a passenger rear tire flat and told them to replace it. I had 2 brand new falken in the front they replaced the front instead of rear. I came in with my Honda for brakes they were making a horrible noise. I called the shop before going and Albert told me to come right in. Once I got to the shop they took my car in right away and checked it. After they checked my car they brought me into the shop and showed me what was wrong. I was expecting the worse but Albert explained to me that it wasn't as bad as I thought and all I needed were brake pads. They are very honest here and they will tell you only what your car needs. Ok, so this review is LONG overdue and I apologize to the owner Albert (I believe he is the owner). I came in in mid-February (2017) because I needed oil and stopped at an O'Reilly's nearby to purchase the LARGE bottle of oil which has several quarts in it. I use like 3/4 of that sucker and poured away without thinking twice...ok, fine, I thought about it twice, ignored it, and kept pouring because I knew it was super empty, and it just wasn't "filling up." Well, after I second guessed a second time, I checked the dip stick and it was too much! I called Triple A, and the closest Triple A approved place they had which offered me a small discount (like $3) was 7 miles away. Midas was 2 blocks away, and although it wasn't offered with Triple A as giving me a discount if I went to Midas for services, the 7 miles with the tow truck and the extra time were definitely not worth it. I called and Albert answered. He was straightforward with me and gave me all my answers about price, approximate time to complete the work, and how soon he could start, which was right away. I brought it to him and couldn't be happier. He drained it, and replaced my disgusting old black oil that got mixed in with the fresh Castrol i just poured in, and gave my baby Frankie (the name of my Mini Cooper hehe) a rejuvenating oil change and fast! I told him I had somewhere to be (Apple Valley) and had to jam there asap to beat traffic. Albert had his mechanic Carlos do the job. Carlos was a nice man, who showed me what he was doing, and asked me what I preferred to do (since I initially said I wanted the same oil back in there...but when I saw how black it still was being mixed with the fresh stuff I had just poured in, then I told him to go ahead and replace it. It wasn't worth trying to save the $30 I just spent on oil at O'Reillys.) In the end, Albert was prompt, honest, and communicative and understanding that I was a student. I appreciated his services and will remember his establishment for when I might ONE DAY be driving through that same area. Otherwise, I highly recommend to everyone else! A no-bullshit kind of place...now, isn't that what we'd all like, everywhere? :) Thanks Albert and Carlos! read more
