My car just needed an oil change. So I went in to have the oil changed. I left a great review after because the manager or whoever the Mexican guy who helped me was named, he comped my oil change for free because of the shuttle delays/ issues that I had with them. I was and still am grateful however I should of took my car elsewhere. Less than a week later the oil light came on and told me to "add one liter or oil". This usually only happens when I need another oil change or just gets below. I took my car into another gentleman that my dad refereed and I was shocked at what he told me. He said my oil was leaking (shown marks all over my driveway form the leakage and down the street), that they did not change the oil, that the caps were all loose and some needed to even be replaced. That basically everything they did was nothing. I really trusted Midas and I'll never take my car their again. I mean I could of had or maybe still even have major mechanical problems from their lack and negligence of handling my vehicle on top of their horrible shuttle service. Go somewhere else. This Midas service Center is by far the most courteous, conscientious, helpful, and talented I have ever come across! This is absolutely the only place I'll ever go to again. Armando Yasin, the manager of the day (heck, the manager of the year!) personally invested his time in resolving my problem with my car and did so with a smile and an eagerness to help. Had my 2 kids and had to pick up my 3rd from school and they just smirked and laughed when I was frustrated cause they blocked me in. You have grown men acting like immature kids working here. If you want to waste your time this is the perfect day to go. Twice now i have gone there and have had horrible service. Once i went and dropped my card off at 8am with an appointment and said i would be back at 12pm to pick it up. I call them before i go back at 12pm and they told me they haven't finished it yet. I told that fine i will be in after work at 5pm to pick it up. I get there to pick it up and they tell me that they couldn't get to my car. I take my car there again today 4/12 with an 830am appointment and yet I'm still waiting for the oil change to get done at 1030am. Complete waste of time. Never will i come back to this place. Bad bad bad. I had some major work done there, because I just didn't know how bad their reputation is. Not only did they have my car for a couple of WEEKS for repairs they estimated to take 2 days but they also ended up charging me much more than the signed estimate. To smooth over the charges above and beyond what I agreed to, they offered that I come in for a free oil change after a thousand miles. A nice gesture so I took them up on it. Get THIS. Oil change done, I drive thousands of miles around the western US. When I go to have my next oil change (different business) they tell me they can't because I don't have a dipstick. I look at what they are talking about... SOMEONE AT MIDAS WADDED UP PAPER TOWEL AND PUT IT WHERE MY DIPSTICK SHOULD BE. I understand that mistakes happen, you lost the dipstick big deal. But TELL ME, don't let me drive around until I have to discover your mistake and pay to fix it. I keep meticulous records on everything that goes on with my car. I verified that Midas was the last business under the hood prior to discovering the paper towel in the dipstick slot. If they are going to be that shifty over an innocent error, what are the extremes that they are willing to go to? I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS AT ALL!!!!! read more

I am fairly new to this area so I had no idea where to go. Called a few places and came upon Midas in Seaside. From the start of the phone call to in person assistance they have been honest and direct with me to knowledge me what needed to be done with my car. Then had more issues weeks later after my maintenance check up, my truck stopped working. The guys fixed it within few hours and ran diagnostic testing to find out I needed some parts to replace. Standing in line and they are lookin straight through me. Girl in front of me in line was quoted 174 dollars for a battery for a Hyundai, and 34 bux for each windshield wiper. I could have changed my own oil 5 times in the amount of time it took them to change it once. Will not return here. 1.5 hrs for an oil change is unacceptable. I honestly cannot say enough good things about my Midas experience! I called and asked if they may be able to just take a look at my brakes as I was about to travel to Florida, and they seemed a little "off." Edward was so kind and told me come on in and they'd sqeeze me in! I got there and Jose & Edward advised me that my brakes were SHOT! And my tires too, for that matter. This honestly made total sense because both the brakes and tires had never been changed and I have 75k miles on my car, lol. Jose was so amazing! He was quick and efficient in fixing up my brakes + my tires! He even shined my tires up for me :) Jose and Edward took the time to explain to me how to maintain the life of my tires and adviswd me what to expect while breaking in these new brakes! Even Brad and Marjorie, who drove me to and from my hotel while my car was being serviced (yep, Midas has a courtesy shuttle) were awesome! Brad is a veteran, thank you for your service! And Marjorie is a hooot! I laughed so hard riding with her. I would advise this shop to anyone for any car service! Every employee I saw there seemed to be very patient, friendly and truly care about the customers they helped. My first interaction was with Jim he was very friendly and accommodating. He was up front with me saying they were really busy and may not have the car ready to the end of the day. Not the case at all. It was done mid day. I thought it was a problem with the AC but apparently I acquired a critter which had to be removed and cleaned. They didn't charge me for the diagnostic test. They even let me request who worked on my car. I was referred to Ivan by a trustworthy source and even though we didn't actually meet I'm very pleased with my service from both of these individuals. I was kept up to date on the progress of my car and when all was said and done they did not gouge me. I will be bringing my business back to them. Trust the Midas Touch. We take care of everything, is the slogan for this beautiful establishment. Drove up from Long Beach up to Big Sur for a weekend getaway with the mister. We knew there would be some rain but we were unaware of the storm that we would be driving thru. Needless to say the road conditions were less than perfect and Mother Nature was mad as hell . We ran over a small fist sized rock that led to a slow leak on tire. Got our spare on and took lodging overnight to ride out the storm. AAA recommended that we go to Midas for a new tire. Called immediately and Vincent, the hero who saved our vacation was not only helpful, courteous and informative, he was reassuring about our situation. They didn't have the tire in stock but Vincent called and ordered the specific tire we needed from San Jose. He told me the pricing, and told me how long it would take. When we arrived Vincent welcomed me by name. I found that to be special since he knew the make and model of my vehicle. There was hot coffee and tons of gossip magazines to read while I wait (a guilty pleasure while on vacation) They checked out the other tires and sent us on our way in no time. I know that Vincent was just doing his job, but he truly went "Above and Beyond" . As someone in the field of customer service all my life, you learn to appreciate those who take pride in their work and the level of sincerity they bestow upon their customers. Definitely and honest place that does right by the customer, I can personally say that Vince took very good care of me and I've had great dealings with Kelvin as well. I had a seal replaced on my transmission by them, shortly thereafter it was leaking again. They apologized for the inconvenience and ordered a replacement seal, the work to be done free. I was kind of bummed to have to come back but things happen right? This time they inspected closer and determined that there was a bushing worn in the transmission, Vince searched and found a technical service bulletin from Ford showing they should do the work for free and replace the seal. The Ford dealer whom I just had it into and mentioned this problem with told me to replace the transmission and charged me $100 to tell me that, I"m quite confident the shavings in the tranmission were coming from that bushing. I've driven it 35,000 miles since with no issues. I had also recently had the vehicle in there for other recalls and mentioned the bad seal, the dealer said nothing about the TSB. I trust these guys, they did some extra work at no cost for something that was not their fault, then went further and helped me get it repaired for free by the dealer. read more

Some of my friends and I have had similar and equally bad experiences here. Let me start by saying that although Midas is a company owned store the manager's bonus pay and to a certain extent his whole salary is based on sales. Therefore it is possible, and in fact likely, that services will come recommended that are not necessary. My girlfriend took her 5 year old Yukon in for an oil change and they told her if she didn't have $1000 worth of work done the car would be a road hazard. Took it to the dealership and they inflated a couple of tires and said it was fine...WOW. I dropped my truck off for an oil change at 10 AM on a Friday morning. They told me it would be done by lunch. I ended up not getting back my truck until the next day as the manager kept feeding me lame excuse after lame excuse. Why bother? read more

I did not feel welcome with the Midas touch when a man who had bright red eyes tells me this, as well as giving off no humane reaction when I obviously didn't like the price. Go next door at A1 where the diagnosis is 80$. I talked to a man named Muhammad who explained all the mechanical details with a friendly tone and smile. Ripped me off! I believe they have taken complete advantage of me being a female who knows nothing in regards to mechanics. My car overheated on my way to work last year. I brought it into Midas & I was charged an arm & a leg for diagnostics, then I was told my thermostat needed to be replaced. I trusted their professional opinion so I paid and had the work done. Shortly after my car overheated once more. I took it to another local mechanic and was told my head gasket cracked and I was lucky it didn't blow. I told this mechanic that I had gone to Midas just recently & explained what they had diagnosed & "repaired". The mechanic then told me that not only was I high balled for the thermostat but that they should have caught the head gasket since it overheated. I will never go to any Midas again & will not recommend them in any positive light. read more

These guys were awesome. Jim provided great customer service, and Richard took care of my car. I caught a near-flat on a road trip to Monterey (the cords on my tire we're starting to come through) and despite arriving at 4pm on a Saturday, they had me back on the road in less than 24 hours. They also correctly diagnosed the bad control arm bushing that had been causing the tire wear. Can't say enough good things about them. Friendly efficient and honest. I always enjoy taking my car to Midas. I used to think otherwise, I thought it was a corporate place that hired people that would screw up. Hey guess what. Anyone can screw up, corporate places like Midas can back up a guarantee and not make it feel like it's your fault. I came in because my car seemed to have a dead battery. I'm rating this Midas a 5 star for the service that I received from the owner, Charly, resolving a customer service issue. Truthfully, my initial encounter with this shop was less than pleasing. I paid a lot of money and the car problem was not fixed at that time. I contacted Charly about this right away, but being that I live an hour and a half from his location (in San Jose) he encouraged me to take it to a local shop and he would "take care of it" for me, and take care of it for me he did!! My car was in and out of the shop for a month! It was a terrible hassle. More and more money was put into it, but not by me, by Charly. When he said he would take care of the issue for me and would ensure that I got my car back on the road safely, he meant it! Charly was so genuinely concerned for my satisfaction as a customer that he allowed me to even call his cell phone on the weekends if I needed to contact him with any concern! To wrap up a long story, Charly completely understood my perspective as an unhappy customer, which I greatly appreciated. He was not about to give excuses about anything or try to save himself some money by pushing me around. He was very humble and pointed out where his shop can work on improving. Not once did he challenge me or make me feel inferior. At the end of the day, the customer service he provided resolved in a very happy customer. I am completely done with this place! After waiting almost 3 hours for an oil change/break check (with an appointment) I noticed a strange noise when I drove off the lot. I pulled over and realized that these schmucks did not even tighten the lug nuts on the wheels when they rotated the tires. They were so loose some were just hanging off the end of the boot. I have never been to any shop where they neglected to do a simple job like tighten up the lug nuts. Thankfully I stopped and check before driving onto the freeway with my child in the car. I could have gotten into a terrible accident. This place does a piss poor job and what they did was unacceptable. I will never take my car here again. I have been going here for years for small jobs/oil changes and the quality has really gone down. read more

Quality service for a competitive price. Had a coupon for 29.95 oil change, tire rotation, and fluid fill. Normal would be 34.99. Get in there as early as possible, i.e. 730 when they open, because they fill up fast. Scheduled an 8am appointment, got there at 730, was done by 845. The workers were extremely nice and helpful with everything I needed. I was out in and out in about an hour, which was no big deal because there's a Starbucks 2 buildings down and they offer to drive you somewhere while you're waiting. The estimates of the car inspection were honest, to the point, and offered to fix the one thing they found (cracked belt) that same day. I will be going back. :) read more

I haven't received the same poor service that other Yelpers have listed here. I got a great deal on a battery and the wait time to install it was about half an hour or so. I checked other prices in town and it was more expensive to get one from the auto parts store. And I don't like working on my car if I don't have to. I had a follow up phone call the next day about the customer service received and a second follow up phone call almost 2 months later which was a little over kill but hey, at least they pride themselves on providing good customer service. I stopped in today because my low tire pressure light had come on. I was greeted with a smile and my tire pressure issue was fixed at no cost within just a few minutes. After two failed attempts at Oil Can Henry's in Salinas to have this issue resolved, it was a big relief to finally get good customer service and to have the job done right. Great Service & Quick Delivery My wife & I had driven down and were visiting the Monterey, Carmel area for a Get-Away-Weekend and enjoyed a lovely day on Saturday taking the 17-Mile tour. That night we went out for a lovely dinner @ Lopez Restaurante n Cantina, only to find that our Nissan Maxima wouldn't start/turn-over. I immediately suspected that it was the Starter having experienced this same sound/issue from another Maximum before. Called AAA and they towed us to MIDAS - Seaside, CA on Del Monte Blvd. Early the next morning (8:00am) I called Midas & spoke to Kelvin to let him know which car was on their lot and that the keys were in the Night Deposit Box. I described to him what I believed it to be, and he said he would get right on in. We walked over to the shop around 9:30am and Kelvin greeted us with a warm smile and firm handshake & gave us an estimate of aprox. $350 which is about market value. He then offered us a complementary ride back to our hotel and said the car should be ready before 3pm. By 1 o'clock in the afternoon Kelvin called us and said the car was ready and the price was just as he had quoted! Such welcomed good news!! I really want to complement how quickly Kelvin and his MIDAS Team were able to get the job done so quickly, especially on a Saturday, knowing that we were traveling. There were NO "Mystery Fixes" required that they came back to us on, and many of you travelers know what I mean! They were fair in pricing and honest with expectations! They deserve High marks in my book! read more

I came in today on Sunday because my wife new can had a tire that was low and wanted it fixed for her before she worked that night.When i came in at about 4:10 and asked if they could check the tires because the light came on in the car, the employee at the front desk disrespectfully said " you mean you don't know how put air in the tire?" I told him I know there is a nail or hole somewhere and I need it fixed. After they found the nail they said they could not fix it because they closed at 5. I used to fix my own tires and know it could be done by the time they closed. Plus they admitted they were slow all day and didn't have a lot of work. I will not be going back in yes I live here in Seaside. Okay I should've done this a long time ago. I did have the Maneger contact me and offer to fix the tire for the day after is incident. The Maneger was very apologetic and did say he spoke the his staff regarding this issue. He seemed genuinely sincere and would have given him Another chance. Unfortunately I hade already taken the car to another business to be repaired. One incident should not define a whole business. Hope this helps read more

Slow and bad service. Also waaayyyy overpriced. I got an Uber inspection but I needed new tires so they couldn't pass me. They wanted to charge me $385 for two tires I got for $223 elsewhere. Anyway, a 2 day fiasco later, I got the tires. I called Midas and they told me to come in whenever. I said I'll be there around 5:30. They said "ok." I get there at 5:30 and they say there's no one there that can help me. Come back tomorrow. It's annoying because I went through all of that and drove 40 mins to get there when I coulda been working. read more

I had come to this location after the terrible service I received at Goodyear in Seaside and I'm glad that I did. The mechanics at Goodyear said there was nothing wrong with my tire and even threatened to put a hole in my tire just so there could be one after I insisted and kept telling them that there was something wrong and it kept losing air. I came to Midas a week later because the tire began losing air again no matter how many times I filled it with air and they found a nail in my tire. Barely visible but that's what was keeping what little air it had in there and allowing it to escape slowly. The guys at Midas KNOW what they're doing and I am grateful. Mind you, they also fit me into the schedule without an appointment in the busiest hours of the afternoon. They also offer to have their personal driver driver you wherever you need to go while you're waiting for your vehicle. The guys at the desk were honest and upfront. In less than 2 hours, my car was finished. I went again a couple of weeks later to change out the rest of my tires because I was driving cross country. Again, the guys were awesome and even offered me a discount to save me some money. Both times, a couple of days after my car was serviced, Midas took the time to call me and thank me for choosing them and to check up on how my car was and if everything was working properly as it should. I appreciate that and if that's not great customer service then I don't know what is. The only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars is because I don't really give out 5 stars unless the place absolutely blows me away and also because I haven't been there enough times to establish that rating.
