It is very rare, far and few between that you find a car service center with integrity. This is one of them ... and, I've been to many, many, many. They work on domestics and imports. I have both. They have a top-notch team of senior mechanics who know their stuff and have integrity and honesty. KSBJ (the Christian radio station in Houston) is playing in the waiting area. Their staff are knowledgeable and treat their customers with respect. I took my car there today for the first time. They had me on a schedule. Expecting to stay for 2-3 hours, as I've experienced with other shops, I brought my laptop to get some work done. My car was taken straight in ... on schedule. I was out the door in 45 minutes. I got a phone call and never had a chance to open my laptop. Yes, it was minor work ... but, more than an oil change. Far better than a doctor's visit. I was on my way again and the noise problem that has been frustrating me for weeks was immediately diagnosed and fixed. There was no, 'by the way, you need to fix this also.' There were no hard pressure sales tactics. Just genuine, sincere and honest focus on the problem at hand. Far better than Christian Brothers where my cars have been mis-diagnosed and then they replaced something other than the problem on more than one occasion. read more

Tom the owner was so nice to me. They checked my brakes because I thought something was wrong with them. I forgot some paperwork and they were totally cool about it and invited me back the next day and were super understanding. I wish I could be more like Midas Men..all sweaty, hot, greasy and still manage to be totally adoring, polite gentlemen? Really? Women don't act like that..Women just act like super irritated bitches. IT truly is a man's world and I love every hot, sweaty, grimey minute of it. I can't wait to go back. I'm not sure if there has been an ownership change here recently or just some new faces. I've come here for years and dealt with the same guys. Always good service, Christian run, nice competent people. Lately I've been dealing with someone different who is not customer oriented, friendly, or competent. My last visit was for a water pump that was going out. It was misdiagnosed as a belt which caused me to make a frustrating return trip. They ultimately made it right after I dealt with my previous guy. Today I was told it would be several hours to wait on an inspection (by the new guy). No apologies or attempt to see what they could do. Very unpleasant and a little rude frankly. I will be searching for a new go to place for my car needs. read more

Don't wast your time, money, or ruin your day by going here !!! Tom is Absolutely RUDE !!!! Speaks to you rudely, had a horrible negative tone and outlook while talking to you, and obviously needs to find a new line of work that has nothing to do with the customer service industry!!! My husband and I were referred there by Discount tire to have a wheel stud replaced that had broken when we went to have our tires rotated and balanced We called as we were leaving Discount Tire to see when we could have it repaired by Midas, knowing it would at least be the next day since it was already 4:30 that evening. They said nothing about having to make an appointment two days out to get the repair when we spoke to them on the phone. Went there the next day and was informed of this by JT. He said that this was the usual timeframe when dealing with customers that were sent from Discount tire because of the procedure it took to get the parts ordered in that they would need and the billing process to Discount. My husband asked if he went and picked up a wheel stud and brought it to them would there be any way they could get it in that afternoon. This is when Tom walked up from out of his office and began telling us that there was just no way of knowing how long it would take and what all would be involved ... ect ect ect ... my husband asked if he could walk out and take a look at it and he did, while the whole time arguing with my husband and disputing everything he was saying. Tom had a HORRIBLE attitude and even worse customer service skills, he acted like he was completely inconvenienced to have to do the repair and kept saying how long and involved it was going to be to drill the one stud out and replace it, 3-4 hours at least even with my husband getting the part, and that they wouldn't be responsible for any damage to the wheel because of the tiny amount of space they had to work. TOM WAS RUDE, ACTED INCONVENIENCED TO DO THE JOB, REPEATEDLY TALKED OVER MY HUSBAND WHEN HE WAS SPEAKING, AND INSISTED THAT THIS REPAIR COULDN'T BE HANDLED FOR AT LEAST THREE DAYS, AND WOULD TAKE ALL DAY OF US LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITH THEM TO COMPLETE THE JOB, AND IF THERE WERE ANY DAMAGES THEY WERE NO RESPONSIBLE !!! Very good communication prior to doing the work. No up-sell and no surprises while the work was being done. Speedy service. Quality work. Fair price. But most of all, I don't feel like they were trying to do a bunch more work than was necessary. As it turned out, I needed to replace a marginal brake caliper after their first pass (it overheated on the way home). They allowed me to use a third party caliper and they replaced it promptly at a very fair price. I hate it when a shop hits you with all sorts of "surprise" expenses and/or they try to get you to perform "just in case" improvements. I got none of that from this shop, and it was a great experience for that reason. While I waited, I saw the owner and his son send two customers away with no charge. In one case they told the customer she didn't need to do the state inspection at this time because Texas rules had changed; they could have easily done the inspection as she requested and taken her money even though she didn't need to do it. In the other case, they referred a customer to Discount Tire because they felt like Discount Tire could better handle her situation. So I guess they get enough honest income they don't need to take money from customers just because they can. read more

I live in the Woodfarm neighborhood so it's a few blocks to Midas to see Tom and his awesome crew! I'd been grinding on my brakes with a car that's truly the glue that keeps my family together. That car gets me back and forth from the Galleria (from the Woodlands) to our jobs twice a day! I knew riding metal to metal might've been scaring up my rotors but I was at the mercy of whatever work needed to be done to fix my negligence! I was priced by a local shop at almost $600 for brakes so I waited for the estimate (from my new friend Tom) with dread! Tom called with a price that was $300 less than his competitor - treated me like a valued customer and didn't do unnecessary repairs! I even added in the alignment because he came in so under budget! Living paycheck to paycheck at our age means savings like this are tangible! Later that day I was able to afford medical care for one of my animals because of their low cost but high quality repair! Midas did a great job diagnosing what was wrong with my car immediately and getting me in and out within 30 minutes. I had gotten my oil changed at Jiffy Lube next door, and my Check Engine light came on. Jiffy Lube couldn't figure out the problem. Midas realized Jiffy Lube had knocked off a connection to my air intake meter, which caused the Check Engine light to come on. Thanks for all the help, Midas! Stay away! I had them do a wheel alignment and oil change. When they finished, I was leaving the parking lot, a young employee in another customer's car, backed out of a service bay and hit me. The manager ran out and said he saw the whole thing and was at fault. My son had dropped me off and was waiting to follow me. My son actually did see the whole thing and it was definately the kid's fault. The manager said it was private property and It was my word against his and we should both pay for our own vehicle. They don't have some stand behind when a vehicle is backing out, like reputable places do. Don't go here! read more

This location has been great. They helped me with a worn oil pan bolt and only charged me the price of an oil change. Another time my wife's car had a leak with the AC. Took the car to two dealerships and they couldn't figure it out without charging us to dismantle everything. Tom was able to identify the problem and even recommend a specialist which really helped. I needed an alignment. I was recommended Midas by another local business. I dropped off my vehicle and was told they would contact me when they get the vehicle inspected. But it's going to be a while since there are 3 other vehicles in the alignment bay ahead of me. So when I get home 15 minutes after I dropped off the vehicle my phone rang... Midas already looked at my vehicle and I have worn parts and they need to be replaced before they can do the alignment. The price for the alignment was 69$. To replace the worn parts 540$ = $600 for the total job. This took me by surprise and seemed very high. So I decided to get a second opinion. So when I went to get pick up my car. Do not go here! Owner is rude and intimidating. They did not fix the problem with my car and I am not surprised because they did not even drive or diagnose it. I immediately went back to tell someone and they drove it with me and said the reason why the steering wheel was wobbling was because it was correcting itself. I brought it back the next day and the owner drove it and he said he thought the wobbling was not that bad and said it was an old car (2010 MDX) and that was to be expected. He drove my car fast and it made me feel uneasy. He also yelled at me as he was explaining the services he performed. It was very unprofessional and rude . He said that he didn't want to waste any more time on me and decided to give me my money back. I said that would be fine. He was still in the drivers seat and my door was open so he said close your door and I'll drive around front.
