My husband and I were on a weekend trip to visit our friends that we haven't seen in awhile. While traveling the car started acting up and I knew I had to get off the freeway. We called shop after shop and couldn't find anyone that had an opening for us on a Friday. I called Midas Muffler and They said to come in and they would squeeze Us in in a couple of hours. While we were there we realized it was going to take awhile to get the car fixed and we didn't want to miss out on visiting our friends so we w back till Sunday. You'll never find an auto repair shop as clean, organized and professional as this. The Kindness and courtesy they showed me was a new high in auto care. Their knowledge and accuracy in get things done in a quick manner was amazing. That's the good news and better news is their prices are fair and they are very thorough in their inspection. I do not want leave an auto repair shop find out the next day there is problem that they missed. I read the other reviews and I've got to say the reason you have to wait a bit longer is because it is a good repair shop. If you go to a lousy repair shop you can get out in about a half an hour. I had originally posted a great review for this Midas as we had always gotten great service there. Have been going there for over 6 years with multiple cars and they were always very fast and fair. Unfortunately, there is a new owner now and the service has gone way downhill. My husband and I took in our car for brakes, we knew that the rotors would need to be replaced and it would be $1000+ which was fine. We dropped off the car on Saturday morning and had an event to go to that night, Midas said the car would be ready in a few hours but it wasn't so we asked to leave the car overnight and get it in the morning. That was fine and we paid for the brakes over the phone. The next morning we picked up the car and it was making a strange noise, we assumed it was the brakes being broken in and didn't think too much of it. The sound progressively got worse until there came a jack hammer like sound and we had to take the car back to Midas. We were told it was the emergency brake system and we must have driven with the e brake on and the repair would be $460. This is impossible in our car as it has a very loud, annoying audible warning when you try to drive with the e brake engaged. There was a lot of arguing between my husband and the assistant manager Shawn, we insisted on speaking with the owner. Over a weeks time there were multiple phone calls back and forth, we had been forced to pay Midas to do the repair and wanted our money back. They finally agreed to give us back $400. We got that refund but I was still mad so contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair, they found in our favor, the representative even came to my work to hear the warning beep when the e brake was engaged because Shawn at Midas had told them we were lying about having that feature. In the end the BAR rep found in our favor, Midas had to refund the additional $60 and we will NEVER deal with them again. read more

These guys were super helpful to me. I work nearby and had a very short lunch break. I'd been having issues with my check tire light going on and off, and I couldn't find my stupid pressure gauge and when I went to the gas station the air pump at 2 different stations was broken! I was rushed and frustrated so I walked into Midas with no appointment and asked for help. They checked my tires (which were all low) filled them on the spot and didn't charge. It took only minutes. It might seem like a small thing, but it made my day! So rare that people just take the time to help you out like that. I will definitely go back when I need a service now. read more

I told my friend to come here for her service since I use the one in Napa and she was so shocked how detailed and pleasant all the staff was and took excellent care of her car. It cost a little more than the drive through oil place she goes to but she learned a lot about what her little SUV needs, she was not aware everything the other place was not telling her. Bottomline...They took almost two hours to do an oil change. That is the main reason they get two stars. There was no one there when I arrived for my appointment so they were not busy. In fact another person came in 15 minutes after me but for some reason they finished her oil change before mines. However I would give them two stars for having a clean waiting area and for thoroughly inspecting my car. If you want a quick in and out oil change this is not the place. read more

Unfortunately I have to update my review based on my last experience. If the situation gets resolved accordingly I will gladly update my rating. However, based on how long this situation has been going on and the lack of effort to contact me to resolve this situation, I feel my updated rating is just. Update as of 4/9/2018... The manager as well as the owner of the Vacaville Midas have dropped all communication with me regarding my latest experience. Long story short, my custom wheels were damaged when I had some tires mounted and balanced back in February. The manager of the shop said that he would contact the owner to file a claim so that my wheels could be repaired. I waited a month and didn't hear back from either the manager of the store or the owner. I thought I had a good relationship with the manager (followed him from his previous store to Midas)of the store but apparently not because he blocked me from his Instagram account as well as ignored all of my texts regarding the situation. I finally was able to get in contact with the store owner and he said to email him pictures and he would get back to me. NO EMAIL REPLY WHATSOEVER! He also told me that Midas isn't responsible for any damage related to R&R (Removal and Replacement I'm assuming) during wheel/tire service.....FOR REAL?!?' So they can damage your wheels and not be responsible? I will be taking this up with corporate. In the meantime, be careful when having your car serviced at this location because apparently they aren't responsible for any damage done to your vehicle. read more

Took car in to get repaired owner claimed that there was rodent damage and would be 1000-7000 to fix or I could sell the car to him for 500 when the value of the car was worth thousands more. Once insurance was involved they didn't give any updates or care to fix the car. Took it to a different shop to find out there was no rodent damage and the car runs fine. Never using Midas again. Beware!! Needed motor mount replacement. So decided to go in since it looked empty thought I could get in and out with estimate possibly get the work done. One tech was pretty cool but the other treated me as if I didn't know what I needed and tried everything to not look at car saying if it's not this you'll want your money back. When I assured him it was the motor mount and the mechanic reaffirmed it. He proceeded to give me an estimate of $1000! When I asked if I could bring my own parts I was told his were better mine might be too stiff!? Yea okay! So needless to say I took my business elsewhere! So glad I did. Was able to get my own parts for $110 then went to Auto Repair Solutions where I was treated with great customer service. In the end I payed a fraction of the cost now I'm riding with a smile! We don't live in Vacaville, but if we did, I'd sure give them my ongoing business. We were on a long drive from Oregon to the Bay Area, on the road almost continuously for 8 hours. We pulled off in Vacaville for a quick stop. I noticed a metallic scraping sound emitting from my brakes - much louder than your typical disk brake warning sensors (when the pads are worn), and since there was a Midas 1/2 mile away, I decided to have them check it out before proceeding further - didn't want to be stuck on a freeway shoulder 20 miles down the road... The lady working the counter was pleasant and agreed to work me in quickly for a brake inspection, estimating 45 min. I spoke to the mechanic, explaining that I just wanted to see if the vehicle was safe enough to get back home without a safety concern. He quickly popped off all 4 wheels, inspected the brake system, and told me that one of the rear brakes was worn with a new rotor needed soon, but that I'd be able to get it home safely and repair it at my convenience. The louder than normal screeching was probably due to heat build up from prolonged driving. All told, we were done in 20 minutes, and the brake inspection was free of charge. Good service needs to be rewarded, so I encourage others to give this establishment a try. They seem like an honest, service-minded business - a seeming rarity in the auto repair business. read more

MARK YOUR TIRES! The first time I came in for an oil change, I requested a tire rotation as well. When I got the car back, the paperwork had "Tire Rotation" checked off but when I looked at my tired, I felt like they did not get rotated. I can't say for sure whether or not they were, but it didn't look like the touched them. Fast forward to my next oil change, I again requested a tire rotation, but this time I marked my tires. When I got the paperwork back, they checked that they had rotated the tires but sure enough, the marks were in the same place. Tires didn't get rotated. I asked the guy at the counter if they rotated the tired and he yelled into the shop "Hey did you guys rotate the tires on that Ford?" "yeah yeah we did" they said. Nope. Once I confronted the guy at the counter with my information about marking the tires, he apologized and gave me a free future oil change. So I come BACK for my free oil change (I don't mention I have a free one when I made the appt) and have my tires marked again. Guess what happens for a third time in a row. Yep, requested a tire rotation, was charged for a tire rotation, but the tires weren't rotated. If they are scamming on this then what else are they scamming on? Don't trust this shop. Go elsewhere that is reputable. read more

I got four tires and alignment for pretty good price . I compared their price with Costco, Big-O Tires, and other places but nobody can beat their price in Vacaville and Fairfield area. Not only they saved me money but their service is unbeatable. The new owner was very nice and helpful. Their staff was very friendly and professional and services my car in a very timely fashion. We took our Malibu in for a exhust leak. We called a day in advanced and upon our agreed upon time we where told we were late and that we are to just leave the keys and they will look at our car the next day. So we did as told. They called my husband the next day to tell us the hourly was only going to cost about $300. Not to bad, however the part is going to cost $2000! I called the dealership to find out the most the part would cost is $160. We got over, got our car made plans for the dealership to fix. Never will I come here ever again! read more
