I used to go to the Midas in Concord but since we moved to WC, I decided to give the place a try and it was not pleasant. this place is ONLY good for oil change and neglect your problem. when I checked in my car for oilchange, I told the lady in the frontdesk that one of my tire is not holding up air and I told her I wanted them to check and get it fixed right away. But when I went to pick up my car, she told me they checked and theres nothing wrong with my tire. I asked her again, she said it needs to be dunked to see if theres any holes. But what i don't understand is that I asked you to check my tire and fix it because I know somethings wrong, why wouldn't you dunk it on the first place? Or ask me if i want to get it dunked?? You can't do a half ass job?? I ASKED YOU TO FIX!? Is it because you were about to close and didn't want to do the extra work?? so I went home but on the way home the tire almost went flat again. Never coming back. I will do the extra drive and stick to the Concord Midas. read more

This is a so so place. I don't agree with things that they say "you need to fix". I simply came for an oil change the sign outside says $49.99 but now for my car it's $79.99. (What can I do) After waiting for over an hour- they came back to me saying that I needed a new battery, spark plugs and tires... (Mind you I just bought tires less than a year ago-) I don't know if everything that they say is true. I have a fairly new car that I take to total care of. And to have all this done to my car they told be it would be like $882. They are crazy. I ended up only getting my oil change. The prices that they offer are crazy high. read more

Condescending, woman-hating trump lovers. If I could give negative stars I would. Beware of this place! I requested that they not vacuum out my car first to the "helper" guy whom needed an explanation on a "push button start" then to the owner/manager who assured me they wouldn't touch my stuff (I had my gym clothes and other personal items like money, medication, jewelry on the passenger side). When I told him I'd just take a moment and clean up my mess he brushed me off telling me not to worry, they wouldn't touch it. Then he shuffles me inside and says my Toyota requires the most expensive package and asks if I want my tires rotated. I ask if it's included as he says "he's not trying to nickel and dime" me and that it's included. He then says "he'll check" if it's needed. Um no! Im paying for it right?!? Then he quotes me 30-40 minutes... almost 90 minutes later I see my brand new car wide open with a dirty vacuum running. I just had surgery and my My medication is gone - $800 worth, I have no insurance . My toll $$ is gone, was on the seat. My underwear and socks are now on display where they were in a bag on the floor before. To top it off my tire plug is now missing (but they said it was already like that and within 3 seconds they had a replacement.)Amazing. This was all bad but not as bad as when I went in to explain to "manager" that I requested him not to clean my car several times as I'd been traveling and there were personal items. He said he knows but next time I could tell him differently, he then caught his condescending stupid remark and said "I know, I know you said it several times". Then the ultimate.... "if I'd had known you'd get so worked up we wouldn't have done it." No buddy, if I had a D$ck you wouldn't have done it, like I asked in the first place. read more

Tried to tell me my tire pressure light was my break light and I needed all new pads, rotors and sensors for $800. I went an hour and a half away to a family member who is a mechanic. Breaks have 70% left and there is a nail in the front tire causing the tire pressure light to be on. $40 later, I'm good to go. read more

Update -- 5/22/08 The manager of this shop contacted me after a communication of mine to the Midas comment line. I have to say he handled the situation with extreme professionalism and did replace all of the heat damaged components as I had expected the shop to do originally. He also took the time to inspect other components on my truck that he felt could have been damaged by the negligent emergency brake adjustment. It is unfortunate that I happened to have been at his shop on two of the very few days he was not there. He was away at a Midas conference and was very concerned when he returned and saw the letter I had placed with Midas. He stepped up, took responsibility and was going to make sure that things were made right, and he did. I now have all the new parts that I had left there with on that Monday, my brakes and parking brake work better than ever. If you deal with Rick you can feel confident that your work will get done correctly and you will come away a happy customer. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I had front and rear brake replacement completed; Front pads, resurface front rotors, rear pads, replace rear rotors, flush and refill brake fluid. Drove the vehicle 12 miles and found driver rear wheel smoking heavily from the brake severely overheating. I returned to Midas the next day, 5/20 dropping off vehicle in early bird service with complete description of the severe overheating issue. The shop diagnosed the problem to a lack of correct cleaning and adjustment of the emergency brake by one of their employees, which was due to pressure from their manager to get the job done. I expected the shop to replace the overheated parts as these are no longer new, which is what I paid for the previous day. Due to severe overheating I voiced concerns regarding life expectancy damage, warping of the rotor as well as the possibility of causing damage to my wheel bearings. Also, the new brake fluid could have reached extreme temperatures due to the overheating, which I feel should have been flushed since just the day before I was sold the idea that because my previous brake condition could have caused overheating, the fluid should be changed. Seems like the same logic would apply. The shop refused to do any of this replacement work stating that the overheating problem was not a big deal, they cleaned the items up, removed the glazing that had occurred and that should be good enough. I could have cleaned up some of my other old parts the previous day but chose to purchase new, so I expect new, not damaged due to Midas shop negligence. The shop did not want to document this situation and refused to create a receipt for me until I pressed the issue with escalation. The statement they made was that if there was ever a problem caused by this overheating they would remember it and work with me on it. Nope, a document will be required I stated until I received one. This shop created a very dangerous situation for me, my family and others around me. The management of this shop should be aware that speed to get the job done should not override the safety of a proper brake job, especially at a nationally known chain such as Midas. This could have quickly turned into an extremely dangerous and life threatening situation had I not seen the smoke in my mirror and was able to pull to the side of the road. All I expected today was for the shop to diagnose the problem, replace any parts effected by this heat i.e. rotors, pads, calipers, fluid so that I was back in the state I was in when I left the shop the previous day paying for all these new parts ($835) and a record of the issue in case it caused further damage to my wheel bearings or e-brake assembly that was not immediately visible. I received a diagnosis and a very non-descript note about hot brakes due to e-brake being out of adjustment. Definitely not a satisfactory customer experience. read more

We were visiting family and getting ready to hit the road again when we heard a grinding clicking sound coming from our front left tire. I've been meaning to get my oil changed for about a month now, and I havent had very many days off in awhile. I traveled all around Concord and Pleasant Hill, but everywhere I went it was a 3+ hr wait. I dont have any time for that. Took my chances and these guys took me in right away! Didn't take very long just avg. ~30min. All the guys were nice and ready to help! The only down side, and why I cant give it a 5 is that the waiting area has basically no ventilation. Its already a hot day and it makes it a little uncomfortable to wait in there. Aside from that i would reccommend this place to anyone! read more

I honestly don't know what to say about this place. I feel bad giving it two stars because the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They just need to fire whoever is putting these hubcaps on my car!!!! And if someone can't put hubcaps on right-- are they able to repair REAL problems with my car?? Here is my story: First time I go in--Extremely helpful. Did my oil change for 19.99$ and didn't try to rip me off. They told me my car was in great shape- gave me the exact measurements of my tires and brakes. They told me my filter was dirty and needed replacing, which they actually brought in and showed me. Then to top it off, they gave me a 15 dollar discount... Because I told them I was on a budget. So nice!!!! Quick, friendly, and honest. OK So here is where it turns bad. On my way home, one of my hubcaps fell off (they rotated my tires, so they had to take them off). I called, and let them know about it. They were super friendly and offered to replace it. GREAT right? They couldn't find a match so they just bought me all four hubcaps brand new. WOW, you think. What a great place! Yep, me too. So then I go back for the THIRD time since losing my hubcap to get my new ones put on. They put them on for me, they look pretty secure. I walk out with four new nice hubcaps. Somewhere in between going to work and coming home, ANOTHER ONE OF MY HUBCAPS FALLS OFF! I am pretty heated since this has just become a REALLY annoying hassle. I am not trying to rip them off or hassle anyone, but this is just ridiculous! Why can't you put the hubcap on right??? I don't get it! All I can say is-- they are very nice and friendly, but if they can't even put my hubcap on right, what kind of people do they have working here??? Cupcake bakers??? ARGH. My experience here was one of those that seems great at the time but as you start to notice details it quickly sours. On a positive note they got my car in and out far quicker than they quoted, which was almost a negative since had I known it would have been done so quickly I would have stayed and waited. But I won't hold it against them that they got the work done quickly. I will however consider it a negative that not all of my fluids were either checked and/or topped off. A few days after my service I tried to use my windshield wiper fluid, which I had known to be empty prior to the service, and lo and behold, it was *still* empty. Kind of makes me wonder what else was neglected...and maybe that's why they got done so quickly? Hmm... They also never replaced the little reminder sticker in the top left of the windshield. My car has a maintenance monitor system, so this isn't really a problem but simply shows a lack of attention to detail one would expect when you're paying $60+ for an oil change. read more

I brought my Pontiac in for an oil change last month, using a coupon. It was the first (and last!) time I've brought it to anyone other than a GM dealership in the 5 years I've been driving it. First off, I visited the Midas website as the coupon said to do that to make an appointment. I filled out the online form and their system told me to expect a call within an hour to confirm. Two days later, having received no call, I called to make an appointment,. I mentioned the website issue, and the response was, "Oh." Next, I went in for my early-morning appointment. I was told that it's be half an hour, so I waited. 90 minutes later, my car was done; they suggested replacing my license-plate light, so I did that too, for an extra $15. Late for my next appointment of the day, I drove off. I thought my engine sounded oddly loud. A couple miles down the road, their tech called me and asked me to come back because he'd just discovered that he'd left my air filter on a table. !!!! No wonder it was so noisy... Once I drove back in, the (manager?) asked me if there was a problem. So I told him why I was back. He threw the poor tech a very hairy eyeball. Air filter returned, I headed off for the last time. I told a friend about this, and she was stunned that I wasn't at least offered a complimentary return visit; as I told her, it wouldn't have mattered if they had offered it, because I won't be back. Incidentally, a week or so later, I received a phone call in the evening from some customer service rep asking me to complete a phone survey evaluating my experience. My answer: 1, for highly dissatisfied. She quickly ended the call when I explained WHY. read more

They were not responsible for the problem but actively managed the situation all in my favor even though my car was blocking a repair station for additional 3 days when waiting for a replacement part. And they did not charge any additional buck for it! On top of that convenience they were super professional, fast and friendly. I hate to admit my idiocy on such a public forum, but I bought a new hybrid, took it in there and told them to give me a standard oil change (I was such a dumbass I did not bother to read what oil my car took, it's first oil change and all). Fortunately, I did not have to pay for my oversight, because these guys had caught it. My car takes synthetic oil only, not standard... would have been a disaster if my goof would have been allowed to go through... but because these guys were on the job, lights on and all, I was able to avoid that mistake! Can't thank you enough... I will be back once my oil change is due later... Just had another exceptional experience at Midas today. Figured I wouldn't be able to get in on a Monday (the parking lot was packed with cars already and I had called last week for an appointment, but they were booked). I still tried anyway. :) One guy came out to talk to me and then my favorite owner, Carlo, came out from a car and asked me what I needed done. After explaining it was just a typical oil change but I knew they were busy and could come back later, Carlo told me they could take me right then. He even remembered me from months back and asked how my headlight was doing! How does this guy have such an incredible memory?! I thought I was good, but he puts me to shame! In any case, Lucas (my mechanic) pulls me out to explain things that need to be done fairly soon (which I'm already bracing for because it's been awhile since I've done major work to my car). He shows me wear on my tires and explains what can and cannot be done, via a change through Honda. Lucas also tells me my front brake pads are going to need replacement soon but still have a slight lifeline. I ask for an estimate to be done just so I can proceed with the tires next week (I doubted they could do it today anyway). Mary, at the front, made sure to hold the tires I need (they're last two) so I won't lose out on the estimate given (thank God, cos my last set of tires were ridiculously expensive). The entire team here is fantastic. And I was out the door in maybe 30 minutes...? I am SO thankful to know there are owners in this world who genuinely care about their customers/clients. I just wanted to thank Carlos and his crew for fixing my car on 6/6/13. Judging by the loud rattling sound it was making, I expected a sizable repair bill. They had to manufacture a piece of pipe for the exhaust system of my rusty, old Toyota and adjust the parking brake. They did it on time and charged me less than $100. I was so surprised I made another appointment for today, figuring further repairs would be necessary. That wasn't the case, it's running quiet as a church mouse. Way too many mistakes on simple fixes and maintenance services and the owner does nothing to remedy the poor performance even when offered the opportunity. Flat tires after tire rotations, dripping oil after oil changes and various other ridiculous goofs. I strongly suggest no one go here despite the cost unless you want to come back a few times for them to get it right. read more

I originally had my car brake pads and calipers replaced. From the time I walked in I was welcomed instantly. A few months later, my brakes were starting make strange noises. I called to let them what I was experiencing and was told to bring it in that day. I dropped it off and a few hours later my car was ready and had the pads replaced for free. I then later took my wife's car to have her ac system checked out because it was shaking the car as well as making noises. They ran a diagnostic and found the system was working and suspected that the timing was off. They recommended to go back to the repair shop that originally replaced the dizzy unit and have them re-inspect the timing which I did. That shop told me that there was nothing wrong with the timing and the dizzy can not be adjusted. I took her car back to Carlo and the Midas staff because he offered to personally check the timing himself. I took it in and he was able to adjust the timing and now the car is running awesome! I highly recommend this Midas to anybody who is looking for a quality repair shop with top notched customer service. Thank you Carlo for the extra time and service. Have not yet actually been a customer -- but I called during my state of shock after discovering my catalytic converter had been stolen from my 2004 Honda Accord, and reached Roger. He walked me through what might be involved, OEM vs. after-market equipment and prices, did some quick research, called me back with alternative estimate scenarios after only a short period, and told me a couple of additional data points he'd need to firm up the estimate -- but not just the typical "sales" job -- rather, seemed to be going an extra step. Later I reached my insurer, who had a different shop they wanted me to use, much closes to where the car was, so had to let Roger know. But, I would consider seeking service from this Midas shop based on solely on Roger's responsiveness. read more

The car service is good. Money well spent here. But, the customer service is not that great. The lady at the front desk can't even remember her customers, when you come back for collecting the car. Funny!! They have an option for appointments either by phone or email.They are supposed to get back within 24 hours. I send email & waited for 2 days & finally called by phone to get the appointment. We have been very fortunate to find such quality service from Sam, Rod and the rest of their team since moving from out of state. After taking the time to research the cost of mechanical work and general vehicle maintenance, we stumbled across the local shop. I initially made an appointment for my wife to bring her SUV in for an oil change. I was able to find a coupon online and told her to take the car in. She came home very grateful for the easy experience she had working with Sam at the initial drop off and pick up. I have since taken both of our cars back multiple times and my work car for multiple oil changes as well as brakes and service for my vehicles. I always leave feeling like I got my money's worth and my cars run great. The staff will always offer service but never pressure you in to anything, just advise you of what may be needed. Service is always quick and for an oil change they will have you in and out while you wait. Highly and gladly recommend. read more

MANY THANKS to the crew at Walnut Creek Midas (independently owned franchise) for FIXING THE MINSTAKES MADE BY CONCORD MIDAS the day prior. NOTE: Each Midas shop is independently owned so even though Walnut Creek Midas had no duty to fix the mess CONCORD MIDAS left me with, the Walnut Creek crew stepped up and saved our Easter vacation. After paying nearly $400 for 4 new tires and an alignment, we packed the car the next morning and hopped in to drive off for our Easter vacation ... but couldn't go anywhere because one of the BRAND NEW TIRES WAS FLAT. We had the flat tire inflated to get us to the Walnut Creek shop. Essentially, The Walnut Creek Midas informed us that CONCORD MIDAS had not replaced any of the 4 valve stems (despite my paying for new stems), the old stems were pinched and cracked, and the lug nuts were torqued so much that they Walnut Creek Midas had major trouble getting the wheels off to install the new stems that the Concord shop failed to replace. I heard that the Concord Midas is known for over-torqueing wheel lug nuts. And CONCORD MIDAS had also bent my rim so that the new tire leaked once all 4 valve stems had been replaced. The Walnut Creek Midas was able to bend the rim to improve the tire fit and put beading on the side of the tire so that we could drive off for our vacation. The bent rim (bent by Concord Midas) is costing me $382 to replace. After 2 hours and broken original lug nuts/locks, the Walnut Creek Midas had us on our way (thanks to Ryan the repair tech, Daniel the cashier, Rod the manager and Sam the owner). I appreciate that the Concord Midas covered the repairs done at the Walnut Creek Midas ... but the 2 hour delay definitely adversely impacted our vacation (we missed one activity and nearly missed some very expensive tickets for a second activity). Concord Midas needs to do the work you pay for and not over-torque the wheels nuts. read more

For not being a quick oil changing place, I appreciate this location. Being a girl, I thought the Manager/owner(?) was rough around the edges because he was up front about my vehicle. But he really helped me understand why the front fender splash guard thing was falling off on my car as well as offering a trust worthy oil change. Came I without an appt for an oil change but they said they were short staffed and an hour wait. I said thank you and left. They stopped me in the parking lot and said they work me in. They immediately brought my car in and the nut is stripped. They have been working on it and we been watching. They had to tact weld another nut to it to try to get it off. I feel so bad that they took me in and it's nothing but problems. Two men are now trying. It's super hot and they are still trying. They said not matter what I am leaving with my oil changed. FREE WI-FI!!! Friendly service with no unexpected surprises. I was greeted courteously, promptly, and informed of the services I requested, which was the High-Mileage Oil Change. Out the door, including tax, the cost for my changing my older car's oil was around $55.00, and the service included a tire rotation. In-n-out time was about 30 minutes, primarily because another vehicle was ahead of mine. The waiting room and restroom were clean. They had a good assortment of magazines. The technician showed/told me that my brake fluid would need to be changed in the future, but not now (I already knew this as I tested it myself last week).
