Great little restaurant with really tasty rolls and outstanding service. Not the cheapest place, but the quality is outstanding. Try the jalapeno crunch roll, so good! The only two low points are they love to put teriyaki sauce on everything (to a fault) and they never turn on the air conditioning. read more

I would label this an entry level experience. It has the look of a cafe, there are limited choices, the sushi rolls are ok, but nothing to write home about. Prices for roles and sushi are on par with a nice restaurant so, there is no deal here. But, the combo plates for teriyaki are reasonable. Just as I was about to order something really quick from Burger King ( located next to this place), Turned into the parking lot and saw Japanese Sushi signs and I quickly looked them up on yelp, they had decent reviews for being a little "hole in the wall" type of restaurant. I walked in and the spot was roomier than I imagined it to be from the outside, clean and comfortable setting Very friendly service and very fast! I got my order to me in less than 10 minutes As soon as I was seated I was brought out a complimentary miso soup and not like other spots this actually had quite a few bits of tofu & seaweed, it was hot and delicious! We love this place! The food is excellent and the service is always friendly. My kids really like their beef teriyaki bowls, they are reasonably priced considering how much food you get. The sushi is always fresh and better than other places I've been to. My husband and I sometimes customize the rolls on the menu by adding extra sushi on top and surprisingly they never give us attitude but are super accomodating and polite. Great prices, great service and a good assortment of choices. They usually have 3 roll on special every day. They offer a lot more baked items than other places, which my mom loves, but I do not. My dad doesn't like that they don't server alcohol. But for the most part, I've never had a bad experience here, just wish they offered more no rice rolls. read more

This place is family owned and run from what I see. The owner is very friendly. I enjoy the bento boxes ( salmon or chicken teriyaki) and their basic rolls. Don't expect top notch sushi since it's really more like a fast food Japanese style restaurant. For those who have not been here before, it is not a sushi restaurant. If you want sushi go to Tokyo Town or Joe's in Whittier, but this place has a wide range of Japanese food and is better for people who want to try a variety of foods. The sushi is okay, but you can get a better value other places. That being said, their service was great and they keep the dining area very clean. However, they did not have AC so it was pretty hot today. I would definitely go back, as it is pretty affordable and has good food. read more

I recently came here for lunch the other day. I had seen the reviews and thought it was worth a shot. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with rice, potstickers, and a California Roll to go. When I got back to work I noticed that they had forgot to put my sushi in the box. I called them about it and they offered to give me a free roll that I could pick up later. That was definitely cool. But upon eating the rest of the meal, I was not exactly enthused. The teriyaki and potstickers almost tasted the same with not much flavor. Even the shredded cabbage salad they had didn' t have much flavor in the sauce. I think I'll give this place another chance just to see what another menu item tastes like. They're close to work and their cheap so you can't beat that. Hopefully the taste improves next time. read more

Tucked away in the Stater Brothers shopping center at La Mirada Blvd. and Imperial Highway, this casual place is worth finding. Good for eat-in or take out, no delivery. Their miso soup is the best I've had anywhere nearby. Their sushi is freshly made and always good. Their tempura shrimp is delicious, extra crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. For take-out, call ahead and it will be ready within 10 mintues. Prices are very reasonable. read more

Atmosphere: 3 stars. Clean and well-kept inside, but it was a bit stuffy. Service: 4.5 stars. Very polite and nice waiter. Price: 2.5 stars. Some things are overpriced, some aren't, just depends on what you get. Our total came out to be about $41, though, and it was NOT worth it. Food: 2 stars -Chinese Chicken Salad: they use plain teriyaki chicken. Salad itself didn't seem all that fresh. It was lacking in portion, overpriced, and needed more and better ingredients. They skimped on the vegetables. They also don't use the "standard" dressing for Chinese Chicken Salad. They use this dark brown sauce, but at least it is sweet. 2 stars for this one. About $7-8, I think. -Spicy Tuna Roll: 2.5 stars. Edible, but way too tiny! A little too spicy, too :/. -Salmon roll with salmon, cucumbers, etc. inside. If I had a menu on me, I would tell you the number. It was either in the 60s or 70s. Basically, it was one of the fancier rolls. They are much bigger than the size of a California roll, but there were only four. For $8.50, that's a pretty sad deal. They looked tasty, though. -Udon: Just O.K. Tastes like your average udon, only the noodles were slightly tougher. I liked the things inside, however, and the soup was tasty. 3 stars -Miso soup: Just O.K., too. Was too salty. 3 stars Overall, I don't see myself coming back again. Though I did not have a terrible experience by any means, I was just not very impressed, nor were 3 of my other family members. it's good with a decent price. service is usually great! however, it is like every other korean owned japanese restaurant. nonetheless, their sushi is great. tofu salad is fantastic and it's also a good place for non-sushi lovers to go. there's always the bento, teriyaki bowl, curry, or udon bowls. taste is good, but nothing extremely WOW to blow your socks off. you get what you want and I come back to midori five knowing just that. read more

We're in the area looking for a quick food in between trips. Place has friendly and attentive service. Place seems clean in general. They have reasonably priced meals. We ordered the following: Bento with Salmon, CA rolls and tempura -- salmon was good, CA rolls was disappointingly rolled loosely though it tastes good too, there was only 1 pc of shrimp tempura the rest were tempura veggies. Bento with teriyaki beef, tempura and CA rolls - the beef tempura serving was ample and tasty, CA rolls and tempura was same as above. Combo of udon soup and crunchy roll - soup was great and the crunch roll was so so. Overall we were satisfied and may look for this spot incase we are in the area again. ***the warm miso soup served while ordering was a huge plus! read more

These people try very hard. Atttentive wait staff and management. It looks like the average IQ may be about 130. Great presention and taste. Very good value. It may look crowded but you should be able to order in a minute even at peak times. If its only about the food, value and service then this is the place. My only quibble is that it seems Mom and Pop run and Mom does not smile. The hired hands or college age children that work there are truly happy with what they do but Momma san needs Prozac. read more

came to my hometown of la mirada for a visit and I wish I discovered this place before I moved it was so good, the service was top notch very friendly smiling attentive staff. The teriyaki bowl was near the best I've had, very fresh! Not super sweet teriyaki sauce and just the right amount on the rice and over the chicken and beef.
