Donna and her team are on top of giving A+ service. The food is always great and the drinks too. It's like stepping through time when you walk through those doors. Love the retro look. It is a casual place that offers trivia/ karaoke and sometimes physic reading check out their page for events !

When you walk in, it is like entering a 70's lounge in the best possible way! The drinks are generous. Stuff clams were perfect- not overly spiced or bread like- fluffy with lots of clams- cooked to a crisp drizzled with a buffalo like sauce. We had a crock of the fish chowder- which was creamy and chocked full of fish. Then we shared the Kings cut Prime Rib- cooked perfectly med-rare. It came with 2 sides; we opted for the mashed red bliss potatoes and vegetable of the day cooked baby carrots. It was a great cut! Instead of the desserts, that all look tasty, but we decided on a hot chocolate with butterscotch schnapps and whipped cream. Delicious and perfect way to end a meal! I would go back for sure- service was amazing! Great prices, too. Enjoyed the live performer- not too loud and nice variety of songs.

Perfect town bar and restaurant, they featured Daly specials along with lunch menu. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable very informative and attentive ! Meatloaf lunch specials with 3 winds ... very good and great price. I got leftovers for dinner. Husband got the jumbalya... he said it was excellent. It is awarded winning! Peggy our server was great friendly and had good suggestions. We will be back for dinner to try prime rib! Yum!

I was taken to the Midway for dinner last night & unexpectedly loved it! The menu has a wide variety of homey foods & all at very fair prices for being in the Boston area. We were seated immediately around 7:15, however, the place was packed! Understandably, it was a Thursday night & a DJ set up in the corner. The Midway is definitely home to a good collection of regulars & first comers, which made the atmosphere even better. In terms of the food, the portions are excellent. I, personally, ordered a Chicken Club and it was exactly as expected. Let me tell you, the fries here are incredible. I can't wait to go back and try more menu items!

Every time I visit, I end up ordering something different - and I haven't had a bad dish yet. The cocktails are expertly crafted. The service has been great (we sit at the bar). If you're tired of the same old menus at every other restaurant, go here. It's easily become my favorite reliable-yet-exciting neighborhood spot.

Overall, everything tasted great (esp the fried chicken and home fries) and the portions were massive to just right. If there were a few kinks to iron out, I'd say that the beignets weren't really airy and some of the mushroom stems in the omelette were really tough and should've been discarded before cooking. Next for dinner: their fried chicken dinner which came with Mac and cheese, collard greens/broccolini, cornbread, and the tempura hake, and a side of cornbread with pecan butter. That pecan butter was delicious, we definitely asked for more. The fried chicken dinner was also amazing, every single dish in it. The hake while crispy, didn't have enough salt. The server fixed it immediately with a side of garlic aioli and that was great. If I could make a suggestion, I would say they should swap out the celery root slaw for something that goes better with the fish. Service was excellent both times. Very friendly and accommodating, always asking if we enjoyed our meal and they were quick to make things right if we had requests. Ambiance is really nice, very warm, inviting, perfect for a sit down meal. Apart from a few kinks in their dishes (which I'm sure they can resolve), I'd give them 5 stars.

The staff was super nice when we came in, We had the Jerk Berger, Garlic Fries and Baby Back Ribs with Plantain fries. Both were cooked well and had a really good flavor from the meat, and also the spicing and flavor were quite good. It sounds like they may be refreshing the interior, I would agree that would help as it felt a bit lost in design, and also a bit tired. I would definitely go back for the staff and the food.

It pains me to write this review but I hope it's seen by management and they address this issue. I had a friend visiting from another state (drove for 10 hours in snow and ice). I was excited to bring them here for brunch. I made a reservation online the day before just in case. We arrived at 10am and the doors were locked. The hours said they'd be open at 9am. Tried getting the staff's attention but it seemed like we were being ignored. I called the phone number several times. No one picked up even though I could see staff inside. I even tried sending them a message on social media but no response. We ended up going to the breakfast spot next door. When we were done, we walked past the restaurant and of course it was open then. Needless to say, this experience was super disappointing. Communication about updated hours or picking up the phone isn't too much to ask for. One bad experience isn't a dealbreaker but two will be. I hope management fixes this quickly.

The food is solid but it's a bit pricey and my last time here was the final time. After standing in the store for the usual extra 15-20 minutes beyond the estimated time, a staff member gave us the sandwiches we ordered but said they ran out of soup and could refund us. We stood there and waited another 10 minutes until he came around again and asked if we needed anything. I said yes, we're waiting for the refund. He got another coworker to process the refund for us. She was typing in front of a computer for a few minutes and said she processed it. My mistake that I took her for her word without requesting a refund receipt as the refund never processed. By the time we got home to eat (after stopping at the grocery store for soup instead), the four sandwiches were cold. I won't be back again but if you go, tack on a lot of time before you go to pick up your food and if you get a refund, press for a receipt.

As a quick-service spot, it's perfect for a satisfying, no-fuss meal. We placed a takeout order, and the food was prepared and ready quickly. Impressively, even after delivery, the sandwiches arrived in great shape, the bread was toasted well and didn't get soggy, despite being packed with ingredients. I ordered the BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese with chipotle mayo. The sandwich was good, hitting the right notes for a solid grilled cheese. The cheese itself had a nice flavor and achieved that ideal melted texture, perfectly gooey without being messy or congealed. For the price and portion, it was satisfying. My one note is that the flavor of the BBQ brisket was quite subtle and got a bit lost behind the cheese and the decent, smoky chipotle mayo. The mayo did pair well and added a nice kick. Overall, Melty is a reliable spot for a hearty, well-executed grilled cheese. It's the kind of place you go when that specific craving hits, and it delivers a consistently good version of the classic.

The outdoor area is inviting, and inside there's a great mix of low-top tables, high-tops, bar seating, and cozy spots to settle into. The space also has a bit of a bakery/café vibe, making it feel like a place where you could stop in for a quick grab-and-go item or stay awhile for a full meal. The staff made a great impression too. The people at the front were incredibly helpful to my guest, who was having some trouble with their phone. I also ordered one of the specialty drinks but asked for it without alcohol. The bartender absolutely nailed it--it was so good that my only complaint was that it didn't come in a bigger glass. For food, I had the grass-fed burger and fries (see photo), and it exceeded my expectations. The burger was so juicy and flavorful that I ended up cutting it into pieces just to make it manageable. We walked into a spacious, contemporary space with a large bar and plenty of seating, the kind of place that works equally well for watching a game with friends or a relaxed dinner. The interior had a comfortable, polished energy that struck a balance between lively and approachable, and the extensive beer and whiskey selection added to the inviting atmosphere. The menu goes beyond typical bar food with a mix of elevated comfort dishes, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, and seasonal entrées. We ordered a few items and found the Chilean sea bass standing out, paired with a flavorful sauce that complemented the fish without overpowering it. The lamb with gnocchi was another popular choice, offering a hearty and well-balanced dish with tender meat and pillowy gnocchi that absorbed the rich sauce. The burgers were cooked to order and made a reliable option for something more casual, arriving juicy and well assembled. For drinks and appetizers, the calamari, burrata, and flatbreads were good options to share, each coming out fresh and well seasoned. The bar program was another highlight, with a wide selection of craft beers, whiskey, and classic cocktails that were well prepared and paired naturally with the food. Service was friendly and welcoming, with staff happy to make recommendations and accommodate different group sizes. While some visits could experience slower service during busy periods, the overall experience tended to be attentive, and the team worked to create a comfortable atmosphere for both families and larger groups. The pacing of the meal stayed steady, and the food came out without much delay. Parking is available in a small lot, though it could fill up during peak dining hours, and the restaurant's location near shopping on Needham Street made it a convenient stop before or after running errands. Overall, District 118 Kitchen & Bar is a solid choice for anyone looking for elevated pub fare in a relaxed setting. The combination of quality food, a strong drink selection, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it equally enjoyable for a casual lunch, dinner with family, or an evening out with friends.
