Excellent customer service and food! I ordered the HTown combo, which includes a coney dog, wings and fries (with chili and cheese added). It tasted just like home (Detroit)! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe was cool too...quiet, clean and good music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely recommend!

I've been craving hot dogs all month and this was the spottttttt. Tasted exactly how all hotdogs should be in my opinion, like this is THE standard for hotdogs. I saw TikTok videos of this place and I had to try it, it is worth the visit. I got the htown box so chili cheese dog with an all beef frank, seasoned fries, 5 battered wings, nacho cheese sauce on the side and ranch for under $19 is a great value. If you are on a diet, you are not for a night. It's definitely ultra indulgence. Love the all beef Frank dog, pillowy soft bread, nice snap to the dog, good spice flavors with a hint of beef from the dog, creamy cheese, beefy chili with a great earthy & mole type of taste. I love the chili has no beans. The grilled onions are a nice add of sweet too. Fries are good same o fries you would expect from any restaurant so this is a good example, thick middle sized fries. Wings are great, I preferred naked and I recommend to select your preference online battered or naked. The battered is crunchy and nice moist chicken but for me too salty. The garlic Parmesan sauce I couldn't really taste it, plus I was hoping to see more Parmesan, it would have been nice to sprinkle some on top and it needs more garlic. It had a nice semi sweet flavor but I could taste a hint of parm. Good wings but I bet the naked are better. Overall great experience, I recommend if you like cheese get a side of cheese sauce. It reminds me of Taco Bell cheese sauce but a slightly stronger cheese flavor. I will say the ranch is ok, it's watery, sorta missing out on the ranch flavor. It reminded me of Pluckers ranch sauce both are watery but it felt the ranch at Mid-West coney definitely could be thicker. The owner is very nice and approachable, I felt he took care of me and let me know my order was done. He took ownership. He is client centric.

So we were craving a chili dog and we're tired of JCI really lacking these days so we set out for a new hot dog joint and MCC did not disappoint if you're looking for flavor look no further. Gone on and get that hot dog & wing combo it'll hit the spot every time oh and they fries are good too, oh don't forget the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls those hit too.

This place truly never misses. I had the 8 piece hot honey lemon pepper and OG dry rub today. I love that the wings are not these huge steroid sized wings, they are the perfect size. The sauces and rubs were so flavorful and everything was hot and made to order. I also had a cheesesteak egg roll which is one of my go tos here. There was about a 20 minute wait which wasn't bad considering the Wednesday special. I do wish they offered the option of all flats for the wings. Our food was fresh with wings fried hard as requested & every item full of flavor!! The blue cheese & sauce that's included with the cheesesteak egg roll paired great as condiments. "Hello Detroit, you won my heart" those who know, know what I'm singing. That is what I was singing after visiting this spot! I have heard lot of good reviews and I was finally able to get here. This place right here brings me back home. The chili dog is right on point of the Detroit coney I get when I come home. Let start with the wings - nice and crunchy like I like them, and moist. The lemon pepper seasoning was not over powering. French fries were good but I should of made those a chili fries. Now let's get to the coney dog, they chili sauce on top is very flavorful. I have been to other place that say the coney dogs taste like the ones from Detroit, this place has hit it on the nail!!! The service was great the own came out letting the customers know that there food will be ready soon. Letting us know that food is cook to order so you know you are getting it fresh. He was very nice and so was the staff. They carry the staples from home. Better made chips and Faygo. The next on the list to try is a Boston cooler (ice cream and Vernon's another Detroit staple). Check out the menu, they do offer various hot dogs and wings.

Everyone that worked here is really nice. I had this place saved in my guides so when I flew into Houston I had to see about it. Everything I got was good. The fries were seasoned, the chili cheese beef dog was great. The wings were cooked just how I liked it. I got the lemon pepper hot. This was my favorite spot when I lived in Houston. They have the best "junk" food. I always got the coney with chili cheese onion and mustard combo with the sweet and spicy wings and fries. It never let me down. I miss this gem now that I no longer live in the area. read more

Idk how this place got 4 stars . My chill hot dog.... I swear thats the canned chilli that you buy in Walmart . That is exactly what they put on my hotdog . My hotdog look like they put it in the microwave. I also got a cheesesteak... I'm from Philly so I really messed myself up going there. I took one bite of the cheesesteak an threw it away. They was out of mushrooms. I told the lady multiple times onions only. They still gave me bell peppers. My mother wanted cheese fries they gave her that canned chilli an cheese on her fries. She didn't ask for that. The best thing I had was the kool aid. If the cheesesteak was gone be nasty I atleast expected the hot dog to be good. Throw the whole restaurant away. I want my 24$ back. read more

If you are in the need of a good coney this is the place to go. What makes the cones good is the use of good raw material ie excellent hot dogs that rival Hebrew Nations plus the personal touches. You would want to order the fries with the home made seasoning. Worth the trip on it's own Add to that a friendly face, good service and you have a great experience. BTW we have been promised the addition of corn dogs this week so our return trip is already booked. read more

Cute food truck park. I stopped by with my mom and we ordered online when we parked (not sure why we didn't look at the website beforehand so we could have ordered before we got there lol!), but it was ready within 20 minutes as quoted. We got the htown combo and another single Detroit dog. The hot dogs were pretty good! The wet chili really is the main highlight here. Unfortunately, there were two things wrong with out order that I didn't notice until we got home. We ordered cheese fries - only got regular fries, which taste meh when you got your hopes up for cheese fries! Also, for the wings in the combo, we ordered sweet tangy and they gave us buffalo... I didn't mind, but my mom was definitely not a fan. Probably won't come back, but it was nice to try! read more

Food and service are absolutely amazing! The wings could not have been any better, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fries had that satisfying crisp exterior with every bite. Well worth the 1hr 15min drive to try for the first time. Also remember this is not fast food so don't get grumpy when food is not out in 3mins. The masterpiece of food he creates takes time. Couldn't find a review for the restaurant on Kirkwood so I'm gonna leave it here. I'm from Michigan and hadn't had a Coney in so long and this being my first one in a long time, I loved it! Saw it off an IG page and just had to go. Food was AMAZING and they even had a halal beef dog option. Plus FAYGO, this is the best pop and it's not up for debate. My friend and I were greeted and helped by Keeva. She was very sweet and people friendly, we cracked jokes together and all. Prices were very reasonable. Hands down, best coney style hot dog in Houston. Both the Detroit and Flint here great. Dogs have a nice snap, chili is seasoned really well, and onions and mustard are the perfect compliment. My only problem, it was gone before I knew it and had to get seconds! Definitely marking this place as the go-to spot for my hot dog fix. read more

We went to the truck a few days ago. We both got two plates - both the spicy sienna wings and fries. The wings were fried nicely and the sauce was great. The chicken was juicy and the fries were also seasoned. To top it off the man that owned the truck was incredibly friendly. He even gave us a bag of chips and some Faygo to eat with it. If youre at the Galleria area, give them a try you wont regret it. read more

So, my family and I went to Peggy Park last weekend for the Soundbites Food Truck Festival in 3rd Ward, Houston, Texas, and I had found out all of the food trucks that were in attendance. When I saw that Midwest Coney Connection was going to be there, I had to hit them up first! It was a good 60+ weeks since I bought the entire menu last time. Yes I did buy everything on there and was proud of it! I didn't do it this time lol. And as expected, they did not disappoint! Andriko is a beast when it comes to making coneys. I said Man you can get a hotdog anywhere but if you want a coney, hit up MCC aka Midwest Coney Connection. With the kind of love they put into making this food you have to show support and when you do, it's as they say. One bite, hooked for life! The wings with the Tangy Sienna Sauce was amazing. It complemented the crispiness of the wings. Fries were perfectly seasoned. Chili was spot on and standalone! Can eat about 10 bowls of that. The hotdog itself had that snap I was looking for. Everything was perfect. I said I was going to be back soon and I meant it this time especially for days I don't feel like cooking myself lol. For those that read this review, make sure you go by and get yourself an experience in a container/basket. Was just driving by and noticed a small food truck park tucked away off Chimney Rock and glad I stopped by. Wasn't too sure what to have so the owner, Andriko, suggested the combo. It. Did. Not. Disappoint. The Flint and Detroit coney...hella good. He was not lying when he said "one bite...hooked for life!" There's not a lot of good options for hot dogs but I just found my go to spot. read more

I can tell that the owners are putting a lot of attention and care in their establishment. As the ice melted, they became a little watered down, so I'd recommend drinking them before that happens or asking for less ice. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would come back to try more of their drinks.

The pictures I received before trying did it absolutely NO justice. I got the H-Town special because it's a top seller and I can honestly see why you get 5 wings, 1 coney & fries. Let's start with the coney. It was absolutely delicious, hot dog was perfect, you literally heard EVERY BITE! The fries were well seasoned and although he forgot the ketchup I wasn't even mad because I ate em anyway. The wings tied everything together, I got mine spicy and of course it didn't disappoint. Way after i got my lips were still tingling! He told us he was bringing it to Katy and I REALLY HOPE SO!! I mean the drive to his current location isn't that bad and totally worth it. So if your from the Midwest and you visiting or currently residing in Houston make a trip to eat at the Midwest Coney Connection and in one bite you'll be hooked! read more

You haven't eating a real Coney until you try this place. OMG where do I start the Detriot Coney was amazing Chili, cheese and onion! My husband tried the spicy breaded wings and seasoned fries very delious. So excited they have a set location. Super friendly even gave us a free Michigan soda and hot chips. I don't leave reviews but this food has you chasing them all over town and deserves the recognition. The guy told me what was on the hot dog. I don't eat mustard but I was going to just deal with it . He assured me he would get a new one made . I said it was ok . He fixed it right away . When looking for the authentic flavors and texture of a Detroit/Flint Coney, this is the spot. The service is fantastic! I also had 2 types of fries and an order of Buffalo wings which were all cooked to perfection and the Sienna Sauce is a nice compliment.
