I normally don't review restaurants unless I'm extremely impressed. Miga definitely exceeded my expectations. I've always passed by Miga and never ordered from them till today. I was craving Galbi Naengmyeon. Not many Korean restaurants serve these two together so I was ecstatic to see it's on their menu. I'm very specific about my Naengmyeon noodles. I hate when they're too chewy or tastes too much like buckwheat. Their noodles have the perfect amount of bounce and buckwheat. Their broth is slightly tangy and refreshing. The Galbi had that nice charcoal flavor with the right amount of burnt bits. The combo also comes as half portion. This was a great amount cause sometimes I get overwhelmed when I order too much food. Also as always from any Korean restaurant it cames with banchan. But the definitely loaded it up with several different kinds instead of just 2-3. I will definitely be coming back soon for their Galbi Naengmyeon since it's stated as a summer seasonal item. read more

Miga is a hidden gem near Fremont Hub! Located next to chachago boba spot, this restaurant is a go-to for classic korean food. The servers are really fast and attentive, the side dishes taste fresh and delicious (+1 point for not giving you a hard time about refills), and the value is fair. My average spend for 2 people here is about $70 and that includes 1 tofu soup, 1 seafood pancake, and 1 galbi. It is a busy restaurant, but turnover is fast. One of my favorite spots in Fremont now. I came here with my friend to get dinner since I was craving tofu soup! It's a pretty small Korean restaurant, but pretty full when my friend and I got dinner on a Friday night. They had a lot of different soup options, but I've never tried the dumpling soup before and decided to get that. They give a whole bunch of different sides, which were all pretty good. I really liked their spinach banchan the most! The soup was super good. It wasn't too spicy and it had a lot of tofu and dumpling in it. The broth was very flavorful and paired well with the rice. Definitely would come back for a quick lunch or dinner. The staff here is also super nice and refilled most of our banchans. TLDR: super nice staff, quick serve times and delicious food! read more

Korean food to me is supposed to taste "homey" and that is exactly what Miga offered. Mind you, there is a section of their restaurant where they openly store their restaurant supplies (it seemed like to-go boxes, paper towels, etc.) so their aesthetics game is not too strong at all. BUT. The food is excellent. I got the Bulgogi Hot Stone Bowl Bibimbab and it was so good. The meat was perfectly marinated and not dry at all. My dad got the Galbi (beef short rib) and devoured the whole thing lol. We also got the Pan Fried Vegetable Pancakes and they were low-key my favorite. Would definitely come again. P.S. I never knew this place existed until my friend suggested to come here for her birthday. Everything was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive! All four are of us shared and we ordered 2 Entree and Soon Tofu combo (spicy pork and Galbi w/ beef tofu) and pan fried Flounder which came with 2 fish. The servings was just right and got us full. I've been driving by this place for who knows how long...the first time I noticed it was from the smell while driving by. Finally made it in last night with the wife and kid. We were completely satisfied and will be returning without doubt. This family owned gem is kinda tucked away, but very convenient to get to with plenty of nearby (free) parking. The ambiance is what you might expect, K-pop in the background, fairly small but cozy. We noticed right away that it was almost packed...it stayed that way the entirety of our stay. Every one of the staff is super friendly, welcoming and warm. The star of the show, though, is the food! We had short ribs hot bowl, an amazing chicken dish, a beef dish, and the vegetable pancake(s). EVERYTHING was delicious! Our server was exceptional, he was kind and patient and helpful with insights on any questions we had. I certainly recommend you give this spot a chance if you're at all considering it. You will not be disappointed. We'll definitely be back and I will be sure to get some names of the awesome staff. read more

I came here with my coworker on a Tuesday right after memorials day weekends and we were seated right away. The water was brought out 5 mins after we sat down. The place is super clean and didn't take them long for us to order. We got the entree and tofu combos, spicy pork, bulgogi, and beef and assorted tofu soups. It was so delicious!!! They refill our side dishes multiple times and it was at a decent price. And I love the workers who work there. Super attentive and fast. I would definitely come back for more food options. We went there for a birthday celebration and although we had to wait a while on a Friday evening it was worth the wait. And Warriors basketball was on TV so it was easy to stay up-to-date on the game! We were eventually seated (4 of us) in a corner table which was nice. Galbi was very good and meaty, the hot stone pork bibimbap was very crunchy and tasty, the dumpling soup was good but the pork bulgogi was a bit dry. The soju was not too sweet and the vegetable pancake was a good starter. All in all I would recommend as one of the better Korean restaurants in the area. No desert to help us celebrate the occasion but we were pretty full and already had cake at home! read more

It took a while for the waiter to come over to take our order and to eventually give us our side dishes. You can get free refills of side dishes if you ask. Everything was covid safe? We were given paper plates and cups and disposable chopsticks. We did find this weird as other places still use real cups, plates, and utensils. It gave everything a cheaper feel as things were more flimsy. We choose the combo meal with tofu soup and bulgogi and a bibimbap. Tofu soup was suppose to be mildly spicy but tasted pretty spicy. Holy cow, I got so lucky to find this place! My wife wanted Korean food for her birthday, and we wanted someplace new. She finally remembered seeing something near where that Spirit Store goes up every Halloween downtown. Sure enough, tucked away between a shop called 'Hair Stlyish' and a Kumon place we decided on Miga. And oh, did we have the most luscious, hearty, birthday-worthy meal ever! It started with the exquisite banchan; little bowls of fish cakes, mung sprouts, cooked seaweed, simply blanched spinach, and cabbage kimchee. These are technically used as, yes, something to nibble while waiting, but also - I just learned this while there - as accompaniments to your main meal in order to complement it and reduce 'palate fatigue'. The Japchae (sweet potato) noodles were sweet and springy, and the mushrooms richly flavored. We also shared the Bulgogi Bibimbab; rice and thin pieces of savory beef cooked in sesame oil in a hot stone bowl. The rice keeps cooking, so you get some crispy bites at the bottom. OMG! We were swooning over the whole thing. We washed it down with green apple soju and tipped our waiter like hell - he was so nice; explaining things, noticing when we needed something, and not caring in the least that we were a gay couple. We ordered Rabboki, galbi and seafood tofu stew combo. We loved their services, food, and especially side dishes. I personally gravitated toward a more favorable seafood tofu stew but my boyfriend preferred this one. It gave you that soothing and healing sensation which is great for a chilly day. The highlight is the side dishes. They are the best I've ever got in the whole Bay Area. Sweet potato is so chewy and a bit sweet. I couldn't stop eating it. This cute little family owned restaurant has a homey and warm feel, which makes me feel comfortable whenever I go. You may not find the greatest selection of kbbq here but they do have platters of short ribs, spicy pork, bulgogi, and other basic korean bbq meats available (although they are on the pricier side). What I do enjoy is their selection of more authentic and harder to find Korean dishes, like Korean Black Native Goat Soup. Food ordered: 1. Tofu Soup (5/5)- I've tried the beef, seafood, and vegetable tofu soups and they are all delicious and have plenty of fillings. Tofu soup also comes with delicious banchan! 2. Bbq Short Ribs Plate (3/5) - Not going to lie, but this is more on the pricier side of dishes at Miga respective to other establishments. Why? For $29.99, I can go to an AYCE Kbbq restaurant and get way more meat. The short ribs were tasty and the meat was tender, but if I wanted more meat, I'd seek other places for more bang for my buck. 3. Spicy Pork (4/5) - I was scarred from spicy pork after having refrigerator burned ones from another Korean establishment in Fremont. Miga's helped me regain my love for spicy pork. The only caveat was that the plate was so hot that some of the meat was scalded on the edges. Not a lot were like this so no biggie though. 4. Seafood Pancake (4/5) - Good seafood pancake with the standard sauce. 5. Korean Native Black Goat Soup (5/5) - Now, this is it. In the Chef's Special section of the menu, you will find this special dish. This is a more traditional Korean soup made with Native Black Goat, which is only grown from Korea. Okay so I know what you are thinking, Goat has that pungent metallic taste, but I'm telling you, this does not! Complimented with fresh herbs and a clean and light broth with vegetables, this is a must try dish. Note: Miga has a combo meal choice which easily fills a party of 2. DOV: 12/10/16 Rainy day means perfect weather for soup! Two reason I came back to Miga: banchan and seafood pancake. Pro tip 1: if you come during the weekend, even if you come during lunch hours, everything is charged at dinner price. Banchan: they don't bring it to you UNTIL after you order...guess they don't want you munchin' on their banchan if you don't intend to eat. We ordered: APPETIZERS: 1. Spicy rice cake // +Definitely order it spicy level! It tasted too sweet when it was just mild. -The rice cake got super stiff after a few minutes. Also kind of al dente texture...wish it was softer. 2. Seafood pancake // +probably the shining star of this place! 3. "Yellow noodle" aka Jap Chae // One of the side dishes is already jap chae, but if you want more... +Has generous chunks of beef in it! -Too salty. Wayyy too much soy sauce, and not enough sesame oil flavor. Entrees: 1. Combo tofu pot (seafood, beef) // +Generous amounts of seafood! Comes with a raw egg too. 2. Beef tofu pot // +Literally a whole box of tofu.... -But where da beef at?! 3. Potato pot // +3 generous pieces of pork ribs! +Lotsa potatoes! +/- Be warned, this flavor is a hit or miss. They sprinkle it with a lot of black powder, and top it with perilla leaves. 4. Black goat pot // -I think this is literally the same as potato pot minus the potato. No ribs, but few pieces of pork and lots of pieces of fat that I couldn't really consume. Pros: +Nice ladies. It's so cute that this is family run! Cons: -Quite a bit of MSG. -Adds up! The portions are smaller compared to other places and would only be worth it for lunch on a weekday. Tips/Observations: -Wifi still doesn't work... Overall, I would come here on a weekday but not weekend. Then we had the spicy rice cakes that changed my life that's how good it was. The service was amazing shout out Kydan. We signed in the kiosk wait list as #1 spot and waited 15 minutes. Lots of young kids as waiters here but very inefficient. Order taken 10 minutes later. First dish 15 minutes later. Very yummy octopus. 2nd dish 45 minutes later. 3rd 10 minutes after that. 2nd dish unimpressive $46 lamb stew dish. 3rd a super sweet pork entrée. We asked for a check, no check. Wife asks for it 10 minutes later and got it. I had to go pay at the counter cause no one took it. All in all, we went in at 5:50 and left past 7:20.
