A REAL bonus with the price of Uber or Lyft these days. They got the work done on time. They did a complete inspection of my vehicle and made a few recommendations but they did NOT push those at all. I have been to a lot of service businesses in my time and this was truly a GREAT experience. They will definitely get my business again and my recommendation to everyone I know. Awesome service. We took it back, not happy that it wasn't fixed and we were out $822.00. The second fix was to replace the radiator. They said we cracked if after the first repair. There was 7 days in between the first repair and the 2nd! It never worked right after the first repair! They said the radiator was "rusted out" So how could it get rusted out in 7 days. They never said it was rusted out at the first visit!! 2nd repair was a new radiator and new coolant for $756. STILL DOESNT WORK RIGHT!!!

However, my GMC was in need of more repairs. It has almost 100,000 miles on it so it wasn't surprising. So, yes, I had to pay more when I left but my car is running so great now. Not only that, Mark had the mechanic save all the failing/older parts so that I was able to see what was done. I didn't feel as if I was being taken advantage of. I have recommended Brake Zone to a few people already and will be taking my other car in for general maintenance too. My cooling fan cover ended up missing; he replaced a turbo that was already new and gave me a defective one. When I took the truck back because it was having electric issues and problems with the new turbo (all the work was supposed to be covered by the warranty), come to find out he had an apprentice diesel mechanic do the work. Mark told me to get a second opinion, and I did. He also advised he would honor the warranty and have the new mechanic do the work and reimburse me because it was out of their wheelhouse of what they are capable of doing mechanically. So I did, and when I brought the invoice, he refused to honor the warranty. This is one of the most horrible shops, and I would not recommend it to anyone. After almost $10k spent, I took it to another shop, and they fixed all the issues that Brake Zone did not, and the new mechanic did not upsell me on unnecessary work or parts. Very bad EXPERIENCE!!!! Would not recommend.

Nearly $3,000 bought us failed brakes, unauthorized work, and a gag agreement. When we refused to…read morebe silenced, My Auto Works told us to call the police in order to get our truck back. I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with My Auto Works was too concerning not to share. This place is dishonest, untrustworthy, and will try to force your silence when their work has been challenged. They lack in communication and are extremely overpriced (as a plethora of reviews below confirm). A more detailed account of our situation is included below with an attachment of the agreement they tried to force us to sign to stay quiet: We originally paid approximately almost $3,000 for brake repairs. When the truck developed brake problems again while that repair was still under warranty, we expected the issue to be addressed. Instead, we were quoted another $2,300 for what they claimed were entirely new problems, with little explanation as to why the original repair had failed. We paid their diagnostic fee and sought a second opinion. Then a third. Both independent shops concluded the issue appeared to be the same warranty-covered repair, not the new repair My Auto Works was recommending. After asking us to bring the truck back so they could "make it right," the communication was terrible. We constantly had to call for updates, despite repeated promises that they would do better. The biggest issue was that they performed work we never authorized. We had made it clear we were waiting on pricing before deciding how to proceed, yet after days without any communication, we called and were told the work had already been done and the cost was even higher than the original quote. We never approved this work. When we declined the additional repair and asked for our truck back, they initially tried to charge us another diagnostic fee. After reviewing their own recorded phone calls, they admitted we had never been told that fee would apply and agreed to waive it. Then came the most unbelievable part. When my husband went to pick up our truck, he was handed a "Mutual Release and Non-Disparagement Agreement." They wanted us to agree not to post reviews, discuss our experience publicly, or have anyone else do so before they would release our vehicle. We refused because we believe customers have every right to truthfully share their experiences. They initially refused to give us our truck back unless we signed and told us we needed to call law enforcement to make that happen. Only after another employee admitted, "Roland f***ed up. He was supposed to have you sign the non-disparagement agreement first, but you signed your invoice first. So you're getting the truck back. Take the win and leave," were we allowed to leave with our vehicle. Mistakes happen in the automotive industry. What matters is honesty, communication, and accountability. Unfortunately, our experience was marked by poor communication, conflicting diagnoses, work performed without our authorization, and an attempt to condition the return of our truck on signing away our right to speak about what happened. Poor communication, unauthorized work, conflicting diagnoses, and an attempt to prevent us from sharing our honest experience is not how customers should be treated. He is absolutely the worst manager and should not be in business. When he is angry with a customer he slams doors and acts in threatening ways with a gun in his rafters and a hole in his front window. It's just time for Cory to sell his shop and move on. He needs to realize that the labor per hour difference between Cory's car care and Lexus is only 19 per hour. While at Lexus I get a loaner vehicle that's a new Lexus! They have a clean customer service lounge with free beverages and doughnuts, Lexus of Portland is amazing! Why is Cory's car care trying to compete? I originally started going to Cory's in the fall of 2020 for minor things like transmission oil and filter changes. Struts on my Toyota Avalon; Little stuff; Cory much like biff in back to the future would often get things wrong and you have to kind of stand there with him so he will stay focused on the issue until he realizes what the real problem is. It never was a professional experience. But I thought it was a way to help a family business stay in business. However, he isn't even owning up to his failed installation of parts at this point. He's trying to fraud people on their work warranty and refusing to complete the repairs. He can't legally do this. Personally, Cory is off his rocker!
