6/27/26 - I went here for a party of two. They are doing construction to the main entrance and redoing the entire outside patio. It looked fine before. You have to enter near the hotel side of the street. We are inside. No wait around 12pm. Ordered 2 items and 15 minutes later it arrived. We left around 12:40pm. 5 stars. Guest had 1 Chorizo con Heuvos for $17 with 3 flour tortillas. Has a little kick he said. I had the Barb's Ceaser which is my fav. Check photos out.

We love this Miguel's location. Everyone on staff is very friendly and welcoming. They refill your chips and dip or drinks without you even having to ask. The food is consistently delicious and although we are creatures of habit usually ordering the same thing when dining out, Miguel's is the one place choose to be adventurous and it has not disappointed us! Our table ordered the veggie I child's as, surf and turf burrito, shrimp burrito and for dessert we had chocolate empanadas à la mode, mudpie, and raspberry bread pudding. All so delish ! Thanks Miguel's, see yall soon!

The service was good. The hosts, the server as well as the runner were all very nice and friendly. They were quick and accommodating. Didn't really wait at all to be checked in, order taken, and cashed out. The main issue is the food. We got the veggie enchiladas. It's not what an enchilada really looks like. I'm not Mexican, and even I know that. You'd think in San Diego it's borderline Mexico, you'd get more authentic dishes than Los Angeles, but the preparation was odd. It's tortillas with what looks like grilled veggies inside and rolled up. It's not sauced over with baked in cheese. I was expecting them to be rolled up and baked with red sauce and melted cheese. Only a few specks of cheese was sprinkled on. The verde sauce was also on the lemony sour end. The refried beans looked canned and the plain red rice you can get at any fast food joint. Nothing authentic or special about it. Just Americanized. The Caucasians that fill the occupancy in this area that come and eat here looks like they don't know what real Mexican food is... it seems they just eat it and think it's Mexican. The other only reason for the two stars is because of their complementary chips and salsa. We came here to enjoy their patio but it seems they're doing renovations. It's not what I was expecting. It was pretty weak.

We had a large group with excellent service they have a large menu of food beers and drinks. We dine out doors and this was a very crowded restaurant With such a large menu you should be able to find something they started out with chips and a queso and a salsa Spice level was very slow but they both had good flavor I ordered the 7 mars which just did not make it very light on fish and shell fish and flavor. This is one of my favorite dishes so personally my standards might be a bit high. Noise level is very high so if your hear to talk with friends you may need to lean forward to hear them. This was walkable from hotels like the Del Coronado and the Glorietta Bay Inn. The non recommend was based on my specific food expectations and I suspect other dishes were excellent based on the group I was with.

My wife and I have been coming to Miguel's on Coronado Island for the past decade every time we come to San Diego. This time we came with our kids. Ambiance: There is a beautiful outside patio which is where we have always sat in but this time it was raining so we sat inside which was nice. Service: The service is always great! You always get a belly full of chips, salsa, and DELICIOUS queso which they fill up all the time (be careful so you don't fill up). Food: We got the following * Carne Asada Tacos: My kids (both boys) ordered these and it came with rice and beans...and they LOVED it...our elder son compared it to La Fiesta (in Mountain View which is our family favorite). * Pollo Asada Burrito: My wife and I were not that hungry but we shared this dish and it was DELICIOUS!! * Flan: My wife and I shared the Coconut flavored flan which was delicious, The food is delicious and well priced! I would recommend this place 1000% DISCLAIMER: I don't have any photos - SORRY! We got so carried away with how good the food looked we ate it...I got one half eaten photo...next time!!

Took it to go after walking over from the beach. Went with a mixed taco plate which came with rice and beans! Ahi tacos were an odd take in a hard shell and lacked other toppings. But man, the chicken taco had a fresh made tortilla with crispy cheese on it. They sent a huge portion of chips, salsa, guac, and queso! Killer!

The food is the best you'll find anywhere. The service is over the top friendly, and the setting is gorgeous... tucked away, part inside, part outside. This is my favorite place to visit on Coronado. Try the plain cheese quesadilla. It is dripping in garlic and is cheesy heaven. The guacamole is creamy heaven. And wear your elastic pants for the chips and salsa, fajitas and fish tacos!

Miguel's Cocina offers very different Mexican food than what we're used to back in North Carolina. It is still good, has a lil' kick, and is authentic (to us at least)! Salsa is always complimentary, but so is cheese dip (queso)! Back in NC they make you pay for that. They are both a bit spicy, but are both fresh (not bought). I tried the carne asada. The steak was surprisingly VERY tender, and had great flavor. They give you a choice of either corn or flour tortillas to make a taco out of it. The rice was so good that I didn't need to put anything on it, and refried beans were great as well! My grandmother's taco salad was great as well! One thing that I like about California is that you can actually eat outside! If you tried to eat outside in coastal NC or anywhere on the southeastern coast, nats, flies, and mosquitoes would be all over you. There is very little of that here. The food comes out fast, and service is professional and sincere! If you're in San Diego or on Coronado Island, this is the place for Mexican!

We were in Coronado for a wedding and decided to have lunch at Miguel's. It's hidden away in a quiet courtyard with a nice outdoor space. The staff were very nice and accommodating of a stroller and highchair. I ordered the classic fish tacos that came with fried fish, ranch, and rice and beans. The tacos were good, not great. I wish I'd asked for a chipotle mayo or aioli instead of the ranch - it needed a little kick! The cucumber margarita was delicious. A nice and trusty place to have lunch in Coronado.

NOT so Carne Asada Tacos. (Not sure what kind of meat this was)
    Aricka M.

By far the worst "Mexican food" we have ever had. The taste was awful...in fact there was no taste at all. I'm not sure what kind of meat I had but it was not carne asada. Sister in law got the chicken tostada and only took two bites...two because she was hungry. There was absolutely not flavor in the chicken. So unfortunate because the service was decent and the ambiance was nice, we sat on the patio. But other than that...no thank you!

Delicious, slightly hidden, mexican place right across from the Del! You kind of have to weave through a back alley to find the hostess. We were seated immediately, outdoors but there were heaters if it got too cold! Service was 10/10. Everyone was so attentive and really just seemed passionate about their jobs and happy to be there! Chips, queso, and salsa was put at our table within 30 seconds of sitting down. Chicken nachos were good! I liked my carnitas plate and my husband liked his tacos of the month. Also got some happy hour margs - large portions! Definitely recommend.

This place is a joke for drinks. Staying at the hotel so decided to try this restaurant on our first night which was on Sat, 5 days ago. I asked the waiter what he recommended regarding drinks and he said a Cadillac margarita which I knew he was trying to upsell. I used to be a server so I knew but I was fine with that so I ordered 2, one for me and one for my son. At $20 apiece, I would expect them to be a little strong especially since they include an extra shot. I didn't say anything though. The food was fine. I just came down and ordered two drinks for me and my son about an hour ago to take upstairs and again could barely taste alcohol and again spent almost $40 for both. I came to the pool with my younger son 30 min later and decided to order a Long Island tea because I know those are at least a little stronger. Nope. Just tasted like a sweetened iced tea. I went back and the hostess said she would watch them make it and would get the manager. The manager never came out and she came back with my drink which was not remade because my straw was still in it. It tasted a tiny bit like alcohol but barely and at that point I just gave up and took it. At this point, I really don't feel like talking about the food since my overall experience was very negative. I'm about $100 in just for watered down weak drinks.

    Adobada Tacos
    Norma D.

While I was in Coronado I decided to stop for lunch at Miguel's. They're always on hit with their chips, salsa, and jalapenos dip. Today I had the Adobado tacos with rice. Tacos were delicious with the right amount of mangos in the tacos. It gives these tacos a refreshing taste. As always they were busy with lots of tourists but I didn't have to wait at all. Service was good and quick. I haven't had a bad meal at any of their locations. Coronado is nice because if you're able to sit outside you get some great people watching opportunities.

The freshly fried chips, salsa and queso dip says it all. Outdoor seating in a beautiful location. That's all that is needed.

Is there bottomless mimosas at Saturday brunch?

We do not have bottomless mimosas, but we do offer a bottle of Kenwood Brut for $20.

    What's available for vegan options?

Not sure exactly what was available but they seemed to have plenty of options. We have a couple of vegetarians at work and they ate there and were happy.

Are we allowed to bring dogs? On the reviews, some have said yes but on the yelp page, it says they aren't allowed.

There is an outside area where you can bring your dog. It does not face the Main Street is the entrance on the side

Is it easy to find parking nearby on a weekday afternoon?

it's by Hotel Del , so it can be a challenge but I've found parking , just have to drive around...

Do you still have happy hour on Tuesday's?

    Yes from 3-6pm

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

Not when I went a couple months ago on a Saturday afternoon.

It's more of a modern, Americanized take on Mexican food. That said, the cheese balls on my salad were absolutely delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a great atmosphere, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy a drink. The service, however, could have been more attentive. We had several different servers during our visit, so I never really knew who our main waiter was. We even had to flag someone down just to get our bill. Overall, the food was good, the ambiance was enjoyable, and it's a great place to grab drinks and watch a game. With more attentive service, it would have been an even better experience.

One of, if not the, best burrito I've ever had! It is also absolutely massive and is definitely the biggest burrito I've ever seen. It's also super affordable considering the size! You won't regret getting this burrito. My favorite parts about the burrito were the tortilla itself and the cheese that's layered in between the tortilla. The tortilla is soft and fresh, but it doesn't tear apart/lose structure. The place was busy but we were lucky enough to snag a table. They had a sign that gave people a heads up that the wait time for food was about 30 minutes. The wait time was pretty accurate, but it was well worth it. Would recommend to place your order to-go just in case it's too hard to get a seat. Seating is first come, first serve and not necessarily directed by the staff. Parking is very limited!

They have a sign letting you know this isn't fast food and that everything is made fresh to order, which I completely respect. The wait time board said 40 minutes, and I was okay with that. There were only two people ahead of me when I ordered, so I figured it wouldn't be too bad. Unfortunately, it ended up taking about 65 minutes to get my food, which was a pretty big difference from the posted estimate. That said, the burrito was so good that I'd still come back. Just plan ahead if you're hungry because the wait can definitely be longer than expected. Also, be aware that parking is pretty rough, and the lot is not low-car friendly.

So I was very excited to see what this place had to offer. Celebrated my daughter's 19th birthday here this week, and to be honest, I was not impressed. The location and views from this place are unmatched. Tons of covered patio seating with a breathtaking view of the downtown skyline. As for the food, it was just ok. It was mostly mexican seafood, but there was a good mix of other items like steak and a wagu burger. Everything was served hot and fresh, but in my honest opinion, everything just lacked flavor. Everything I tasted was just bland, and I tasted a little bit of all of my family's meals. But everyone agreed. Maybe we are just spoiled with San Diego Mexican food. My biggest complaint of the night was the service. Our waiter started off well. He took our drink orders and when he returned, asked if we wanted to get appetizers started, which we did. Our appetizers came out and were finished and we still had not seen our server to order our main dinner. This continued to be the issue all night, we were constantly looking and waiting for our server. There were other servers that came around and filled our drinks and took our plates, and they were great! But we really didn't see our main server most of the night. And one of the times that we did walk by, my daughter asked for a new glass of water because she had dropped food into the glass. He took the glass and never came back. I ended up giving my daughter my water. I did notice that the servers at the other tables were awesome. They were attentive, and we constantly saw them checking on their guest. And like I said, we are fans of all of the Cohn restaurants we have dined at before, so the level of service we received is not typical. Maybe our server was new??? I will say, this is not a cheap place to eat. My family of 5 spent almost $240 and that was with no alcohol or desserts. So you would expect to receive a high level of service. Other than the ambience, our experience was just ok. I would highly recommend the restaurants next door, which are owned by the same owner, and have never disappointed us in quality and/or service (Island Prime or C-Level).
