I live in San Diego now, but happened to be driving through yesterday. Their BRC burrito with sour cream was my guilty pleasure when I used to live in the area. So I was really excited to stop in after more than a year of eating at a Miguel's Jr. Several years ago when this location was still new, I remember them serving very nicely folded burritos with soft tortillas. It put the Norco location to shame. I ended up sticking with the Norco location because the burritos from this place started going down in quality. But it's been a long time so I figured I'd give it another try. The tortilla was very dry and crumbling in my hand with the slightest touch. It was just beans and tortilla for the first half of the burrito, and then I noticed some rice. Didn't notice any cheese or sour cream until I was down to the last 1/3 of the burrito. They charge extra for sour cream, by the way. And when the sour cream finally showed up, it was pretty much all glopped onto the side. I like sour cream in this, but a mouth full of just sour cream and tortilla isn't what I was hoping for. I'm pretty bummed about this experience. I had hoped they would have improved since the last time I was there, but I think it's become worse. I don't drive through this area often, and I don't eat fast food much anymore. I was reeeeally looking forward to eating my old friend, BRC with sour cream. Salivating from the moment I got off the freeway. I came to read the reviews bc the past year or so I haven't been satisfied with their food, particularly their beans. They don't taste like the other locations beans. I kept thinking it was me but I finally realized it's this location. I went today and they got my order wrong twice, I had to go back a third time. Reading the reviews, sounds like it's not just me. Coronians are always flocking to this place. Every local here will always ask you, "have you been to Miguel jr.?" And I would say no because it was the truth. But not after today. Despite all of the Yelp reviews that mention the huge drive-thru line, I still went thru. Miguel's is located in a small parking lot where traffic control is required. I noticed one of their employees was out directing traffic. What was nice was he was separating cars that were just passing thru from the cars that were headed to the drive-thru. And he just used hand signals and eye contact and we all understood. The line was long...but it didn't take long. But the layout and size of this parking lot is a headache. I finally get to the young man taking orders outside, just like In-n-Out does. He helped me out with my order since it was really my first time. I couldn't decide between the Garbage or Miguel's Original Burrito. He told me the incredients of each and suggested the Original and that's what I got. You also have a choice of meat: shredded chicken, shredded beef, or chile verde pork. Or carne asada, which I chose. Turn it into a combo and it will also include rice and beans. Drink not included, so I ordered one. I also ordered a cheese quesadilla. The guy seemed genuine when he completed my order and said "have a great day." It didn't take long to get to the window to pick up my food. The girl at the window was talking but I didn't know she was talking to me until I recognized she was reading my order to me or to the wall. I'm actually not sure if she greeted me or not. Knock knock are you real? Holy crap I spent $15, but...yolo! She handed over my food and told me to have a great day but I already knew she was forgetting something...my drink and she handed it over, no apology or sign of it. I think her robot brain was overwhelmed. I finally get home to try this. There were two containers which I thought was odd. The cheese quesadilla had its own container and it was folded. At first I thought it was just 2 pieces until I picked it up and unfolded it. I took my first bite and thought it was alright, wasn't bad. Del Tacos Quesadillas are still my favorite. Took out the 2nd container with my Miguel jr. Original with Carne Asada, and rice & beans. For some reason I wasn't thinking about how big it was gonna be. A lot of carbs for one plate. I took a bite out of it and thought "this is probably the most authentic mexican food I've had for awhile." The Carne Asada was good but it felt like all the carbs were pushing the flavors aside. The rice and beans were alright, maybe a little bland for my taste. The hot sauces helped a little. 3/5 stars which is not bad. It's probably more like 3.85 stars. I'm probably not a burrito person but I still wanna try the garbage burrito anyways. The rest of the menu looks yummy so I'll definitely be back. The location is not ideal but they are working with what they have and it's been successful. (Kudos to the traffic control guy!) The guy that took my order was great! I wish the girl at the window had that same level of service, but it wasn't bad, I just know she could do better :-). Even though my burrito was alright, it was still a good experience! Dang I'm super bummed about this place! I have been coming here for years and never have had a problem. I went through the drive-through today and paid $10 for a garbage shredded beef burrito as well as a drink. When I got home it was a bean and cheese burrito! We decided to try your place. We're really happy we did not only was the person taking our order in Drive thru friendly and accurate with our order but the person that gave us our food was also so friendly and courteous and we received our order in a timely manner even though they were busy! I've been going to Miguel's Jr since I was 19 years old and now on my 50's I get more and more disappointed on the original food quality, the shredded meat definitely don't taste the same anymore like 25 years ago. Every time I eat at the old Miguel's Jr restaurant on Sixth east of Lincoln I get upset stomach for some reason. The salsa is watered down so bad that I can't pour it without draining trough the bottom of the burrito, normal salsa is paste that stays were you put it, at least the original Miguel's salsa was. Last Thursday I ordered the usual shredded beef burrito with rice and beans and I got more flour tortilla then food in it, not the first time but geez at least use a smaller tortilla I don't want to eat all that flour specially when we have health issues eating too many carbs and sugars, I had to tear off the extra flour tortillas then wrap it again. Bean & Cheese Burrito, enchilada style. YAS, please! The Food: I grew up going to Miguel's Jr, so my sentiments towards it are strongly influenced by nostalgia. With that said, the food is good. Especially the bean & cheese burrito, enchilada style. If you're looking for a little more sustenance, I'd recommend the garbage burrito (and if you're feeling really crazy, I'd say you should order it enchilada style). Other Things: + The salsa bar. Load up on their Salsa Verde, regular salsa, carrots, jalapenos, and cilantro! Yuuuuum. + The guac is good--not my favorite--but good. + Not super hungry? Order a "mini" bean and cheese burrito. (It'll save ya a dollar or two!) + The beans are kind of heavy. (I think they put lard in them?) I'd recommend asking for easy-beans. + I have, once or twice, found a piece of steak in my bean & cheese burrito...which doesn't really bother me. But it would totally bother a vegetarian. With the new 91 express lanes, you have to use the Ontario street on-ramp to get into them and this place is right there.I have to come down here and get off the freeway so that I can get back on into the express lanes when I head down to Disneyland, and this place is a perfect place to stop for breakfast along the way to the park. I've only been here in the morning when there aren't many people inside and all of the workers are getting ready for the day. Everything is clean and neat, and they've got like a hundred of the small salsa cups all lined up on the counter behind the registers and they're filling them all with these giant jugs. My husband and I came in for an early lunch today. Our food was acceptable but put together haphazardly. The lobby was kind of dirty with sticky floors and dirty tables and seats. My husband used the men's room and said it was disgusting and smelled of urine. We reported these issues to the management. They wiped our table down but we didn't see them address the bathroom while we were there. The woman at the counter, handling everything, that we interacted with was not friendly. I've been eating at this Miguels since 2002. It used to be the best one. The last few years, it's really gone down hill. I was in town visiting, ordered food on Saturday, it was wrong. Called them, they were very nice said it would be fixed if we came back Sunday morning. We agreed. Came back today and again the entire order is wrong. I called and the male that answered the could have cared less. Yes, they offered to fix it by remaking it right now or leaving it in a book for my next trip. Apparently the staff taking orders are not required to know the menu, so when you ask for them to remove something out of a burrito they ignore your request because they don't know the menu... Yes, it's just breakfast but when you look forward to it for 4 months it sucks when they mess it up twice and then are dismissive. Maybe try training your staff to know the menu. As a customer I shouldn't know more then the drive thru person. read more

Love love love Miguel's Jr.!! It's the only place I'll visit while driving from San Diego to Riverside. I have been to most of their locations, but always frequent the one in Murrieta. I stopped here this past Sunday for their delicious shredded beef tacos and noticed the drive-thru line was stacked all the way to the street coming in. The entrance I came in on was I believe - Compton Ave. I made my way to the drive-thru and waited with turn signal on. There were also vehicles waiting from the other side of the street entrance, and as I watched the vehicle come in after me, I was hopeful I would not be ignored when it was my turn to go. Well, I should of realized that, the employee taking orders from car to car, completely over-looked me and I honked and waved, but she turned the other way to take the order of the vehicle that came in after me. So, rather than blocking cars behind me, I noticed there was room for me to drive-in and so I waited and when the employee came to my window, I apologized but told her I was trying to get her attention that I was there before the vehicle you took the order from, and before I could complete that sentence, she was noticeably disgruntled and cut me off and said I should not have cut in front. She was unpleasant from that point forward, looking down and asked to take my order. I was not about to explain any further to her as I know how difficult it could be working in the hot sun and having to deal with such a miniscule issue. The tacos were fantastic as always! The owners I met way back in the 90s would not tolerate hasty unpleasant customer service. However, she was definitely in the right in her mind, and so I just took it thinking this would not be the case if the original owners were around. People have ultimately changed into such hasty one-sided views, it's no wonder we're all experiencing these type of events on a daily basis. I was doing a job training in the area and saw this place from the corner of my eye. I grew up with a friend who lives in Fontana and she raved about this place and told me I was crazy for liking Chipotle so much when there are places like Miguel's. So 10 years later, I finally tried this place. I have to admit, I wasn't that impressed. I love greasy hard shell tacos and was a little disappointed that I didn't enjoy this combo more. It includes to beef tacos, rice, and beans. I felt the entire dish was mediocre and didn't compare to Pepe's (a staple in the SGV).
