This location is decently clean and has fast service. I love getting the bean and cheese burritos. Would come again.

First I would like to say that Miguel Jr.'s is one of my favorite for their food except that my last visit at this location the ambiance and the upkeep of the location has gone downhill. The staff were hanging out in corner with their visitors while playing an instrument, joking around and being loud while the tables needed some major attention. Also there were some individuals that were walking by the establishment that made a loud pitched noise and the individuals in the establishment decided to also engage themselves by making the same noise and they went back and forth couple of times. We could not really enjoy our food with the unnecessary professional behavior between the staff and their friends. Hopefully this was a onetime experience at this establishment as I enjoy stopping in after shopping. read more

Went today on cinco de Mayo stood at the door 10-58 and manager saw us there waited till 11:05 to tell us they don't open till 12:00 found it rude of him to wait while he was standing with his workers laughing and taking and dancing. I went here today after class with a group of my classmates for lunch. This place is a pretty good Mexican fast food joint :) I recommend trying out the Miguel's Jr. Original burrito. The one I tried had the marinated chile verde pork, refried beans, Spanish rice and cheddar cheese. The pork was full of flavor and very juicy! Are you hungry yet? Honestly, I never would have stepped inside if it weren't for my classmates' suggestions to come here. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely come here again. :) read more

Went in yesterday at 11:00.There wasn't anyone in the restaurant. I ordered 2 burritos. One of them I didn't want any sour cream. I was waiting and I saw one burrito come up and the girl that took my order was mentioning sour cream on a burrito so I wanted to make sure it wasn't mine. So I tell her I didn't want sour cream. Miguel's Jr is a small Mexican food chain with several locations around the area. It started in Corona CA. If you are vegan, this place is not for you. They use lard on the beans. Real Mexican food has lard as ingredient on refríes beans. This is not totally authentic Mexican food, but tries to offer a more authentic option. If you do not want lard just not come. Don't put down the restaurant because they do not follow your diet preference. You may want to look for another place Food it is not cheap, but not too expensive either. The Riverside branch, is located at the Tyler mall by Macy's at one of the side mall entrance.. Love the garbage burrito and make it wet. It is the best. There are other options, like tacos, quesadillas and burritos. Breakfast menu includes Mexican and American options. Service is good orders was taken promptly. Cashier was polite and friendly. Just went here and had a bad experience. We ordered el potato burrito and the original burrito both carne asada. The original burrito was just beans cheese and rice and no carne asada which costs extra. When we went to let them know nicely they didn't believe us there was no carne asada because the beans rice and cheese comes in a different wrap! She still got us a new one with carne asada but her and a coworker were talking shit in Spanish about my fiancé that let her know there was no carne asada. They either thought we didn't speak Spanish for some reason or don't care at all that they are talking shit about him and he overhears. Either way it was not a good experience and they were very rude to think they could talk bad about a customer in front of them because they didn't believe us. I didn't know if they know this but they're not as perfect as they think they are and could accept that is it possible they could make a mistake. My family's order was missing a Taco and a drink tried to call but no one answers the phone and we couldn't even go back in person because the restaurant closed for the day. I never write reviews but this is how bad my order was... first they made my carne asada tacos with cheese and lettuce. Not onions and cilantro. So you guys don't even know your own simple recipe. My side of beans were burnt and covered in a comical amount of cheese. Finally, the female employee at the register kept us waiting for no reason. This and the fact that they were apparently completely out of Dr. Pepper were the cherries on top. Normally those are trivial issues to me, but my whole meal experience just plain sucked. Tried this restaurant recently, thinking it would be amazing. Boy was I wrong. It's mediocre at best. I had the two taco plate. I asked for hard shell tacos thinking I'd get tacos that are stiff and crunchy. I got a lightly grilled soft taco shell. The tacos came swimming in beans and rice, which made the tacos a bit soggy. The beans even mixed with the rice so my side dish was a soggy mess. The ingredients inside the taco definately tasted fresh, but bland. I've never had bland Mexican food. I went to the salsa bar and used onion, cilantro, and their own hot sauce to wake it up. It kinda worked except that hot sauce was not hot at all. I love spice, and yes I can appreciate that restaurants dial it down a bit, but that sauce was close to water. I didn't even get a kick from it. That sauce was even advertised at hot. Be careful of this sauce... Please. The shredded beef was tasty and flavorful but not what I'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. It was like the shredded beef that you get when your company hires a caterer to serve food at the company picnic. However, it was the best part of the plate. The chips were tasty but that guacamole should not be guacamole. I couldn't taste any avacado in it at all. It's not guac. It's that cheap green stuff you get from the store for $1/gallon for your drunk guests that can't tell the difference between guac and that green stuff. It's green, yes. But so is The Incredible Hulk. He's nowhere close to guac, and so is the guac served at Miguels. It's like eating paste with green food coloring and a pimento added. I would have not been surprised if Bruce Banner appeared, making my "green machine guac" disappear. I took one bite of that "guacamole" and instantly threw it away. The chips weren't bad. I had their lemonade, which was tasty. Not too tart, not too sweet. I liked that lemonade. So all in all, the restaurant is clean, service was friendly, and yet even though it's clearly a fast food restaurant, it's nothing like a hole in the wall with great food. Foods amazing as always but today there was a young guy working the register with long hair at the store in the Galleria at Tyler. Everytime he looked down he'd dramatically flip his head back to get his hair out of his face and it would fall right back in his face. Really bad experience with the Hispanic female manger today. I let the tall thin male manger know that my 3 taquitos were hard, I asked him if they were fried or warmed in the microwave and he told me no microwave is used there. He asked if I wanted my order remade and I asked if I could have flour tortillas instead, in which he went to order them from the cook and the female manger asked him, what's going on? and he told her that I said my taquitos were too hard and asked for flour tortillas instead . Then walked away and the female manger stood there talking to the cook in Spanish laughing and telling her " oh she's complaining bout the taquitos being hard, she's standing right hear listening, I don't know but I guess theyre hard " instead of her standing there talking bout my complain, why didn't she come and ask me what was wrong with my order or talk to the cook behind the kitchen?! I ate the flour tortillas with my rice and beans and brought back the taquito and told her she was rude for standing there and laughing instead of coming to ask me what was wrong with my order. And the fact that the female cook was EATING while cooking was extremely gross! How is that acceptable? Give her a break or hire more cooks. Of course she just took the food and didn't bother to apologize or recognize what she did and turned her back on me. I return the taquito so they could feel how hard it was, but I'm sure it was just tossed in the trash. I will not be returning to this location again. This location is a hot mess! The employees are very rude as if we the customers are bothering them and making them WORK for their $16 an hour! Decent shredded beef taco! I think it has a good taste. The tortilla is deep fried and soft. Not crispy, which is delicious. Generous portion of meat in taco. Sauce (salsa) is great! Beans and rice are decent. I also had the chili verde with potato burrito. Real good. 6 min to get order. Salsa bar dirty. Ok price! I give it a 4 taco rating. read more

Cashier was very rude. Order 3 wet burritos charged for them to be wet and there was hardly enough red sauce on the burritos to cover them. Burritos were half the size of what they used to be. Not worth the money kind you the whole store floor is sticky and your shoes stick and squeak everywhere you walk in the store and the soda machine is out of service. read more

I love Miguel's Jr. Have to have the BRC or shredded beef taco They other great plates but those are my go to. DONT FORGET THE SALSA!!!! You'll regret it lol My experience with the Galleria at Tyler is always great and they have wonderful customer service. Food comes in a timely manner and is always fresh. read more

Needed a place to eat before heading to the movies. My girl said lets go to Miguel's Jr. I said sure I like Mexican food. Didn't see any harm in going even though I am fond of the Potato Corner place right next to it. Man I was wrong... so wrong. The writings were on the wall. Like literally the writing explained about the couple who bought their first restaurant named it Miguel and bought a mini version of it and named it Miguel's Jr. There is a lot of talk about fresh food, fresh ingredients, homestyle, blah, blah, blah. None of which was true on my visit. I love Nachos and figured it is a safe bet. Decided to add Taquitos from the (Other Good Stuff) section of the menu. Miguel's Jr Nachos. A name sake item. Usually means that the item is good. Realized later that their Hot Sauce is the famous item on the menu. Both of which were lame. The nachos give you the choice of shredded beef of chicken. (I choice chicken) It has shredded cheese, sour cream, something that appears to be guacamole but isn't, refried beans, española sauce (didn't know until just now that was on it. I don't know what the stuff is but didn't help with the taste), oh and tomatoes. The fake guacamole mess was really bad. It would have been ok if they had at least stated on the menu that it was fake. A little disclaimer or something. Yuck!! The sour cream was also thin and it is debatable if it is real too. The chicken was so close the bland and I started to use the chips to scoop the fake guacamole away from everything else but it just seeped into everything. I will never try them again. The Taquitos were very dry. And they must have known because they poured that fake guacamole crap on them too. Completely ruined them. Not that they needed the help. The famous hot sauce. I was excited to see the sauce bar. (this was before I sat down to eat) I know I can deal with hot sauce so I didn't expect the stuff to be super hot, but I figured it would at least be hot. They need to change the name to infamous mild water downed sauce. The green sauce was a bit watered down too, but at least it had a little bit of flavor. Reading the reviews it seems that people say the burritos are good. I don't think I am coming back here to mess around and have them put that fake guacamole anywhere around me. But if I do (and it is very unlikely) but I am drunk and forgot that I don't like the place hopefully I remember the part about avoiding the fake guacamole and trying a burrito. I showed the server the ad on the phone and photo of the menu at drive thru for a price adjustment and he said the "computer is not set for discount so I can't do anything". What has happened to the food quality at Miguel's Jr.?!!! I ordered chips and guacamole and was served stale chips and WATERED DOWN avocado cream goop. Hubby's shredded beef tacos were COLD and consisted of soggy, flavorless, beige colored, meat that we assume was beef. It was disgusting!! The chicken quesadilla had an insubstantial amount of chicken... took a bite or two to even taste the chicken! The salsas were also watered down. The two stars are for cleanliness wow it is super clean in here that's always a good start because if they keep the front of the restaurant clean the back will always look the same guaranteed. The food here well that another thing the salsa bar has the typical Mexican salsas red green that's all good but neither one was hot hot just plain but I guess that cool I am jot here for the salsa I am here for the food according to the reviews this place is really good.
