The Hometown Favorite Pizza thin crust

Great experience! ordered a pizza today and the person on the phone was very attentive to my requests. I got there to pick it up and the person who was checking me out I believe was new as I had never seen them there before. They were very nice and professional. On top of it pizza was perfect 10/10

After receiving the wrong order, I was told over the phone by the person that took my order insisted that I didn't order that. We ordered barbecue wings, instead they gave us plain chicken wings with duck sauce on the side. WTF? Why would I "accidentally" order plain wings with DUCK SAUCE? Their only solution was to "drop off barbecue sauce". No? I want a refund or the food I ordered? Very disrespectful, will be taking my business elsewhere.

Cheesy fries with a great layer of microwave cheese on the top. Gross.

Mike's Place is open again with a pretty extensive menu. Loads of items, some very different from what they used to offer, are now available. I used to love their food and haven't had it for years. My mother found out they will deliver to Rockport so while I was visiting her on Saturday we decided to try out some of the new menu. It was difficult communicating with the woman answering the phone. In fact, we had to each try to speak with her and then call back as she quoted us around $8 for the total order and we knew that was wrong but she hung up while we tried to correct her initially... not a great start. Turns out, she had our order correct and we have no idea where the $8 price came from. The food took about an hour to come. They packed most of it in 1 bag that broke upon us trying to pick it up to bring in the house. The portions were huge and we felt like we got a lot of food for the $35 we spent. I wish I could say the food was good but the majority was very bleh to bad. I'm only giving two stars because my mother ordered the chicken kabob salad and despite it being mainly lettuce (1 cucumber...) she loved the dressing and chicken and used it for two meals. We tried the fried dough. So bland. And so hard. It didn't taste like what we expected at all and was a waste of money. My dish was a triple decker turkey sandwich that had a weird construction. Bacon, tomato and lettuce on the top then just a huge chunk of not so great tasting turkey in the middle. I think there was a little may and that was it. Not very tasty. The worst offender though had to be the cheesy fries. I have no idea how someone let that "dish" leave looking like it did. They took regular fries, threw them in a paper container and microwaved shredded cheese on the top to create a bland, greasy top layer of cheese on hard and greasy fries. So disgusting. They should be ashamed serving that to a customer. We will never go back which is unfortunate as I used to love them years ago. They need better quality control of the food leaving the store.

Shout out to mikes place for delivering me cold mozzarella sticks, cold chicken and stale grilled cheese! And best part is when I told the delivery driver I waited over an hour for the order that was supposed to take 30 mins, he slammed my door in my face and told me not to call back and get better food somewhere else! He claims he is the owner on top of that! Bravo

Ordered two roast beef sandwiches with mayo to go. At home, discovered they put sad BBQ sauce instead of mayo. Gave to dog. Beware .

Sauce on the pizza is too sweet, even for me. Sweet and spicy wings are good.

I just met her, but I felt like I was coming home. I waited for my friend to arrive & a couple bar seats to open up, and there were about two dozen people who came in after me while the wait was predicted to be an hour since most had just been seated, so they left. I wish they waited because it did clear up after about 30-40 minutes, but it was hard to predict on a Thursday at 7:30pm during a random downpour. I would encourage anyone to try The Burn, and to wait if needed. It's updated nicely, a bit cozy yet spacious when you're seated. Jess, our bartender, is also very welcoming and hospitable. I ordered a Gold Rush: ghost tequila, cointreau, pineapple, jalapeño & lime; I recall telling my friend, "this is exactly how I wish all my drinks tasted." I ordered the meatballs appetizer, and they got the haddock sandwich. The fries were excellent, and the meatballs were great. My friend loved their sandwich, fresh local haddock of course. Jess helped me make my decision between 3 options and it was perfect for my tastes and appetite of the evening. gold rush 10/10 meatballs 10/10 The Burn has excellent food & service, an elevated casual vibe, and warm, welcoming service. As you walk down the many streets of Gloucester you often wonder to yourself where the town comes together, where is there a harmonious relationship between the peoples? As this would seem to be a question hard to answer, it is actually quite simple and beautiful. You find this at Sclafanis. In essence this store is an Italian front with many memories, much love, great food, and great people. There are many places that people will remark to be "the greatest" or "the best" though using these terms would describe a restaurant that has yet to break free of its rudimentary cuisine, not the case at Sclafanis. The Pizmiaf is made on a fresh loaf of Sclafanis crispy Italian bread, followed by the fresh prosciutto sliced in house. After the base of this sandwich comes to form, it is topped with fresh mozzarella slices. Individuality is prided here so you are welcome to put as many of the fresh crisp vegetable toppings on as desired. Lastly this sandwich is finished with olive oil, a splash of balsamic vinegar and their fresh wonderful medley of Italian herbs. If this does not satisfy ones appetite for joy, good food, and good people than they have yet to rethink their feelings.

I always use Yelp to see what is around and this looked like a good option. So glad we stopped! My husband had the swordfish. He said the best swordfish he had the whole trip!!! It was lunch and I really wanted the Risotto. But, I didn't want anything super heavy. Glad I chose it anyway. Holy smokes was it delicious. The risotto was perfectly cooked and not too buttery. I have found Maine loooves their butter & often drown their dishes. This was perfect. The fish was amazing and I definitely over ate!! All 3 of us ordered the egg sandwich. It's cooked egg (like a puck) on 2 slices of plain bread with about 1 teaspoon of cheese that is such a small amount that it doesn't cover most of the egg. That's it. Not enough cheese, no butter, no salt, no pepper. Nothing. They don't even toast the bread. If we had tasked our 6 year old nephew to making us egg sandwiches, this is what he would hand us. My cousins had coffee. One hot and the other cold. Hot reportedly is pretty good and the iced is not very strong. I ordered an iced tea. When iced tea is made fresh from actual tea (a good thing), then sits in the fridge for 6 or 7 days (a bad thing), it gets a very distinctive stale taste and that's exactly what this iced tea had. It was old and stale. I threw it away and since the egg sandwich was so dry, I pulled a bottle of water I had in my beach tote to wash it down. My cousin asked the friendly staffer (super friendly, actually, so a shout out to them) for some salt and this turned into a task. She had to ask someone else and that person had to go off somewhere to get some from a plastic container. If you're going to serve unseasoned food, have salt available, please. I ordered a croissant, which was OK and my other cousin ordered a blueberry slab dessert that was smothered in so much icing that it was sickeningly sweet. We joked that eying it from the side, the icing was thicker than the pastry itself. One of us grabbed a knife and tried to scrape some off to no avail. It fell apart, none of us wanted any more and we tossed most of it. I like to support small businesses, but this was not a good experience for us.
