One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. We waited a month for our vehicle and they bumped the price up $2,000 after the vehicle arrived. We went there and Eric was the salesman we were working with this whole time. He was rude and unwelcoming, made us feel like a nuisance. I was wanting to buy the car for my husband but after his passive and rude attitude I requested to have my deposit back. I refuse to buy a vehicle from a dealership that doesn't respect their customers. ALSO, BE AWARE that the price you see online and on autotrader DOES NOT include the dealer handling fee. Be prepared to add $699 to the price of the car. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I had a bad experience with this Mike Shaw dealer, makes me hesitant to go to another one. read more

I bought my third Subaru from Cliff the online sales person and it was fast and smooth as silk. Can't thank him enough. I own an outback my wife owns a forester and my daughter just bought an impreza. We got the price at a great price. He gave me more for my daughters trade in than I thought he would and he even talked to the final closing guy to ask him to not do the high pressure warrantee sales pitch, at my request. It was a great experience and I thank him and the whole team. Also, I have stopped by a few times, even a year after I bought my Subaru, and there is always someone there to help me figure out the controls on the Car. I am not the best person on the technical stuff however, I did just upgrade from 8 track to cassettes. ;-) read more

I never been to a car dealership ever and excited to see the new 2018 line of Subaru's that is listed as inventory on this dealership's website. I drove 45 minutes to this location just to find out that anything 2018 is not in stock, on location. Asked to leave my contact information, which I declined (due to being upset about driving on my day off for nothing) but asked 4 more times to leave my contact information, in which made me uncomfortable since I wasn't being heard. As I was leaving, there was 5 employees huddled in a parking spot (reserved for customers) smoking. I don't care if people smoke but literally anywhere else than the customer facing areas. Just seemed more of a place for employees to hang out than genuinely caring about the workplace and where customers spend their time/money. If you read the reviews on this location, the manager's response isn't by the person listed, it's by someone else. Advice to this dealership: This place is very easy to never come back to. My husband and I purchased an Outback from Mike Shaw Subaru and we couldn't be more pleased with it. The process was simple and easy. Our salesman, Carrington, was an absolute gem. The one negative though - the man in the financial office we had to deal with when signing paperwork was pretty rude and abrasive about us not choosing any of their warranty packages. He made the comment that "If your windshield blows out on the way home, that's on you." So that was ridiculous and uncouth, but other than that everyone from the sweet woman at the receptionist desk to our personal salesman were a joy to be around. I only hope they can provide classier employees and some training for their financial office so customers don't walk away with a bad taste in their mouth. Run away! These people do not care about their customers. Had the worst vehicle buying experience of my life at Mike Shaw Subaru. Called salesman Tean (pronounced T-N) at 8:30 am when the business opened and told him in no uncertain terms that I wanted to buy a specific truck that I had been saving for for years that I had just found I their website. I told him that I had cash in hand and worked out the details for me to fly down and pick up the Tacoma the next day. He said he would go finalize the sale and call me right back with the final price so I could wire them the money. I waited for over an hour before calling back to see what was taking so long. Tean refused to answer my calls, so I called the front desk and learned that Tean had sold the truck to someone else who had walked in at 10:30. Unbelievably disappointed and upset at how I was treated. They will screw you at every turn. I also later learned that there is a whopping $600 "documentation fee" with every vehicle purchase, as well as dozens of other hidden fees and gimmicks. The price they list is just the beginning of how much you'll end up paying for a vehicle here. As I said before, run away from this dealership! read more

Stopped in for an oil change on our 2016 Outback 2.5i the we purchased August of 2015, the entire service staff is the nicest and most easy going service department around. Dropped the car at the service department and went on to see our salesman Cliff Swaim. Asked to test drive a 3.6R Outback. Cliff took us out, showed us what he had on the lot and handed us some keys. After a 5 miles test drive we were sold on the bigger motor. Went back and sat down to work on numbers, it literally took 4 minutes and were signing on our newer 2016 Outback. If your looking at reviews for this or any Subaru dealership, look no further. Drive in and ask for Cliff Swaim, he will take care of you. I have to say I have been blown away with the personalized attention Mike Shaw Subaru has to offer. Negotiations were not too intense and they really worked with me to get a fair trade on my Jeep so that my payments landed where I needed them to be. Every time I walked into that dealership everyone I worked with remembered my name and seemed genuinely excited to see me again. My journey started with Greg and King (Finance Manager, Sales). They were rock solid! Fun to talk to and very customer focused. After negotiations I partnered up with Matt (Sales). Matt is really the guy that blew me away. His product knowledge on the WRX was outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable driving the vehicle and that I was highly satisfied with my choice. Matt was definitely the best part of my entire experience. After a lengthy test drive we headed back to the dealership and went through all the paperwork. I partnered back up with Greg where he throughly explained all the paperwork and answered all of my questions. The guy was nice enough to stay 30 minutes late while I ran through a plethora of questions with him. Thanks Greg! Overall I am highly satisfied with my purchase and my journey with Mike Shaw. There was a small hiccup during the initial procurement of the vehicle where I felt that the dealership had fallen short of my expectations. I Bought a great 2015 subie from them, part of the deal was they would fix the unresponsive cruise control button or wiring. Long story short I made three appointment in 4 months (wait time was 2-3 weeks out for each appointment). First second and third I sat there for over 3 hours while they "fix it" After third time not being able to fix CRUISE CONTROL on a 2015 Subaru that you guys SPECIALIZE IN, they sent me to the place across the street to the ram dealership right next to mike Shaw. (Not without a 2-3 week app date of course) So now 4th appointment on a 18k car I paid in cashier check full. I Make an appointment with the ram dealership that mike Shaw sent me to and told me to call, talk to the guy who "knows" how to fix it; and says it'll take 4hrs max . I get to the dealership and not only do they all of a sudden need to keep my car for 4 DAYS. Which wasn't possible for me with work at the time. But I was treated poorly. I understand it was a busy time last summer-dec, but the lack of communication and what they're going to tell you and being unable to get ahold of my salesman because they let him go, is just absurd to me. I get that that happens but 4 appointments for a cruise control button that just doesn't set is ridiculous. Especially to tell me they have to hold my car for 4-5 days because they were " super busy". Well then what's the point of an appointment?????? I'm disappointed in them. Anyways almost a year later Finally making this review and last message I left was to call me back to reset an appointment. No call back. Would not buy another car from them, strictly on service and communication/ attitudes. Wish we could have remedied this. Recently I purchased my second car through Mike Shaw. As the daughter of a car salesman I know what a good dealership and a bad dealership looks like. I'm completely blown away with how wonderfully I was taken care of at Mike Shaw. We were able to get a very difficult transaction taken care of in a matter of hours without any frustration or headache on our end even though I know it was quite a pain for them. Both Ricky the salesman and the Nick the General Sales Manager went above and beyond to get us exactly what we needed. BEWARE!!! I returned my lease to these guys. They claimed the car sat for a month until Subaru of America came and picked it up. In actuality, they put my license plates BACK on my car, and racked up 31 separate tolls (for about $140) under my name 3 WEEKS AFTER I turned the car in. Mike Shaw Subaru and Subaru of America just stopped responding to emails when I began asking questions. They are also refusing to pay the tolls even though acknowledging they were in possession of the car. They refused to respond to the Better Business Bureau. This is a shady dealership at best, and I would take your business ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

Took vehicle in for 2 recalls. Very friendly staff. Prompt service. Really nice waiting room and sales center. Clean. People that worked there were friendly. Service only took 50 minutes. 40 min less than they quoted me!!! Main thing was the friendliness of the staff. Service people were all professional. Cant say the same for LHM Jeep next door, whom I have dealt with numerous occasions before when I owned a Wrangler. LHM is a Dirty dealership, dirty sales people, dirty sales practices, slow service. I'm so disappointed in this place that it has completely taken away from the excitement of my new car. They charged me over $1,000 more than they should have for a warranty and then told me I had to come back in to re-sign the paperwork. I came back in, waited 30 minutes for someone to help me and all they would do for me is have me sign a cancellation form!! Now I only get a prorated refund and my payment doesn't change. They took advantage of an easy sell because I knew the car that I wanted when I got there. The first sales person was a complete jerk and the second one was not very helpful. Dishonest sales department. A bad enough experience that I would fly to Japan to buy my next Subaru if Mike Shaw were the last dealer in the US. They sold me a used Subaru with severe hidden damage that we recognized shortly after buying. Their staff offered 1/10th of a $3000 repair, and literally tried to intimidate us in a closed room into not asking for a full repair. The whole experience left an awful taste in my mouth. We will go somewhere more honest next time. I understand the good reviews Mike Shaw has gotten on yelp - it is difficult to screw up selling a new Subaru. read more

Do not buy a used car from this dealership, they clearly do not care and will sell you a lemon. We bought a car from them earlier this year. Within one month we needed to replace the alternator. When we brought this to their attention, they couldn't care less and said it was our problem. Now the car is completely dead. Our mechanic says that shoddy work was performed prior to us purchasing the car and it has finally fallen apart. We are out $8k and there is nothing we can do about it. I ended up with exactly a SUV that meets all my needs. It was extremely busy (Black Friday) which was not the reason I went there. Let me first say, my salesperson Jaime (hope I spelled that right, Hi-mae is the phonetic way to say it), well, he was great. Very friendly, attentive, listened to what I said and got me to purchase a brand new Subaru Impreza which I absolutely love! This particular day, I had planned to visit 3 different dealerships with no intent to purchase that day. I wanted to get a feel for the vehicles and brands, then go home and think it over. I wasn't even sure I wanted a Subaru. But, Subaru, the brand itself is enough to make a girl take a look. After trying out the Impreza, I was impressed. Then came negotiating and no one likes that. I don't think I got an amazing deal but I was satisfied with the number we had agreed upon. All of that process was great, however Subaru Finance department there is the absolute biggest scam I've ever seen! So, first I had to wait almost an hour to speak with Frank and get the papers signed. No big deal I guess. Finally go back to meet with Frank and he keeps trying to push some service plan on me, one which I have no interest in. After him talking about that for a good 10 minutes, then he says "what if I can add it to your plan for only $3 extra dollars a month on your payment?" At that point I reluctantly agreed. Now, I will admit, I am at fault here as well for not reading everything completely and not asking the right questions. Lesson learned. But I would hope that just because a young female goes to buy her first car, the people would respect her and not take advantage of my own naivety. Frank never once spoke about what my interest rate was, or what exactly that plan was adding to my balance I now owe the bank. I left there feeling satisfying with a number in my head as to what I had taken a loan out for. To my great surprise, my first payment slip came in the mail and my loan balance was $5000 MORE than the agreed upon sale price with taxes and fees. Low and behold, that $3 extra a month was costing me almost $5000! I was so mad, naturally, when I noticed this so I called Mike Shaw Subaru. Whoever I talked to in finance said he understood my anger and that it sounds like nothing was correctly explained to me. He said he would have Frank call me. (This was on a Friday) Then shortly thereafter, my awesome salesperson Jaime called me just to see how I like the car (he's so sweet). I explained to him the situation and he said he would have Frank call me. I called Subaru one more time before closing that day and never got ahold or a return call from Frank. Same thing Saturday. So today, Monday, I called him up, finally got ahold of him and he said he was too busy to return my call Friday and Saturday. Frustrated, I explained my surprise to the $5000 added to my loan and he basically called me a liar and said he explained it and I accepted. Long story short, he told me he'd take it off and not charge me for it. I went into Mike Shaw today and had it removed but I'm still steaming that someone tried to blatantly take advantage of me like that. Maybe use Mike Shaw to find a car but DO NOT let them do your financing! read more

I have had two very disappointing experiences with the service department at this location. I purchased a new car and within a few days I heard a strange noise when I turned, so I made an appointment. I waited for 4 hours, just for them to tell me there was nothing wrong. I was sure that there was something wrong, so I took it to the dealership I purchased it from, and the mechanic was able to diagnose the problem within 10min. I had them call the service department at Mike Shaw to let them know that there was something wrong and that they needed to fix. I got my car back after needing 5 parts replaced. Three weeks later I'm sitting in traffic during an extremely windy morning and my under guard gets torn off, so they clearly didn't attach properly when putting back on. When I go in and explain the issue, the rude, sarcastic employee tells me that I probably hit a plastic bag and that I caused the damage! I know exactly what happened and I even pulled over and took pictures as soon as I heard something (my under guard getting blown off). The employee who "helped" me, was rude and treated me like I was an idiot. I will be taking my car to a dealership that actually knows how to provide good customer service. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE! I purchased a Crosstrek from Jaime in July 2018. When he explained the features of the car, he said it came with satellite radio, pointed to where I could find it on the console, and said he would need to activate the XM radio trial. After 3 weeks and one follow up email and phone call from me, he told me the model of the car does not come with satellite radio. I was disappointed that a salesperson did not know the features of the car and frustrated that after the purchase, I did not have the features I was promised. I called Matt, the sales manager, who said he would send me a $50 gas card - tiny compensation for an uninformed sales team. After 3 weeks, the gas card had not arrived in the mail. I visited the dealership and Matt said he forgot to send it. A week later, I'm still waiting for the gas card, and an email from Jaime said they sent it to the wrong address - even though Matt wrote down my address and I confirmed it. Jaime did not respond to my email when I asked how that happened. I do not feel like a valued customer and will not be returning to the dealership for future purchases, nor will I be recommending that anyone go here to purchase a vehicle. Update: The customer service department offered to overnight me a $100 check. It has been over a week, and I still haven't received a check. Three messages to Jocelyn, the customer service representative, have not been returned. I reached out to the general manager weeks ago with no response. I have contacted the regional office. I appreciate the sales man who told me that I could not afford a car, even after the slight pressuring to finance a car that I could not afford. Who I do not appreciate is Cassandra on the phone telling me to come in because there would be options for me "for sure," which prompted me to take an Uber there to see what they had. I spent over $50 in Uber and Lyft rides to get there and back home again in a snow storm because they are just so intent on getting people in to their branch to buy things they cannot afford. If she would have told me on the phone, I would have been fine and totally understood that, but the fact that I was assured there were options in my price point and there weren't, really upsets me. This is not good customer service, or good human kindness. Even if I were able to buy a new car off the lot tomorrow, I would never go back to this place. read more

I had a very pleasant experience with Mike Mullen, the internet sales manger, here at Mike Shaw. I was on the search for a used car for my daughter and found one via the internet here. I sent an email and Mike quickly responded, I let him know which car I was interested in, and he let me know it was just traded in and had to go through inspection and that he would drive it to make sure it was in good operating condition before I decided on driving out and seeing it. Well, he did drive it after inspection and gave me an honest opinion and that there were better cars, in my price range, on the lot (there were some mechanical issues with the one i wanted and he was up front and honest with the information). I ended up not buying a car from Mike Shaw Subaru but that was just based on not having what I wanted in stock at the time. I'm writing this because I thought it was commendable that somebody in the business of selling cars was honest and told me that this may not be the best car for me. I know car dealers get a bad reputation but in this instance Mike won me over and when I'm in the market again I will start with him first. Thanks Mike for looking out for me!! read more

I recently bought a brand new car from this dealership. Customer service is not their top priority. Once they make a sale, they no longer care about you. I had my windows tinted at the dealership, and the tint job came back full of bubbles. I asked them to fix it and when I got my car back the second time, the job was still not done well. At this point they refused to do any further work. At first they tried to put the blame on me. When I proved them wrong, they implied that I was being too picky. When I spend thousands of dollars on a brand new car, I expect quality work and good service. With several other Subaru dealerships in the area, I would recommend checking out the other ones first. read more
