I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Mike's Appliance. The technician arrived in a personal vehicle and appeared unprepared for the repair, despite me previously explaining which part would likely need to be replaced. They did not bring the necessary part and had to reschedule the appointment for the following week. After rescheduling, I was informed that my stacked dryer would need to be unstacked before the repair could be completed. I was unable to do this myself, so another appointment was scheduled 7 days later with two technicians. 16 days after the first appointment, on the day of the appointment, my arrival window changed multiple times -- first 10 AM, then 12 PM, then 2 PM finally arriving at 3 again in personal vehicles. An hour before arrival, I was told I would be charged $250 for the technicians to unstack the dryer because this portion was not covered under the warranty. I completely understand that additional labor may not be covered, and I was willing to pay it. My issue is the lack of communication and professionalism throughout the process. At no point during the prior scheduling conversations was I informed there would be an additional charge. Being told only an hour before the appointment left me frustrated. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, poorly communicated, and unprofessional. The admin is rude and does not understand what customer service is. It was a disappointing experience. First the admin staff was unable to update my personal information to notify me correctly. Secondly, I waited 2 weeks for the initial visit. When they finally came out the tech took about 5 minutes to identify the issue which we kinda knew what it was. The igniter. Why this service would not stock such a common part is beyond me. Anyway it was estimated 8-10 days. Then, a call was placed to the wrong contact # reschedule my appt due to the tech having Covid without confirming the date with first. Finally my appt was scheduled almost a month after the initial contact. Lastly, knowing he had Covid recently, the tech showed up without a mask. SMH I could've I had someone come and repair it in one day. We went with an LG cert because we assumed it was better. It was disappointing to say the least. read more

Our appointment was scheduled and kept, even though it wound up being on a still-icy driving day. We were kept in the loop as the appointment drew closer. Julian was thorough in his investigation, and when no obvious cause for the problem appeared, contacted the manufacturer directly. With a bit more detective work the problem was fixed with a relatively inexpensive part, and the repair was reasonably priced. read more

This company is so unprofessional. The lady that answers the phone is so rude. The technician had to google what needed to be done to repair my washer and calling other techs to assist. I paid them $265.00 and the have yet to give me a receipt. I was told they'd email it to me and I've called and they just hang up the phone and when they do answer I'm told we'll email it to you. Our warranty with Frigidaire had mikes appliance come out to fix this horrible noise our refrigerator was making. It turns out our refrigerator wheel had fallen off track, and he was able to fix it within 5 minutes. He was also able to figure out why our ice maker in the freezer was not working. We submitted another request, they ordered the part, and were able to fix the ice maker in our freezer as well. They were extremely responsive, worked quickly, and we are extremely grateful that they fixed our problem. read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Before Jason R came over I emailed (as instructed) the info on the TV and what needed to be replaced. A simple power unit (PSU), which happens to be a very common repair with my model. Didn't mean shit to Jason as he very rudely came in and ignored everything I told him and went straight to looking for damages so that he could void my warranty. The thing is, this wasn't a warranty claim! Even after telling him this he continued taking pictures inside my home despite me making it clear he didn't have permission to do so. Sensing his hostility and after being disrespected in my own home I asked him to leave. I then found out he fabricated a crack on my screen to report to the manufacturer. My screen is not cracked. This wasn't a screen issue. This wasn't customer service and this wasn't professional. I am currently looking at my legal options and am thinking about litigation against Mike's Repair. read more

Fridge fixed but delays could have been avoided and handled better. First appointment pushed back 2 days and only informed by text. Tech came on a Friday at 9am but failed to order part till Monday. Finally got tracking number from LG and it was delivered on Wednesday but when I called on Friday to ask about delay, they did. It check part in and was just sitting there. Instead of getting me schedule asap it was pushed out another 5 days on a Wednesday. Once tech left I had to clean up screws and cut piping from the floor. Mike's was recommended by LG to fix our broken refrigerator. First available appointment was a week out. The technician came out and after almost three hours determines that the "new" compressor he put in is actually bad. Doesn't know how long it will take to get a new compressor. More than 5 business days have now passed and there is still not a new compressor to be seen and nobody knows when it may magically appear. Both receptionists are extremely rude, insensitive, and completely indifferent and should be taken off of any kind of "customer service" forum as they clearly lack the knowledge of how to take care of a customer. We had mikes appliances come out and service our dishwasher through our home warranty provider. Terrible communication, they told me they'd be at my home between 10am-5pm with a 30 minute notice prior to arrival. 10 minutes to 5pm, I called Mike's appliances and asked if they still planned on coming out since I haven't heard anything and it's almost 5pm. They said yes, but the tech was at another service call and I was next. It would've been nice to know I was at the END of their route instead of waiting around on edge all day wondering if he's going to come in 30 minutes or if I missed a call although the phone is glued to my bad waiting. He finally came and did his thing, told me it was good to go. I ran a cycle to be sure and the dishwasher ended up flooding the entire kitchen within 15 minutes. The water ran up the walls, ruining drywall and seeps under cabinets, swelling the cabinet corners. In this short time it got behind the dishwasher, stove and refrigerator. I called Mikes appliances right away to see if the service tech could come right back and of course they were closed for the night and wouldn't answer any calls/texts on the number the service tech used to call me and say he was on the way. I ended up pulling out the dishwasher and they didn't connect the hose after replacing the motor. After all this I was so irritated and even more upset because I have 2 young children under the age of 2, unable to make dinner in a disassembled kitchen, (It's now almost 8pm by the time I finished cleaning up all the water and had fans going). I didn't start dinner before hand because I didn't want to be cooking when he showed up and have to stop for him to complete the repair. I then received a call the next day AT NOON, not even first thing, asking if they could schedule me 3 days later. No. You're not welcome back here. The refrigerator repair took two trips. One to diagnose the problem and order parts, and a second one to install the replacement part. The service was excellent both times. Dave was courteous and efficient and didn't make a mess. My fridge works great now! The communication was great the first time and non-existent the second time. Not sure why. As long as I kept calling the company to do my own status checking, it was fine. They would give me good answers. I just felt that they should have done the calling, at least to notify me of the service date. read more

I mean, how much lower could this bring their rating down? First off, receptionist who answers the phone is clueless and unfriendly. Based off of reviews on here, nobody would use this company, but unfortunately, it's the company Lowe's forces upon you for any service you need done on their appliances. I called, had someone come out and they said they would order the part. Okay, no worries. I called 3 weeks later to inquire about the part. Guess, what, they hadn't ordered it. It would be another 7-10 days. Called 20 days later. Oh, the part will be in tomorrow. Scheduled an appointment. Didn't show up. Scheduled another appointment. Didn't show up again. They have a thing where you need to stay by your phone every minute because there is a 10 minute window to reply to their text otherwise they move on to another appointment. Wouldn't it be smarter to at least try to go to to the appointment so A) you don't upset customers who maybe aren't glued to their phones and B) where do they otherwise go? They can only slot so many appointments! Also, don't they think if they looked after their customers who are referred to them through Lowes, these customers would use them for many other occasions? My less-than-year-old Samsung washing machine stopped working on 8/27/2022. This is NOT my first rodeo with electronics going out and would troubleshoot my Maytag model all the time. When my washing machine would not turn on, I went to Samsung's website and ran all their troubleshooting instructions but none of them worked. I created a ticket and got a number & contact information for Mike's. I called on Monday to get the ball rolling and got a Wednesday August 31 appointment. Jason R. was my technician and he was very polite & respectful in our interactions. He diagnosed the issue as a defective computer board. He confirmed power is flowing but the computer board is no longer communicating to power the washer on. I thanked him for diagnosing the problem and he said he would put the order for the part in. I called Mike's appliance on Friday September 2 as I hadn't heard anything back. I'm a Stage IV Cancer patient so having clean linens, clothes, and my therapy animal's blankets is pretty important in the house. They told me they were going to push out a set of trouble shooting instructions that I received on Thursday September 1 from Samsung that WERE THE EXACT SAME TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS I'D PERFORMED BEFORE THE LAST OPTION TO SUBMIT A REPAIR REQUEST. Admittedly I was irritated and sharply told the CSR that I'd already done that and wouldn't have bothered to create a ticket if it had worked. She relayed the message to what I guess was management and she told me to call back on Tuesday and they would order the part then. I asked if there was a way to notate on my ticket to order the part and was told no. Yes this sounds like first world problems but c'mon, you don't have a set of post-it notes you can put on the desk to remind yourself to order this part?? Up until this bungling & passing the buck to a troubleshooting auto text, I'd been happy with their response time. I will be back to update as I'm still going to give them a chance to rectify the situation. read more

Okay, Quick update to my review on Mike's Appliance: I never received a callback about my LG refrigerator, even though it's been broken for two weeks and Arturo had promised to replace a fan within that time. No surprise - Mike's technician's don't know their craft, and I think THEY know that. They can replace a fuse or do a power reset on a unit, maybe properly defrost a frozen compressor, but not much else. PLEASE look elsewhere for any detailed service work. Or just do it yourself, you're almost certainly better than they are. After two weeks of downtime, my refrigerator is in worse shape than when they started (I now have TWO inop ice makers, instead of the one that I started with), and I had to pay them a $65 deposit for them to leave me worse off than I started. Do not recommend, EVER, for ANYTHING. read more

I do not recommend. $65 is charged beforehand for the service call on a refrigerator. 4 days before they can come out. I sent a picture of the model number days before the appointment. Serviceman comes out, looks at it for 5 minutes, and says yes it's the compressor. No parts were brought and it's going to be more than a week before they can come back and repair it. The estimate given was $780 plus the $65 service call fee with only a 90-day warranty. I can get a new refrigerator for less. A waste of money and time. read more

This place is horrible. We had to use them because of our home warranty. They do not carry any parts. They took over a month to fix a simple microwave. They missed appointments without even a call. Their service window is 10am-5pm...insane. When you call them, 90% of the time it goes to VM with the message that everyone in the office is in training, and you are unable to leave a message. Over all just horrible communication, customer service is non existent, and they take forever. I don't think they even want customers, they seem annoyed every time you talk to them, if you can get a hold of them. read more

Our venthood stopped working after only 3 weeks and it is brand new. We were directed to Mike's for warranty service. The service appointment went well, the repair guy took pictures of the wires that were burned up and said replacement part would be ordered and would take about 2 weeks. After waiting 2 weeks and following up, we found out from the manufacturer that no parts have been ordered and when calling Mike's they had no idea what was going on with our repair. We have gone 2 months without a working venthood and it appears no one at this company cares. read more

unfortunately, was the company that my extended warranty provided I did not choose these people. They came to my home to work on the dishwasher repair. The technician did not reinstall the dishwasher correctly. It's crooked and off-balance. After I called back to let them know that the technician did not reinstall the unit correctly. The attendant on the phone proceeded to have every excuse book on why not to come back and once they spoke to Arturo, which I believe is probably the owner not Mike they all agreed that coming out to complete their job correctly as they found it was not going to happen and the technician blatantly lied that the unit was not installed properly from the beginning. I would've never have gone with these people and I certainly do not recommend them at all. Good luck if you get them to come out to your home and if you do have the misfortune of getting them out to your home for whatever reason keep an eye on the technician and make sure that you stay on top and document everything because they will make every excuse in the book not to do a good job read more

They came on a Thursday and said I would know the price the next day. Never heard back. Called the following Monday and Tuesday. Called Wednesday. They said they called once to let me know the estimate but couldn't leave a message. I'm sure you can call a phone more than once, but either way no contact. Called for a refund and Mike made it to be my fault for their poor customer service. Asked for a refund and he said "I'll give you half". I don't expect even that really. Never again. This young man was the absolute nicest, most professional and knowledgeable technician we have ever encountered. Very courteous and respectful young man! He efficiently fixed the problem and offered to clean the space behind the stove, which we declined. [I have no affiliation with Mike's, just FYI]. I couldn't have asked for more from the service I received from Mike's Appliance Service. I'm taking the time to review because I was worried when I went online and saw all the 1 star reviews BUT $TOP FOR A MOMENT & THINK ABOUT IT... If they have a few Techs each going on multiple calls per day, that means they easily do 100 jobs per week x 52 weeks. That's thousands of jobs per year! However, they only average 7 bad reviews per year. Only averaging 7 complaints out of THOUSANDS of jobs every single year, most companies would be envious! My personal experience merits that I give them a 5 star score (and it is well-deserved). The appt was easy to set up. On the day of the appt, I called first thing to get a better time estimate for the day. The lady answering the phone was nice and courteous and said she would call me back when she had a better idea of the time frame. She honored her word and called me back with a 3 hour window. 30 minutes beforehand, I received a call letting me know the Tech would arrive shortly. The Tech, Andrew, even called to let me know he was 15 minutes away. When Andrew arrived, he was courteous and professional. I was home alone and felt perfectly safe. Andrew was FANTASTIC!!! He explained what he saw from the beginning and laid out possible outcomes. Being an electrician's daughter, I am used to helping out so I stayed nearby just to learn from what he was doing. He explained everything as he went. He was patient and methodical in his work, not rushing just to finish the job. At the end, he again took the time to explain what he saw and pointed me in the direction he thought best. He even helped to communicate the situation to the manufacturer so that it could be resolved in the best possible way. If Andrew is your Tech, then rest easy and feel confident your problem is being handled by a courteous and knowledgeable professional. All around, it was a great experience for me. read more

A part needed to be ordered and they agreed to call when it came in. Very professional and on time. This is something I have not had the same experience with others.
