Not Happy at all! I have used this shop several times in the past. Once being a total dweeb I had them look at my disposal since it stop working. (Of course, the person could have mentioned the reset button) but the tech came in, went straight to the reset and pushed it...the tried it. Worked Fine! That was my fault. Recently, I had them come out because of a Oven door was not shutting correctly. Tried as I could...look up the fix on the web and finally took the door completely off so it would not damage the other hinge. Called Mike's to reattach the door with a possible new hinge on one side. Long story short....Tech came out...and an estimate of four (4) new hinges were needed. (for both ovens) I called about the estimate and Mike mentioned he would talk to the tech. When I sourced a different shop to do the work, they suddenly had the parts and were going to do the job. I had already was on the hook for the estimate so agreed to get the job done. I was expecting to pay a bit of a premium....but not to the tune of $400+ with all four hinges replaced. (supposedly?) I told her I had not purchased it from them and she told me they would not repair it. We recently purchased a home and needed a washer, dryer, fridge, dishwasher and new microwave. At first, we were overwhelmed with all of the options for so many appliances but we quickly found that Mike's is the best appliance store ever. Even though we looked at the same appliances from Home Depot and Lowe's, Mike's ended up being cheaper. Mike and his staff are easy to work with and never tried to up-sell us on unnecessary features. The team worked with our schedule to install the appliances perfectly so that when we moved in, there wouldn't be any issues. Fast forward a month and our dishwasher has a weird issue with lots of stagnant water. I called Mike's in the morning and a repair tech was at our place at 2 that same afternoon. It took 20 minutes for him to fix it and, more importantly, he taught us how to fix the problem ourselves if it ever happens again. And he didn't charge us for a full visit because it was a small repair. I wish we had a reason to buy more appliances so I could go to Mike's again. read more

Whenever I need a part, such as a oven element or a part for the dishwasher, or a bit of advice on what I can do to fix something DIY, i always head to Mike's appliances. They are friendly, neighborly, easy to work with and want the business. Avoid Sears and Best Buy and Walmart because they are just outsiders- head to a business that supports the local economy- head to Mike's! Very nice showroom. All the latest models. All appliances you could ever need. ( Actually I'm needing a dog washer if there is such a thing) I recommend Mike's Appliances if you need a new energy efficient washing machine or refrigerator. We have been going to Mike's Appliances for many years. All of the staff- including Mike and all the staff and dogs are all very friendly. We were so happy they replace garbage disposals. Of course ours broke on a weekend and they were so kind on the phone and made an appointment for 2 days later. Mike has come to our home on several occasions to check or repair things himself. It's nice to be able to stop by and look at things and have no pressure to buy things. The staff is always helpful with questions. read more

I'd go to Mike's Appliances over the big stores any day if only because it's a locally owned business and your money is going into the neighborhood. Besides that, I'd been recommended to Mike's by many people, including someone that's known Mike and his family for years, they're good people and very helpful in the store. I bought my washer and dryer and fridge all in one day, they had it loaded in my truck in a flash, and threw in all the accessories that Sears would charge an arm and a leg for, free of charge. They also helped me fill out all the rebate forms before I left so I can get some money back from the utilities. This is a good business in my opinion read more

Mike's Appliances was easy to work with and did not charge any extra fees to deliver install and take away my old appliance other than the standard $65. fee. Further, when it turned out that the dryer I had chosen did not fit in my space, Mike's Appliances and their delivery guys were extremely helpful in coming back the next day (could have been the same day had I chose that) with a different model that would fit in my space. While their prices are not discounted or anything, I would not hesitate to patronize Mike's Appliances again in the future. I was so impressed with Mike's Appliances, I had to write a quick review. My husband and I were preparing our house for sale, and there were SO many details to take care of, I was definitely overwhelmed. One detail was to replace the oven, which was not functioning, and had an expired service warranty. I went to the big stores, Home Depot and Lowes, and was blown away that I couldn't get them to follow up on the "in home measurement" appointment, or call me back when I called and the "guy I needed to talk to" wasn't in on that day of the week. Fed up, I thought I would try a local company instead, so I called Mike's appliance. Within minutes of being on the phone with me, they had talked me down from buying a new oven and instead got me to set up a repair appointment. They came out the next day, fixed the oven in 20 minutes, and charged me a fraction of what I had thought I would have to spend. Easy-peasy, on to the next task! Not only was their service good, but they definitely earned my loyalty by not letting me spend $1000 on a new oven I didn't need to buy. Never again, with the big stores! So, we basically spent $150 for a misdiagnosis of a broken latch and $100+ dollars running to a wash a fold service, suffered the stress of no washing machine and no part for 6 weeks, only to be told that, "Yeah, the latch could be fiddled with and made to work, but it just as likely won't work the next day." That information would have been important to us up front, or at least after there was a concern of getting the part in by the estimated time. Our washing machine's door latch wouldn't catch, so we called Mike's Appliances. The repairman who came out was curteous and professional, and he said that the latch was bad; we would have to order the part and schedule a follw up once the part was in. 10-12 business days was what we were told. 3 weeks later, still no part. We were told the manufacturer didn't have teh part and that we were at their mercy. We left for vacation, giving instructions for our house sitter to not use the machine and keep in contact with Mike's. Three weeks after that, still no part. Then, when we had cleaners come in to prepare the house for our return, we forgot to tell them that the latch was broken, so they simply started the washing machine with NO PROBLEMS. read more

I recently purchased a fridge from Mike's. The woman (please forgive me for not getting a name) was wonderful to work with. The two delivery experts were prompt and a pleasure to deal with. I then changed my mind about the model and they AGAIN went out of their way to work with me so that I was satisfied, something they did not have to do. This is the epitome of old school customer service. We have used Mike's Appliances twice in the last two years. The first time they installed a combination microwave/oven unit. While we were waiting for the unit (it took a few weeks since one we wanted was not yet available), Mike's loaned us a microwave. The unit was shorter than the previous unit and they installed some paneling, which we then varnished. The second time just this week, they installed a new dishwasher. This presented some problems (not due to Mike's) and it took a long time for the installation, but the installer was very friendly and patient. read more

What the heck is this 2 1/2 stars business. One thing you can count on at Mike's is a straight answer, upfront: no beating around the bush. If they have what you need or can help you, they do a great job. If they don't service your appliance, they tell you where you can get it repaired. I just bought a range from them. Home ripoff tried a bait and switch, offering 20% off. When I got to HmDpt, it became 10% off. Mike offered a price that was higher than HD, but for the extra $20, it was way worth the great service and almost immediate delivery. I also have to add, his nice act isn't just an act. My daughter, 8 yrs old, thinks Mike is her hero for his efforts to supply her with her favorite toy: cardboard boxes. read more

Today Richard showed up in the time frame given, diagnosed the issue quickly, replaced hoses as needed and I'm back in business! Previously (about 3 yrs) we purchased a Maytag condo washer & dryer which was great from Mike's appliances. They work great without any problems. Just recently we up graded to Maytag refrig and stove and new stove hood. Delivery and install worked out great. We needed the stove / Oven heat settings to be increased and Mike came out for adjustments which turned out to be just right. We are again very happy with all of our appliances from Mike's. We like the no finger marks on the Stainless steel too. We also know how to contact them to get service too. They are more abit more expensive than the big box stores but their follow through makes me willing to pay more. read more

When our elderly washer finally gave up the ghost, we did not hesitate: the next morning we went to Mike's Appliances, bought a new one, and were washing clothes later that afternoon. We've done business with Mike for many years, nearly two decades, and not once have we been disappointed. We've bought an oven, range top, washer, and parts. I've gone in there for a dryer knob replacement and he found one in a box and just handed it to me. He has saved us a ton of money, often suggesting easy do-it-yourself repairs rather than service or replacement. He always answers questions and explains things simply and accurately. The place has a family feel to it and is comfortable, yet highly professional at the same time. Prices are competitive and the customer service is exemplary. Win-win. read more

Mike is not the nice guy he appears to be. I was referred to him by Electrolux for a service request. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Electrolux providing end to end details on my washer's error code and paying for an extended warranty that Electrolux confirmed would even cover a new washer if necessary. I was told Mike would call me within 48 hours. That was last Thursday. It is now end of day Wednesday and I have spent an entire week waiting for Mike's call then getting the runaround from him that Electrolux supposedly cancelled my service request. Upon calling Mike myself on Tuesday after not hearing from him for five days, he initially referred me to other appliance repair places and informed me that Electrolux cancelled my order. I immediately called Electrolux to get confirmation only to learn that not only was the request not canceled, but there were two open tickets sent to Mike for my washer. Why would Electrolux partner with a company with no accountability? Mike says in his voicemail that you can text his cell for a faster response. I texted his cell Tuesday upon speaking with Electrolux and didn't receive response until 6AM the next morning via phone. Not the message I'm looking to wake up to. When Mike and I finally connected via phone Wednesday afternoon he told me Electrolux's warranty doesn't cover his service, stating several loopholes that were never brought to my attention by Electrolux. In spite of me giving Electrolux all the information about my washer, including the error code, Mike wanted all the details again. He didn't only try to charge me extra money that I was explicitly told my Electrolux they would cover, but he continued to give me the runaround that Electrolux's systems are down and so forth. If this story was, in fact, true, and Mike was a trusted contractor of Electrolux that wanted these referrals, why would I, the customer, be forced to be the middleman on his behalf? This is without a doubt something that an upstanding company with strong relationships troubleshoots; not the customer. Mike is lazy and does not care about his customers. He doesn't seem to want his Electrolux partnership anymore so if you get referred to him, ask for a different referral. In the time I have spent trying to communicate with Mike I would have had another repairman at my house with service fully covered by Electrolux. read more

They charged me $125 to come and diagnosed my frig, then came out and spent 15 minutes then tell me it's not worth fixing. They offered that I could buy a new frig from them and they could give me some kind of discount. I then called home depot and got a price quote for a nerw frig. I called Mike's appliance and see if they could match. They said no and still went ahead and charged me $125 for that 15 minutes. Way too expensive. Will never use them again.. Our washer finally gave way and we were in need of a new one. My husband suggested that we try a small mom and pop shop instead of a bigger retailer since we had a bad experience getting our kitchen appliances a while back. So, we ended up at Mike's Appliances. Right when we entered, we were greeted by Vanessa. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. At first we were leaning towards getting a new dryer as well, but she suggested that we play around with the tubing behind the dryer to see if there was lint piled up and preventing our dryer from drying properly. Because of her suggestion, we ended up just getting a new washer. The new washing machine was delivered a few days later and in good time because it was time to do our laundry again! The delivery process ran smoothly with them taking away our old washer and installing the new one. By the way, Vanessa's suggestion with our dryer worked! I bought a dishwasher for my mother at Mikes yesterday. Great knowledgeable staff, and willing to go the extra mile (literally install in Vallejo) for me as I have bought several appliances there. My brother (smarty pants) calls to ask how much I paid , $411 I said. He said the same dishwasher at Home Depot was $299. I said well I bought local, sometimes it cost a little more for good service...... Then he calls back and said opps it was $399 at Home Depot. I said ya, before tax I paid Mikes $379! Mike reached out to me regarding my review and quickly resolved any issues that i had. After Objectively reviewing their service they were quick to accommodate an appointment and even were able to arrange an earlier date to look at the inoperable freezer. They were out the next day but unfortunately unable to repair. The solution was to buy a replacement appliance. I was frustrated with having to come out of pocket and unfairly reflected upon Mike's Appliances. After speaking with Mike on the phone today for a few minutes I was able to realize this and hopefully work with them as a partner to resolve any appliance problems that may come up. read more
