The hush puppies were the star of the show! Went here with family and ordered the stuffed potato skins which were good but for $17, I expected at least 6 . They're good but you only get 4. Stuffed with shrimp, scallop and crab with imperial sauce. As for the platter, the crab cake was delicious and the scallops a close second. You get 1 crab cakes, 2 scallops, 3 shrimp and a white flaky fish called orange roughy. The was the least seasoned fish I've had in a while. You'll at minimum need to add salt. It kind of ruined the platter for me but given the price, I ate everything lol. After finishing up I ordered some hush puppies intended for later but they barely made it into the box. I highly recommend giving them a try. They're moist with pieces of corn and come with a honey cinnamon whipped butter. A nice sweet snack or dessert even. Those were $8. What sucks is they don't do any side substitutions. The platter comes with a salad, potato or fries. I didn't want the side but couldn't sub for the hush puppies. We sat outside on the deck near the water and service was better than the last time. We made it right before the vending rush- Got there around 5pm. It was packed on our way out. Bonus we got to see baby jellyfish in the dirty water lol. Spoiler alert: I had massive gastro issues shortly after :(. My first time here and won't be my last! My Aunt & Uncle love this spot. They come at least once a month. For my first visit we started with appetizers - fried clams, coconut shrimp and fried green beans. To drink we had the rum punch & orange crush. For the main course we did a dozen large crabs. Back to Mikes for crabs - this time went on a mid week day for lunch and it wasn't hard to find a table outdoors on the deck despite all the tables along the edge were empty due to still being wet after a heavy rain, Nevertheless it was still pretty packed and got more so even later into the afternoon. Since we were here last time crab prices have jumped substantially - now the large crabs are $95/doz - medium would have been $75 but they only had large. Still that's a more affordable cost than crab houses closer to DC. The crabs as usual came quickly and were well spiced. They were not as large as I expected but quite decent and meaty. Most had claws on only one was missing - we really care about that because we both like claw meat. As always, besides the tasty crabs the environment also matters and Mikes probably has the best outdoor waterside atmosphere. A bit far away - 40 min drive but worth it. I just wanted to let upper management know of the terrible evening my family and I experienced there tonight. We got there about 5:30 ish. Got sat out on the deck, my daughter son-in-law, 3 yr old and 1 yr old and myself. Got sat at picnic table outside. Waited for quite sometime for a serve, and while we were waiting, a server came out the door with a tray full of drinks. Well they fell off the tray and landed down my daughters backside, she was really wet, then a red drink went all over half the backside of my white jeans! Sprayed up onto my 1 year old grandchild and soaked my daughters diaper bag. Well the action taken by anyone that worked there was horrendous! Finally someone handed us a roll of paper towels and walked away. Then a manager came out and stood there for a few minutes, then said why don't you go sit over there, pointed to a different table. Which she came over and wiped off. Barely got an apology out of her. And that was that!!!!! After waiting a bit, wet!, a server finally came over. Then we got a FULL bill! Nothing taken off, no free dessert offered, a big goose egg ! Oh and while we were there, the drinks spilled stayed on the floor with a wet floor sign out near the mess. How unprofessional and dirty. I know I left a review before for this, but I'm leaving a second review because yesterday I got to experience it again full service this time got to experience outside the view things that I didn't have an opportunity to experience the first time I just had the flu the first time and a good waiter. But this time I actually got to wait 15 minutes to be seated and that the way that they went about that was wonderful. First of all the hospitality when I got there was awesome and they were very kind and gentle and I gave my phone number and they texted me as soon as my table was ready. But before it was not ready, they told me I could go outside and just enjoy the outside the water the pier they even had a boat where a family had brought their boat over from I guess the other side of the bay and they vote it to Mike's crab House, which I thought was really amazing. It was grandparents and all of their grandchildren and it took maybe 10 minutes for my table to be ready. I got the cup of crab chowder, which was delicious. Always had add a couple of dashes of Old Bay seasoning, but it was great and a cup just a little bit of pepper and it was perfection per usual. I had a wonderful waitress. Her name was Sophia. She is awesome. She is so awesome. I love her so much. She took my order instantly I asked for pink lemonade and she had already come to the table with ice water, cause it was so hot today outside I did request that I have one of the bus boys put down the brown paper over the table cause last time the table we got it kind of messy the person I was with and you know butter and stuff got everywhere so she did have him come over and do that for me, which was amazing. The food was spectacular, snow crab, legs, amazing two clusters, big giant clusters, great crab legs, full of meat butter amazing Oba seasoning amazing hush puppies great shrimp cooked a perfection. The ambience was a bit loud because it was a party next to me who was really obnoxious and loud, but I think cause they had too many drinks, but other than that, I got to experience them singing happy birthday to another party, which was beautiful. The music was at the right volume, and I was able to eat concentrate have a conversation on the phone and it was just wonderful so I am in love with this place and I made sure this time that Sophia got a very nice tip because she was very kind she bought boxes. She's just awesome so please give her a raise. Her attitude was wonderful. Her personality amazing. I will be returning now. This is gonna be like my spot that I go to for celebration's birthday parties even business meetings like after the big meeting is done we're gonna come here and just enjoy the evening time you know. Meh. Went here to meet my friend and her family, but was unimpressed. Hubby and I live in Colorado now, but we're from the east coast, so were looking forward to some crab. We started with the crab balls (yes very plump and crabby), but $21 was a hefty price tag for 5 balls. For food, we both got a broiled crab cake sandwich with a side of fries (I didn't hear this, but my mother-in-law said we couldn't do side substitutions which seems odd?). The sandwich came on a potato bun and had some iceberg lettuce and a sad looking tomato - the crab cake itself was very meaty just not overly flavorful. Mike's did its job and delivered large, fresh, tasty crabs. On a beautiful Saturday, we ordered their oysters, cream of crab, fries, and a dozen large crabs ($120). Everything came out when it was ready, hot, and fresh. Only issue was that we were shorted a crab and didn't love that we had to count the crabs after we were knee-deep in crab heaven; the waitress was great and happily got us another without over-scrutinizing it. Service was great and for a nice saturday in summer, I was surprised the wait was only an hour, but the place is fairly big and they're good about turning over as quickly as possible. Always the go-to spot for crab lovers! My family comes here every summer for the fresh crabs, potatoes skin, and the shrimp & crab dip appetizer all of which are our favorites. Unfortunately, during this visit they only had a mix of small and medium crabs available, when we usually go for the jumbos. That was a bit of a letdown, but everything else was still solid. I enjoy it most when it's warm outside and we can sit on the water enjoying large Maryland Blue Crabs or crab legs and adult conversation. There's always a wait but it's worth it for me. For apps, we typically order stuffed mushrooms, warm crab dip that comes with a small bread loaf, or the calamari. Service is consistent. On a warm Saturday evening, we were informed that Mikes ran out of all crabs before 5:30pm but they were getting more in the next hour. They did in fact get more but my crew had already pivoted to crab legs. Two clusters were $35 and a dozen of large crabs were $116. We had a nice time catching up. Note: Our server shared a no crab sauce policy & the reason behind not providing condiments after my friend asked for ketchup & mayo. This was my first time visiting, and unfortunately it will most likely be my last. When we arrived, we were quoted a 35-min wait, which turned into 1 hour and 15minutes before we were finally seated. While waiting, the lobby was extremely hot, and although there were several employees walking around, very few acknowledged or communicated with guest. I asked the host for an update multiple times. After my second inquiry, I was told it would be another 15 minutes Thirty minutes later, I went back to ask again and was once again told "15 minutes". When I mentioned that I had been told the same thing 30 minutes earlier, I was simply told that it was "just an estimate." I understand wait times can change, but it's much better to overestimate than continually give guests unrealistic expectations. Unfortunately, the experience didn't improve after we were seated. We sat at our table for another 30 minutes without anyone greeting us or taking our order. I finally had to ask if our table even had a server before someone had eventually came over. In total, we waited more than two hours from the time we checked in until we were finally served. Had we known it would take that long, we would have gone to one of tour other locations, which we seriously considered during the wait. I completely understand that restaurants get busy, and I'm willing to be patient when there is honest communication and attentive customer service. However, the lack of communication, poor organization, and overall customer service made this a very disappointing experience. I was extremely upset, frustrated and starving. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience fell far below expectations. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving communication and customer service so future guest don't have the same experience. read more

I came here on a Saturday night 10/11/2025 in October, my boyfriend is from Texas and he never had blue crabs before. We were visiting Annapolis for the first time and this was a relaxed spot for dinner after a day of exploring! We sat on the covered deck outside, there's a nice walkway leading from the back of the restaurant over the water with some tables as well outside. He ordered the crab cakes with potato side, and we started with the crab dip appetizer. The crab dip was more than enough for two, it had spinach artichoke I think, and possibly cream cheese! It was delicious with the bread and chips it came with. We also shared 1/2 dozen of blue crabs steamed. They came out hot but took a little while, understandably though since they were busy. The crabs were meaty and tasty. Our server was great I forgot her name but she was young and made sure our Diet Coke got refilled, and checked up on us without being overbearing. We paid cash since there's a card fee for most crab places around the area, and made sure to tip the hardworking staff here. It's a quintessential blue crab experience in a great laid back place. I noticed the bar area inside filled up with many people watching the college games. A lot of families were dining inside!
