Horrible food. Uncooked Bacon, service was subpar. I told the waitress about the bacon and she said I am sorry and didn't offer to cook anything else. Menu was ok but I would keep going. Manager never acknowledge us and when we come back we wont return. I hope they enjoy our money and final visit because we didn't. Keep going and look for something else to eat. Great place to stop for drinks with friends! I sat in the bar area so obviously the noise level was loud but that's what I wanted. There is also a normal restaurant seating section if you do not want the bar vibe. This place is know for its award winning clams! Go out at support this local favorite place! I have to dock an entire 2 stars off my original rating due to one reason: they do not manage seating at all in the lounge area. Now, you might say "thats normal", and I agree. What isn't normal is the extremely aggressive nature of the senior citizens who make up the majority of the patrons in the lounge. Years ago, I would come here all the time to have dinner, drinks, and enjoy the live music. Now, I wouldn't dream of it. This isn't based on one or two occurrences. I've been pushed, I've had people sit down in my booth with me and demand that I leave because it was "their table", I've been cut in line, you name it. The elder patrons here are so rude and aggressive that we can't go anymore. How could Mike's fix this? EASY! Civilized people usually wait at the door of the lounge and wait for a spot, naturally forming a line. Rope that off and enforce a line. Don't let the rude people skip it and wander the lounge to bully the rest of us. I've been coming to Mike's dozens of times a year for a long time now, and at any given time, I'm usually the duke. My last review was in 2015, and I decided it was time for an update because I sadly can't come as much as I used to. The food is still really good, I still often get the baked scallops or baked half and half, which is half scallops and half haddock. They have a broad tap list and the bartenders are pros that make great drinks. read more

Loved coming here before for the taste of food and family atmosphere. This time it felt rush and food taste okay... my baked scallops had alot of breadcrumbs. Table setting wasn't set up before we sat down, probably because it was so busy but hey people can wait another 5 minutes so they can set up no one really knows. We frequent Mike's whenever we are Maine. It's great for fried food like fish, clams, shrimp and the like. I've ordered their stuffed haddock and regular haddock on multiple occasions and been very pleased. They offer lots of sides with entrees, however, the vegetable of the day has never changed in the last 9 years we have been going here :) There is dine-in, take out and an outdoor area, as well as a picnic area if you don't need full service. Full service bar and a large bar area with TVs and bar tables where you can get a full meal. The place is huge but it's always busy during peak season! Be prepared to wait in summer months but it tends to move faster than some other places in the area due to its size. There is a lot to order here from fish to steak to pasta to burgers. Would not recommend the steak tips as everyone who has gotten them was never pleased due to toughness and fattiness. To be fair, it's a fish joint, not a steak house. Definitely worth a trip at least when in Wells. There is something for everyone! read more

My friend's 8 year old really enjoyed their kids menu selection and the portions were very generous. Prices were a bit higher than I was expecting but that's what you deal with for fresh, high quality seafood. Hadn't been here in sometime , always enjoyed their seafood . We had a party of four and ordered seafood platter, scallops, and coconut shrimp. We found serving sizes to be pretty average though prices inflated a bit more in some of our order. The coconut shrimp were very dark and crispy, not bad but maybe slightly over cooked. The entire rest of the seafood order was very greasy. The breading on all of it was barely adhering to the items. We suspected their cooking temp not where it needed to be. It all tasted ok other than very greasy. Fries and coleslaw and chowder excellent . We were excited to see a better craft beer list even though mostly in cans. The service was fast and waitress very nice. Bit disappointed by will most likely try again someday. read more

Okay, it was the lobster stew... seriously the best of the chowder/seafood soup I have had all week. No knock on the others. All great. Outdoor dining. Last dinner 'LOUD'. The madly busy parking lot every night is deserved. Lobster pie great, stuffed shrimp great. The stuffing is wet so if you are looking for dry/crisped this isn't it but the flavors are in my zone of favorites. The appetizers may have been a bit more generous but the prices aren't hideous. Fresh seafood or not, I have experienced better. We came here for a family reunion dinner with Mom, Dad, Gram, Gramp, Uncle Dennis, My Dennis, and me. Seven of us on a Saturday night, 6:00PM. Line out the door, no where to sit for a two 80 year old's and a disabled loved one. We got a beeper and stood around like herded cattle anxiously waiting for slaughter. The beeper came to life in about 20 minutes, which was not soon enough. We are seated and the service was not at all bad. The menu was straightforward with the expected fare of fresh fried, baked or broiled seafood. Also was pasta and prime rib, lobsters, and other traditional American fare. I was very underwhelmed here. I had the mussels to start. Not a bad start, some sand in about every other one. The broth was garlicky and buttery and wonderful when sopped up with the crusty rolls. I then had the stuffed baked haddock which was just terrible. I had a sour taste. It came with Mike's house mashed potato which was like a loaded baked just mashed up. It was lukewarm and not good either. I then sampled my Mother's chicken and broccoli Alfredo which was very under seasoned and the chicken tough and broccoli over cooked. The cape codders were strong and nearly clear, thanks heavens! I may return one day for a second try, but I would not go out of my way to eat here again. read more

Was a little disappointed with my visit on 8-21-18. I've been here numerous times in the past and have always enjoyed my meal. The food itself was very good minus a few side items that my table ordered that came out cold. We waited for almost 90 minutes for a table, but we're told it would be about an hour wait. The waitress was pleasant and friendly, but definitely not attentive enough when it came to drink refills and checking on how we were doing. The restaurant itself may actually be a victim of it's own success. I remember dining here with the portions being a little bigger a the prices a little bit more reasonable. But nevertheless, to end this review on a positive note, the quality of the seafood is still very good........and my favorite item is still the "lobster pie". read more

Expect to pay touristy prices to eat here. But, the food is very good and portions ample for the money. I had the deep fried scallops that were all uniform in size and actually brought home half of the meal with me. My girlfriend had a lobster roll which she said was good. We both had a cup of clam chowder which was super tasty. We had one beer each-Fat Tire, I also had a garden salad. Decided to try Mike's for dinner with some friends. My friends were regulars and were excited to bring us. We were eating a bit late, so when we arrived we were able to be seated right away. Oh, this was a Saturday evening and the place wasn't packed, however there were enough patrons to keep the waiters hopping. The really best part of our dinner experience was our waitress. She was very informative and had a great sense of humor. She visited the table often and each time had a comment that simply cracked us up. We ordered a small onion ring for tithe table as out appetizer and it was thinly sliced onions with a light fantast coating. When they quickly and me I mean quickly arrived at our table we were shocked to find a rather large basket full. It really made one wonder how big was the large size? For my meal I ordered the baked scallop and haddock combo. Both the scallops and haddock were backed perfectly with a cracker coating. To be honest, I felt they over did it with the cracker crumbs. For my side, I ordered a double order of butternut squash. It was also fantastic. My wife ordered the crab cakes and wasn't all the impressed. The cakes were more cake than crab meat. My friends ordered a Haddock Sandwich, which he loved and his wife ordered the coconut shrimp and she enjoyed every bite. Oh, she got the butternut squash also. Just like each restaurants in Wells, 5 star in need of a golden buzzer. First, the meal... A bowl of chowda and a 2lb lobsta.. I cant say enough. The lobsta that I saved from drowning, was extremely sweet. The clam chowder was un-beatable. Way better than that acclaimed restaurant whose initials are LS..
